Great experience through and through. We had a reservation for 3, but our 3rd was running late due to coming from out of town. On a Saturday night, they still let us take our seats, despite our whole party not being present yet. This was greatly appreciated. I personally had the Fregola Di Mare which was amazing. Very flavorful, and a good amount of seafood on the plate for the price. They also had an expansive wine selection. For anyone who enjoys trying wines, you'll have fun at this spot.
I went to dinner with 3 other people. I had the fregola mediterranean. I honestly did not care for it, but my other friends who had tasted it thought it was delicious. I had a taste of my friends pasta. And I thought hers was good, I just don't remember what she ordered. Also, we had the 4 Cheese pizza to share. We agreed that it was the tastiest dish we had. We liked it so much we ordered it for delivery the next day. I would recommend having it at the restaurant vs. take-out.
BEST go-to restaurant in downtown Culver! Fantastic food and dining experience at this hidden gem - we had plenty of space to ourselves on the patio. Not just an Italian restaurant as I had assumed walking past, the owner is from an island off the coast of Italy (Sardinia) and serves local specialties from that region that were GREAT and refreshingly different from standard Italian fare. We loved the ultra-thin style Prociutto and Funghi pizza - especially with some of their house made chili oil. And the Fregola di Mare (a specialty recommended by the owner) was amazing. We also enjoyed a little sampling of house made breads and a Sardinian wine recommended by the owner. Can’t wait to come back here again!
Delicious Italian food with some unique flavours. Nice outdoor patio with heat lamps that turn on automatically. Good professional service. I had the burrata appetizer and the lasagna entree and both were fantastic. The tomato sauce reminded me of my mom's homemade tomato sauce made from fresh tomatoes, robust and delicious.
Went during restaurant week with a friend. We sat outside and shared appetizers (Fregola Vegetarian Salad and bruschetta), two pasta dishes (Fregola Mediterranean and the Raviolo allo Zafferano), and two deserts (Panna Cotta and Tiramisu). Everything was excellent. The recommended drinks and wines were great. The place was busy, so service was a little slow but worth the wait. And there’s free parking!
A true gem. The food is as authenticity Sardinian as it gets. We had a great night.
This is the cutest restaurant ever! It was a pleasure to try Sardinian food at this spot for the very first time. The staff were friendly & funny, food was incredible, & the music/decor was super cute! I tried the best meatballs I ever had, the fregola, & the branzino. All dishes were to die for, not to mention the dessert & wines being amazing as well. I have no complains, 10/10 !
Simple, delicious, great wine, and friendly atmosphere. What else could you ask for? This place is a hidden gem in the heat of downtown Culver City.
We had an awesome experience at Carasau Ristorante yesterday. Alex, our server was outstanding. Very attentive, friendly, and informative. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The food was delicious!!! Our starter was the celery soup which was vegan and amazingly tasty with just four ingredients. We shared the pasta of the day which was ravioli filled with potato and their homemade pesto. Incredible! And then we shared the Elizabetta pizza with mushrooms. A winner! We all agreed we will return!
We got the cheeseboard, which we enjoyed very much with the great selection of wine. For the entree, I got the seafood fregola, and it was excellent. My server was attentive even for a busy Friday night.
We ordered the Fregula Salmon and a chicken cutlet. Both are so delicious!
We had a same day reservation. upon entering, we were greeted by a lovely host and seated whereever we liked (inside/out) we chose outdoor because they had enough heaters to keep us(2) cozy. I was tied between the squid ink pasta and the lasagna. I can say this place in very unique for their tasty flavored pastas and the sauces they add to the flavored pastas all pair so deliciously. My concern with the squid ink pasta was that the octopus would be rubbery but that wasnt a concern at all. We also ordered the fettuccine pesto which was extremely tasty and a lemoney dessert which was so elegant and light. Everything was reasonably priced and the food was all so good, im super excited to return. Waiters are also perfectly attentive here, they cleared up plates super quickly which isnt something im usually concerned with but i noticed that they were very organized here.
I've over looked this restaurant for YEARS, but we finally decided to stop by for the lunch Dine LA special. The special consisted of three courses, a starter, an entree, and a dessert with and additional bread basket. I'd say for $35, we definitely got our money's worth. Each course was phenomneal with every dish having a very rich flavor. I was left wanting more by the end of the meal. We'll definitely be back again to try out more of their menu!
This restaurant is a true hidden gem in Culver City. It offers an authentic Italian-Sardinian dining experience with a wide variety of dishes, from fresh pasta and seafood to traditional Sardinian ravioli and other specialties. Everything tastes homemade and carefully prepared.. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and very peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. The staff are attentive and kind, and the service is excellent. A special mention goes to the owner, Vincenzo who is incredibly friendly and works in the restaurant with true passion. He makes you feel like part of the family, and dining here feels just like being at home. If you are in Culver City and looking for authentic Italian-Sardinian food in a quiet neighborhood with a genuine family feel, this place is an absolute must... In one of the pictures is the "Seadas", a typical dessert dish like a Raviolo filled with cheese similar to mozzarella and drizzled with honey. Being myself from Sardinia, this is one of my favorite desserts Sabrina
tasty dishes enjoyed the meals and good red wine. secret spot set back from main area nice find and service excellent
it should go without saying that Italian cuisine is not monolithic. Not all pasta are the same and certainly the food will vary from region to region. Carasau is not just an Italian restaurant. It is a Sardinian restaurant. I have been here a couple of times, mostly for their delicious gelato, but they also offer delicious and unique pasta. The malloredus is quite good. Doesn't feel heavy for a pasta and yet filling. The flavor is good, although just a tad too salty. Could be the cheese but it does overpower any other flavor in the dish. Good thing it is still a tasty pasta dish. Now, the seadas is quite different. I don't think I've seen this at any other Italian restaurants before. Seadas is a Sardinian specialty, a crispy, deep fried pastry stuffed with Pecorino cheese (love this cheese!) and drizzled with warm honey. It is very delectable and has a beautiful balance of that salty cheesiness and sweet, delicious honey. It's practically a must-have at Carasau if you've never had Sardinian cuisine before. Of course, you also can't go wrong with their gelato, which is light, airy, and oh-so-sweet. My favorites are the pistachio, lemon, and strawberries. Lastly, the restaurant itself is charming. It is a great place for a relaxing lunch or dinner
Weekday team dinner with tasty dishes and great service. A little on the pricey side.
A delicious surprise across the street! I’m staying at a hotel just across from Carasau and was immediately intrigued by the name—I honestly thought it was a Brazilian place! But I walked in and realized it’s actually a cozy Italian gem, and what a discovery it was. I ordered a traditional Sardinian dish (I think it’s called fregola?), little toasted pasta pearls served with Italian sausage, gorgonzola, and plenty of Parmigiano. Pure comfort food. Creamy, rich, full of flavor—it felt like a warm hug from home, the kind of dish that makes you forget you’re thousands of miles away. The vibe is welcoming, the staff super kind, and the food? 100% Italian soul. If you’re in the area and craving something real, go. You’ll thank yourself later.
What an incredible experience!! Came to Carasau on a Saturday night and did the tasting menu plus wine pairing. First of all, the restaurant has free, allocated parking spots, which made it super convenient! The crispy Sardinian bread was amazing. My favorite dishes were the Ravioli, Fregola di Mare, and Branzino! The Chef Vincenzo came to greet us and was so kind and told us al about the history of the restaurant. The wine pairing was the cherry on top! Chef Vincenzo also prepared us a surprise ravioli dish which was amazing. You can't miss the spot if you are dining in Culver City! This is also the only Sardinian restaurant in Los Angeles! Definitely will be coming back here soon !!
Beautiful Sardinian, Italian restaurant. The Calamari and Beef Carpaccio made for great appetizers. Definitely worth trying the Montanara pizza. 🍕 The crust was amazing came out hot and taste like freshly made pizza. I am not disappointed. Look forward to coming back and trying other dishes on the menu.
We stumbled upon this gem last Saturday May 20, after a disappointing reception by another restaurant which claimed to welcome pets but was not accommodating after all. But what a blessing it was! We lucked out when our group of 7 and 3 fur babies chanced upon Vincenzo, the owner, who was seated at the patio. We were walking by looking for another restaurant and this happened to be just across the street. He graciously accommodated us at their lovely and spacious patio. Little did we know it would be our first Sardinian dining experience. Food was amazing and full of delicious flavors. And the portions were filling. For starters, we ordered Burrata, Fritto Misto, Cioppino (perfect with their delicious bread), capresina and Margherita pizza. Main courses were Fregola di Mare, Fregola Mediterranean, Branzino, Penne with meatballs, Malloreddus and Vincenzo treated us with a sample of Fregola with formaggio cheese to satisfy my brother’s craving for Cacio e peppe. And for desserts, we had Brioche pudding and Sardinian dessert Seadus, both delicious with just right amount of sweetness. And since it was my birthday, Vincenzo surprised me with dessert of berries with ricotta cheese- what a treat! We topped these off with their latte. Overall, the food, ambiance and service deserve 5 stars! We will definitely be back for sure. And we will share our lovely experience with family and friends so they can also enjoy the best Sardinian food. Thanks to Vincenzo and Francesca for a lovely dining experience !
Excellent place with quick service and very friendly waitstaff. I would strongly recommend the lasagna from here. They also have a great selection of wines. Definitely a place to stop by for great atmosphere. Espresso was very good to have after eating! Edit: Came back here again because of how much I liked it and still the same level of amazing. Please do save room for dessert! You CANNOT be disappointed at the terrific desserts they have!
They have free parking onsite! Don't park on the street or else you will get a ticket. They specialize in Sardinian cuisine so try those dishes! Desserts are very yummy as well.
Lovely dinner spot specializing in Sardinian food. Really enjoyed my gluten free pasta !

Want to feel like you’re part of the ‘family’ in a mob movie while dining in a chic Italian restaurant with impeccable and attentive service? News worthy al dente pasta, with absolute creamy burrata, juicy bruschetta, succulent steak, and perfect shrimp? Look no further. Stumbled on this gem with my family while visiting LA after the Palisaded fires and found it to be an absolute treasure. Had the pleasure to meet Vincenzo - the daring proprietor and immediately felt at home. Truly special place with amazing food and atmosphere, on a date or an evening out with friends - you’ll appreciate your experience here. If not, it’s on me. I rarely write reviews but the attention and caring to craft made it a memorable experience, albeit entirely by accident. Will be back! Food, service, class, and ambience A++ from a discerning, bougie restaurant connoisseur.
Best very thin crusted pizza that I know in the LA area (as their name suggests). Every dish we tried here was great. The service is good. The atmosphere is lively.

Nice to go before or after movies ( Culver Theater is Now Open Yay!) The Service, Staff, & Atmosphere was FANTASTIC! Food was OK. Lasagna texture was different, chicken dish good however mash potatoes were too rosemary. Panna cotra plain, fregola Mediterranean was flat tasting, & Cappuccino to milky. Will give it another chance though
The food was amazing and they could adapt a plate to my personal taste and that is a plus!! My husband had the cheese ravioli with saffron and mint and said they were delicious. The service was quite slow at first, but it was good. The air conditioning seemed to be on and it was really cold inside. It was a great find overall!
Party of 4 adults and a 10 year old dined on the patio on a Saturday night. Made a 7:30pm reservation and had no issues. The patio has tons of heaters and is really well done, so great venue. This would be a great date spot or parents-night out place. Service was also very good as there is only Sardinians doing service which is great for a Sardinian restaurant. We asked to have all the Sardinian specialties and even did a nice bottle of Sardinian red wine. Overall the food was good with nice presentation. Meal started out amazing and then the entrees were good but not at the same level in our opinion. Appetizers -------------------- Moscardini of baby octopus in a brown tomato sauce (one the highlights of the night) Fregola Salad - Really amazing and filling Mains ------------------- Malloreddus - Pork sausage pasta with saffron and fennel was nice Culurgiones - Potato ravoli was just okay Napoli Pizza - Great taste but a touch under cooked Kids Pasta - Daughter got just a penne & cheese pasta (and it was the best thing in the night) Did some gelato and coffee/cappuccinos (great cafes). Total with tip & tax was $250.00. Tip: Parking is a pain around the area but we pulled into the hotels valet across the street, just gave the guy a big tip and there was no charge!
I really love the laid-back dining vibe. My partner picked the daily special, which was pretty filling. I ordered a seafood dish that I was really looking forward to, but the taste was just so-so.
Off the beaten path but worth a visit. Solid service, great food, and a pleasing ambiance. The focaccia is BANANAS. A must order. I loved the Bianca 4 Formaggi pizza and thought the Proscutto & Funghi pizza was just okay. Favorite pastas were the Saffron Ravioli and the Fregola Mediterranean. We also shared a lovely bottle of wine recommended by our server. It bears repeating...the thing I'm still thinking about is the focaccia!
We enjoyed this cute little spot, I've been intending to try it for some time and finally made it. The Cauliflower veloute was velvety and the Fregola Salad was bright and refreshing. I'd never had Culurgiones before and they had a pesto version that day that was delightful.

Apparently we don't love Sardinian style cuisine 🤷🏼♀️? We've spent many many weeks in Italy and love a home style Italian meal. Is Sardinian food so different? I had no idea. Ordered a 1/2 dish of penne and meatballs. They brought a full size but we didn't realize it until the bill came where we were charged the full plate price. Wouldn't be a biggie except that's the first pasta dish of my life that i didn't love. The pasta was over done (imo), the meatballs tasted like dog food. I'm sorry but that's what it smelled and tasted like. The 4 formaggi pizza was ok. We've eaten quattro formaggi 50 times all over Italy and it tends to knock your socks off. Not this one. Casual, cozy atmosphere. If you like the food, this place has a great vibe. Service was good. I took a star off because i am very articulate and definitely said "the half portion of penne & meatballs". Staff who don't speak English as a first language should repeat the order back. $64 bill for 2 dishes & one beer. These LA prices are getting silly, but it's not even the restaurant's fault with sky high rent & the high minimum wage.
The food was average, but it took over 40 minutes to arrive, despite there being only one table inside and one outside during Monday lunch. The server was inattentive, and there were long gaps between any service. Both soup orders came out at room temperature, and when we asked to have them reheated, the server replied, ‘It’s not cold, just not hot enough.’ Overall, you don’t feel welcomed. Even though they put up signs directing people to the back alley and promote on Yelp, the staff doesn’t seem prepared to work. We won’t be returning.
Sardinian restaurant off the beaten path. Came here for dinner with a friend around 8pm on a Sunday and had no reservations, but were easily able to grab a seat. Indoor and outdoor heated patio seating available. Credit cards accepted. Menus are on QR code and they do Covid contact tracing, so you have to fill out a questionnaire before ring able to look at the menu. They provide complimentary bread. Service was slow and forgetful. They forgot about my friend’s wine and didnt bring it out until we checked in on it and even then, they didn’t bring it out until we were halfway done with our food. They do have vegetarian options and the potato pesto pasta I had is a good option for that. Ambiance wise, it’s a quiet spot that’s off the beaten path.

I had dinner with a friend at Carasau this last Tuesday and Jesús what a bizarre experience. They have a nice patio and it’s sort of tucked away in downtown Culver City but I will advise- you can use the valet parking across the street at the hotel because parking in the area was horrible (not that it’s not most places in LA but just a heads up- it is here too). We ordered the Caesar salad and fritto misto to start. The salad was fine enough but the seafood tasted like it had been cooked five minutes too long- calamari was rubbery snd the breading was crumbling back to well...breadcrumbs. The sauces served with it didn’t add enough to save it but man was that free bread good 😅 For our entrees we ordered the filet, the salmon, and the spaghetti alle vongole to share. I’ll start with the good- spaghetti alle vongole was a pretty darn big plate of pasta and had a decent flavor to it. Meanwhile, this became one of the saddest days of my life by finding out there is a way that I could not enjoy mashed potatoes. I feel ashamed even saying that out loud but man these things were BLAND. And oddly chunky? The spinach served with tasted like if someone also legitimately just boiled a bag of spinach; not even sautéed but BOILED. Whatever sauce was with the salmon added no flavor and I feel like it’s the first time in my life I’ve eaten an olive and it tasted like nothing. Not being, just nothing which is somewhat impressive. The salmon was over cooked to the point that it was chewy and sort of burnt on the ends and man did that steak need salt. Since we couldn’t finish either of our dishes we decided to give it one last try and eat our feelings in dessert. This is where they redeemed themselves. That pastry with honey? GET IT. It’s so good! How! After such a bad meal! HOW! Who cares. It’s delicious. The parfait was also pretty appetizing. More so than the rest of the meal. Oh, meanwhile this whole thing happening, the woman I’m guessing was the owner (?) was coming around to the table to check in. A LOT. To the point that it got a little awkward. Maybe step it back a little? 🤷🏽♀️ TLDR; if you’re coming here just come for dessert.
I was lured in by the 4.5-star rating, but this restaurant was a complete disappointment. The branzino arrived fried and greasy instead of grilled. The spaghetti alle vongole was bland and lacked any authentic flavor. Even the fresh pasta was drowned in a heavy, cloying Alfredo sauce, and the baked chicken was dry, overcooked, and tasteless. But what truly ruined the experience was the owner—who also served us—openly berating her staff throughout the evening. It created an uncomfortable, tense atmosphere that no diner should have to endure. There’s no sign of a real chef here—no professionalism and no authenticity, just overpriced, poorly executed dishes served in a toxic environment. I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Regrettably, I have to leave a one-star review despite the food being satisfactory. In my opinion, the prices were not justifiable considering the numerous Italian fine dining options available in west LA. Our intention was to support local businesses; however, we noticed that our dessert was charged $16 instead of the listed price of $12. Additionally, the tip guide was based on the amount after tax and an unanticipated 4% REBS surcharge, which was not explicitly stated. I find this to be deceitful and, as a result, I do not plan to revisit this establishment.
Super expensive for what was pretty mediocre food. There was only two parties outdoors and the waiter stood in front of those tables for our whole meal waiting to ask questions, take our food, it was so uncomfortable. He even started to clear up empty tables while we were eating which seemed like him wanting us to leave. Our reservation was at 7:40pm on a Tuesday. I felt like I couldn't eat my meal without the waiter listening in to my conversation. Charged the wrong price for the wine + there is a fee for water. It's unfortunate because the menu looked good but the food was actually subpar. Everything came out fast as there were only three total parties (Two of us outside, one inside) but the seafood tasted old, the sauces were bland, and nothing had flavor. We ended up not finishing our meal and left within the hour (super fast due to the fact the waiter literally stood in front of us waiting for us to put our forks down). We went home and ate more food. Whats insane is our bill was $120! One drink + one meal each got us to that price. The place is cute and is in such a nice location, but the 5 star reviews are confusing. This has been one of the worst restaurants I've been to in LA to the point that I felt like I needed to review it.
Waitstaff who wouldn't take our order and left us sitting and waiting for our food for over an hour managed to ruin Christmas. We had to-go boxes thrown at us, the waitress talked to my girlfriend and her parents as if they were slow but spoke perfectly fine to me, the only white guy at the table. Tables around us were seated, ordered, and served food before a waiter had been to our table twice. Food was served to us lukewarm, but admittedly it wasn't too bad. The only time a waiter was remotely quick on their feet was when we were trying to pay, and then we had to wait another 10 minutes just to get a to-go box thrown at us. I know it was a holiday, but this service was criminal, and with a minimum service charge hidden in the menu too!
