Brunch at Brennan’s was great. We had the Eggs St. Charles and Eggs & Oyster Cocotte, and both were so good. The Bananas Foster was the perfect finish, and our brunch cocktails hit the spot. Definitely a New Orleans must.

Awesome redfish, gumbo and banana foster. Emily was sweet and very informational on the story behind banana foster. Matt the manager checked up on us once during dinner, and was very kind and welcoming. Def recommend.

I came to Brennan's for lunch solo and they treated me so well, food was delicious and the drinks were made well. I had the Eggs Hussarde, Ralph's Coffee and the Snicker's bar. Service was great, I did have to wait to get my table even though I had a reservation

Very nice restaurant with A1 service. We had the turtle soup as an appetizer, and it was excellent. It came with a generous portion of hot bread, which we really appreciated. For our main course, we had the duck confit and tried one Eggs Hussarde and one Eggs Sardou. Our favorite was definitely the Eggs Hussarde — the sauce was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend trying this dish.

The service, the garden and the yellow turtle swimming in the pond are worth the experience. Good seafood gumbo and the turtle soup - hopefully not the cute turtles in the garden! Banana frosted desert is great and the demo is amazing.

I’ve always wanted to eat here. I unfortunately came in between lunch and dinner. However the burger on the limited menu was phenomenal. The bar area is beautiful. I can’t remember what my drink was called but it was pink and sparkling and amazing! Can’t wait to come back for lunch or dinner one day

Excellent food and very attentive service! I would recommend the eggs sardou and the eggs hussarde. You also can’t miss on the original banana fosters.

Amazingggggg!! This place is a must do on your next NOLA trip!! The whole experience was a 10/10, the food was to die for and our servers were so sweet!! Shout out to Lynika who made the most amazing Bananas Foster and was so kind, and Miss D who was so knowledgeable about the menu! Would definitely recommend! Thank you for the incredible time!

This place was so amazing! The food, the staff, the ambiance! Incredible! We came here for our wedding anniversary and they took such good care of us. Every single staff member wished us happy anniversary. Our server was Terrance and he was the sweetest and funniest. For dessert, the bananas foster is a must! All the food was really good, can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Our bartender was AMAZING! She made the best drinks and even made the banana foster for us right at the bar. She set it up between the 4 of us and we all had first class seats for the show! Highly highly recommend!

Breakfast at Brennan's is famous for a reason! Shawn was absolutely amazing. He was very knowledgeable about both the history of Brennan's and all the menu items, offered some great food and drink recommendations, and gave us a great birthday experience complete with cotton candy, cake, ice cream, and a Brennan's apron as a gift! We also loved the breakfast-and-a-show spectacle of the classic World Famous Bananas Foster. Both my Eggs Benedict and the dessert were delicious, and the restaurant itself is so beautiful! The group was in agreement that this was the best breakfast of our Mardi Gras trip, so we can't wait to come back!

Celebrated our one year anniversary brunch at Brennan's and it truly lived up to the hype. I ordered the duck confit hash and it was packed with flavor. My husband got the grilled beef tenderloin and kept saying it was the best meal he’s ever had. Our server who looked just like Dave Franco was attentive, personable and made us feel celebrated the whole time. We ended with bananas foster (because you have to) and it was the perfect way to wrap up such a special brunch. The food, the service, the whole vibe everything just felt right for our anniversary.

Came here for an early dinner (get your reservations in early!!) and it was amazing! Expensive but amazing! The food was excellent, the staff was professional, and the dessert display was fun to watch! Would definitely come back here!

A lot of times when you see a place on TV, your let down when you actually go. That was not the case here. Everything was great. Food, service, atmosphere all was top tier. It is not often that I have two desserts but I did this time.

another place that needs no introduction, brennan's is a must if you're in the big easy, and an unforgettable spot for a date if you're looking to impress. be sure to order a brandy milk punch and a bananas foster, two things they've absolutely mastered over the years - and the latter - even invented. the bananas foster is still served table side, as per tradition, and is a real treat to watch.

I have been hearing, reading, watching and learning about Brennan's for nearly 50 years now. My family is from here but I grew up in Los Angeles. Only been here once before when I lived in Dallas when I was young and dumb. Growing up in SoCal we love our artichokes. I love a great Benedict like nothing else. The idea that those two things could coexist on a plate always enchanted me. One morning I was up early and decided to see if I could maybe get a reservation and bless my luck, I did. It far exceeded the internal hype, the decades of longing. The service is exceptional, the building is just lovely and the rooms near the bathroom that were open were worth a peek. The food made me tear up. I could say more but also I can't because it was such a special moment and I'm still a little verklempt. I'll just say the whole experience was magical, the lagniappe was lagniapping so incredibly hard and little me who dreamed of eating there was on cloud nine all day. If you're wondering if you should, the answer is yes. It's so worth it.

Went here specifically to have the Bansnas Fosters. All three courses were amazing. The Turtle soup is highly recommended. The staff were friendly and everyone seemed to be aware that it was our anniversary. Well worth a visit.

Brennan’s is known for their world-famous Bananas Foster, and the whole restaurant did not disappoint. The last time I ate here was 25 years ago, and it’s still just as magical. We were celebrating my birthday, and they truly went above and beyond. Every single staff member who walked past me wished me a happy birthday. The chef even sent out a little cream puff with strawberry on top and Boston cream in the middle—such a sweet surprise. Before dessert, the food was incredible. We started with oysters and the crab avocado toast (which came out on fire—absolutely amazing). I’m gluten-sensitive, so I skipped the bread portion, but the toppings were some of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. For mains, I had poached eggs with spinach—simple but absolutely perfect—and my friend had a duck-and-egg dish that she loved. I also had a cocktail similar to an old-fashioned, and it was delicious. Then came the famous Bananas Foster, which was every bit as amazing as I remembered. To top it off, they surprised me with an extra birthday dessert: a giant cloud of cotton candy with candles, hiding cake and ice cream underneath. I could enjoy the ice cream (gluten issues with the cake), but my friend devoured the rest. On top of it all, they gave me a Brennan’s apron as a birthday gift—such a thoughtful and fun touch. Overall, I was blown away by the food, the service, and the way they made me feel celebrated. Brennan’s is timeless, and this birthday will be one I’ll never forget.

Nothing to complain about here. Food was good. The dessert was amazing. My favorite part was the bananas foster (invented there) and the snickers dish. They adapted the menu to accomadate a vegan and a had a birthday (50th) surprise for a friend. Would come back.

I'm still reeling from the unforgettable experience I had at this incredible establishment. The staff were truly exceptional, with Tom at the bar being a standout - his warm hospitality and dedication to making our weekend and birthday celebration special will never be forgotten. We were so captivated by the place that we ended up visiting not once, not twice, but three times! Twice for Brunch and once for dinner. The food was simply sublime, a culinary masterpiece that left us craving for more. The service, however, was the real showstopper - attentive, prompt, and genuinely warm, it's undoubtedly the best I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, look no further - this place is an absolute must-visit destination that will leave you spellbound and eager to return.

The food was amazing! We had the banana upside down cake, the gulf fish with green beans, cheese grits, and the blueberry pancakes. The banana nut cake’s whip cream and candied nuts made it that much better. The cheese grits were great - not too rich - just right! The gulf fish with green beans and almonds in that lemon butter sauce was YUM - and the almonds gave it a nice crunch and texture! The blueberry pancakes were thick and tasted homemade - it was all just SO GOOD!! The atmosphere was really nice and high end - the outside patio courtyard is beautiful too! My only constructive critique was that the service felt disjointed and slow - the two servers didn’t seem to communicate, they seemed confused when we ordered an appetizer, and we thought they forgot about us after our coffee was dropped off. Maybe it was an off day for them. Otherwise, the food was AWESOME!

Such an incredible experience. Everything about this place is spectacular. From the service, to the decor and the ambiance, to the food. We came here for a birthday brunch for my friend, and they did so much to make it special. Our waiter Stephen R. was incredible and definitely played a part in making the experience so special. If I ever come back to Nola, I will definitely be returning!! I loved this place!

To end a special New Year's traveling with friends in New Orleans we got brunch reservations at Brennan's a month in advance. I've been here many times before and the service is always excellent The food is top-notch The service is fantastic and the atmosphere you can't beat it for that New Orleans touch!!!!!

Amazing place. Had a small team dinner there. Had a private room with a nice ante room with couches, Christmas tree and a salt n pepper shaker chess set. Very cool. Had the Jackson Salad, some Turtle soup, chicken Clemenceau, and the chocolate cake. Damn delicious.

Not a single complaint. Was lovely to have someone make Eggs Benedict (variation on menu - Eggs Houssard) for a change. Food, service and atmosphere, excellent

Came here to celebrate an anniversary- the table had a special sash and every staff member that stopped made sure to congratulate us. Turtle soup + Mac and cheese were very good. Definitely rec the bananas foster demo, cool to hear about the history behind the dish.

As my friend put it, Brennan’s is an institution in New Orleans and a must-try if you’re in town. Do book a reservation in advance as tables fill quickly. We went for Saturday Brunch/Lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. From the Duck Confit, to the soft shell crab, oysters, peaches and cream, coffee, cocktails, and finishing with THE original, bananas foster. The tableside service was impeccable and the atmosphere so unique and fun. It was a delightful way to start our day and a memorable experience.

Brennan’s has been my favorite restaurant in New Orleans so far, as a tourist! My husband and I shared the Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes and Eggs Hussarde, both were divine! To drink we had the Brennan’s Irish Coffee, which was fine, and the Brandy Milk Punch, which was delectable. We finished the meal with their Bananas Foster, which is prepared at the table and incredible. I will say, our first trip to New Orleans we could not make it to Brennan’s as the reservations were full. This trip we booked the reservation about a month ahead and got in just fine.

M

Elegant and emphatically Elegant! Emily provided us an experience that was simply excellent, from begining to end. The drinks were sublime and the food was exceptional. I highly recommend their bone in ribeye, and their banana foster for dessert.

S
Savor&Sparkle

What an amazing experience! We brought my husband here for his birthday while we stayed in New Orleans and we will definately be back everytime we come to New Orleans if its possible! The customer service is top notch, everyone is so kind and helpful. They went above and beyond for my husbands birthday from the start the table has a sash like pink ribbon across the table to show your celebrating a birthday, then before you leave you get your own Brennan’s Apron and a pink cotton candy plate that had a celebration cake on the inside with a candle on top! But lets get to the food… Everything was impressive that we ate but the Banana Foster took the cake! Besides the banana foster table side presentation it is the best dessert i’ve ever had considering its so simple! You won’t be dissatisfied with anything you get and the building is just gorgeous with so much history to see!

E
Emmy Malinovsky

The eggs sardou is the best, most mind-blowing dish I’ve ever eaten! The crispy artichoke bottoms are definitely not from a can and each component was cooked to perfection. I will dream of this flavor for years to come! The whole meal was outstanding and surpassed my expectations - I wondered if it might be a tourist trap but it was the highlight of the trip.

Finally getting around to posting reviews for the places we chose for our wedding back in March- Brennan’s was exceptional from start to finish. If you are contemplating having a party, reception or event here, look no further. Our food was perfect, the drinks were spot on, and our dedicated party host and server went above and beyond for us, even with our cake cutting service. It is so hard to find truly great catering with delicious food for groups of 20 or more anywhere, and our 3 course meal was so fresh and everyone raved about it. I’m still thinking about it all this time later. Thank you Brennan’s…I could not have dreamed of another place I wanted for our wedding, given we are from Texas and wanted a real NOLA experience celebrating at a place owned and operated by one of the greatest hospitality families of all time.

Our dinner at Brennan's was nothing short of a five-star experience. Despite the restaurant being typically packed on a Friday, we were seated on the Terrace, which provided a wonderfully quiet and charming escape. It was the perfect atmosphere, and we even enjoyed the small water fountain that is home to a delightful crew of 10 turtles (one of them an albino!). The service was truly the highlight. Our server was beyond excellent—attentive, extremely helpful, and proactively sought answers from the chef regarding our questions. The overall supervision was also impressive; the head of the servers and other staff were constantly present, making rounds to ensure every table was perfectly taken care of. Our party of five enjoyed a variety of dishes, and every single plate was prepared and presented beautifully. Even the kid's dinner was surprisingly delicious! The level of attention to detail across the entire operation was evident and appreciated. We couldn't have asked for a better dining experience.

This place is worth the hype! Fancy ambiance but still very casual. Feels like you're in a french cafe. Decor is vintage, its a timeless charm. They do recommend that you make reservations 60 days in advance. But if you're like me, you don't know where you'll be in 60 days! So don't worry, just be preppared to wait. I walked in, no reservation, on a saturday right before 12. I asked for the var, and sat to wait, i was in no rush. They sat me at a table within 15 minutes! The place is very nice, staff was pleasant, very attentive. I started with their Bloody Bull, which was amazing. If you don't like bloody marys then they have mimosa, or coffee... if you want no alcohol but i mean.. why? They are known for their irish coffee, do that! Any ways, they have great options on their menu i went with the taste of Brennan, which gave me 3 options to choose from. The waiter did mention they change, so you may not get the same options. I love that they had sweet and savory options. I started with the turtle soup, it was amazing, and a bit spicy but good spicy. Then i had the eggs benedict, it was awesome! I finished with the bread pudding (it has raisins) it was sooo delicious! Oh, and their fresh, warm french bread is soooooo good!!!! Don't forget to save some, you'll want to soak up all that egg and benedict sauce with that bread! By the time i was done with my meal a line had formed. If you get the chance to come in, please do.

We didn't get the Bananas Foster, but the turtle soup (make sure you add the sherry) was delicious. The pan fried gulf fish was cooked perfectly, served over a bed of creamed spinach that was delicious and not too rich. Great attentive service.

Went to Brennens for brunch today and it definitely blew my expectations out the water. I knew it was a place that was raved about but wasn’t sure if it was overhyped. The atmosphere is amazing, super pretty and cute photo vibes even has a self playing piano! Our server was super friendly, all of the staff was to be honest, and very knowledgeable about all of the food and the history of the bananas foster, which is a must try! We almost went without it but are so glad we did because even if you’re not a huge banana fan it’s just absolutely delicious and work it. I got the shrimp and grits and hands down best meal I’ve had for the entire trip! Also if you ask to have 1 egg hussarde and 1 egg sarduo they can do that but we recommend just doing the egg hussarde as that was in our opinion insanely good and better than the other one. If you just get a meal it’s roughly $20-30 per person but if u get the bananas foster it’s more like $30-40

S

The food and service here were great! I had the chickory coffee a bloody Mary to start. Fresh baguette with stamped butter, and turtle soup followed. Finished with eggs Benedict. My friend had the crab cake - breaded, but not too much. A real crab cake! All super tasty, but Stevenee was just the right amount of attentive and personable. A great start to the day.

Brennan's is an institution here in New Orleans. From the old smoking lounges up stairs to the piano accompanied bar. Everything about this place speaks to an elegance no longer seen in modern dinning. It's an old world experience that I recommend to anyone with the extra $$$. Our party of three was roughly $325. $100 per person would be a fair estimate. I have the steak tartare, The duck, and the bananas foster.

Last day in NOLA we were blessed with an incredible meal featuring succulent duck, savory squash and a heavenly Lemon Tart that left us in awe. It was perfectly topped off with a tour of the entire building including the kitchen by the amazing Manager David Weick. What a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you David!

Our Saturday night at brennan’s was the highlight of our weekend in NOLA . As soon as you walk in, you know this place is special. The dinning room is beautiful without being stuffy. The service is wonderful with an attention to detail. We were a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed. The steak tartare was decadent and delicious but the soft shell crab was the best I’ve ever had. Of course their famous bananas foster was the star of the night

Brennan's has been on my list for years. We recently returned to New Orleans after not visiting for 30 years and breakfast at Brennan's was top on our foodie list. The experience from start to finish was pure class and extraordinary for the taste buds. We began with Turtle Soup and a salad. Next came Eggs St. Charles, which was rich and melt-in-your-mouth. No trip to Brennan's is complete without Banana's Foster, which was created by Miss Ella Brennan back in 1951. The atmosphere, service, which is excellent and borders on showmanship, in the best possible way, and quality of food were remarkable. This is a must for anyone visiting New Orleans!

Brennan’s is truly a New Orleans treasure with a history as rich as its flavors. This iconic French Quarter restaurant has been serving guests since 1946 and is world-famous for creating Bananas Foster, one of the city’s most celebrated desserts. My daughter and I chose the three course chef’s choice option, which included a Caesar salad, stone shrimp, and a Snickers-inspired dessert that was absolutely divine. I paired mine with a lovely glass of Pinot Grigio, while my partner enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak. Even the warm starter bread was memorable. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was kind, attentive, and made the evening feel extra special. The ambiance was beautiful, blending fine dining with a casual atmosphere that made us feel both elegant and comfortable at the same time. Dining here feels like stepping into history with the classic New Orleans charm and timeless building. I really wanted to try their legendary Bananas Foster, but since it is prepared for two I will save that for next time. And there will definitely be a next time. Between the food, the service, and the ambiance, this was an incredible experience. Love New Orleans, love the French Quarter, and absolutely loved Brennan’s.

This is a piece of history along with a culinary experience of a lifetime. It was our first time here, yet had been referred to us by several other friends of ours who know how we roll... Major foodies yet the experience is what we seek. They did not disappoint! From the appetizers, the bottle of wine, the Duck, and then to the epic ending... Their Dessert and cocktails to pair. The lemon tart .. oh my goodness - was the perfect layers of flavor profiles.. The banana's foster was even more than a personal flombey experience as it was delicious. I was amazed and with that would say 10 out of 5 stars The atmosphere was awesome, and I saw the whole operation on the front of house being similar to the show the Bear, which I also appreciated 👍

What a great experience!!! We went in without a reservation and they sat us fairly quickly. Very friendly and polite staff. We were greeted by the manager and our server was so awesome and personable. My GF and I were in Nola from Miami because I had never been there so my gf decided to take me and it was just amazing. The food looked great but it tasted even better. The crab cake appetizers is out of this world and the “fried banana dessert” prepared table side while the server is providing the story behind it, it’s just so unique and incredible experience. Cannot wait to go back!

Brennan's is a classic New Orleans fine-dining establishment and a must-visit, if only for the authentic Bananas Foster experience. The iconic dessert was created here in 1951 by Chef Paul Blangé and Ella Brennan herself. I sat at the bar and ordered it, and boy was it an experience! They bring a small stove on a cart right to your table or bar seat and make it in front of you, all while explaining the ingredients and its history. It tasted really good, too! Since the tableside preparation is the true spectacle, make sure you sit at the bar or make a reservation for a table so you can enjoy the presentation up close. This is a culinary piece of history and a delicious, interactive dessert that I'd say is a definite must-try.

Brennan's is historic and it lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was perfect for brunch and the service was impeccable. The food was great also, we got the crab cake, seafood gumbo, shrimp and grits, Scotch egg, and of course we got the bananas foster. I knew the bananas foster was going to be good, but it exceeded my expectations. It's a must get as they flambé it table side. It's a great place for a special occasion.

MAKE THAT RESERVATION, it is so worth it. This was our first time in New Orleans, and I was unsure if Brennan’s was one of those silly French Quarter spots or the real deal. Upon entering, I was astounded by the beautiful atmosphere, the welcoming service, and gorgeous decorations for the holidays. I wish I had scheduled more time to have more than the drinks, appetizer, and dessert my fiancé and I enjoyed, but alas we had to go to a cemetery tour. The table side service was impeccable, the oysters to die for, the bananas foster flambé unbelievable. This place is pure class, the real deal.

Christmas Eve breakfast was a marathon of good eating. Just a short walk from our hotel Brennan's was everything we thought it would be. Classy, great service, and well prepared food. It was nice to see people dressed up for breakfast only a block from Bourbon Street. The kitchen knows how to poach eggs, something most places cannot do very well. I included the check in the photos so you won't be surprised; it was a special occasion for us. Yes, you can have bananas Foster for breakfast, it is fruit. Even the butter pats are engraved.

We stopped in and was able to get seating at the bar area. The food and drinks were awesome. The bartender was very present and even helped with recommendations for our evening. A must would be the Egg St Charles. Top of the list for brunch items!

I visited Brennan's with friends for brunch on New Year's Day and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in we were pampered the staff was friendly informative and genuinely fun to talk to. The food was absolutely delicious as always and we had a fantastic time enjoying the festive atmosphere. Brennan's is a must stop for bananas Foster if you're in New Orleans its iconic and never disappoints. I'm making a point to have a meal here every time I'm in the area. Truly top notch in every way.

Brunch at Brennan’s was absolutely fantastic — the food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. We were in New Orleans for a long weekend and had to visit the place where Bananas Foster was born. We started by sharing the baked apple, crab cake, and brûléed grapefruit — each one better than the last. For my entrée, I had the croque madame, which was rich, perfectly executed, and incredibly satisfying. And of course, we finished with the iconic Bananas Foster, originated right here at Brennan’s in the 1950s. Watching it prepared tableside was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. A must-visit when you’re in NOLA — we’ll absolutely be back

Incredible food, amazing staff and a historic building! Eggs hussarde, duck confit hash, and bananas foster were beautifully presented, delicious and memorable. The gumbo and turtle soup appetizers were great, but just on par with other nice restaurants in the area. Staff is knowledgeable about the history of the building and dishes as well. The stories were interesting and added to the atmosphere.

It’s a magical place that truly takes you back in time. The food is absolutely worth the price. The waiters are extremely polite and attentive. The music is perfectly curated and fits the atmosphere beautifully. The banana dessert with ice cream has a unique story behind it, and they prepare it right in front of you before serving it.

A lovely dinner — highly recommend the turtle soup and couchon de lait. Perfectly spiced and indulgent dishes! Portions are great but not huge, and banana foster didn’t disappoint. A gentle warning— the restaurant was a bit more upscale than we expected —take the opportunity to dress up!

First off, I have to mention how nice and friendly all the servers are, especially Bailey! She was so kind, always had a smile, and was very attentive. Now, for the food...talk about delicious! Everything was so flavorful and beautifully plated, especially the banana foster experience you get! Definitely will be coming back so I can try more dishes (and get the banana foster again lol!)

We brought friends from out-of-town here (first time for them). We all enjoyed our selections. Shared plates and had some lagniappe cotton candy (long story). Service was excellent. Food, of course, delish. And a wonderful environment to dine.

We spent several days in New Orleans and ate at a few fine dining places, but Brennan's was by far the highlight of our culinary adventures in New Orleans! We came in for brunch, and every minute was superb. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is so beautifully decorated and pleasant. We started with a delicious Irish coffee and Bloody Mary. My crab cake appetizer was really special, creatively done with the freshest ingredients and perfectly fried exterior. The turtle soup is a must try! The shrimp and grits had a fun presentation twist, and my husband's duck confit hash browns were out of this world. Of course, we got the bananas foster for dessert. They make the ice cream locally and prepare it in a special way so it doesn't turn to soup with the banana and sauce. It was so delicious and such a fun experience. The "cherry on the cake"? The coffee with chicory is probably the best coffee I've ever had!

I’m always nervous about renowned tourist favorite restaurants but Brennan’s is always amazing, the servers and hostesses are welcoming, the food and cocktails uniformly perfect and the decor and atmosphere amazing. This time I by mistake made a reservation for March instead of February - but despite the fact the restaurant was fully booked - they found a way to get us in without a wait!! Amazing 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

We just went for drinks and the bananas foster! Didn't disappoint! The atmosphere is upscale creole in historic The French Quarter. The decor is stunning and the staff are professional and kind.

My son and I made Sunday brunch reservations after seeing rave online reviews, and Brennan’s did not disappoint. We were seated immediately upon arrival at a double-linen, eloquently organized, low-top table in the dining room, with views of the courtyard. I enjoyed the turtle soup as an appetizer and the perfectly prepared duck confit hash for my entree. My son was delighted with his gumbo soup and his medium-rare hanger steak with a sunny-side-up egg. They did not skimp on the alcohol in either our Brandy Milk Punch or Irish coffee. Of course, we had their world-famous Bananas Foster prepared table-side for our dessert. This was our second restaurant during our New Orleans vacation, and we used it to set the bar for what to expect from fabulous food and service. Door man. Excellent service, and every single staff member greeted you when you walked by. Brilliant linens and silverware. They even had someone who scraped the breadcrumbs off the table between servings. Only a collared shirt is required for brunch. The price is consistent with the experience, food, and ambiance. I would highly recommend Brennan’s for an upscale restaurant experience.

Brennan's is an absolute must in New Orleans. We opted for the $80 tasting menu instead of ordering à la carte, and it was the right call — every single dish was delicious. The standout courses were the oysters and the redfish, both exceptional. The famous bananas foster was not included in the tasting menu, but so many tables around us were ordering them that we got to watch the tableside preparation — a show in itself. The experience was unhurried and elegant, but the food arrived relatively quickly. Highly recommend the tasting menu for anyone who wants to get a real sense of what Brennan's can do. We'll be back.

We came for a late night dinner at the bar during Mardis Gras. We were seated right away and the bartenders were so friendly and entertaining and engaging. It was an excellent meal and so nice to chat while we ate. We shared a few options and everything was excellent. We have the little crab claws to start with some baked oysters. Both were delicious and perfect for sharing. For the mains, we split the steak dish and a rock shrimp dish. They went very well together and were so yummy!! The Mac and cheese was also great for sharing and I have a bourbon cream to finish. They were even nice enough to make a gin fizz. It was perfect!

Brennan’s is pure New Orleans magic. Our server, Tori, made the experience unforgettable. She prepared the Banana Foster tableside with confidence, flair, and genuine warmth—and took the time to walk us through the real history behind it, which made it even better. She explained that Bananas Foster was created right here at Brennan’s in the 1950s, when the Brennan family was looking to showcase bananas, which were arriving in New Orleans in huge quantities through the port. The dessert was named after Richard Foster, a close friend of the Brennans and chairman of the New Orleans Crime Commission. That bit of local history, paired with the live preparation, made the moment feel iconic—not touristy. The restaurant itself is elegant, classic, and unmistakably New Orleans. Upscale without being stiff. Timeless without feeling dated. Tori’s knowledge, personality, and attention to detail elevated the entire meal. If you come to Brennan’s—and you absolutely should—ask for her and don’t skip the Banana Foster. Watching it made where it was born is something special. An essential New Orleans experience, done right.

A bit expensive, but worth the money. Brennan's was a great spot for Friday brunch with my partner. The seat we got was intimate and set a bit off the side with a great view of the courtyard and interior. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious - appetizers, entree, and dessert included. The crab cake might have been the best I've ever had. Plus their Irish coffee? I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Everything was just right. Compared to some other New Orleans staples like Arnauds and Galatoires, I recommend Brennans every time. It was an excellent meal and experience.

A NOLA institution! The service and setting are absolutely impeccable. Our server was phenomenal and didn’t make a bad recommendation all night. Sommelier made a great pairing off the wine menu - something new from California that ended up being perfect for the duck and the redfish. Must get the bananas foster! Invented there and the table side prep is fun.

Absolutely had a great experience dining at Brennan’s. I tried the Taste of Brennans’s, my friends had the Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes as well as the Cinnamon Roll. We decided to taste each other’s dish. Each one was delicious. We would also like to give a shout out and a huge thank you to our phenomenal waiter Alfredo H. He was so kind, very attentive, was the life of the room. A lot of our great experience was thanks to Alfredo. Would go back not only for the food but also to get the chance of meeting him again.

Brunch was amazing from the service to the food to the dining space. Our server Lynika and her team mate Destiny were both so helpful and awesome. Lynika gave suggestions and answered every question we had plus everything we got was delicious that she said. Even though we were pleasantly full we had to get the bananas Foster which they do table side. We had the bloody Mary's and coffee. Our meals were scotch egg, eggs st. Charles, duck confit hash, and the steak and eggs. I really enjoyed my duck but the best thing was Eggs St Charles, which was recommended. Thank you for an incredible experience and meal.

100% Gem!! You must eat at Brennan's when visiting NOLA. Some of the most creative brunch dishes I have ever seen. FYl they created the banana foster so you have to get one when you come here just saying! Food was on point in every way. The cheery atmosphere and staff is very proper and considerate you get top notch service! Went for breakfast and it was fantastic. I definitely recommend the turtle soup the flavors were amazing. I went with the Eggs Owen and my wife got the Eggs Sardou both dishes came out hot and picture perfect amazing mmmmm...They were phenomenal everything from the service to food was spot on and overall we will definitely be there again next visit. Loved the waiter that did our bananas foster he was amazing and very informative! 100% recommend!

This was a 5 star experience for my husband and I. We are on a collective birthday trip here NoLa and eating here was an EXCELLENT choice. The hostess was incredibly sweet and accommodating. We made a reservation, which we recommend, and were seated right when we arrived, and our server addressed us by name which was an excellent touch. We were quickly brought water and we had a brief moment to enjoy the cute, pretty room we were in. We went at brunch, so we had a reduced menu but TONS of options. Our server, Nahariz, was incredible, wonderful, funny, hospitable, and knowledgeable. She was very aware that we were snapping photos and gave us space to do so. She recommended excellent cocktails. We had the crab cakes and turtle soup for appetizers. This was the best crab cake my husband has ever had. I loved it as well. The apple salad and chive remoulade made it light and refreshing. I had the eggs houssarde for my main and my husband had the duck confit hash. Both excellent. Of course we ate the bananas foster, which Nahariz did table side while educating us on the history of the dessert. We were given a piece of birthday cake as well, which was very nice. The restaurant is beautiful, each room so unique. They let us walk around and take pictures, which I love, and we felt like we had an excellent introduction to a New Orleans staple. A last shout out to Bar Manager Brittney for listening to my positive commentary on the phone and helping with a side issue that arose as we were leaving. We told her we loved the cocktails we had, the Gentilly and the Lower Ninth, and she shared some excellent information about the cocktails. Very knowledgeable! From the Hostess to our waitress, to the Management, Brennan's was such a wonderful example of customer service, hospitality, and great cooking. Thank you!

Loved the food and the atmosphere. The services was ok. At times it seemed awkward. The server was pushy. The food was exquisite. The portion sizes were on the smaller end. However the food was definately satisfying. Had several cocktails as well. The Mushroom Omelette and Shrimp and Grits were great. The bacon is truly thick cut. The Brandy Milk Punch was so "breakfast cocktail". The vanilla and nutmeg brought out the best in the brandy. The Lower Ninth Ward had a tropical feel to it. The atmosphere is scenic. The piano, staircase, dinning room, and bar to name a few. Brennans is elegant enough for dreßing to i.press minus any head coverings. Also stop by for your banan foster experience.

I was disappointed. I chose this restaurant because they had turtle soup which was a favorite of mine when I was a kid 60 years ago. The soup looked like I remembered and they added sherry as I remembered but unfortunately it had curry in it and I hate curry. The shrimp boil was lukewarm but edible. The outstanding dish was the bread pudding, that was excellent.

We had a delicious meal at Brennan’s. Our group was seated in a private room with brick walls, which gave it a charming and unique atmosphere. The appetizer (bruleed grapefruit) and dessert (lemon something) we had were the best we had the whole week, which was quite a statement as we had a lot of very good food. The entrées, on the other hand, were good, but somehow not as impressive. Service was good.

This is a very nice place to eat. Usually. We have been here several times over the years. This time must have been an exception. The fish wasn't bad but it wasn't to my liking. Didn't really care for the sauce or whatever. It was cooked in over it. But usually the place is very very good. Could have just been my taste that day was off. Service and atmosphere were both excellent.

I tried "Taste of Brennan's" combo: turtle soup, shrimp boil, and bread pudding for 38 dollars. I particularly liked the shrimp boil, it was so very flavorful that I had a strong urge to lick the plate. The turtle soup was a bit of disappointment, I expected a lot more and more unique flavor. It was good, just not great. The bread pudding was very sweet, I ate about half of it. Overall, performance ratio was very good. Note: reservation time is just a suggestion. Were asked to sit and wait past our reservation time. We were situated about 10-12 minutes after the original reservation time. We were not late, in fact we arrived a few minutes early.

We love this NOLA treasure! We had reservations for dinner and were excited to eat at one of NOLAs finest. We were disappointed in this visit. Unfortunately it was our waitress that soured the meal for us. From the moment we were seated she didn’t miss a chance to be rude. We were a group of 4 with a vegetarian restriction for one of us. I had the turtle soup, pork belly, and bread pudding and wine. Everything was delicious!! Everyone enjoyed their order. It would have been perfect if not for the sour cometary from our designated waitress.

We came in around 7 pm and there was already a line, more than 1 hour. After being seated around 8:30 pm, we quickly placed our order, fish. Turtle soup, fioe gras, crab cake. I would say that everything was fine but nothing out of the ordinary. The frost banana was a must try and my feelings were the same as the rest food. There are many good restaurants in New Orleans and this one doesn't touch my taste buds.

I had company from the Philippines and also her birthday weekend so I decided to bring her there. The atmosphere was on point. Our waiter, Christian was attentive. He dust away bread crumbs as it should be. My guests love the dishes they ordered. Me on the other hand was disappointed. I had turtle soup. Soup was tasty but the sherry was too weak. I dont drink but I love sherry in my turtle soup. I ask for extra sherry but still no taste of sherry. Duck confit, crab cake, shrimp and grits, blacken chicken and seafood gumbo were delicious. My sister had the pancakes which were fluffy and soft. It is a big stack. Its probably good for 3 people. I ordered a virgin bloody Mary and our waiter, Christian came with only a half glass full because they were out of the mix. I would think a good bartender will know how to make a virgin bloody Mary from scratch. We had to have the banana Foster but it was to our disappointment. We hardly tasted the rum in the caramel sauce. The banana can be a little riper but otherwise it was ok. Don't see anything real special about it. It seems like for the price I paid that Brennan's will use better sherry and rum.

L

The bruleed grapefruit was my favorite part of the meal. Everything was good but that was exceptional. The atmosphere is very old school and the food is good but not fantastic. The alcoholic pairings were pretty decent and it feels pretty decadent to have breakfast at Brennan's. The standout is really the service they are awesome. Everyone who comes anywhere near your table is really dedicated to making sure you have a great experience.

We were looking forward to dining here, and Brennans did not disappoint. Very high quality throughout the experience. Seafood gumbo (app) was excellent. The Foie Gras (app) was over the top great. The filet flavor was excellent, but it was served medium to medium well when it was ordered medium rare, and the potatoes weren't tasty at all. The poussin was flavored well, but also a bit overcooked. The shells & cheese (side) was great, and the Bananas Foster excellent. Inclusive of the bottle of wine, the prices were high but fair for the great quality. No question we would revisit Brennans. Rashad (waiter) was very good, and the sommelier superb and very approachable.

There are many pictures of the atmosphere and the service was top notch, but it is 2:19 AM and I woke up out of my sleep by how bothered I was about the food at Brennans. So disappointed and this place came highly recommended. I ordered my steak medium and it came out rare and I didn’t notice it because the first bite was ok. The next piece was not, and the flavor was just bad. The steak was already room temp, they probably were letting it cool after they cut and plated it so it wouldn’t bleed when presented because it wasn’t cooked how I wanted it. I was not happy that they cut my steak. I truly wish I took more pics…I must be spoiled by Texas because this was not it. The rock shrimp boil, bland. We literally left hungry and went to Mambo’s around the corner to have dinner. I hate I didn’t say anything, but I feel like they knew I was disappointed because they gave us an apron as a souvenir. Maybe they give them to everyone, but I didn’t see them being passed out.

A
Alex Knight

Service and ambiance was great but the food was just ok. The $85 dollar steak was not even as good as Texas Roadhouse and the sauce had a very strange flavor like eucalyptus not sure why. The blackened fish with curry was not a curry but a splash of sauce very under whelming The bananas needed to be caramelized longer too much of a rush to finish the cook at table side. Birthday fun desert was awesome and fun.

Make sure you don’t get John as your waiter. Our experience was five stars for everything else. All of the rest of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We heard other waiters explaining the menu to guest and giving them recommendations. John would put plates in front of us. We would say thank you and get no reply. While walking out, I told him bye, and to have a good day he completely ignored me and walked straight past me. Very rude. It sucks to have such a great experience being tainted by a rude waiter.

Went for my birthday brunch celebration. Food was ok but not up to expectation of going to such a fancy place. Ricotta pancakes, fried potatoes, some goat cheese blintzes, creamed spinach. I am I-hop could probably do a better job. Wait staff was not good. Had to ask three times for lemon for my water. Seemed more attentive to other tables. Not really impressed. Hope they do better for dinner but that won’t be until a while. In all , it was great I got to experience Brennan’s for my bday but could have been better. Oh, did get a complimentary cotton candy confetti and ice cream cake, so that was nice!

02-22-2026. Would have been 5 star review rating had our server, Jamie, paid attention to our table. Had to ask for bread, had to ask for refills of our iced tea every single time, dirty dishes and glasses left on our table. Food was wonderful but service with Jamie was lacking.

Food was amazing, service was the worst we received in our visit to New Orleans. Ashley D was our waitress (according to our receipt). She was rude, snippy, and short - it wasn’t just us, it was all her tables. I heard the two tables next to us complaining about the same. When people are spending hundreds of dollars on food and one of their few evenings in the city at a nice establishment, they expect to be treated with at least common decency. Most of the time it felt like she was grabbing for any and all upsells that she could but then for dessert steered us clear of the bananas foster. We still ordered it and realized it was because she didn’t want to make it table side! There was a lovely man dressed in a suit giving a great display and story with their bananas foster but we did not receive that unfortunately. It was a truly bizarre experience and bummed it was the way we spent our last evening in New Orleans! Everyone else we encountered in the establishment was absolutely lovely! And the food was incredible.

Loved our thanksgiving experience here last year… decided to make it an annual tradition and to my dismay by far one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my life. Being with my family made it special but the service was mid compared to last year and the food left much to be desired. Bland and boring options… even the photos of the food were blah. Loved the vibes our first time but it just was lacking. Took 7 or 8 minutes before anyone approached the table. Who was who was never established…well actually Jen let herself be known. When I inquired about whether or not an appetizer was served hot or cold … she said hot with conviction and it was cold not hot… they just seemed discombobulated and disconnected… I swear at least 3-4 times things dropped in there… yes accidents happen but energy is real and it was off and manifesting in various ways throughout. We will be back but not for thanksgiving. R’evolution and a couple others consistently offer great flavor and service. Below are just a couple entrees from our table. The flash was the only thing giving them “presence” in the pictures.

M
Matthijs Hagedoorn

Brennan’s has a marvellous location and a truly mesmerising atmosphere. You arrive expecting something special, and reservations are clearly essential. It was very busy, though even with a reservation we waited about 25 minutes for the table, which set the tone a bit more transactional than welcoming. Service was polite but distant; without much eye contact or smiles it’s easy to feel more like a number than a guest. Tables lingered uncleared and no one asked about allergies. Drinks took, just like the food, quite a while and the wine needed a reminder before it appeared. The Majesty's Handbag is surely recommended but keep in mind it's a shared drink with straws. The menu shows creativity, yet execution needed more attentjon. Several dishes eventually arrived but where cold. A few flavours were surprisingly muted. Brennan’s already has the setting people come for. With tighter organisation at the front, warmer hospitality and sharper pacing, the experience could match the atmosphere.

Wanted to love this place. It’s absolutely beautiful and while the staff is very kind and polite, the service was atrocious. They sent our appetizers to the wrong table leading to our mains being left out in the kitchen to go cold. We had to inquire about the food in order to get service. No water refills. Not much attention in general. The food was only ok. It did not make up for the lack of good service. I’ve never had grits that i had to salt myself. They did comp some items but, overall a huge disappointment. For the prices they charge, the service should match.

Super disappointed with our experience. I brought a culinary group for brunch on a Tuesday at 9:30am. The waiter had to come back multiple times to tell us that they were out of things. I understand a couple of options might be sold out, but not to this extent. It started with their Duckie cocktail, which was explained to us that the drink was served in a bathtub. And how fun does that sound. You can imagine our disappointment to have it served with in a regular glass without any forewarning that they were out of the bathtubs. I've included the marketing photo to compare. They were out of the Blue Mountain coffee experience, their traditional king cake, their lemon dessert, just to name the ones we had requested when ordering. The waiter clearly knew about some of them but didn't say anything until it was too late to order anything else due to our tour schedule. It was a truly lackluster experience.

Our experience at Brennan’s was really disappointing. When we first arrived, one of the hosts a female brunette was extremely rude and dismissive. She told us we couldn’t come in for no clear reason. Thankfully, her colleague Joe, an African-American gentleman, was incredibly kind and professional honestly one of the nicest people you could ever meet. After speaking with the manager, we were finally allowed to sit at the bar so we could at least try their famous Bananas Foster show. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere left a really bad impression. The bartender, Tony, was rude and unprofessional honestly, a horrible person. He came across as classist and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we sat down. For a place with such a reputation, the service was shockingly bad. Definitely not worth the hype.

overpriced and under delivered, the duck breast has no flavor, and very chewy and thick skin +fat. The fish dish is disappointing. The dessert ice cream smells milk powder. The service was good and the decor is nice. The breads are good. other than that the food that does not meet expectation.

Food is decent but service left us speechless from the moment we were seated. Our server’s name was John R. Let’s start from the top. We were seated and when our server came to greet us, he asked if this was the Wang party. When we told him it’s the Song party, he dismissively replied, “Yes, Wang.” I’m sorry, but Wang and Song are very different names and not hard to say..? Next, he asked if we would like regular iced water or sparkling water. Two of us asked for ice water, and the other two wanted sparkling water. However when we said “sparkling water”, he looked at us and said, “The normal water is filtered don’t worry, I’ll just get you all normal water.” What? I wasn’t concerned about filtration! After which he dropped off the menus and immediately left. At that time we didn’t think anything more of that- we were still taken aback from the name and water issues. It wasn’t until later when we realized how different his behavior was when serving other tables because he would jump into explaining the menu and expressing recommendations. We were, on the other hand, left with googling images and menu vocabulary since we are not familiar with many of the items. When it was time to order, we had to flag down our waiter who promptly wrote down what we wanted and then left (again, no speaking aside from thank you). When our food came, one girl’s dish (scotch egg) looked very empty on her plate and there was a small container of sauce. She wasn’t sure what the sauce was for so she flagged down the waiter, and turns out, her dish was completely missing a key item, the meat! Turns out the sauce was supposed to be poured over the meat! If she hadn’t asked, we never would have been told that half her dish was missing! Keep in mind, John walked by our table multiple times and never mentioned a thing. Another girl’s dish (the artichoke Benedict) was served cold from the outside to the actual artichoke inside. We notified the server, who took the dish back to the kitchen and they eventually brought out a hot one. For a “high class” restaurant that has 2 servers per table and expensive food, the service was unbelievably rude and lacking attention to detail. At this point we were starting to feel like we were being slighted on purpose. As the meal continued, our head server John never came to check on us. At this point, we began to observe his behavior more and it became even more outrageous. When he dropped off the dessert menu, it was literally “dropped off” on our table and then he turned around and left. He wore a fake smile when facing us, but when leaving his smile immediately dropped and his face looked incredibly unhappy. We thought, maybe he’s having a bad day? But then we would see him interact warmly with other tables, including 2 new parties who just walked in. We learned more about the menu listening in to their conversations than when we were ordering! Again, had to wave him down to order the bananas foster and the same thing happened: fake smile that was immediately dropped when he turned around. Another gentleman in training, Dale, had also did a little waiting on our table and he didn’t speak much but was attentive with refilling water or getting plates. He was also our bananas foster maker and  was delightful. He said it was his first time doing it but did great! Our back waiter, Dayton, was also attentive and caring and asked how our meal was when we finished. I had to omit some things due to length, please see pictures for full review. I’ve included a video of the typical spiel he gave to other tables but not us. Idk if we had done something to offend him to have received such awful service from such a highly regarded establishment. I’d like to think he’s not racist, but we were absolutely treated differently than other guests from the very beginning of his time with us. We will absolutely remember this experience for the rest of our lives and not for a good reason.
