The Pho here is outstanding. I've been to over 50 Vietnamese restaurants seeking the best Pho Tai and this is contending for the #1 spot with Jasmine Garden in San Francisco. Consistently amazing broth made the traditional way without MSG keeps me coming back, as does the great staff and friendly owner. If you're a Phonatic, you won't be disappointed.

Food was very tasty, the Panang curry was nice and mild with lots of flavor! Service could have been a little quicker, but overall good.

I really enjoyed this place. I went on a weekday evening and was greeted as if I was a usual customer. This was actually my first time there. I enjoyed a delicious chicken pad see ew, which was $9.95, and a Thai ice tea which I think had a little too much milk but I still enjoyed it, I believe that was $3.50 for a glass. This is a place I would go back to.

This is a very nice Thai place, the souls are huge and delicious, the menu is big and offers various noodles, rices and combination plates. This place is good for quick lunch break and long dinners with friends. The fried shrimp appetizer is amazing and you need to try their Thai iced tea !

Cute little restaurant, the food was great but the portions were big. Don't bother ordering wine here, it's not bad, but it is not great either... but ultimately it's an ethnic mom and pop style restaurant so I was not expecting it to be amazing anyway. Quiet and peaceful ambiance, nothing fancy. Got quite busy on a Wednesday around 8pm.

We had such delicious variety of dishes. The waitresses were very helpful with our orders. This restaurant was nicely furnished and very clean. I recommend this Thai Restaurant for small and big groups.

I got veggie red curry and jasmine rice for takeout from Thai Tamarind. It was so delicious, I've been telling everyone at work they need to try this place out. Spice level medium was perfect, I couldn't stop eating it. Will order/visit again!

Tasty food and great service! The chicken larb was nice and spicy and acidic just the way I like it. The waitress was super sweet and just the right amount of attentive. Beautifully decorated with dark wood and tasteful art.

I've tried many Thai restaurants, including many in the city that are quite good. I find Thai Tamarind is always very tasty and the ingredients are very fresh and well prepared. The staff is great too. Basically, there is everything to like about this place.

I had pad see ewe, I got hot and the server was very careful to make sure I knew it’s really spicy, she was right it was really spicy 💀 but very good, probably the best I’ve had. Service was very friendly almost like they’re my auntie lol

I had the pleasure of trying the Tom Yum soup and rice with shrimps at this Thai restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience. Even though I don't consider myself a foodie, I was thoroughly impressed. The flavors were incredibly authentic, and the spice level was spot on, just as I had hoped. The Tom Yum soup was a delightful blend of tangy and spicy, while the fried rice with shrimp was cooked to perfection. I have to say that I'll be returning for more of this delicious Thai cuisine! Walked in 10 minutes before closing and asked if we could place a to go, and the hostess was happy to take the order. Made recommendations, and the order came out timely. Once home, the happiness continued as everything was hot and amazing. Make the effort to stop in and enjoy!

The food is authentic, fresh, and really yummy. Pad Thai, Satay Chicken, all the different curries, and Tom Yum soup are just a few of the dishes on the menu that I like to order and it's always consistent in quality and taste. The food is reasonably priced, and the service is superb and fast. Thai iced tea is my go to order if I'm thirsty, but they have a variety of other drinks and fresh juices. I would highly recommend them, and Chala the owner is very friendly, accommodating, and professional.

Exceedingly tasty Thai food. My favorite tom yum soup ever! Everything on the menu is vibrant, fresh, and flavorful. The restaurant has an elegant atmosphere, but we also love to use Thai Tamarind for takeout.

Love the food! They serve filling portions, which when I dined in before the 2020 lockdowns meant leftovers for tomorrow & now when I order to-go it equals 2 meals when paired with a cup of their soups (the soup can be a light but filling lunch on its own too, in my opinion). The staff has always been kind and I remember the dining space as both elegant & calm.

Delicious! Best green curry I’ve every had. Peanut sauce, Thai tea, pra ram jay, and mango sticky rice was fantastic. So many vegan options too.

Very friendly customer service to start. And clean dining area with relaxing music playing around us while we dine. Everything we ordered off the menu from this tom yum soup Pad Thai Noodles & and garlic pork dish was all out of this world amazingly delicious

We rented this place out for a meeting and it was great, good service and we got a great rate especially considering they covered drinks (it was a professional meeting so they probably figured we wouldn't be drinking much). They had space for the projector and it wasn't too loud to hear. I remember the appetizers most spring roll, fried shrimp rolls, the rest is a blur of tasty foods I inhaled while listening to the meeting. Good food kind of meat heavy so specify if you want something vegetarian.

Chez Saigon is easily my favorite restaurant in the bay. I go here at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Chala, the owner is the sweetest lady I've ever met. You have to try her amazing dishes. I highly recommend the drunken noodles, the green curry, and E13.

Unique and tasty menu, very friendly service, and white tablecloths. The ingredients are nice and fresh. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Great lunch place. Typically try the lemon pork lunch special with noodles. Restaurant seems empty during lunch so I hope enough people try it out.

Got some takeout Kao Soi from here and it was pretty good! The flavor and taste of the curry was quality stuff and very fulfilling for only $13! Definitely gonna come back here again to get something to eat.

The fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce is excellent. I also had the rice and lemongrass pork, it was not bad. The restaurant itself is really nice and the waitress was really nice.

Food was nothing special, but it was solid. We got Thai iced tea, pad Thai, and a vegetable dish. Everything ran a little on the sweeter side. I would eat here again, but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to make it happen.

Our favorite for Thai food in the peninsula. Taste is authentic and service is always friendly and prompt. I’ve taken off a star for our last visit when we walked in around 8.35 and we were told the kitchen was about to shut (which is odd since they are open till 9pm). Since we’ve always had great service, we decided to stay and order. We placed our desert order too since their fried banana/coconut ice cream is awesome. But got none that day! Apparently when our meal ended and we asked for the dessert, the kitchen had closed. No apologies for the mistake or even a simple acknowledgement. And they still had 3 tables and 2 pick up orders going on...

Very nicely decorated restaurant with excellent lunch specials for under $10. The sauces were delicious serving size was more than I could eat. The beef was a liittle tough but when I cut it in smaller pieces it was very easy to chew. The chicken was delicious and generous serving.

First time eating here we got take out and it was hot and on time.. very quality clean food. Not overly seasoned or greasy they really let the ingredients shine in the food. Definitely will go back.

Went twice. The first time I had green curry chicken. It was delicious and tasted authentic (I've been to Thailand many times). However, the second time my pad Thai and tom yung goon were quite poor. None of my friends were happy with their meals either. Flavors have been compromised to fit an American pallet.

The food was so bland. The tom yum soup had no spice to it. The women working there were so kind and friendly. I would give it another chance if we vacation in san carlos again .

Had Pad thai and garlic chicken. Delicious food experience. Service was not as good. Once food was delivered, we were totally ignored. No iced tea refill and we had to get up and ask for a to go box and bill. Thus the 3 stars.

I showed up earlier today for take out. After ordering from the blue preprinted takeaway menus present at the door and at the counter, I happened to notice that the billed prices were $1 higher per dish for each of the two dishes ordered. When I asked why, the reply was "Oh, we printed those menus 3 years ago, and we couldn't stand to just throw them out". While I approve of the ecology of such a decision, it represents consumer fraud for each such dish sold to the public -- apparently for years. Note that the response was not "you're right", or "we'll fix that", or even "we'll put up a little sign so people know". So it seemed apparent to me that the proprietor felt entitled to charge the wrong price, and I felt churlish and ungenerous just to pay the correct amount. Under normal circumstances, I would report this to consumer affairs. But I, personally, won't be back -- as a matter of principle, and I will post this on social media sites instead. Good food, btw.

Beef was very low quality. Dry, very chewy, lots of tendons and other connective tissue. Wasn't even able to finish my rice noodles.

Expensive, no service, both fish dishes were really badly cooked. Tough on the outside yet raw on the inside! At least decor was nice though the space is loud.

We had lunch at this restaurant for the third time. We came back even though the waitress was not very friendly because the food is tasty. Today our food was cold. I sent mine back to be reheated and it came back almost just as cold. And there were no apologies from the staff. Don’t think we’re going back.

Not good, did not get what I ordered, I called when I got home to complain, said it was a miss communication on there part .Would not refund there error for 1 of my dishes I couldn’t even eat. 2 stars because they were friendly. When you call in the person taking your order is talking to someone else in background and you can here everything going on in back ground. I had to repeat myself several times and they still didn’t get my orders right. I would not recommend ☹️

Update - my first experience here was memorable but this last visit - memorable for a whole different reason. We ordered take out, my partner went in to grab the order. The lady working there was hella rude and told him to wait while she added up items from an order she was working on. After that, she went to the back for at least 5 minutes, just leaving my partner there waiting - didn't say anything, she just walked away. Upon her return, she told him to go check the orders sitting on top of the tables. She could have told him that when he first entered and saved us 10 minutes, but she acted like she couldn't be bothered - even though we had already purchased. When we got home, our meals were also very disappointing - the chicken was tough and overcooked. The servings were small except for the fried rice. The curry was not fresh, it was obviously reheated and beginning to separate. The meals didn't include rice - which would have been beneficial to know while I was ordering. So we made some jasmine rice when we got home to go with my meal. We had two entres, fried rice and an appetizer for just under $100.00. Given all these disappointing things, we won't be back. Listen - how you treat people matters! We are supporting your business, purchasing items with our hard earned money. We want quality products and helpful, polite service. If you don't provide that, then you shouldn't be surprised if your business struggles or closes.

I have been to this place many times. They have always been very good but yesterday our pineapple fried rice and papaya salad were inedible. We were really surprised because we used to love this place and we always got our Thai food from here. Sad to see this happen at our fav place. We ended up not eating the take out food. Really sad I hope they improve I will call and talk to the restaurant tomorrow as the staff are usually very friendly and see what happened.

Khao Soi is NOT Khao soi Very bland, nothing but overcooked noodles and bland broth. Traditional Khao soi has red onions, thicker broth, chicken. Very disappointed

All skins in the spicy basil duck dish. There are no basil and not spicy, how come it called spicy basil duck..there's no pineapple in the fried rice, did they just gave us the wrong item?

Food is terrible here. Pad Thai is rubbery and flavorless. Their beef dish is overcooked, you have to chew it like jerky. Was looking for authentic Thai food and it is not found here.

The food is awful. It is neither Thai nor Vietnamese nor any good. Basic thing such as a spring roll is horrific. It is a solid noodle bundle inside. The consistency of salami fried not enough to cook the wrapper. The lemon grass beef was so overcooked, they were hard to chew. Another time I visited, they served me stale baguette, when I complained they took it to the back and zapped it with a microwave and brought it back. And told me it is fine. Wrong in so many ways. Run away! I see many 5 star rating in Google local. Makes me question the quality of google reviews.

The food was not even average. The Tom ka was too sweet and watered down. It felt like they just microwaved the soup before serving. The Pad Thai was too soggy and tastes more like eggs than anything. The green curry was somewhat better than those too. The service was average. Asked to get our water filled up once we had already paid.

Food was terrible & overpriced!!! Ordered takeout. Discovered there were no utensils when I arrived at my HOTEL room. They should ask if u need utensils. $24 for eggplant/tofu (mostly onions & bell peppers, pre-fried tofu), tom yum soup (mostly white onions & sweet when it should be sour with lemongrass/galangal, $2 extra for shrimp) & rice ($2 dry rice). I'm Vietnamese & know Thai food well. This place should go out of business.

I ordered a Musamun dish. There was lots of meat in the dish, and a little piece of potato. There should have been carrots and more potatoes (to make it a more balanced meal), along with some tasty ingredients and spices. The brown rice was not very interesting, either. I was terribly disappointed. The only thing that I did enjoy was the fresh coconut juice. This dinner turned out to be not very good, and unnecessarily expensive. This dish was very constipating. (I certainly won't be revisiting this place.)

Update (Jan 2021) I have no idea what happened to this place. We had a Pad Thai, Tom Kha soup, Masumun curry and fried rice. Pad Thai had flaky and dry eggs, bland and dry noodles with sandy texture, and cardboard chicken that didn't taste of anything. Probably the worst Pad Thai I've had in a while. Fried rice again, completely bland and tasteless. Masumun curry had beef chunks in it, very few and again, tasteless. The only decent saving was the Tom Kha soup which wasn't too sour and was appropriate. But again, the prawns in it, completely tasteless. It is clear that something has happened to this restaurant. They are just dumping stale and not fresh meat (shrimp, beef, chicken) into their regular dishes, rather than crafting the dish around the ingredient. And again, that Pad Thai... completely dusty... Super disappointing. ---------- Your homely Thai restaurant with modern interior and surprisingly authentic Thai food. Chicken satays were surprisingly great. Pad Thai was great. This is one of the rare jewels in San Carlos / Belmont.

I was excited to try this place for the first time and ended up being Very disappointed. Order the Pad Thai and panang curry for take out. Pad Thai flavor was off, bland and overcooked noodles. The panang was bland and not quite what I expected it to be. Also ordered the papaya salad, which was not the traditional papaya salad that I would have expected. I was really hoping for good Thai but I was so disappointed in the meal. Cost was not worth it. The restaurant dine in area looked comfortable and staff was nice when I walked in to grab the take out, just sorely dissatisfied with the food.

My partner and I ordered yellow curry w/rice, spring rolls, and Pad Thai. My partner had The Pad Thai and only could get through 2-3 bites before they had to stop, they said it tasted really off and had a strange smell. Once i got closer to the pad thai i was able to smell it and honestly it was one of the worse smelling things i ever encountered when it came to food. It was so bad that we couldn’t even finish the curry or spring rolls as it ruined our appetite. As i was tossing it back in the bag it came i started gagging as i was able smell the noodles more. Honestly I would’ve made the short drive to restaurant to ask for a refund but the smell was so bad I just needed to get away from us.

Extremely slow service. Plus they forgot a dish we ordered which is usually no big deal, but we had to have the check changed which took a long time. Had to take the bill up to pay and leave after around an hour waiting. I’m normally a very patient person but this was ridiculous. Ordered the spicy snapper. It wasn’t spicy at all (and I’m not saying it wasn’t to my preferred heat level, it just wasn’t spicy. It was seasoned). Disappointed. It was otherwise delicious.

We ordered 5 dishes and they all TOO salty. And the Pad Thai was definitely not the one we all had before. And other dishes were salty and wet. And we waited for one hour for the food.
