Tried Vaanga Bellingham today and it was honestly an amazing experience! The vada pav tasted so authentic and fresh just like real Mumbai street food. Ghee karam dosa was perfectly crispy and full of flavor, veg puff was fresh, and everything paired really well with hot coffee. “वडा पावचा खरा मुंबईकर स्वाद!” If you’re craving Mumbai or South Indian street food in Massachusetts, this place is definitely worth visiting. I’ll surely come back again! 🌟
Great new place ! Just tried with my mom had the roasted lamb, noodles with chicken, and a mango smoothie it filled both of us up and we shared, smoothie was sooo good the food was delicious. The staff were really kind and helped us in choosing some foods actually thank you guys 🫶🏼
I'm so happy to have finally tried Vaanga Bellingham. Goodness knows this area needs some new, fresh faces in the restaurant scene. We went for a late lunch, and while the place was empty, the takeout game was happening- lots of people came in for that. We had the place to ourselves. It was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable. This is fast casual with counter service. The food is great- varied menu. Ingredients are so fresh. We had pani puri (fantastic!) and kathi rolls. The value for portion size is great and flavors are wonderful. I don't know what made the fries "desi fries" but that's ok. I tried a sample of gulab jamun ice cream before leaving- so good! I can't wait to go back!
Mother has tasked me with writing a review on behalf of our family. Me and my family LOVE getting dinner from here about every 2 weeks since Vaanga opened! Vaanga has definitely found loyal customers in our family. The staff behind the counter are always so friendly and helpful. When we first looked at the menu, we were blown away by the selection of unique dishes the other local indian restaurants in our area didn’t have. We’ve loved every dish we’ve had so far! My father very much appreciates how Vaanga isn’t shy at all about using their seasonings. He says to keep it up! I’ll never forget when I tried my first few bites of the bombay lamb burger and I told my dad to try it, it was so delicious. I turned away for a few seconds to eat some curry. I looked back at my dad and he had eaten the whole thing. XD My mother loves the spice level. We’re a pretty spice tolerant family so we love getting medium! My still somewhat picky brother loves the butter chicken and chewy fresh naan! I love love love the variety of menu items! I always love trying something different every time. There’s always something for whatever mood I’m in. I was in a fishy mood today. So I tried the Tandoori Pomfret as well as some idlis and vadas for the first time. The idlis were so soft, moist with a nice little tang and the vadas were flavorful and crisp on the outside, both perfect for dipping into the curries and saags my family usually gets. Me and my mom love sharing a whole cooked fish but not too many restaurants around here serve whole fish. The Pomfret was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked! Despite how we always end up with leftovers, we also love grabbing some lamb and chicken puffs. They make for a wonderful quick breakfast the next day. My only minor gripe is I wasn’t aware that the goat curry was made with bones when I first ordered it. But as someone who has eaten a lot of authentic southeast asian cooking, I don’t mind taking time to separate delicious delicious meat from some bones in curries and sauces. Thank you so much for bringing your wonderful cooking to our area! We’ll see you again soon! :) - The Flint Family
One of the best Indian restaurants in Bellingham for authentic flavors. The chicken puff, egg puff, and biryani are outstanding—fresh, perfectly spiced, and incredibly satisfying. If you’re missing true Indian-style food, this is the right place to visit. The taste, quality, and aroma bring real comfort and nostalgia. Yummy and delicious food, great portions, and absolutely worth coming back again. Highly recommended! 😋🍗🍛
I only found out this place opened a week ago, and I’ve been excited to try it since. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was actually medium spicy, as ordered. I’m sure the mild is delicious. Order medium if you like to party. Order hot if you like to rock and roll. Looking forward to trying more of what they have to offer!
What an absolute gem of a new restaurant in the area. Went with 6 people, ordered about a dozen different items on the menu, including many I had never had before. Staples like chicken tikka masala and saag paneer were amazing, but so were the items new to us. Also, maybe the best pikora I’ve ever had. This is a much larger menu that many other Indian restaurants in the area. Every single dish was delicious. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Do not skip dessert, especially if you like interesting flavors of ice cream. We will be back, and I hope this restaurant is here for a long time!
I'm usually very picky and plain with the food I eat. Today my boyfriend wanted to try it. I went in not expecting to try anything because me being me I'm scared to try anything. But once inside I made the decision just try it. I went with the butter chicken as I am a fan of anything tomato and who could go wrong with chicken? They asked the spice intensity mild, medium, or hot, I went with medium. I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was delicious, the tomato gravy was amazing and paired well with the rice. Considering I wasn't super hungry when I went in I ate a lot and still had some to bring home. I will definitely be back, I'm happy they are just down the street from us. They also have sweets and treats. We sampled ice cream before we left. The atmosphere was great. Clean dining area. Food was brought out to us as we waited at the table. Staff was also very friendly and explained different items on the menu. A+ in my book.
First time trying Vaanga and first time trying Indian food !!! My boyfriend & I could smell it from the Walmart parking lot and that’s what made us come in!! Haha plus we’ve been wanting to try Indian food. The gentleman who helped us was so great at explaining everything. :) We got butter chicken, rice & garlic naan!!! So delicious! Butter chicken has just the right amount of spice and the naan bread tastes fresh!!! We will definitely be back :) <3 Thank you soooo much!
Visited Vanga – Bellingham today after hearing so many great things about their food, and honestly… it lived up to the hype! 😍 Tried the Chicken 69, Boneless Biryani, and the Pomfret Fish — absolute must-tries, every single one of them 👌🔥 What really stood out was the staff — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They made the whole experience even better 💛 Loved the ambiance too — clean, classy, and perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. And the best part? Even on a weekday, this place is a crowd puller — that says it all! 👏 Don’t forget to end your meal with their Falooda 🍨✨ Definitely coming back!
First time trying Vaanga and it was so delicious! There are so many vegetarian options, I didn’t know where to start so I’ll have to come back and work my way through all the different choices. I had butter paneer - creamy, spicy and slightly sweet - just perfect. My husband had saag paneer - very good and very spicy! There is also an ice cream counter with so many interesting flavors! Really cool spot! A new favorite.
Amazing food varieties, tasty and flavorful food and prompt service!! I recently went here with family and friends. We enjoyed having Ghee Karam Dosa, Masala dosa, Kheema and Chicken puffs, Boneless chicken biriyani, Palak paneer with stuffed cheese naan, and chicken 69 with rumali roti. Ended our feast with Dubai chocolate ice cream and Rose milk Falooda. Food was served on time. Everything tasted absolutely fantastic esp the Ghee karam dosa, chicken biriyani and chicken 69 rumali roti combo. There are so many items to try. I would 1000% recommended this place for anyone who’s looking for a taste of authentic Indian food!!
We recently visited this Indian street food restaurant. We were really impressed with the flavors! The paneer tikka burger was good, perfectly spiced. The tandoori chicken was also delicious packed with lots of spices and flavors . I would recommend onion samosas, which go beautifully with their Irani chai. The chai is a must-try..it’s rich and comforting, although I’d suggest they ease up on the sugar just a bit. Overall, a great spot for anyone craving authentic Indian street food.
I visited here with my friends because I had known about Vaanga in boston but never had a chance to visit. But when we heard that another branch is opened near us we visited. Sitting space is not that big but it is good enough I think. Food is really awesome. I am a fan of pav bhaji and vadapav. It was awesome and taste was like street pav bhaji had in Mumbai. We also tried chat items and we all liked it very much. Naans were freshly made. And definitely no challenge for their mango lassi. My friends tried ice-creams and they loved it. So many ice-cream flavors to chose from. Overheard a praise from a customer about tea. Next time planning to try that. Update: 19 Nov They have increased the table sizes now. And as always food was awesome. Tried chicken roast pulao. It was tasty.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delicious! This place is a one-stop shop for Indian food lovers. The starters were bursting with flavor, the biryanis were perfectly cooked and aromatic, and the faloodas and ice creams were the perfect sweet ending. Fast service, fresh food, and an amazing overall experience. Highly recommend!!
**Update to my previous review:** I visited Vaanga Bellingham in person today and was really impressed by the warm customer service. They paid great attention to my spice and salt preferences while taking my order, which I truly appreciated. We tried the Pav Bhaji and Bezawada Boneless Chicken Biryani, and both dishes were delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the team had taken my previous feedback seriously and updated their kitchen processes. They also offered a complimentary Chicken Kothu Parotta since I had an issue with it before, and this time it was perfectly made. It really shows how much they care about customer feedback. To top it off, they provided complimentary drinks, which was a lovely gesture. Their ice cream collection is also worth mentioning. The Meetha Paan flavor was pleasantly creative, and both the Dubai Chocolate and Kulfi were really good. I highly recommend the Dubai Chocolate! Thank you, Vaanga team, for the thoughtful service and for showing how genuinely serious you are about customer feedback. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon! ===================================== I was really excited to learn that Vaanga opened an outlet in Bellingham and decided to try their takeout for the first time. The service was commendable, from placing my order over the phone to the pickup process. However, I did have some concerns about the quality of the food. I ordered the Chicken Kothu Parotta, but unfortunately, it was quite burnt compared to what I typically expect from other Indian restaurants. Additionally, it had an excessive amount of salt, which made it less enjoyable. I felt that it would have been helpful if the staff had notified me about the saltiness, so I could have requested a bit less for my order. I noticed a similar issue with the Chicken Roast Pulav. I really hope that this feedback can help improve the cooking process, as I would love to have a better experience in the future. Thank you for your attention to these details!
The atmosphere is amateur at best.. very little money has spent on the table chairs..the food was strictly ok.. they charge premium pricing but refuse to provide the quality..the food is served in throw away cheap paper plates. I ordered the Iddli Vada and the Vada was stale and the Iddli was strictly ok.. the sambhar wasn't provided and I had to go ask. Costed me $22 for a order of Iddli Vada and a soft drink .. I am going to say rip in advance unless they make some investment on the ambience and improve the quality of food
Had Masala Dosa (Good) and paneer chilli (okay) Tea and coffee was not there. May be next time🤞 Suggestion: If possible, please inform customers before paying the bill about 4% additional charge for use of credit card or atleast tell them to read about it which is posted there as it’s possible for some people (like us) to miss it 😬 & If possible, please reduce the quantity of paneer chilli and accordingly kindly reduce price of it because 1 paneer chilli quantity is a lot for two people.
worst and stale food. ordered biryani and mango lassi. the chicken and egg must be at least 1 week old. smelly, stale and almost rotten. the mango lassi was stinking like vomit. had threw it completely. they are playing with health of ppl. typical indian hotel mindset. will never order from here again.
I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The setup feels much more like a fast-food spot than a proper sit-down Indian restaurant. Most of the food appeared to be pre-made in large batches and simply reheated when served. What makes this especially frustrating is the pricing. Each dish was $16–18 (not in generous portion) which is comparable to high-end, full-service Indian restaurants — except this place is completely self-serve, using plastic plates and utensils. For that price point, I would expect freshly prepared food, proper table service, and a more elevated dining experience. Be aware, when placing your order, it may appear that you have to pick a % for tips starting from 15% (as the “no tips” button is not intuitive to find on the screen). The lassi was served in a small plastic bottle for $5. It was sticky to the touch, overly sweet, and slightly lumpy — not at all what I’d expect in terms of quality. While the food flavors may be authentic, the food did not taste fresh. The meat in particular seemed like it had been sitting for a while (stale) and simply reheated. Overall, I left feeling uneasy about the hygiene and quality standards. For what is being offered, the pricing feels unreasonable. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place based on my experience.
I ordered from this restaurant on DoorDash and my order took over 45 minutes just to be prepared, which was already frustrating. When the food finally arrived, they included a complimentary cake, which I was actually really excited about until I opened it and saw that it was covered in mold. Getting a free dessert is a nice gesture, but giving out spoiled food is not okay and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. I was really disappointed with this experience and hope the restaurant addresses these issues.
