Settles Grill at Hotel Settles is a gem, known for excellent service (Jaime, Melissa, Jaden mentioned) and delicious, well-seasoned food. The avocado toast, burgers, and December specials (short ribs) are highly recommended. The historic hotel adds to the charm.

Tip: Try the burger, it's a must. Also, the truffle parmesan fries with garlic aioli are worth the upgrade.

Opinions de Settles Grill Big Spring
I recently visited this restaurant after hearing it described as fine dining, and I must say, it lived up to the hype. The ambiance was spotlessly clean, and the service was top-notch from the moment I walked in.I started with an Old Fashioned, and it was nothing short of perfection—expertly crafted with a beautiful presentation, using top-shelf ingredients that elevated the experience. Next, I had the Caesar salad, which was made with incredibly fresh ingredients. The crisp lettuce, rich dressing, and high-quality cheese all came together flawlessly. For the main course, I went with the chicken fried steak, and it did not disappoint. The flavor was exceptional, and the presentation was just as impressive. It was served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and fresh, long-stemmed broccoli, all cooked to perfection. To finish, I indulged in their banana bread pudding, and it was a true highlight. Each bite was packed with flavor, and the high-quality ingredients were evident in every aspect of the dish.If you're anywhere near Big Spring, Texas, and you're craving an excellent meal with fantastic service, I would highly recommend this place. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you won't regret stopping in for a meal here!
Awesome renovated hotel/restaurant/bar. Great food. Friendly attentive staff.
We came fairly early in the morning and were greeted by Melissa, the server. She was kind and did an exceptional job. The food came out hot as did the coffee. The coffee, by the way, was pretty good and drinkable without having to dilute it with cream and the other nonsense. The portion was the perfect size, so you won't leave hungry. Will come back.
I came to Big Spring to meet with a couple of the groups that I manage in Big Spring. Everyone recommended I stay at Hotel Settles and check out the grille. I went for breakfast and since I was in a bit of a rush I just got the French toast and boy was it good. Melissa my server was the sweetest. I just loved her upbeat and positive attitude so early in the morning. I highly recommend this place.
Jaden was excellent at customer service, very attentive, polite. The food was DELICIOUS 😋😊. We had some chips and queso, very Yummy and Rib Eye Steak cook to perfection. I recommend 100%.
We have stayed at this hotel and eaten at their restaurant, the Settles Grill. Everything is delicious and well seasoned. You must try the burger. The gorgeous renovation is in keeping with its early glory days. It's a four hour drive from our home in DFW and it's worth every mile to come see this gem in the west.
Tried December special : short ribs slow cooked to perfection, carrots seared to golden and smooth smashed potatoes at the bottom. I like that kind of food specially in December before Xmas time, like a grandma’s house
"Wow! What a hidden gem! I stumbled upon this place while searching for a sweet treat, and I'm so glad I did. The desserts here are absolutely amazing—I tried their Tres Leches, which was on special this month, and it was divine! I also indulged in their bread pudding, and it was out of this world. I can't wait to come back for a main course and enjoy another great time here. Highly recommend!"
Restored, old-school deli vibe. Quick service. Somewhat limited menu, but enjoyed a sandwich. The truffle parmesan fries with garlic aioli are worth the upgrade - they were the best!

Excellent food (especially breakfast) and service. Staff were all very efficient. Nice atmosphere and very convenient to the hotel.
Truely one of the best meals my husband and I have had in a very long time . The orange coffee was fantastic as well as the food . The historical hotel was beautiful, and the music playing fit the time period . Staff was very kind.
Good food. Great staff! went out of there way to make sure my hat that i left there was took care of till I got back the next day
My wife and I just tried this place out and I must say the food is amazing. We had the Brussels sprouts with the cheeseburger. And everything was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a group of 20 for my Mother-in-laws 83rd birthday and the staff was great and then even served a birthday cake that we brought in and they did an amazing job helping serve the cake and even hung around to sing her Happy Birthday! We are extremely happy with EVERYTHING! And I am pretty sure the food is better now than in the past.
We had a wonderful experience eating here. Both the brunch and dinner options were great. Our wait staff did an excellent job giving quality service. The charm that this restaurant has being in a historic place like the Settles Hotel can't be compared to any other location in West Texas. There was plenty of setting, but I would recommend making a reservation for your convenience. This hotel stays booked and the grill can fill up very quickly.
This restaurant is in the hotel. The hotel as well as the bar and restaurant look beautiful. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. I had the ribeye and it tasted great. I would suggest the mashed potatoes as well. For an appetizer I got the chips green chili queso and salsa. The queso was perfect and I loved the salsa. I would definitely recommend going here.
My husband and I stayed for the weekend to celebrate his birthday, and everything about our experience was absolutely perfect! The food was incredible — the collard greens and chicken fried steak at dinner were delicious, and breakfast was just as amazing with the variety of French toast and perfectly cooked sides. What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the service. We were lucky enough to have Kaisza take care of us both nights at 9 p.m. on Saturday night and again at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning — and she was simply outstanding. Her warm smile could light up a room, and her attentiveness and kindness made us feel so special. She went above and beyond for us every single time. The atmosphere was wonderful, cozy, and welcoming. Everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. We’re already looking forward to coming back as soon as we can!

We eat avocado toast at many restaurants, Settles ranks amongst the best we’ve had and may be the best! This is a must. Jaime was our server for breakfast and provided great service!

I enjoyed the omelet 🥚🍳 and the 🥞 pancakes . The french toast was not what I expected it had very little flavor by itself. I do not recommend the french toast. The strawberry 🍓 compote was good with a lot of flavor, but typically, I like my French toast and pancakes with syrup only. I want to try a meal here for lunch or dinner.

Customer wanted chick breast meal but Grill only had it in "child's plate"...strange. plain looking meal. Wimpy piece of meat, mashed potatoes&1oz plastic cup of gravy, no roll or toast :(

I am pleased to say, everyone and every restaurant can have a bad day. My last review reflects that. I was back this morning for breakfast and coffee. I am happy to give a good recommendation and return to 4 stars. The food was prepared fresh, the order was correct, and the service was again exceptional. The management even came by to ensure that everything was right and that I was enjoying my time in the restaurant. So happy to once again have a good breakfast restaurant in town. Thank you Settles Grill. Prior post ... 2 stars...This has previously been a great experience so I wanted to have another great experience. I will start saying that the server was also the host. Not certain if due to short staffed, but clearly was distracted with other responsibilities. Ordered a Texas Cheddar Omelette with bacon, guacamole, and salsa. Sides requested were sourdough toast and fresh fruit with extra side of bacon. The only item correct in my order was the fresh fruit. While their wheat berry toast is good, it is not sourdough. I didn't even list this among the issues to the server. The omelette arrived plain - no cheese, no bacon, no guacamole and no salsa. I ate the bacon, toast and fruit. The salsa arrived with some bit of plastic in it and was more chipotle paste than salsa. I have been in the service industry - not the server/hosts fault - so I requested to be billed for the toast, bacon, fruit and coffee. The server tried to appeal that the cheese (non-existent) was cooked into the eggs. It wasn't. I received my bill - paid and left a tip. I'm sad that now I'm convinced there isn't a good breakfast cafe/restaurant in Big Spring. I'll give another opportunity - but will be apprehensive.
Talk about horrible food. Could not even eat breakfast here so over cooked and didn't even get what I ordered. Ordered the Big Texan Breakfast, eggs were overcooked and no cheddar, menu says cheddar scrambled eggs. Toast is burnt as well and just plain white bread not sourdough. Wife had biscuit and gravy, the biscuits were super dry and the gravy is salty and add on $4 eggs that were ordered over easy and guess what also over cooked med/hard. Only thing that came out okay was the waffle. We just left the food on the table and told the waitress sorry but what a disappointment. Went to Tita's instead for a great breakfast. Would rather eat a free hotel breakfast than Settles Grill
