Such a beautiful place and the food was so good. I had ravioli and although the portion looked small it was very filling. The drinks were a decent price and they offer 241 after 7pm.

I have been coming here a while now but I never write a review but the lovely lady said if i enjoy so much then I should! I think this place is not known enough, the lobster is the freshest & best lobster in Birmingham believe me, its amazing and the service & ambience is perfect, they have a menu which satisfies everyone but also, is not to big and I know everything is cooked fresh! this place should be more popular!

The restaurant is really nice and food is good too. I have to say that the service received was excellent. We arrived quite late and asked if the kitchen was still open and a very nice Spanish waiter, sorry can't remember the name, came to us to guide us to our table and serve us. He was delightful and is one of the main reasons we'll return. The food arrived quite quickly and it was good.

Waiter Mohammed provided excellent service, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Me and my girlfriends family have come here the past 3 years in a row on Christmas Eve the food is always spot on, never had a bad meal from here. The pizza is one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

Myself and my daughter visited Milano on Saturday 23rd August for the pre theatre meal. There was a lot of staff making sure you had everything you need. The food was absolutely delicious and they catered for gluten free. The restaurant was lovely, would recommend to everyone to visit.

We visited this venue earlier today just for a coffee and felt we needed to leave a review of the AMAZING young lady who greeted us at the bar area. She was very attentive towards us and could not have made us more welcome so thank you so very much We did end up having strawberry cheesecake (well my husband ate 99% of it!😂) and I had some really tasty chips The venue was very clean and well laid out and having read the menu it is somewhere we would go back to where I'm sure a full meal would be great 😁 Thank you again

We dined here last weekend and it was absolutely amazing, from the service to the food everything was perfect, even the nice hostess Paula I think her name was and our server Costin were the best. Definetly will be coming back.

The location is fantastic, especially for anyone visiting the Hippodrome. The service was efficient and friendly throughout our visit. Both the lasagne and the tiramisu were exceptional and truly stood out. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and overall, it was excellent value for money. I would definitely come here again.

Absolutely outstanding Christmas meal. We visited as a large group of 23, and the service was flawless from start to finish. The entire team, both front and back of house, were professional, friendly, and incredibly well organised. Despite the size of our group, all meals arrived together and piping hot — which is no small achievement. The food itself was exceptional, genuinely some of the best we’ve had, and every single person in our group commented on how delicious their meal was. A huge credit to the staff and kitchen team. We couldn’t fault the experience and would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for large group bookings.

Just finished my dinner in early September and had a bit of a lobster showdown! 🍽️ I jokingly told the waiter, "I need a hammer to break open the lobster claws!" 🦞 It was like a seafood version of a DIY project—only I didn’t have the right tools! Also, there was a 12% service charge, but honestly, the service didn’t quite match up. I thought about refusing to pay it, but I went ahead anyway, hoping they’ll step up next time. Just a heads up: if it’s not up to snuff next visit, I might just wave my hands in the air and say “nope!” 🙅‍♂️

This proved an interesting restaurant. It's very attractive to visit.Excellent location for the hippodrome theatre. They certainly coped with a busy pre theatre lunch session.Limited menu. Staff were helpful,at times we felt at little over stretched. Food,in the main all good.Little touches would have raised the bar. The sea bass was very good,but had been dried out around the edges,from the pass,which given it was busy was odd. Lasagna,good,but lacking that crispy finish.Not exceptional. Everything arrived hot. Calamari,good, little rubbery. Things like putting olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the tables would be a nice touch. Mains came with a salad The desert's we had were excellent have to say,my lemon based one,one of the best I eaten. Tap water provided no problem. Wines, delicious whites well chilled. Price point above average to high for the quality. But overall a lovely lunchtime experience. Thank you. We will visit again.

Good place to dine in or just to do like us and stop for a great desserts 🍨 🥧 🍦 🍡 🍧 The tiramisu is fantastic, but to be honest I think that all the caces were great. I gave them only 4 stars because the service was quite poor, we ordered coffee and the cup was dirty, we asked to change it and they replace it with another dirty cup that we sent it back as well. Some of the waiters were ok, some of them were a bit grumpy. The place is beautifully designed, and is cozy, quite comfortable for a relaxing dinner. We will return to try the food someday.

We visited Cafe di Milano recently to try out their new bottomless brunch. The atmosphere in the place was amazing and the DJ had everyone singing. Also wanted to mention our server for the afternoon Mohamed, he was brilliant throughout our visit, was very attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty 😄 He was also very friendly to talk to which made our experience even better.

Went for a meal before seeing a show. Food was beautiful. Service was a little slow, it wasn't busy but the staff were very polite. Reasonably priced, ours was more because we had a bottle of fizz

Excellent selection of seafood which is not always the case in Birmingham. I had the lobster linguine while my wife had the seafood linguine. Both were delicious and we shared a bottle of white wine which went down well. I will say that I don’t eat much seafood and didn’t realise there was further meat in the lobster claw which I hadn’t been given the tool to crack until the waiter who collected the plate asked about it, although he then cracked with the tool even if it was slightly cold. Even so, the meal itself was great.

I have 3 star to the food only because it is not by italian standard pizza, most of them 5-6 type are wirh chicken based.l but the dough is realy good. The staff is very friendly and a very nice reatoran.

Not what it used to be. The food was nice but didn't taste authentic Italian. There were plenty of people there for pre theatre food and that was the only menu you were given before 7pm. The food came out quickly seemed to be pre cooked, and then finished off to order. The pizza was nice, but the prawn cocktail tasted a bit wet and lacked substance and flavour. The Service and staff were great. Sorry will not be back a shame as this used to be a go to place pre covid.

Decided to take out a selection of desserts so to close out a family dinner on a sweet note. Sweet, they certainly were. Also strangely, I couldn’t really distinguish the taste between the different items - they’re all just very, very sweet. Looks quite pretty though.

Disappointed given the price. I went for lunch with friends. I ordered the Manzo stroganoff which apparently came with risotto. The Stroganoff was fine but the rock hard undercooked lump of rice was a million miles from a risotto. The service was generally good although we asked for a split bill which didn’t happen. Be aware of the 12% service charge as well. I doubt I’ll return.

The restaurant is very trashy dispite the pictures online and the booking fee, the first impressions were terrible the seating was stained and the finish was out dated and dirty in places. My boyfriend had to switch the seats around to find the least stained for me to sit in. We sat there for 15 minutes no one offered us a drink or came to take our order. I had to call a lady over and ask her if we could order. There was a very kind server but she was relatively new and busy with other customers whilst the other two stood and chatted. When they brought our wine over they asked me to remove my small bottle of water from the table as we are not allowed to have it there I showed her my purse was small and it wouldn't fit she insisted I remove it from the table so I was forced to drink it while they watched and checked from the bar. Bruschetta arrived and the bread was a basic white thin slice, the flavour was ok but the bread was soggy and not remotely warm or fresh. I was however left to sit looking at it for a further 30mins before they came to remove it I ordered the sea bass and jullienne fries and my boyfriend ordered chicken calzone, although the food was ok it was standard food the fries were most likely frozen and the fish was pan fried with a separate garlic butter in a ramekins. The food was overpriced in my opinion as we weren't exactly paying for the service or the surroundings. All in all I wouldn't go back. Considering this place was bigged up online and there was a dress code and pre booking fee I expected better, but it looked as though the evening and weekend parties were having a detrimental effect on the aesthetic and service for the day time customer. Not a place I would revisit, seems there was some element of false advertising it is in no way upmarket, truly very disappointing.

Went for bottomless brunch on a Saturday evening, there were only 2 tables in there. The place was completely dead, so no atmosphere at all. DJ was good but food wasn’t great, cocktails were from a machine. I don’t expect to pay £45 for a brunch that serves machine cocktails that are so sweet you can’t even drink! Would never come back.

I would truly and honestly say this has to be the worst place I have ever been too in my life! I was bombarded with rudeness from the get go, if I hadn’t had paid a deposit before we would have left. A table 13, they wanted to squeeze us onto a table of 8. Then after a huff, we got moved to a table for 10, right next to the doorway. Table booked for 7:30 two of us arrived at 7:30 and the hostess straight away said we are giving your table up if you the rest of you don’t turn up. Food service was bad, the food matched. My prawns were like rubber, no flavour of Nduja, the beef was okay shocking really. Freezing cold when you have a lovely draft hitting the back of your neck. Please just save you money and time and go somewhere decent!!!!!!!!

Do not go here. It’s a catfish place. Food is not fresh, seafood pasta was made in less that 10 mins. There was no flavour in the pasta, just tasted like tomato. The mussels were mushy to the point where I had to spit them out, you couldn’t even chew them because they were mush and tasted old like frozen. TERRIBLE SERVICE as well. Rude lady at the front, absolute joke of a place. Focus less on your aesthetics and more or the food. How can I forget that when my drink came the strawberry was covered in fruit flies. AVOID THIS PLACE!!

No wonder it was empty except two ladies finishing up a cup of coffee. I should have walked back out! What a shame had a good meal before last year so came out of my way to come back. I had the seafood linguine which was claggy, cool tough/hard prawns, mussel shells were all cracked with pieces of shell in the meal. Virgin mojito was just syrup and the ‘iced’ water came begrudgingly without any ice. Very poor!

We have travelled from the north west and wanted a good traditional Italian meal this evening. The service was exceptionally poor - we had to ask for cutlery to eat pasta and for black pepper and Parmesan! We ordered some sides which were cold and had to be sent back and my husband sent his pasta back once to be served with an even more inedible dish. We sent the bill back on 4 occasions. Very, very disappointing and would not recommend.

Didn’t eat - just had coffee. Staff pleasant. Would NEVER go back - they had a live, lone lobster in a tiny tank with claws bound on display obviously for someone to choose to eat. Made me feel so sick and disgusted. This is a live creature. Repulsive and horrible practice. I wish there was something I could do. Absolutely vile

I was surprised to see a live lobster tank on display in the restaurant. Even though this practice is still legal, it raises serious questions about whether it reflects the standards of animal welfare most people in the UK now expect — especially since lobsters are legally recognised as sentient. Under the Animal Welfare Act, anyone keeping live animals must provide: • a suitable environment • a suitable diet • the ability to exhibit normal behaviour • appropriate housing with or away from others • protection from pain, suffering, injury and disease When you look at a restaurant tank through that lens, it’s difficult to see how these needs can realistically be met. Lobsters naturally live in complex, sheltered environments and use their claws for feeding and interaction. In a bare tank, with claws bound, they can’t behave normally, can’t feed naturally, and are often kept in close proximity to others despite being solitary animals in the wild. There’s also the issue of noise. Lobsters are extremely sensitive to vibration, so loud music or a live DJ — which other reviews mention — is likely to cause stress. That doesn’t sit comfortably with the requirement to protect animals from suffering. Since boiling lobsters alive is now illegal in the UK, it’s also reasonable for customers to expect clarity about which humane stunning method is being used instead. My intention isn’t to criticise the staff or the restaurant overall. It’s simply to encourage people to think about whether keeping sentient animals in these conditions is something we still want to support. Practices that were once considered normal are now being questioned, and I think this is one of them.

Needless to say, this was one of the worst brunches I have ever been to. Attended their after hours brunch yesterday. Arrived at 830pm. Took our food orders and started the bottomless. At 10pm they came over to advise us of last orders to which I informed them we hadn't received our food.... they had totally forgotten about us. A table of 6...and they forgot our food! Crazy. After some back and forth, they agreed to extend our bottomless until we had finished our food - unbelievable that this was even up for debate. They also threw in a tequila rose shot for us all (sarcastic woohoo). They served the starters and mains within no more than 15 mins of them realising their error. Whilst the starters were fine, the mains were totally inedible. Al dente is a complete understatement for how the pasta was cooked. They may as well have served it uncooked out of the packet. It was truly awful. The bill came and they had the cheek to include a service charge, which was highly laughable. If I had been the manager, for the sheer embarrassment of forgetting to feed a whole table, I would have knocked money off the bill, rather than trying to add a service charge on. I will most definitely never be visiting here again, nor will I recommend it to my wider circle. I'm no mystic meg, but I don't suspect Milano will be open for too much longer. So visit now and be disappointed whilst you still can. One saving grace was the music, which was actually pretty decent.
