Best sushi in LA. Very good service. Midori is super attentive and very dedicated to making sure customers have everything they need. Very consistent food with high quality ingredients. Chef ted’s spicy tuna #2 is a must try for everyone. The salmon nigiri with yuzu pepper is to die for. I order from here at least twice a week and it’s always fresh. After 12 years of coming here, it’s still my favorite sushi spot in the city.
Popped in here while I was nearby and wow. What an amazing sushi spot. I decided to try the special which was an oyster shot in ponzu sauce and quail egg, it was excellent. I also went for the shrimp tempura sushi with baked lobster on top- divine; and crab meat topped with spicy tuna, albacore and smelt eggs. We also had the edamame with garlic butter. Everything was incredible.
Definitely one of the best Sushi I’ve had in town! Ordered take out, with q huge variety of sushi and entrées. Perfect for a sushi date or family/friends sushi night! Will continue ordering! Highly recommend!
Amazing rolls (El Nino and Beverly). One of the best sushi I've had in all of North America.

Amazing rolls (El Nino and Beverly). One of the best sushi I've had in all of North America.
Every time I eat here, I briefly consider quitting my job and becoming a professional roll taster. Let’s start with the facts: Every single roll is impeccable. Not good, not solid, not “decent for LA”—I’m talking melt-in-your-mouth, send-a-text-about-it-later kind of sushi. The fish? So fresh it probably signed a lease in Beverly Hills five minutes before hitting my plate. I’ve never had a bite that wasn’t beautifully balanced, perfectly cut, and just the right amount of “oh my god, what is that sauce?” But what really makes this place special is the dream team behind it: • Yumi, the namesake and co-owner, is an angel sent from the sushi gods—always warm, welcoming, and somehow makes every visit feel like you’ve been invited to the family dinner table. • Ted, her husband and the sous chef, is back there slicing fish and breaking hearts. He’s quiet, focused, and clearly putting love into every single roll. (Like… literal love. I can taste it.) • And Hero, the head chef, is a legend. I don’t know what kind of secret ninja training he went through to cut sashimi this cleanly, but I support it. His technique is surgical and his creations are chef’s kiss every time. Yumi is the kind of place you want to gatekeep but also shout about from the rooftops. It’s cozy, consistent, and criminally underrated. So if you see me there, mind your business. I’m just having a spiritual awakening with a spicy tuna roll. 11/10. Would roll myself home and do it all again.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yu/Mi Sushi and I must say, the experience was fantastic. The restaurant offers an array of amazing and creative rolls that are sure to please any sushi lover. The rolls were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the fish was evident in every bite, making for a truly enjoyable meal. What really stood out to me was the amazing staff. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure that my dining experience was top-notch and went above and beyond to accommodate any special requests. The head chef, Teddy, deserves a special mention. His expertise and passion for sushi were evident in every dish he prepared. The attention to detail and care he put into each roll was truly commendable. One roll that I highly recommend is the "Kevin Roll". It was a delightful combination of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. The blend of ingredients was unique and the presentation was visually stunning. I would definitely order it again on my next visit. Overall, my experience at Yu/Mi Sushi was exceptional. The amazing creative rolls, fresh fish, and the incredible staff, especially head chef Teddy, made for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're a sushi lover.
Food and service is always great whenever I come here. The staff are kind and attentive. Some of the best, most fresh sushi in LA.
I was really surprised with how good this sushi place is. I expected it to be good, but the food and atmosphere is great. For sure will return. Ask if they have albacore belly! Mmmmmm!
Best sushi in LA hands down . Pricey but worth every penny and now they have the little skewers from chicken to mushroom. Sit at the bar and if you can meet the chefs , great attitude , service oriented and go out of their way to please you. Never had a bad meal in this place . They are in a new and much larger space now. Worth a night out on town to enjoy their Sushi
Best sushi I have ever had. Super fast and friendly service. Spicy Tuna #2 and the roll with lobster on top and shrimp tempura are the greatest rolls I’ve ever tasted. I’m from Philly but if I lived in LA I’d be a regular
Hadn't been feeling great all day, but the food in here restored me. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Best Japanese food I've had all year.
Food is amazing, owner is very nice. TIP: Order the Frank Roll, it is a hand roll in soy paper, rice and crab meat. Delucioussss. Not in the menu.

Clean nice sushi spot. They were Very Kid friendly. They had special fun character plates for my kids and very understanding. I would have to try this place again with my wife alone and no kids to see if it gets a 5 star for the food

Ordered two rolls through Postmates, an eel avocado roll and a California roll with added roe. The California roll was pricy, the eel roll didn’t have much eel, and both rolls had an unpleasant sour taste. I liked that you could add things to the rolls, like the roe for the Cali roll, but overall was a disappointing meal for $25. Will not be ordering again.

Long long waiting time for delivery drive. The order was not ready but they had accpeted it. People came and went mumbling but literally no one was responsible. Eventually they told me in an impolite way that it's gonna take 20 more minutes. I had to cancel the order and my ratings were damaged because of THEM. How are they accepting online orders if they are not familiar with delivery apps?
We went at 6:12pm on Saturday 3/30. The hostess definitely lost our business. There were two 2-tops outside on the patio. We asked if we could push them together for our party of 3 as our only goal that night was to eat sushi and sit outside. She said that they couldnt do it (which I understand, not a huge deal). The issue was her attitude. We would have gladly sat down inside but the hostess kept have a snarky attitude with us so we left. We went to Saruyi Sushi which is only two blocks away so if you're reading this definitely go there and not here. The food was amazing and the service was great(unlike at this smelly hot hell hole).
My family suffered discrimination by a waiter called Kevin. He was very rude/passive aggressive and condescending. We left (will NEVER go back there) and went to sushi Kyono just 4 minutes away. Had better quality food at Kyoto’s, better service and everyone was polite! Cheers
We had a waiter named denis, we specifically asked for no spicy mayo and he put it on our sushi. After we asked can you make a new one without it, he responded very rudely and said that’s what we ordered and refused to make another one and call the police. The police arrived and he was trying to be a victim, saying we were very rude. After we told the police officer what happened he told, he told the guy to make a new one without spicy mayo. The guys said he was offering that but we wouldn’t pay. I recommend you do not have him as a waiter very rude and bad. Not worth the price, I suggest izakaya sushi worth the price and good food.
Old tuna sushi that smelled bad. We informed our waiter who passed on the info to the owner/chef and the owner kicked us out after he made us pay for the miso soup. I wouldn't recommend this sushi place to anyone because they don't have fresh fish and the worst customer service.

Very expensive with average quality, they present you the receipt with pre-calculated tips options after added tax not before, SCAM (Always remember no tip on tax)
