Great food , service and atmosphere. Our waiter Ash was top notch and advised us on the popular dishes plus accompanying side dishes. The food was prepared freshly and tasted great. We also received a complementary starter due to it being our first visit and this shows that the restaurant went over and above to showcase their quality food.
Heavily pregnant and did not feel like going out anywhere but as soon as me and my husband stepped into Zaazu we were made to feel so welcomed and comfortable by all the staff especially Owais. The service was impeccable! No awkward timings either when asking if we needed anything, very attentive. The mocktail I ordered made by Owais was the best mocktail I have ever had and all his recommendations from the lamb shank biryani to the rasmalai cake were absolutely 10/10! And the lamb chops literally melted in my mouth! Atmosphere was vibrant and definitley can not wait to go back because thr food was amazing.
Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday meal as we were staying in an AirBnb close by. Service was top tier, the lads were very attentive. We had a cocktail each which were both top quality, although I wish they sold lassi here. Food was beautiful, it felt a lot more authentic than your typical Indian restaurant. If you don't handle spice very well then maybe ask for recommendations as it's on the hotter side, masala chips were very spicy. Different dishes to choose from, the selection was great. Very much enjoyed it although quite pricey, came to nearly £90 for two. Would return if I was in the area
We had Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. The menu is a bit limited but everything was cooked to perfection. There were 3 courses of which one was a mixed grill which included some spicy items. The others were traditional British dishes, beef, lamb, chicken all accompanied vegetables, stuffing, and yorkshire puddings. The starters and desserts were also traditional items. We will definitely go again and enjoy the food in exquisite surroundings.
Ok so after passing this restaurant we finally got to try it and honestly, the food was superb. I couldn't bring myself to lose a star as the flavours and options were just worth every bite. But my only negative which I will give more as constructive criticism is, if there is anything on the menu that is unavailable please advise customers before they look. However, the service was brilliant, everyone worked hard to ensure we was enjoying our dining experience at Zaazu. The chefs are doing an amazing job between them. Food was to perfection and we left very satisfied after our meals. I will be recommending and returning. Thank you
This was our first trip to the restaurant since the refurb. As soon as we entered we were all very impressed with the decor and layout. We visited on a Sunday as we fancied trying the new Sunday menu. 2 of us already knew what we were having (Indian mixed grill with a roast dinner twist) From the moment we arrived the customer service was excellent, as soon as we were seated we were asked what drinks we wanted, these arrived on the table within minutes of ordering. The 4 dinners also arrived pretty quickly after ordering. The mix grill was faultless, the different meats were cooked perfectly and all very tender and the curry gravy was absolutely gorgeous. I genuinely can’t praise this meal enough, one of the best meals I’ve ever had, my friend also said the same. Our partners opted for the beef and chicken dinners, again they were both delicious, the beef was pink and so tender, and the gravy was perfect. All the meals were reasonable priced, no dearer than some of the other restaurants we sometimes visit on a Sunday. We all highly recommend this place if you’ve never been before. We can’t wait to return.
Fantastic food, the atmosphere was lovely, had a ub40 tribute singer on ,he was brilliant. The staff were just non stop all night looking after all the diners. There were 4 of us dining here and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.we will be coming here again 🥰
My fiancée and I ate here 2 years ago and loved the food and the experience. The restaurant manager went out of his way to ensure we had the best experience. We’ve now come back this time with our 16 month old daughter and again, Zaazu’s staff including the restaurant manager went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. Every time we are back in the area we will be sure to visit.
Been here a couple of times, tonight it was Elvis night. Pre-booked meals. Service and quality is top notch. Servers are polite and attentive. Food is fresh, innovative, mixing traditional and modern flavours and presented as high end. Wine, cocktail and beer list is minimal but effective, with enough range and imagination that customers are not disappointed.
Was a lovely meal from start to finish! The food was so tasty and the staff were very attentive to when we needed new drinks or when we were ready for the next course. Very good value for money also, we left feeling very satisfied with everything and will definitely return! We also got a lovely desert given to us as a freebie as a present to my dad which was such a thoughtful gesture! Thank you!
We’ve been to Zaazu restaurant several times now after it being recommended to us by friends and it’s quickly became our favourite local restaurant. The food is delicious and there’s lots of options on the menu. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully and has a great atmosphere. Me and my partner also booked for valentines night this year and we were again very impressed. The food and service was brilliant as always even with the resturant being packed. The singer really added to our evening and the valentines balloons and rose petals at each table which was a lovely touch. I definitely recommend Zaazu
Came here for a birthday meal. The staff went above and beyond, I had mistakenly told one of our party that they also did traditional English food. The staff catered for us by putting a chicken breast aside to make a very nice grilled chicken and chips. Will definitely be coming back again
Unfortunately I am allergic to spices and peppercorns. This was not a problem for the staff. They took great care with my food making sure that I was ok at various times throughout the meal. The staff were lovely to everyone and were kind and polite despite us taking over the restaurant. Thank you to all the staff both waiting on, behind the bar and also in the kitchen
Christmas Dinner for 9 people hence the higher price. This was absolutely worth every penny right from the start of the booking process. Great communication re dietary needs before and again at the start of the meal - two gluten free. Really spacious restaurant, tables not on top of each other. Service was excellent, Great array of starter choices on a platter, gf on a separate plate. Food was piping hot and plenty of it: in fact we took doggy bags home! Would highly recommend if they can do this on a Christmas day, its commendable.
Visited Zaazu last night for my 44th birthday with family and friends. The service was excellent with very welcoming staff and we loved how the place looked! We sat in the bar area and tried a couple of cocktails which were great! Then we moved to a table and had dinner. The food received rave reviews from everyone at the table! We will definitely be returning as this place is a little gem! Thank you and happy new year!
Had the best experience ever last night. The food and service were brilliant. I am peskitarian and my mum is vegetarian and we have so many options to chose from, the waiter even offered to make personalised dishes for us. Each dish had a unique flavour which is uncommon at Indian restaurants, The waiter (ash) explained each component to each dish and made us feel so welcome. I Will definitely be back. Loved the atmosphere so much
We had an anniversary meal tonight second year in w row. Food is absolutely amazing, handmade cocktails top tier. Staff very kind and pleasant. Would 100% recommend
Tried this place for the first time for the UB40 tribute night. Atmosphere was amazing and staff were super attentive even with how busy it was. Kibs made sure that we had everything that we needed the whole night. The food as amazing. Will be returning with friends and family.
Taking my son to Thomas Land this weekend on a short getaway from Essex and we found this place on Google. Glad we visited as the food was absolutely spot on. I'd go as far as saying the best curry I've had in a long long time. Wife is fussy and she said the same. We had a good mix of dishes and each one of them was faultless. They had a kids menu for my son who had nuggets and they were definitely home made. Wish it was local.
First time going to this restaurant, though had been to it's predecessor. Really nice interior and staff are well dressed and friendly. Food was good quality, nice to have an Indian and experiment a little, not a typical menu. There was also live music though this wasn't my cup of tea so I've scored it down on atmosphere. I'd rather listen to traditional Indian live music to be honest that would be great. Having said that, I've never experienced live music in a curry house before, so good effort to stand out. Perfect place for a special occasion. We were served by Muj who was very attentive and helpful.
I hired the private dinning for a Bridal Shower and I can confidently say that I had the best experience. Communication with Mo was so clear; Him and the rest of the staff made sure to make our experience memorable. I received such good feedback from the guests. The interior is beautiful! The food was amazing and Mo took his time with all the guests, to explain the dishes according to their preferences. Thanks Mo & the rest of the team for going above and beyond.
Had a fantastic meal here with my friend on Saturday, I was gobsmacked how amazing it looked, the decor was to die for and the food, well…it was bursting with gorgeous flavours and I just couldn’t stop myself from wanting to have a bit of everything, this to me is on level with the top restaurants I have been to in London and around the world… loved every minute of being there, will go back very soon, it’s a place you must go to and experience the ambiance, food and excellent service. We’ll done guys you smashed it
We loved the atmosphere and environment here. The server named call Saj was excellent service with patient. I would recommend people come for visiting. And we celebrated my friend birthday, they offered us a cake for celebration, which was appreciated :)
Lovely restaurant with beautiful interior. Very clean and staff were great! For starters we ordered the hawkers platter which was incredible! I’m a very big chaat lover - and this chaat was something else. We really enjoyed it and wanted more! So unique and was presented so nicely. We also ordered the lamb cutlets which were cooked to perfection. Had cheese on them which was again different but tasted amazing. For mains we ordered the lamb shank biryani which came with raita and we ordered the beef brisket curry which was so so good! Never had brisket curry first time and it was 10/10. The lamb shank was really good too. We would deffo come back here to try the other dishes. Service was 10/10.
Visited last night with my boys for my birthday. The place itself it pretty! The food was amazing…. Butter chicken was the best I’ve ever had! The service did not disappoint either. The highlight was the lobsters in the tank 🤣. Only down side was … no hand wash in the loo
We came for the Sunday dinner. It was absolutely beautiful. Best weve had. Good sized lamb shank, and lots of choice on the Mixed grill. Ash and Gurv were really friendly too
Really nicely decorated restaurant, nice seating lighting and flooring, food looked good and tasted good, service was great too. Can't fault it, would go again for sure.
Visited this restaurant last night with friends visiting from Turkey and Wales. Wow.... the venue is stunning. Mo the owner met us at door so personable and lovely. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Food was fabulous and drinks especially cocktails were lush. The UB40 tribute was great, lovely voice and very respectful of diners but good fun. . The atmosphere was electric ....chatting across tables and just good old fashioned fun. Definately a place I will be returning to 😁😁😁😁😁
Although in a strange location your transported once inside. It's decorated nicely, and the food and drinks are all amazing. The portion sizes are generous, and everything I've had has been delicious. We also especially the cocktails.
I took my mum here for a Blues brother's tribute night for her birthday. She had such a fabulous night, and the food was enjoyed by all. The staff are so lovely and attentive. Highly recommend to all!
Really good food and great service. A unique menu which I haven’t seen anywhere else. We were served Owas who was really attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is great with live music. Would recommend.
We visited this restaurant for the first time and were thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared – faultless from start to finish. Cocktails were excellent, and the service was outstanding. We were even treated to a complimentary starter, which was a lovely touch. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the pricing was very reasonable. The building and interior are lovely, adding to the overall atmosphere. It was a little loud, but that’s to be expected on a busy evening. We’d happily return and highly recommend it to others.
Just returned from this restaurant after our first visit for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and service also. Would highly recommend and will be returning to try their evening menu.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service couldn’t have been better – friendly, attentive, and genuine. The food was exceptional – every dish was packed with flavour, and the chicken was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish.
Can't fault the food, it was excellent and the service for a table of 9 was good. Service charge of 10% was reasonably obliged on the bill. Nice experience, but at over £60 per person is an expensive beer and curry night.
The food is always nice here. BUT We’d not been in a while and was a bit shocked by £155 bill for 4 and then another £15 added automatically for service. The customer should decide this… also if you’re going to charge this the service needs to be better. We asked 4 times for water. One side dish was forgotten so came after we’d finished and 2 portions of one dish came when only one ordered.
Really good fancy Indian Restaurant. Food is more restaurant style rather than your traditional takeaway as expected. I chose the Get Carried Away which is a selection of 4 different curries to try. The palak paneer handi was epic and highly recommend. We ordered far too much but devoured the lot. Great looking place, attentive staff and a great experience.
So we decided to have dinner at this place for my mums birthday. When we walked in, we fell in love with the interior it was so beautiful. Staff were very kind and friendly and sat us down straightaway. We decided to order quite a few things off the menu. For starters, we ordered Bombay Chicken Schezuan which was really nice soft and full of flavour. Rajeshwari Lamb Chops which were cooked to perfection however didn't enjoy the flavours much for these. Chilli Milli fries they were delicious. Zaazu tasting platter which had malwani prawns which I loved, tandoori tikka was amazing too, didn't really enjoy the Beef tacos, the samaso chaat was okay too. For mains we ordered the Lamb shank biryani. I didn't enjoy this much, unfortunately, as the masala to the biryani was very runny and watery we barely had any dry rice, it just was soggy. The mocktails we ordered were Blue colada and Naughty Cat. Both were absolutely amazing one of the best mocktails I have had. They had live music on the day however the choice of performance wasn't great as it was crazily loud for the restaurant vibe which we didn't enjoy as we were unable to have a conversation during dinner or hear anything unfortunately due to that we had to rush in eating and leave... overall some dishes were great some not to my taste. Definitely worth a try as fairly new, so will defo have its hiccups. Customer service was brilliant. they really looked after us. They also gave us a starter on the house cauliflower Sesame chilli which my mother absolutely loved.
We went for Sunday lunch after seeing their great Instagram video of the food on offer. Unfortunately, what we got was far from what they are promoting. Starter, expected more Tempura prawns than the lonely serving for what it costs.E.g. on the Sunday lunch menu, it states lamb chops with the mixed grill. What arrived was one dry lamb chop. Only enjoyable part of my dish was the chicken. Very moist and tasty.Presentation of the food is not great. Scattered on the plate, presumably to make it look plentiful. My friend had the lamb Sunday roast. The lamb was small, dry, and lacked seasoning. Both plates far from a great Sunday lunch and not aligned to their promotion on Instagram. Disappointing experience!
Ok.... this place is a mixed bag of goodies and BADDIES. Very nice decor, and with the live entertainment great atmosphere. Service was good until the bill.... tried to double up on the desert. Sorry , it was fairly good but not worth paying twice for. Then, the service charge (optional but on bill) wasn't explained well and was not calculated correctly after the desert was removed from the bill. 3 attempts to get my bill correct. Now the food, although not bad , isn't good enough to be value for money. Chef was trying to do something with his dishes to make them stand out, but in my opinion, failed miserably. Example lamb shank biriani was totally impractical. Shank in bowl of rice with sauce on the bottom, so when trying to strip lamb off the bone, I was scattering the rice all over the table (messy) plus couldn't mix the sauce with rice because the shank was an obstacle to big mix everything together without scattering the rice over the table again. Another failure was samosas in the coconut shell... yes, those are samosas in the yellow looking icecream. It was some sort of moose. Sorry, so much potential, but fell short with a thud.
We booked 8 of us for the Ub40 night for 7.30pm weeks in adavnce got there on time. A a weird set up off tables set up. Found it hard to talk to people due to this. Took ages to take our order and get drinks and food. 2 hrs in and only had the poppadoms. One of our friends are gluten free and they forgot her food. 1 Starter came out with mains. They really could not cope with the amount of people. My 2nd visit and this time will be my last as last time was the same. Will not be returning expensive night out with average food and bad service. Never asked if food was ok. Nothing to good to say
Went for an evening with Adele. Obviously a tribute act. But she spent most of the evening singing 80's classics. When doing Adele songs. She was okay. Not a great impersonation of someone so Iconic. The food was nice. Not great. Lots of battered or deep fried options. Which surprised us. Menu was large. Tables were small. Good cocktails. But for 4 courses and 4 alcoholic drinks. The bill was £130 pounds!!!! The food did not warrant the cost! Also, I hate businesses that pre add service charges. If I want to leave a tip. If it's earned, I will!!! And whilst server was good. Not one checked to see if our starters where acceptable, when someone did with our mains, we where halfway through, so was too late, even if we were not happy with them! We won't be rushing back that's for sure!also no disabled parking! Not a great first experience there. Place is beautiful. Person who served us was also very polite, friendly, helpful. Tbh, a highlight was our server.
In all honesty I came here with great expectations as I’ve seen how fancy the restaurant is on social media platforms and it’s been refurbished to a high standard we missed it twice as the main road sign was not working, so we drove on to the carpark which is off the side street not off the filling station entrance. We went in side greeted by a smart gentlemen and shown to a table that was only a two seater despite having a little one with us so it was 2 seater table with 3 people’s food also no children’s menu provided which was disappointment ordered our drinks and poppadoms they came relatively quick but bare in mind we hadn’t ordered yet, it took us another 10-15mins to get attention to place the meal order. The starters had arrived not bad another 15-20mins wait for the main meal when they had arrived saw the jalfrezi I was deflated no sign of fresh chillies was barely slightly hot also the curry tasted of spicy tomato soup I’m guessing the chef must of put a spoon full of tomato purée in going on to the Rajastani lal mans had better, came with infused charcoal sitting inside the curry in a little dish it was just average, the egg fried rice was dark brown for some bizarre reason and the naan bread was on small size. The plates were cold too I don’t know if that’s how they serve them cold because when it’s a new restaurant the policies change too. The serving lads were good when they were around but I think more care should be taken in service the manager should keep tabs on these little things when we finished our meal the the plates were not cleared it’s these little things that puts you off not having a nice coffee or desert, it’s a shame it has service charge we got charged £7.95 definitely not worth it overall fabulous looking restaurant 10/10 Service 5/10 Food 5/10 Hope you can rectify these little niggles nothing can never be too much.
Visited this place with my family for my brothers birthday and honestly did not enjoy the dining experience. I ordered the kashmiri angus strip loin and asked for it to be cooked medium however the steak was brought out well done, very chewy and lacked flavour which was very disappointing, expected better from a £27 steak. The portion size was also very small. My family also did not enjoy the food. The vibes and atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the staff were accommodating so that was a plus however would not visit again, not worth the 30 minute drive, better places in Birmingham.
