We booked a table here for 10 of us to celebrate My Daughters 2nd Birthday & Niece’s 10th birthday. We haven’t been here in a very long time but every time we come we can never forget how good the food is the atmosphere the service. And today was no different we had a waiter named shahid who was catering for our family and he was so lovely. He even bought a cake not 1 but 2 cakes with candles to celebrate my daughter and niece. He was very kind friendly and smiley and that’s what a good service is. Other waiters were kind too so thank you all again.

My family and I had the most lovely time! The vibes were great, the staff were attentive and the restaurant catered for our needs. The food was beautiful and we had more than enough left over. It was authentic and traditional, we loved it. Thank you for a lovely time! We will be back again.

Excellent lobster curry and platter with delicious large prawns. I’ve been here a few times and the food is impressive and delicious each time. Service was friendly and fast. Recommended.

A* Always a pleasure to visit Asha’s Birmingham, Food is always superb! Shahan was our waiter for the afternoon and was attentive and very helpful. He was superb in recommending Summer cocktails and I loved my Raspberry Summer mix “Rickshaw Fizz”

This is my 2nd time going to Asha's Indian Fine Dining for weekday Lunch. The best Indian restaurant. This is my 1st time eating Indian fish and chips. The fish and the batter is so much better than the British fish because it is season with Indian herbs. The chips is the best I ever had. Think it dubbed cooked, skin is so crispy and inside so fluffy. The curry in a Hurry is cooked just right not to spicy and hot and it has loads of lamb in it. The downside is you will need to go on weekday to enjoy the set lunch. It is still worth 100% Michelin

My friends and I went to Asha's last night before going to the town Hall, we had a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable and attentive, the food was absolutely beautiful and the ambiance was stunning creating such a lovely atmosphere for the evening. A heartfelt thank you to Nouman and his amazing team for another memorable visit, a place that always feels special and never disappoints 👌

Absolutely blew me away! As far as Indian fine dining goes, this place is a total winner. The food was just incredible. Seriously, every dish was a hit, but the Gosht Yakhni Biryani was out of this world – so fragrant and the lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Prawn Shan E Nisha was packed with flavour, and the Lobster Panchphoran? Pure luxury and perfectly spiced. Beyond the fantastic food, the whole dining experience was amazing. The atmosphere was spot-on, and the service was top-notch. And a massive shoutout to Shubham! That espresso martini he made me was hands down the best I've ever had. If you're looking for an Indian meal that's a cut above the rest, Asha's is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!

As always Asha’s didn’t fail to impress. Very friendly and professional staff - prompt service and very attentive. The food was just incredible as always. I highly recommend the chicken keema which is the best dish I have tasted anywhere. I had to order an extra portion to take away…. In fact I always do as it’s so delicious. The rest of my family thoroughly enjoyed their food too and I was surprised by the staff with a lovely birthday cake at the end of the meal. Thank you again Asha’s for yet another special birthday meal. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Delicious food, a little pricey but you get what you pay for, fantastic fresh prepared dishes cooked to perfection Cocktails are amazing, again a bit pricey but well worth it. Service is exceptional very attentive and kind and helpful advice Our waitress Amisha was so good and attentive, which contributed to us having a lovely night, thanks

1st time, definitely not the last! It was very busy and the staff were lovely food was delicious but made the mistake of having a basket of poppadoms to start which was quite filling! Sadly couldn't eat all my main which was a shame as it was lovely so next visit will skip a starter but overall loved it!

Took mum to Asha's as a surprise birthday treat and it was simply delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive despite the restaurant being busy we were never left unattended for long periods of time. We started off with cocktails and starters which were amazing. The main course curries that followed did not disappoint either! Best of all, they noted mum's birthday and surprised her at the end of the meal with a slice of chocolate cake to celebrate. Very reasonably priced too for the sheer quality of food and service you get for your money. Couldn't fault it at all and look forward to going back whenever I return to Birmingham!

The food and ambiance was great in Asha’s. Really worth getting on first table. The staff was amazing: the waiter on charge I mentioned I had a sore throat and he said he would make me honey and lemon ginger water. I thought that was very kind and thoughtful and taste delicious too. ! I then got a chocolate cake at the end as it was my birthday :) Thank You Asha for a great experience 🥰

Amazing food today at Ashas, gorgeous curries and great service! Even the dessert was lovely :) highly recommend Ashas to anyone looking for a nice and cosy dinner or a date. (Ps. Deffo recommend the butter chicken, the best one I’ve had!)

Asha's in Birmingham is a culinary gem! The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it ideal for both special occasions and relaxed evenings out. The menu is a delightful exploration of Indian cuisine, with each dish crafted to perfection. From the rich, flavorful curries to the perfectly cooked biryanis, every bite is a testament to the chef's skill and passion. The service is impeccable, with staff who are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring a memorable dining experience. If you're in Birmingham and craving authentic Indian flavors, Asha's is an absolute must-visit!

It was a great experience at Ashas last month. Panner curry, starter and naan was really tasty. Rumali roti wasn't great. Service was really fast and atmosphere was amazing. They surprised with a deser knowing we were there for birthday

I would argue one of the best restaurants close to Birmingham new street station. Service is amazing and so is the atmosphere. Ordered the butter chicken with a side of rice and naan and another chicken dish (I cannot remember the name of it but if it looks good to you ask the server as this was 10/10 highly recommended!!).

Very nice restaurant, service was good, the waiter was very nice. The food was good, The Padpadi Chaat was ok (expensive for what it was), the sev were fresh and phulla was nice too. The Aloo Tikki was very very good, for mains we had Kadrai Paneer tasted lovely asked for spicy (wasn’t so spicy) but the sauce was absolutely lovely tasting with large chunks of paneer and Chicken Chettinadu again a lovely dish, cheese naan was very good and tandoori roti. The kids had fries which were not on the menu and a Trio of Ice Creams. The chocolate ice cream was amazing! It’s nice inside however, I feel the food was very good but seemed like something was missing and quite expensive! Presentation of all the dishes was very good. £124 including one Lassi and One Diet Coke.

Came here for a chilled meal on a Sunday evening. Great service and since it wasn’t busy it was a very chilled atmosphere. I got the rogan Josh and it was probably one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Keema naan was pretty average and the prices were a little high but I think it was worth the quality for the curry and the great service

Great experience at Asha's, food was really nice and service was excellent. We got 50% off the bill using FirstTable, so it was good value as well.

I came here to celebrate a family birthday. On first impression the place seemed very posh. The dress code was smart casual but there were customers in there wearing shorts and tshirt but most people made an effort and came very smartly dressed. We were taken to the bar to wait while the table was readied. We waited around 15 mins before being seated. The atmosphere was lively and lighting low. It would have been nice to have listened to Asha's music rather than some other music, we did ask for it but were told they didn't play it. There was plenty of drinks and food choice available. Our food order was taken but the starters took quite some time to arrive by which time we were very hungry. All of our food was very tasty, the chicken and lamb was tender. I chose the selection on deserts which is preselected by Asha's. This was so tasty, full of flavour and very filling. I'll definitely be coming back here one day.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Asha Food Restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience! The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely fantastic. I had the Malai Soya Chaap and the Cheese Mushroom, and both dishes were absolutely divine. The Malai Soya Chaap was incredibly flavorful and had a perfect balance of spices. The texture of the soya chaap was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. Highly recommended!

Food was equisite. So was the price. Put simply, the most wonderful Indian food I've ever tasted and it was all over quickly and at a cost. That's what you pay for quality. The restaurant was beautiful and very busy with a lovely atmosphere.

First time we had been to Asha's and we weren't disappointed. We decided to try the taster menu and the food was amazing from start to finish. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

I had a meal with my family @ Asha’s. The food was amazing especially the dessert. Me and my wife ordered the dessert platter and our son had a chocolate cheesecake. We enjoyed the drinks too. Amisha was our server. Fantastic girl. She looked after us really well. Our food was arriving on time. Our overall experience was 10 on 10. Definitely recommend it.

First ever visit today and it won't be the last. The service was fantastic, the waiting staff were attentive and allowed you time to look at the menu unlike some places that ask what you want minutes after giving you the menu. The food was full of flavour and i can see why it gets so many plaudits.

Fantastic hosts for a corporate event , we were lucky enough to return to Asha’s for our work Xmas meal for the second time . Asha’s are attentive to dietaries , excellent communication throughout the booking and confirmation stage . The food is fresh plentiful , generously requires no pre order as there is a set menu . Everyone was happy with the food , service and we were also placed in the private dining area which was a lovely touch - Thankyou for having us once again .

This review is for Ameesha (or Amisha), our lovely waitress who is an asset to this establishment. She was kind, eloquent, patient and made sure our entire dinner experience was flawless. If this is the type of service that is offered at Asha’s, then I would definitely return. Ameesha deserves a raise. Thanks again Ameesha and Asha’s for a lovely dinner.

Great food and excellent service. The staff are really friendly and attentive. I think if I’m honest, the dishes are a little expensive for what they are. A curry shouldn’t really be edging towards £30 and rice £8 etc. I would rate the Viceroy Tandoori down the road as better than Asha’s but prefer Asha’s to the also close by Rajdoot. Overall, I would still recommend a visit.

Nice place, atmosphere was good, service & staff was very cordial and good. Nice deco inside, well spaced. It's a pricey one though. Food was good, surprisingly despite eating non spicy Malai Paneer & roti faced GERD, not sure why. Qnty is good. Do suggest to others to try their cuisines.

Had the executive lunch. The mint chutney, rice, panner all were awesome Service is also wonderful and top notch. Only thing they should have is one veg maharashtrian dish x 365 days. That would be the right tribute to your homeland and letting the world experiance it.

Good ambience and service. Food is of good quality. Authentic Indian taste for most food. Drinks were of top quality. People in the group did not like butter chicken. Vegetarian sheek kabab was dry and leaked flavour. Gajar halwa was fantastic. Rasmalai was bland.

Recently visited for the Executive Lunch Menu. Tasty food, good veggie options and portion sizes.

Amisha is very kind and hospitable to the tourist like me. Tom Cruise’s menu, Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan with the sparkling water is perfect for the film tourist experience. All the experience is very nice. Thank you, Asha’s and Amisha. I strongly recommend this restaurant in Birmingham.

Went here after my husband visited last year, for our wedding anniversary. On arrival we were seated and welcomed on our special evening. We ordered 3 curries, 2 rice and a naan. Curries were the Railway Lamb, the Kadhai Paneer & Panjim fish curry. Pilau rice & fried rice. Peshwari naan. Food came quickly, each of the curries were beautiful for different reasons. The lamb curry was for the flavour, paneer for the texture and gorgeous paneer, fish for the rounded balanced taste. Both rice were light and fluffy. Our gifted dessert was a nice touch, and it's these things that often make a difference. Would go again, but as we live in Yorkshire not as often as I would like. But worth the trip.

The Indian food here was authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfectly spiced! However, the dessert didn’t quite live up to the rest of the meal. I would still highly recommend for anyone craving a fantastic Indian dining experience!

A fantastic first experience at Asha’s. Concise authentic Indian menu ranging from mild to spicy dishes. Plenty of starters, curries and sundries to choose from. A beautiful interior with a bar, stools, tables for all party sizes and booths. Clean, well kept and calm ambiance. Privacy as well as openness. Amazing staff who were professional and considerate. We ordered the lamb shank (so tender and falling off the bone) and the Palak Paneer, with butter naan and peshwari naan which was so delicious and fresh. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay which went perfectly with the meal. The desserts included authentic indian dish sea such as rasmalai and gulab jamun as well as cakes and crumbles. I will definitely be visiting again.

Went to Asha’s around 5 in the evening to have a snack break, had been there before for dinner which was really good. Tbh their vegetarian starter menu is very limited would rather prefer dishoom (as they have a huge vegetarian selection). We ordered vegetable kebab platter, it was really good and enough to be shared between 2 people. Their drinks menu is larger than their food menu though 😂. But overall a good experience, will go without saying that it’s pricey but this is what you pay for experience and goodwill(Asha’s).

Delicious food and pleasant ambience. Good portion sizes. The staff are friendly and polite. Not quite buggy or wheelchair friendly (4-5 steps at the entrance) although they do have highchairs for little eaters. Drinks are amazing and quite stunning too. Special mention for their roomali roti, which is superb! Not many places offer this, but Asha's did not disappoint!

I was apprehensive about booking a table here, but I'm glad we did as we weren't disappointed. The quality of the food and service was excellent. We asked for the dishes to be prepared authentically and they delivered; each dish had its own distinct flavour and the spice was perfectly balanced. The restaurant is a lovely place to be, but it did get quite noisy, so we were shouting at each other just to hold a conversation. The toilets also got quite messy as the evening went on, which wasn't pleasant. Overall we had a great evening and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Very nice food. The items I had seemed to have a North Indian influence and were lovely, but pricey. The welcome is not as warm as I would expect from this brand and price level. It seems very rushed and could be improved. For this price level, I would expect some level of conversation and not just order taking. As mentioned the food, drinks (including mocktails which my kids loved) and desserts were lovely, but be prepared for your wallet to take a hammering.

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant on 12th Sep, thanks to Shivani. She was extremely polite, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. Shivani made sure that everything was served on time, checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Her warm and friendly attitude made our dining experience truly enjoyable. Thank you, Shivani, for your excellent service — we will definitely visit again and hope to be served by you next time too!

In terms of authenticity and taste Id rate it 6.5/10. Definitely not worth the high Price. But I have to say portion size was very good. To summarize, even though the food is good, it's overpriced compared to other options like Dishoom.

The staff were amazing, very kind and welcoming. Very professional. Decor was very nice, unfortunately the food was not amazing. It was nice. Just disappointing for the price. I was expecting some amazing Indian cuisine experience. Unfortunately we were disappointed. It had been a very nice experience, however sadly we would not return.

We visited Ashas Birmingham on 20th January to celebrate my son’s 8th birthday. The starters were excellent — both the vegetarian and non‑vegetarian options were delicious — and the staff were generally friendly. However, the birthday experience was very disappointing. I had given the team a cake in advance so they could bring it out as a surprise, but when they did, there was no birthday wish, no song, and no effort to make the moment feel special for him. It felt rushed and impersonal, and my son didn’t feel celebrated at all. Last year, he had his birthday in a local pub in Dorridge, where the staff went out of their way to make it memorable — they sang for him, wished him warmly, stayed with us while we cut the cake, and even took a photo. That level of care makes a huge difference, especially for a child. Unfortunately, Ashas didn’t show the same attention to detail, and because of that, we won’t be celebrating family birthdays here again.

been on our to-do list for a long time, finally got round to visiting. firstly, we had a great evening here, and have no regrets about trying the venue. however, our overall views are :- the staff & service were fantastic - friendly & efficient - perfect. the food - great quantity of food (almost too much!) and the quality of the meat & prawns etc was fantastic. however, the overriding impression was that the flavours & style of the dishes were disappointingly & surprisingly average - we were expecting a bit more style & flavour to be honest. so for that reason, we felt that value-wise, the meal was overpriced compared to indian food elsewhere, so it'll be a one off experience for us. but, as I said at the beginning, we did enjoy ourselves, and recommend others try the restaurant.

I recently visited Asha’s and had a mixed experience. The customer service was excellent — the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere is also amazing — elegant, warm, and perfect for a nice evening out. As vegetarians, we were pleased to see a good selection of dishes on the menu, and the presentation was beautiful. The portion sizes were generous, but unfortunately, the flavors didn’t quite live up to the presentation. For the price, the food felt a bit underwhelming and overpriced. Overall, Asha’s is a lovely place to visit for the ambience and service, but if you’re going mainly for the taste, especially for vegetarian dishes, it might not completely meet your expectations.

Came here to say for our work Christmas party. Location from new street is good, and the interior of the restaurant is very nice. We were given a small room for about 28 of us, but another table of 8 was next to us in the room. Waiters were efficient with giving out drinks and especially ensuring the vegetarians got the correct food. Starters were typical indian restaurant, somosa, paneer, chicken, lamb shish. Curries looked good, good portion, colour spice and taste as well as plenty of rice pilau and roti.

D
Dominic Sarracco

The decor of the restaurant is undeniably impressive, with plenty of celebrity photos lining the walls that add to its charm. I visited with a friend, and we both agreed that the lady who served us was one of the most strikingly beautiful people we've ever seen. The food was good, but not exceptional—certainly not enough to justify the price. For two curries, one naan, one rice, poppadoms and two drinks, the bill came to nearly £100. There are nearby places like Shababs that offer more flavour at half the price, which really puts things into perspective. Service was mixed. The poppadoms arrived quickly, but the mains followed before we’d even finished them, making the experience feel rushed. We had to move everything around to make space, which disrupted the flow of the meal. After finishing, we had quite a bit of food left, but no one asked if we wanted to take it home—it was simply cleared away. We then had to wait quite a while to get the bill. Overall, while it's better than many takeaways and the setting is lovely, I don't think I'll return. The decor is really the only standout feature compared to other Indian restaurants I've tried.

A
Aashray Gangalam

A very good restaurant. However, the food was quite disappointing. I expect more from Asha's considering the prices. The 'rumali roti' was too thick and felt like a chapati. The 'lucknowi nali nihari' didn't really taste like a nihari as the meat was not tender enough; it tasted more like a decent lamb curry. Asha's is place that does hold good memories for my family and I, and it's sad to see how the standard of the food has fallen. Overall, I will sadly not be coming back. Nor would I recommend it to others as well. Especially considering the price. As it is very easy to get much cheaper food that tastes just as good.

A
Alanna McKenna

My partners curry had a long black hair (likely from the female server), although unpleasant and disruptuve, it was dealt with swiftly and his meal replaced. I was ok to keep my dish while he waited for a fresh one, have to say though, my railway lamb was very bland, no heat as was described. The nan was lacking ghee, very dry. Very unspecial food for the price. Friendly and attentive service.

S
Suathi Devendra

Being honest, this place is not worth the hype. They asked about allergies, and I clearly mentioned that I have a severe beetroot allergy. For a restaurant that has won “Best Curry” awards, I genuinely expected much better standards — but the experience was disappointing from the start. No one bothered to offer help with our jackets or even inform us that there was a place to keep them. The service team felt unprofessional and unproductive, casually speaking Hindi right next to our table. It completely ruined the dining atmosphere. We ordered a ginger drink, and even the presentation was careless — a tiny glass paired with an oversized straw, which looked awkward and cheap. But the biggest issue was the dangerous negligence regarding my allergy. We ordered Malai Chicken as a starter, and despite mentioning the beetroot allergy more than five times, they still served the dish with beetroot sauce on the same plate as garnish. No one informed us about it. My friend noticed the sauce just in time and asked me to stop eating. This is unacceptable, especially when dealing with a severe allergy. We spent £200 for two people, and it was absolutely not worth it. If you truly want great Indian food, I would strongly recommend Dishoom or Pushkar. Asha’s was a big, big flop and a complete disappointment as food quality was very bad. The lady at the reception didn’t even bother to smile, although the gentleman serving our table was polite and helpful. Sadly, everything else was far below the standard you would expect from a restaurant with such a reputation.

So disappointed with our trip to Asha’s yesterday for my sisters birthday. Customer service when we arrived was terrible. Staff seemed uninterested. We stood there waiting to get a table for ages and staff were just walking straight past us. It was only when we approached a staff at the bar to say can someone help us and we want a table is when we got noticed. Once we sat down simple jug of water took ages. Was getting rushed to order. We then asked a member of staff their recommendations and mentioned what we usually like and go for. He just stood there and pulled faces at us. Wasn’t helpful and said “can you you hurry up and pick now”. So we decided to call someone else over because the previous guy with glasses on was rude. Eventually the food came out and honestly the taste wasn’t there at all. Bland and no flavour I was so shocked because the reviews are good and also other friend’s have been and had a good experience. Bill come up to around £150 definitely don’t think that was good quality for £150 worth of food at all. Since being back home all 4 of us have been ill. We’ve been sick number of times through the night and today. So disappointed to receive this kind of service, food like this and being ill on what was meant to be a special occasion. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all.

E
ENNISHETTY HRITHIK

Birthday spent well upset by Asha’s It was not at all a warm welcome we are just helping our self to make us comfortable Extremely disappointing experience overall. The food quality was far below the standard expected for the very high prices they charge. The dishes were bland, poorly presented, and did not taste fresh at all. Paying premium prices for such average food is unjustifiable. The service was equally poor staff were slow, inattentive, and showed little concern for customer satisfaction. MOST ALARMING WAS THEIR NEGLIGENCE TOWARDS FOOD ALLERGIES . Even after clearly informing the staff about an allergy, it was not taken seriously, which is unsafe and completely unacceptable. We have order the malai chicken as starter which was served with the beetroot sauce were there was severe beetroot allergy With overpriced food, poor service, and a lack of concern for guest safety, this restaurant fails on every level. I will not be returning and strongly do not recommend this place, especially for guests with dietary restrictions.
