Opinions de The Jerk Spot Beverly Hills
The food is good here. I was looking for a black owned business in LA and I came across this location. So, I said I’ll give it a try. If I’m ever back in LA, I’ll come back. I had brown stew chicken, rice and peas and cabbage and it came with plantains. That was a plus. Most places where I came from in Georgia charge extra for plantains. I sat down to eat there and the atmosphere is chill. Clean restroom also. Right next to the LA Metro/bus line
This restaurant took me by surprise, I pass it every day for the last 3 years never once did I think about going in. I went in with a co-worker and WOW this is a hidden gem! Totally authentic Jamaican jerk, make sure to get a side of the jerk sauce it makes others seem like store bought. Extremely friendly staff, knowledgeable and very patient. If going here advising call first everything is made fresh and they are extremely busy! One of the very few places I know that have jerk pork...
Authentic and delicious family owned Jamaican restaurant. I got the jerked chicken with dark meat option (it's dry rub barbecued). Quick service, generous portion, and very reasonably priced. It was a bit warm in there so I got it to go. Tons of parking in the lot. Definitely worth checking out. Expect to pay $15-20 per person and be stuffed! I will be coming back!
The food is the winner Their patties have carried me through the year and made me sound a pretty penny
The jerk chicken is one of the best for all Jamaican restaurants in Los Angeles. I don't normally consume the sauce, but here, the Jerk sauce is worth savoring.
Best Rasta Pasta ever. No joke. Pine and Ginger Juice Amazing. My new favorite spot.
I'm be real, I'm a Caribbean boy and been having a tough time finding good spots like this and omg was I impressed. You know the food bout to be dumb good from looking at the low quality print outs on the windows. I got the curry goat and that was some the best curry goat I've had in years and reminded me of what my grandma used to make. The jerk chicken plate was good af, my gf got it and it was super good. From the rice to the fried plantains everything was perfect. The beef patties were stupid good also. If you're near Culver you gotta stop by this spot. I have officially put it on my list for whenever I bike through the area to stop at this place now.
Best tasting most authentic Jamaican food in LA. I have been to all of them as I am an old Jamaican man who only eat Jamaican food so I have to either cook it myself or buy from a jamaican restaurant. Not the best Jamaican food by a long stretch but the best in LA. Beef patties, coco bread, drops, jerk chicken, pineapple ginger juice, curry goat steam veg but I pass on the oxtail. Cut too big no beans flavor surprisingly could be better. Jerk pork sometimes. Service is just a little better than average Jamaican service
Got the Jerk Chicken it was fresh and yummy and not over priced like a lot of the other spots
WONDERFULL you must try this Jerk , WOW and get a patty i had the beef it was great, i will shop again OMG FIRE , very clean and professional staff
I get the Curry Goat and Oxtails plate. Always fresh, delicious and the portions are generous. I call ahead to pick up to go, never have to wait long.
The best Jamaican food in California The Jerk Spot. The jerk chicken is to die for... 💗🇯🇲🙏🏽
So i ordered a stewed fish and they said it would be 35 which generally took about 45 or 55 including the prep and serve. I was 4 minutes late to work but man let me tell you it was totally worth the wait. I've been to jamaica so I know good Jamaican food. The here is the spot, definitely "The Jerk Spot"
mind you, i’ve only ever had the jerk chicken wings, but they SMACK. i didn’t really grow up on Jamaican food, but i did spend a decade of my life in Brooklyn, and these wings would be a standout even in as competitive a market as that. sometimes they’re already ready ahead of your order, but sometimes they make them fresh and hot to order - that is the peak experience. the beef patties are also not to be missed. i be humming while i eat this food.
Wow! This place is a low-key spot that has the hits! I was in the area with a friend and wanted something quick and easy to eat. He recommended this place. I ordered two chicken curry empenadas (one to eat there and one for later). It was PERFECTION... fresh and hot, with a flaky light crust, the filling prepared with the perfect amount of seasoning. They were so good, I ate both of them in the parking lot! I'm still thinking about them, tempting me to brave the freeway system from Glendale to Culver City. Not expensive, very satisfying, just good food made with pride. The place was clean and smelled amazing. I haven't had Jamaican food in over two decades, but I'm not going to wait that long to come back to this establishment. If you want to support a small family business, eat some delicious fresh food, and not break the bank, this is the spot!
Yum yuuummm😋! Popped in for the lunch specials and got the Jerk Chicken & the Fried Chicken with the Pineapple Ginger juice...sooo good! Great price, great staff and great flavor. You won't be disappointed.
Oooh can’t believe I’ve passed this place so many times and today was my first time stepping inside and eating here. The food is awesome. I had garlic shrimp rice and peas steamed vegetables and plantain great value for money. Food is fulfilling hot washed it down with pineapple ginger. It’s really a treat. I had a coconut pie called garanza never heard of it before but it was really delicious. It was a mixture of coconut and brown sugar. The place is super clean and bright I sat inside and ate I will definitely most definitely be back here.
Authentic Caribbean food. I order jerk salmon with rice and peas and cabbage. I also ordered a veggie patty and a fish patty, the veggie patty was so good. The prices were okay. The location is easily accessible. I like that they have a wide variety of food especially because I don’t eat meat.
The oxtail plate is unbelievable! Great and tender oxtail, the rice and beans is so well cooked! And then it comes with steam veggies and sweet plantains. Must have it again
If you read my review from the Jamaican spot back home it still stands although this is my favorite spot in LA! I don’t come here for the customer service because well if you know you know! The food here is amazing I usually get jerk wings and play it safe but I recently tried out the the curry goat and I loved it! I wish they had spicy beef patties!
Nice fresh food, excellent customer service! The patties are to die for, fresh and smoking hot! I got ackee and salt fish. Call in if you don't like waiting since most of the food is prepared fresh on order!
Jamaican restaurant with tasty food and generous portions. Came here on a Saturday around 6pm to get takeout prior to a concert. I got the dark meat chicken plate with came with rice, plantains, and salad. The food was ready in less than 5 minutes after I paid. The meat was very tender and the dark sauce that came on the side was savory and very tasty. I really liked the plantains, as they were soft and sweet. There’s a small shared parking lot, and street parking is also available. Credit cards accepted. It seems to primarily be a takeout spot, as the tables inside seemed to be for waiting for your order. Overall, it’s a chill spot to grab some Jamaican jerk chicken for a reasonable price.

Delicious! The jerk chicken was falling off the bone and so soaked in flavor! The extra sauce was great for those who really want that kick! The beef patties were flaky and rich, the reggae bread was crispy and steamy. The plantain was like a flavor bomb! The prices felt a little steep for the humble setting, but we did not leave disappointed.
As the child of Jamaican parents, I grew up on Jamaican cuisine and I can tell you that the Curry Goat and Curry Chicken are superb. Very authentic and flavorful. You won't be disappointed

I've been going to this spot for several years and it's my go to whenever I visit LA. However, the prices have increased big time. $31 for and oxtail plate, oh lawd! Well luckliy I was craving their food and it was delicious! They also had rum cake and sorrel and both were spot on! I will still come thru here when I'm in town.
Every meal is freshly prepared almost from scratch... so everything you eat is very fresh... the restaurant has a definite Jamaican Attitude, food takes longer to prepare if you appear aggravated... I guess they believe the food will taste better if your in a relaxed mood... so after watching several Bob Marley videos my Spicy Goat Curry with a small side of Goat Bones filled with a Spicy Bone Marrow to savor..
Came across this spot getting a light changed at the Toyota dealership. Your typical mom and pop shop, as soon as you walk in you smell all the spices and goodness in there! I must say the jerk chicken here was delicious! The ginger pineapple was good but I advise you, the ginger in is strong! I had one of their beef patties as well and I knew I should have got more on my way home. Go get you some soul food!
The patties back home in NY are better, but for LA- wasn’t expecting much. I wouldn’t take a date here, but for quick lunch, decent choice. ⬆️ Service was friendly and efficient ⬆️The beef patties are good. Super flaky and good portion of filling. Could use more seasoning but don’t hate it. ↔️ Curry chicken patty was ok. Kind of bland, could use more salt, too. ⬇️ cost to portion ratio Not a destination but if in the neighborhood, not bad.
Hate to be negative Nancy , but I’m not a fan. I ordered the curry goat. Didn’t come with festival bread so that was disappointing. The curry was spicy (which is fine), but it wasn’t flavorful and neither was the rice. I had to add seasoning to both. Now the curry chicken patties are great! I had to go back and get a second one! Hence, the three stars. I will go back and try the jerk chicken because the service was great. The young lady working the front register was very nice.

Ordered the jerk, stew chicken and oxtails. The only tasteful option was the JC. The oxtails were the worst I ever had and the rice was flavorless and cabbage was not better. I’ve never had such bad Jamaican food that moved me to write a review.I really wanted this to be my spot b/c it’s close but it is not authentic. There is no love put into the food.

Stopped for some soup it was chicken , watered down no meat no dumplings only carrots no flavor even my son told me it’s nasty. So I purchased 3 plates and it was the worst food for Jamaican the Oxtail and jerk was nothing Jamaican the only thing Jamaican there was the cashier it’s the worst over $100 I spent. I was too tired to go home and cook but I regret buying there. Wish I could get a refund for all that food I tossed in my trash can.
Issa no for me. I ate the wings & the Pattie but the rest was better suited in the trash. I paid $30 for 5 Jerk Wings w/ Rice & Peas. Y’all, I’m not lying when I say the only thing that had flavor was the jerk sauce. This dish was Dry & Bland, lacking flavor & moisture. Aside from the jerk sauce- the only thing to bet on is the Beef Pattie. Issa no for me. A no ma’am. I tried bearing everything and just could not doing it. The steamed. Veggies were just that… steamed. The plantains were soggy, and sluggish. But I will say, I didn’t have to wait long for my food.
Ordered some food thought it was gonna be awesome. I've been waiting all day. It turned out to be bland tasteless, barely in a seasoning and no heat. Whatsoever. What part did you make a yawn come from? Where the Food tastes like this so I don't go. This was A. Complete complete disappointment.
So me and my family decided to make our way here and I was so disappointed. I got the curry chicken with peas and rice and steamed veggies which was a disappointment no FLAVOR rice and peas over cooked, My husband got the jerk chicken which was dry burnt and had a lack of FLAVOR. I decided to give this place zero stars please step y’all’s game up this is not ok…….
I am very disappointed to say the least. I was in the area and visited this restaurant this past summer and it was nothing but good vibes and good food, I even sat and ate there. Fast forward to today, I was once again in the area and decided to go back. Needless to say, I was highly disappointed, if I lived closer I would’ve tried returning the food! The fried chicken was not only tasteless and unseasoned, but wasn’t done well and tasted old, really wish I had taken pictures but I was too upset and just threw it away. The jerk pork as they called it, seemed more like roasted pork and also tasted and looked old, like it was done days ago and an attempt was made to reheat it. I asked for the soup immediately so I could have it before my meal and that also took awhile, seemed it had to be reheated so not sure when it was cooked but didn’t seem fresh either. I don’t mind spending money on good food, but spending over $80 and having to wait that long for food that was undercooked, bland and old really made me upset. Especially since that was myself and my mom’s first meal of the day and it was around 3 pm. The only thing that was good was the D&G soda and the seafood patty was decent. I’m not sure if they got a new chef or the owner doesn’t care or what happened, but the quality isn’t there anymore neither is the vibes. I will not be back even if I am in the area.
Issa no for me as well. Food is aight let me break down what I got and you decide if it was work $34 I got a brown stewed chicken meal with a side order of bread and some sour sop juice…..$34? Nall I’m from the area and Ackee Bamboo is relocating to just right on the street! Also Incould have gotten 2 full oxtail meals from Country in Inglewood for that price and it would have been overflowing with oxtails. Save your money drive to your favorite place and forget this one

I’ve never paid so much for a beef patty 6.29 crust was semi flaky taste wasn’t all the way there I’ll make the drive to juicys. (Natral art) or wi jammin.
Was very disappointed in trying to get this food service to communicate with me for a special event. I only asked one thing in order to plan my event. And that’s communication , which lacked on their end. I called several times without a response for days. Finally I gave up and found a great catering service that met my needs completely.
I’ve had some really solid oxtail and jerk chicken but this is not it. I was hoping it’d taste flavorful & spicy but it was extremely salty and lacked flavor. I was really sad when I paid over $50 to have mediocre food and it sucks because maybe it was just a bad day for them. The service wasn’t great but the parking was actually really good. If you’re craving Jamaican food, skip this place and drive to Alhambra & go to the food hall near the high school. 10x better and it’s cheaper. Really disappointed in this restaurant and I hope they can improve so customers can come back and enjoy good Jamaican food.
I do not typically leave reviews. However, after trying this food, I found it absolutely necessary to do so this time. I am visiting from the Washington, D.C. area and had a hankering for some Jamaican cuisine, so I decided to try The Jerk Spot. I ordered rice and beans with a side of jerk sauce, steamed vegetables, and a veggie patty. Every bit of it was a flavorless catastrophe. The rice and beans were severely overcooked to a mushy consistency, the jerk sauce had absolutely NO FLAVOR; it was all heat…nothing else. The vegetables…flavorless AND dirty. Yep. That’s right. There was still visible dirt on some of the cabbage. I was naively hopeful about the veggie patty, because it had a descent crust that was crispy and flaky, but the minute I bit into it, all hope turned into defeat. It was more flavorless mush. I saved the best part for last. There was a strand of hair beautifully woven into the rice and beans!!!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER had Jamaican food this horrible. I am left hungry, disappointed, and disgusted. I would have received a better return if I had thrown my money into the wind. PLEASE DO BETTER!!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!
Every time I go to this place the lil short dude with the long hair is always rude. I don’t know if I did something to her in another life but I’ll never never eat here again. Too much hate in that office. She threw the chair at me with sound, no grace, no love, just rude. I should have walked to Del Taco. Every single time. Horrible
