Opinions de King Shabu-Shabu Beverly Hills
Loved the vibe of this place! It feels modern, clean and upscale yet also relaxed, warm and inviting. Easy parking in their own lot Great shabu shabu, Japanese bbq, and other specials! - the broth choices are delicious and the meats and veggies are high quality! My favorite broth is the sukiyaki which is a little sweeter and the Tonkatsu which was creamy. The Sea kelp is great for those who need a lighter broth. We got Set A and B for the beef and seafood options. The combo comes with protein, a bowl of veggies, noodles or rice, a listed appetizer and a drink. All was so satisfying. We also tried some Wagyu and it melts in your mouth! We also loved their sake menu which had so many options to start learning about it. The grilled Saba mackerel fish was also AMAZING and my favorite bite. Service - amazing, they checked in often and brought our food quickly, out servers and management were also so kind and helpful! Tip: check out their special events, lunch and happy hour deals! Thanks to Wing, Brian and Paloma who were so wonderful and added to the great experience!
The new winter menu at King Plus Shabu is absolutely fantastic! The updated BBQ items are incredibly flavorful, and the newly added sake selections pair perfectly with the meal. We came during a busy weekend peak time, and although there was a wait, it was completely worth it. Warm broth, delicious grilled dishes, and smooth sake made the whole experience feel extra cozy on a cold day. Highly recommend trying the new menu—you won’t be disappointed!
Amazing spot in Redondo Beach! Fresh, high-quality meats and veggies, flavorful broths (spicy miso is 🔥), and those BBQ skewers were next-level—smoky, tender, and so good. Loved the Sunday $1.50 oyster deal too—super fresh! Generous portions, impeccable service (staff was friendly and on top of everything), and the clean modern vibe makes it perfect after a beach day.
Modern spot with great shabu-shabu! I went for a sake-tasting event and everything exceeded expectations! The food quality was excellent, and you can actually see them slicing the meat at the cutting station in the middle of the restaurant, which was really cool. I tried both the sukiyaki and the bone broth, both were rich and flavorful. The appetizers and sake pairings were spot on and really elevated the meal. The space is clean, the staff are super friendly, and there’s plenty of parking since it’s in a plaza. I’ll definitely be back for that wagyu!!! It was so tender it melted in my mouth!!
I live in Torrance and have visited King Plus Shabu more times than I can count. I would probably be considered a loyal regular at this point. Interestingly, despite dining here so often, I have never written a review before. Every time the owner was present, the experience was exceptional—warm service, thoughtful attention, and truly unforgettable meals. But on my most recent visit, the owner wasn’t there, and the service felt noticeably different. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t the standard I’ve come to expect from this place. Since I genuinely love this restaurant, I felt it was finally time to leave a review—not to complain, but to gently remind the management of something important. The restaurant promotes a full-service dining experience during weekday dinners and weekend lunch hours, which is one of the main reasons I adore this place. However, during peak hours, the servers often look extremely busy—walking back and forth constantly—yet somehow not getting much done. They seem inexperienced and unaware that one efficient trip around the dining area could resolve multiple guest needs, instead of pacing the same route repeatedly without accomplishing much. Surprisingly, this isn’t only during busy times. Even in slower hours, the staff seem overwhelmed or unsure of what to prioritize. And weekend dinner service… well, let’s just say it leaves much room for improvement. All of this is especially noticeable because the food here is absolutely top-tier. Everything is fresh and delicious. The A5 wagyu is both high-quality and reasonably priced. The broth portions are generous and full-bodied—not watered down like many other shabu spots with tiny pots and bland soup. In my opinion, this is truly the No.1 shabu restaurant in all of South Bay. The new BBQ items on the menu are spectacular, and many of their sake selections can’t even be found in other Japanese restaurants or liquor shops. The restroom is always clean and well-kept, which to me reflects the standards of the kitchen as well. In nearly every way, this restaurant is close to perfect. Except for the service. Other busy restaurants operate with the same number of servers, yet their teams appear more coordinated, efficient, and energetic. Here, the effort is there—but the execution needs guidance. I’m writing this because I care about this place. King Plus Shabu is almost like my second dining home, and I want to see it continue to shine. But if the service quality remains the same during my future visits, I may have to reconsider my rating. I truly hope management takes this feedback to heart. The food here deserves service that matches its excellence.
Love the new spicy broth! 🌶️🔥 It’s actually numbing and spicy in the best way — bold, rich, and full of flavor. Totally different from the lighter broths they had before, and such a great upgrade if you like real heat. This one seriously hits the spot!
Even though the weekend crowd was big, the new winter menu made the experience feel special. The BBQ was perfectly seasoned and the seasonal sake added a refined touch. A warm, comforting winter meal that’s truly worth lining up for.
This is my go-to spot when I want a quiet, comfortable meal. The space feels clean and spacious, and parking is never a problem. Staff are kind and attentive without being intrusive. A relaxing place with great service every time.
I really appreciate that it’s not chaotic or noisy. Peaceful place to enjoy a meal quietly. Great sake selection, I love sakes.. definitely is a place to come chill with friends
If you care about real quality rather than piling up cheap food, this is your place. The broth is clean, the meats are fresh, and everything is served to you with care. This isn’t a loud, messy AYCE joint—it’s a true dining experience.
You can taste the difference in the broth. Rich flavor and not watered down. Ingredients are fresh.
I was pleasantly surprised by King Plus Shabu Shabu! This was my first time trying hot pot and it exceeded all my expectations. The ingredients were super fresh, from the crisp vegetables to the high-quality meat options, and the broth was so comforting (they have four to choose from!). The restaurant was pristine and modern, with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. My boyfriend and I went for date night and had such a great time, I can easily see myself coming back with friends and family. If you’re new to hot pot or just looking for a clean, cozy spot with great food and service, I highly recommend checking this place out. 10/10!
This was a fun surprise! We thought we were stopping along our coastal drive for sushi but ended up with the hot pot. We loved it. Super fun, delicious, and the service was wonderful. Still thinking about it days later. They shared with us that they will have new poke bowls as well!
I think this shabu shabu place is a great restaurant to have a cozy, delicious meal with friends and family. They have a plentiful menu, a great atmosphere, and friendly staff members. All the meat is great quality, and tastes super delicious in their different broth options. They also have AYCE and a set menu course, so you are able to choose which ever fits best for yourself. They also have delicious sides, like egg rolls, gyoza, calamari, and chicken karaage. I can't wait to come back!
Love that you can get AYCD here! Ice cold beer, sake cocktails, and attentive refills. Pair that with endless wagyu and you have a perfect weekday night spot.
Love this place. Great Shabu Shabu joint. Always the freshest cuts of meat and veggies, and reasonable prices for the South Bay. Located on Catalina in Redondo but close to Hermosa.
I’m so glad that King Shabu reopened! The meat quality is fantastic. I’ve tried all broth and my favorite is spicy miso. It’s very flavorful and spicy! Combo A is filling for me. I’ve gotten salmon and scallop before and it’s also very good! The staff and friendly and attentive! I will definitely be coming back!

We came here for a family gathering and had such a wonderful experience. This place is perfect for special occasions if you want something a little more personalized. We pre-ordered the uni spoons, and they were absolutely worth it — super fresh and such a treat. I love that they offer custom options if you plan ahead. It really makes the meal feel special instead of just a regular dinner. The owner personally came by to check on us, which made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We were even surprised with some special drinks and small bites from the house, which was such a thoughtful touch. Great food, great service, and that extra level of care you don’t find everywhere. We’ll definitely be back for our next family celebration.

I often eat here. The food is very delicious, especially the ice cream and Asahi beer. It’s quite expensive, about $100 for two people, but I love the shabu here. If you go during busy times, the service might be a bit slow, but I prefer going when it’s not too crowded. And I love green been sever befor eat *🫛
The presentation is beautiful. The marbling on the beef looked like artwork, and the veggies were fresh and vibrant. Perfect for photos AND taste buds.
Really enjoyed everything. Chose the premium selection and it was worth is price, but be aware come hungry or it may be difficult to take full advantage of the ayce. **Also beware, if using your AMEX for resy credit, it is showing on your trans as Chowbus and I needed to argue and prove with a copy of receipt that I dined here. Not the restaurants fault, but maybe they can look into it recording as their restaurant name vs payment processor.

Our team attended the sake tasting and absolutely loved it. Great energy, smooth service, and delicious food. It’s the perfect venue for company gatherings—you can even customize the event details to fit your team’s style. Can’t wait for our next staff dinner here!
It has been years since I last visited King Shabu, and coming back after the pandemic felt almost nostalgic. This restaurant used to be one of my go-to places for small meetings and casual gatherings. I was a little nervous about the ownership change, but honestly, the food has only improved. The wagyu is better than I remember—rich, tender, and full of flavor. On top of that, I even recognized one or two of the old staff, which made the experience feel familiar and warm. King Plus Shabu has managed to keep the soul of the restaurant alive while raising the bar for quality. Without question, it’s still the most authentic and delicious hot pot in South Bay.
We visited our friend during a break and they took us to King Plus for hot pot. the food was really good, the soup base was rich and flavorful, and the beef and pork belly were excellent. All the vegetables were fresh, and the sauce station had so many choices. We especially loved mixing the sesame and peanut sauces so tasty! The portion sizes were big and definitely worth the price. The restaurant was clean, and the staff provided great service. We had a great time enjoying lunch with family and friends. Hot pot is always one of our favorites, and we'll definitely come back if we get the chance!
The food was good, and our server was friendly and great. A different server who kept walking right by where we were seated at the hot pot bar was wearing strong perfume and ruined the food experience for me. Perfume has no place around food because your sense of smell directly affects your sense of taste. It ruins the food taste, and personally for me chemical fragrances make me nauseus. Unforunately it seems more common nowadays that restaurant servers wear perfume. Please tell all your staff to wear NO fragrances, not even scented lotion.
