Opinions de Meijin Ramen Bergenfield
LOVE this place! This is my go to for great ramen and Japanese dishes. My boyfriend and I come here all the time and its one of our date night spots. Great food, great staff and amazing ambiance. Definitely come here!
One of the best ramen spots in New York 🍜. Meijin delivers rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and generous portions every time. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently amazing quality. A must-visit for ramen lovers.
Went here for some lunch and I absolutely loved it, I got a salmon poke bowl and was t expecting anything too crazy but it was really good! It’s super cute and cozy inside too!
Delicious ramen with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. definitely will visit again.
When I lived on 88th and 94th and got sick, I came into this place craving ramen and healing. For over a few years now, when I go Meijin, I HAVE to order the spicy shredded pork. No if, ands, or buts. It’s one of my favorite ramens in the city but definitely the best in the UES. Just know though it says “spicy” it’s mild. As a non spicy eater it’s just enough if you’re not sick but if you are sick, this will nurse you back to life. 100. P.S. Thank you guys for being open on the snow storm sunday. Somehow made it from east harlem and had a fantastic meal! Wagyu potstickers and pumpkin tempura were awesome!
Very nice restaurant. We were very hungry when we arrived, and the food did not disappoint. We shared some spicy tuna sushi as a starter. I had rice with chicken, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. My wife ordered a beef ramen with noodles and corn, which was also excellent. The place is very popular. The décor is simple but very charming. I highly recommend this place.
What’s better than amazing food is when the service can match that, 10/10 all around EVERYONE was friendly and always made sure i was okay, it’s hard to dine out alone but they made me feel so comfortable. After a long week or if you’re coming with an empty stomach i recommend coming here !
I enjoyed my dining experience at Meijin. The staff was attentive and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I visited on a late weekday evening, so the restaurant was not crowded, which made the atmosphere relaxing. I ordered the Japanese fried chicken as an appetizer and found it enjoyable with the sauce and seasoning provided, although the chicken itself was a bit bland without them. For my entrée, I chose the spicy short rib ramen, which was very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Overall, I would return to explore more options on the menu.
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food! Came across this place and was not disappointed at all! Super good. Everything was a bit more expensive than my go-to place in Kips Bay but 100% worth it. The ramen was so good. Broth tasted amazing. Everything we got was perfect! Calamari, sushi all great. I was a big fan of the seating area too. The paper cranes on the ceiling were a cool addition! Staff was also very nice. For a Saturday Lunch, there was no wait.
We found this recommendation on tt and they did not fail us! We love the low lighting and the moment we walked in we were greeted and we sat at our table (no wait time). All the staff were friendly and polite. We all ordered the spicy miso ramen with a side of sushi (salmon and eel rolls). I appreciated that the spice was on the side but the ramen had a little kick on its own. They are celebrating 10 years! YAY! Come to Meijin you won’t be disappointed 🤌🏼
I often come here or order delivery, and it’s always amazing - delicious, consistent, and top quality. I especially want to highlight the rame, it’s absolutely outstanding! The flavor is rich and perfectly balanced, every part of the broth tastes incredible. The service is always warm and attentive. I’m so happy I found this place in the neighbourhood, truly one of the best spots in the city for Ramen.
Meijen Ramen is such a great spot. It’s my first time coming here and I’ll definitely be a repeat customer. The vibes… amazing, the food… delectable, and the service… incredible. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel right at home. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the pork broth was absolutely amazing. High recommend stopping by!
Me and my daughter came on a Friday night. The wait was about ten minutes. We were entertained by the paper cranes hanging from the ceiling. The food tasted wonderful! We ordered the seared scallops, soft crab buns & their chicken chasu ramen. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection and the soft crabs were crunchy and seasoned just right. The broth for the ramen was creamy and delicious, and the noodles were cooked well. As for dessert, we had Vanilla crepe cake - it was divine! Excellent finish to our dinner.
I had lunch with my boyfriend — delicious ramen and amazing food. Thanks to Abby for his service and especially for his honesty; by mistake I left a very large tip and he let me know. We need more honest people like him! I love the place, the vibe, the service, and the food. Highly recommended!
Their weekday Bento sets are honestly one of the best deals you will find in the UES . Starting at $14 you are getting a little taste of Japan right in the middle of your workday. Each set comes with a soba salad, warm miso soup and a perfectly shaped onigiri that’s simple yet so satisfying. Available Monday to Friday , 12-3 PM, dine-in only. But what makes Meijin really shines are their ramen. Specifically, their signature Washu Beef ramen which have been served over a decade. The Washu beef is incredible tender and so flavorful in every bite.
After a wonderful walk through the Guggenheim Museum, my friends and I were craving something hearty. Summer in New York felt as if it had suddenly been switched off — the weather outside was cool and autumn-like. That combination of hunger and chill led us straight to Meijin Ramen. The menu is impressively well thought out — we wanted to try almost everything. We started with the bao buns: pork for some of us, crab for others. The buns themselves could have been fluffier, but the fillings were flavorful. A solid four out of five. For ramen, we tried a few varieties. The beef ramen was hearty, with rich broth, firm noodles, and good-quality meat. The pork ramen turned out to be one of the best we’ve had — our friends especially loved it. The chicken ramen also didn’t disappoint. We added a salmon poke bowl, with fresh pieces of salmon and a spicy mayo — delicious, and it came with miso soup on the side. To finish, we ordered the matcha tiramisu. It was unusual, dense, and made with high-quality matcha — a creative and satisfying dessert. Overall, we left full and happy. The prices are fair for the quality, and Meijin Ramen is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Waiters camped my table of three. Usually I appreciate when a restaurant takes the time to check in on me, but for some reason today, three different waiters came to my table to ask if we were doing okay. These three did it on rotation as well, but only to our table or so it seemed. My friends and I (three girls in total) were coming to celebrate a birthday, and this happened after a long day of classes. As you can imagine, we weren’t the most dressed up. Otherwise, I don’t think we stood out too much, but it felt like we were being extra watched by the servers. This constant attention and our conversation repeatedly being interrupted by the waiters made the meal slightly unnerving. Hence, the low score on service. Otherwise, they did a good job ensuring our time was nice with constant supply of water. To be honest, if they simply asked how we were doing while refilling the waters, I wouldn’t have minded. But it felt strange having multiple waiters go out of their way to ask us “is everything okay?” every 20 minutes. Imagine being constantly checked up on to the point where I was asking myself, should something not be okay? Okay onto food review, I got the chicken chashu ramen, my friends got the salmon poké and spicy chicken ramen. Soup was very good! Not too salty, which is something I worry about when ordering ramen. Ramen noodle, mushroom (especially the mushroom), egg, and corn on my ramen bowl hit hard! Unfortunately, the main element, the chicken chashu was disappointing. The chicken was dry, lacked flavor, and felt a little rubbery. Portion size was amazing though. Last miscellaneous detail service tip was set to 20%, but that might be the norm for upper east side. Apparently the restaurant is celebrating their 10th year anniversary, so congratulations to them. Overall, nice restaurant but nothing extraordinary.
We sat at the bar cuz the line was too long to sit for a table. Our food came fairly quickly and it was yummy.
