Nice place to visit eat anytime
Very authentic Mexican restaurant! Very accommodating waiting staff. Great atmosphere for a hangout or dinner with friends. Pool tables are very well taken care of!
Great service! Pool tables, their sex on the beach the best! I love their breaded shrimp, bistec ala mexicana, pizza puffs w fries (only place that carries these in town), and honestly all their tacos are great! Great place to cash a few beers and chill, very mexican authebtic place has juke box playing most of time and always has soccer games on the screen if anyone is playing. Beautiful waitresses also everytime I go.
This place has redeemed my hope in good Mexican food in Alabama. The guacamole is amazing. The langua tacos won me over; so tender. I'm in love with this place and just so thrilled it exists. Oh yeah, plus the music was great and they have a bar and pool tables with soccer games going.
Food is always so delicious and they cook to order so its nice and always fresh. Orders are served with salsa and chips on the side. And the music is also bomb, tv's are usually on laliga, futbol (soccer in the US). They have pool tables and space to do a 2-step if you are feeling the vibes. I ordered an enchilada with rice and beans and it was so satisfying and fulfilling. Definitely scratched my itch for authentic latin cuisine! And coming from Los Angeles I definitely crave it often, this has become my new daytime, lunching, anytime, and late night spot! 🤤 Will be returning soon to indulge again 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Bravo!!
He has a great authentic Mexican restaurant here. I always like coming in here and feeling welcome. The food is very good and fulfilling. I love the homemade pepper sauce (what I call it) in the red bottle, and the soups have the entire chicken leg in them too! I have been coming here almost three years now.
Food was good and service was extremely good if you go there ask for Roxana she was extremely nice
Aside from the music being just a little loud, It was great! The food was authentic, portions were large and super tasty, and the house salsa is top notch. I would literally go back just for that salsa. You can also enjoy a game of pool before, after or during your dining experience. They have a full bar as well.
Local crowd and authentic Mexican food...the house salsa amazing!!!!! Service was fast and friendly. They also have pool tables, bar area, music etc.
I came here around 0000 midnight, loud Mexican music plays, few people there having a good time. I ordered the Mole con Pollo, came with rice, beans and salad. The mole was very good and authentic and not spicy. The amount of food for price was very good and fair. The service was okay, nothing outstanding. Atmosphere was good, there are several pool tables available on the other half of the restaurant. Overall a good experience, I will be coming back to try out more things on the menu. ....Update 4/13/25.... I went again excited to get some good food, however i got overpriced Quesabirria tacos, 2 small tacos for 12$!!! Additionally the server held my card hostage until I tipped her. Personally, the first time was great, second time was awful. If the service and food was consistent, I'd risk going again. However, I will not recommend or return to this establishment. There are better places in Birmingham.
Stood over us the whole time while we tried to have drinks and eat as if we were being rushed!! Grabbed my plate when I wasn’t even through eating! No gloves!!
Terrible food calculated to be 28 dollars had drinks 4 margaritas for me and my guest was 18 a piece and they was watered down not even top chef!!!
My wife and I went here for a lunch date. The place was empty like they had just opened . My wife order the taco salad and I ordered one steak quesadilla and one chicken quesadilla with rice. My wife taco salad was flavorless and mushy. My quesadillas were small and the salsa was puréed and nasty color off no seasoning. We got our check and it should have been $36 , but instead it was $50 with a tip. On the menu it said quesadillas were $3 we were charged 6.95 for them each. Now I cook for a living and this was my first time tasting horrible Mexican food. El chile is not it secret up charges and nasty food yall may have a 95 health score but that food and service was way below average. I took a picture of the taco salad you judge for ya self. Just sad
I ordered take out .. it was suppose to be cheese dip with sausage and 2 tacos with sour cream !!! The cheese dip did not have the sausage in it , and it was poorly packaged . They didnt secure the dip inside of a enclosed container . They loosely placed it in a foldable , styrofoam , to-go plate which caused the cheese to spill out before i could even eat it. they made sure to charge me full price for my order but didn’t put i in much effort into preparing or properly packaging the dip. I wouldn’t recommend them for take-out , maybe dine in ….the tacos were good though
2nd time I have ever posted. Walked in and very few interior lights were on. Overhead strand lights were not on it was dark. I sat next to a window so I could see my food. Ordered the house margarita which comes in only 1 size. (Later to find out it was $12.95 which is high in my opinion) it was definitely a pre made mix. For food I got chicken fajitas. The absolute worse fajitas I have ever eaten as far as flavor. They tasted like they were cooked in tomato sauce. Lastly the waitress could not speak any English and had to get someone from the bar to translate. Horrible experience I will not ever be back.
This was by far the worst experience I have had since Covid-19! The food was horrible but the drinks were on point. My friend asked for our checks the waitress bought us one check totaling $118. My friend told here we were on separate checks. The waitress looked at us confused. My friend then stated we’re not lesbians—she replied “oh”! After surveying the restaurant we realized we were the only female couple there. Everyone else were males! No big deal we just wanted separate checks. The waitress returned 10 minutes later with our check written on a napkin now totaling $84! We had 6 tacos at the price of $3 each plus some queso which was $6. 2 double shots and 2 beers! No way this totals $118! After asking for an itemized receipt the waitress calls the manager who in turns tells her and the security guard we are okay to go! By Far The Worst Experience Ever!
Starting off good- the chips and salsa, delicious. Guacamole and cheese dip? Delicious. Everything else was just kind of ok. Nothing too spectacular, but not bad. Until I received my check- I went up to the bar and it took about ten minutes for them to return my card to me and I got the receipt- which wasn’t itemized and they charged us over $100 for three meals… that were all under $15 each! I asked them how it was this much but they didn’t respond. We were already running late so after me asking to see the itemized receipt three or four times, I just paid and left. I just won’t be coming back- this dinner was highway robbery for food that’s just ok.
Service was awful. We all got a $2 tax despite ordering complete different things. For reference, the state tax in Alabama is 4%, so our tax should’ve been around 60 cents. We all probably ordered around $10 worth of food. After talking to the manager, he denied taking advantage of us, told us to “fuck off” and even threatened to beat us up. Worst experience ever.
My girlfriend called and ordered food from here a few days ago because this restaurant was within walking distance of the hotel we are temporarily staying at (because we are, unfortunately without transportation at the moment). After ordering our food (which totaled $38.91), I started the almost 2 mile walk. Once arriving to the restaurant and telling "Maria" the name on my pick up order, I proceed to pay for our food with FIFTY DOLLARS in rolled quarters. The $50 was for the price of our food PLUS a $11.09 TIP for her because I was giving her the entire five rolls. Well, she informed me that they, El Chile, do not take US currency, apparently, in rolled quarters. On top of that, I truly believe this DEAD ASF restaurant is not fully what it appears to be, but more so a cover up for some other sort of operation, but that's just my opinion. And their food sucks from an experience my girlfriend had from tasting her mom's food from them the very next day after this happened.
