We booked our first visit here, using the 'First Table App' 3 of us dined here. We had 3 main meals and 3 desserts, all food was tasty. The restaurant was really busy when we arrived but this didn't impact the service we received. All staff were very polite and helpful. Only slight negative, the restaurant was really, really hot. Which we all said was quite uncomfortable. Other than this, we said we would definitely go back for another visit.
THE best Greek restaurant in Birmingham. Having come from a Greek Cypriot background myself, I can honestly say this is very authentic Greek. Cooked fresh, amazing service and the atmosphere is incredible. I’d recommend the mixed grill for one and calamari as my faves but it’s all so nice! Great cocktails too if you want to celebrate a special occasion.
The food was very good and incredibly tasty. It is true that it’s quite expensive, and not very budget-friendly if you want to try many small plates — although that’s exactly what we did! Hahaha Very close to the authentic Greek experience, and of course, we ended the meal with some raki.
Discovered this place on Google Maps when looking for somewhere to book for a pre-theatre dinner. Really happy to have found it! 😍 The atmosphere is lovely, the meal and drink presentations were beautiful, and everything was delicious 😋 I also thought the menu was beautiful and had lots of drink and meal options. I had the mezze platter and Pandora’s Box cocktail. The platter had so much flavour with a good selection of dips, and the cocktail was yummy and refreshing 😍 I will definitely go again and I can totally recommend this place to everyone!
One of the best Greek restaurants I have even been to. The food was amazingly delicious, the servers were really nice and the crowd was great. I had a great time out here, can’t wait to go again. Recommend- Do try the mix grilled platter but treat that as a last meal of the day as it is quite fulfilling.
Fabulous bottomless brunch, the food is out of this world, if you love greek food this is the place to go. We also had a GF dietary requirement and the staff was very reasurring and good food choices. Plenty of drink option aswell. A massive shout out to Emma, our waitress, she was amazing serving such a big table. The only down fall was that there wasn't any entertainment like they advertise . Would high recommend the bottomless brunch, such a shame they only do it on a Sunday, but would definitely return.
Amazing food, great service and ambience. Warm atmosphere and great quality food and great quantity too. Staff also checks for any allergies. Very good selection of traditional food and drinks. Decor is also beautiful, with flowers and old greek posters. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to experience a small part of Greek cuisine and culture.
Looking for an aesthetic, calm, welcoming Greek restaurant? Look no further when visiting the midlands, Mythos taverna was fabulous, snappy service with a smile from our wonderful server Donna, who made sure we had everything we needed, Festidious care was taken over the food prep and presentation, second to none taste, I cannot wait to come back again!
Amazing New Year’s Eve at Mythos!! The food was brilliant and I can confirm was authentic Greek food done properly. The lamb and chicken souvlaki were outstanding, perfectly cooked and full of flavour and the dips were excellent fresh and spot on. The entertainment was great with brilliant belly dancers and the service was faultless all night friendly, attentive and well organised. Highly recommend for anyone wanting proper Greek food. Absolutely approved 🇬🇷🍢🍷
I came here with my partner and two of our friends on a Friday evening for a meal. As soon as we walked on, I felt like I was in Greece. The decor was lovely and instantly set the atmosphere. The team were friendly and and helpful from the start. We ordered some drinks, a mixture of cocktails, wine and beer. Everything was presented lovely and tasted great! The food was amazing. The choice on the menu was brilliant, which made it difficult to pick. All the food we had was fantastic! True Greek flavours. There was also greek dancing carried out by the staff towards the later part of the evening which you were invited to take part in if you wished to. There was plate smashing as well which you could buy and do yourself during the greek dancing. Overall, we all had a fantastic time and were talking about when we next be back.
This place is incredible! I came for my birthday dinner with some friends and couldn’t have asked for anything better. The food was so, so good, the music and atmosphere are wonderful and we experienced the dancing/plate smashing which was so much fun! Also want to say a huge thank you to the staff for accommodating us when I messed up the booking. They moved the tables around and made sure we had somewhere to sit, which was just perfect. The whole team made us feel so welcome and comfortable.
The moment you walk in, you hear Greek music and friendly and polite staff welcomes you. Sat down immediately and were given the menus. There is plenty of options from dips, starters and mains. Plenty of drinks options as well including authentic Greek drinks. Cocktails are amazing. Portions are massive, recommend sharing. Meat platter is good value for money, lots of different meat, mushrooms and fries, dips come with it as well. The filo pastry with feta and spinach is beautiful too. Overall amazing experience, definitely recommend
We thoroughly enjoyed our bottomless brunch at Mythos. The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious and the service made for a great experience. They kept an eye on our drinks and allowed us to order as soon as our glasses were empty. All three of the cocktails included in their bottomless brunch were really tasty. The food selection was great and we really enjoyed every element. There was a real variety of people coming into the restaurant, couples, families and so on. Beautiful decor and outdoor seating too. I would 100% recommend and come back. Our server Emma made sure we had everything we needed, equally she allowed us to sit back and chat over our last drink of the brunch with no pressure to free up the table. Thank you for a beautiful meal.
Work Christmas meal. The food I ate was really nice. Not a fan of dips, so I didn't eat any. But the food I did eat, like the lamb and chicken kebabs, was amazing. The staff were great, especially the manageress. I think her name was 'Jo', but I'm not sure. They danced and got customers involved, and did some plate smashing (paid for), which was really fun. I had never heard of this restaurant before, but it was a great evening. Thank you.
needless to say that the food was absolutely amazing!! This was the first time i came here and it didn’t disappoint at all. My friend and i came for her early birthday celebration and ordered the grill set for two which was a steal for the amount of food that we got. The atmosphere was so elegant and very Christmas’s vibes. The staff were as good, very attentive and friendly, the hospitality was just amazing cant wait to come again!
Really nice atmosphere, and surprisingly spacious, even if it doesn't look like it from the outside. The staff are friendly and welcoming. This is the second time we've been here, and it was just as nice as the first. Calamari for starters and chicken souvlaki for mains. The calamari was beautiful, and the chicken souvlaki was so juicy, and tasty. Plenty of Tzatziki as well. Will definitely come back the next time we are in Birmingham.
Our third evening in Birmingham and our third visit here. And it was very good each time. Perfekt service, authentic greek food. Βαρβαγιάννη Ouzo, the good one! Really great. On Saturday there was even a live DJ.
Our first time to dine here: the atmosphere was like we were in Greece, the service was professional and friendly. Food was delicious the mix grill was perfectly cooked and the serving portion was big enough for two people 😋 seems like it is an authentic Greek restaurant. Definitely recommend this place. Thank you again for the awesome service.
Emma was a lovely waitress, lovely atmosphere and service, no improvements!!
The food was exceptional. Really enjoyed our visit pre-show to the O2 Institute. We had the theatre menu & it was so good. Fabulous dips & starters & the kebabs were awesome. The only downside was the coffee, I'm not sure what we were served. Definitely recommend a visit for the food.
Lovely food, setting and staff. After reading the low ratings I was a little worried but I don't know what they were on about. Can't say I've ever been served by nicer staff, all the food was lovely, it is a little pricey but worth the premium. Would highly recommend this place, definitely worth trying and I will certainly be coming back again
Went here today for bottomless brunch! I am half greek cypriot and the food was deffo authentic! Very generous portions of food and it was all really good. The drinks came quickly , and tasted really good too. Will be coming back again!
Thee best Greek restaurant I've been to. Very friendly, very traditional vibe. Food was amazing and very well priced. Don't change a thing....ever !
One of the most authenticated Greek hospitality I have ever seen , I could not find any flaws in terms of Presentation 10/10 most top review restaurants get 9/10 from me , taste 10/10 and trust me it not easy to give this rating , hygiene 10/10 , staff looking after the customer plus customer service 10/10 . Extremely friendly staff who don’t discriminate by size , culture difference everyone and anyone is most welcome, this restaurant has mark Wazzie approval stamp , well done guys and ladies just keep up the same level of service I visit again to see if you can keep up the same standards:)
My partner and I had a lovely and delicious dinner tonight. Stella was absolutely amazing! She recommended good food and drinks. Great decor, atmosphere and live music !
We came to celebrate our sisters birthday The food taste absolutely delicious ,worth for price.I liked the pandora cocktail it was one of the best i ever tried and loved the way its presented with dry ice.Lovely calm atmosphere and aesthetic to take pics.Customer service was great especially Donna was really sweet and lovely!!! Highly recommend
We went in here after panto, I'm a really fussy eater and have never been to a greek restaurant. I had the chicken skewers there were absolutely delicious, the chicken was so succulent! I'd highly recommend this restaurant
Had a lovely NYE celebration here with my family, the food was amazing and such great performers! The restaurant really felt like it took us back to Greece and all the staff was very accommodating, will 100% be visiting again, thank you for such a lovely atmosphere ☺️
We’d score higher stars if we could. This is the second time we have visited Mythos and it has never disappointed! The food is amazing and the staff are absolutely lovely. The atmosphere and music is amazing and we will definitely visit again!
We went for the kids birthday. It's a nice place with good ambience and a lovely decor. The food was great and the service was also excellent up until the waiter binned our leftovers when specifically told to pack it to go. May it was a misunderstanding but left us with disappointment. Other than that it was a lovely evening.
Wasn’t this a pub? The pub, whose name escapes me, occupied a prominent position on Hurst Street, at the rear of the Arcadian. I remember summer days where folk would gather outside, perched on benches, sipping Special Brew. 8 months ago the scene changed. Mythos Greek Tavern gracefully replaced it and added a much needed Mediterranean flavour. I love the decor. Red flowers, old photographs and wooden articulately tools decorate the interior. It’s bright, modern and quintessentially Greek. It is laid back service, which will not suit the anxious and jittery. I was presented with the lunch time special and full menu. The former has the offer of 2 starters and 1 main for £15. One of the best deals I’ve experienced on the Birmingham restaurant circuit. I was served some of the best examples of Greek cuisine I’ve ever had. Lovely presentation and very zesty in flavour. It’s a big old place and by the look of the menu, it caters for large groups.
The food was really high quality and tasty. The staff were friendly. The only negative point, in my opinion, was something that felt a bit unprofessional: they asked us if we wanted water, and then brought a bottle without mentioning it would be charged. We ended up paying £6 for it. I think it would have been better if they had informed us about that in advance.
Very aesthetic and cute slice of Greece in Birmingham city centre! I took my partner and greek friend before we went out, loved the menus and drinks, I had souvlaki and fried halloumi, good portions lots of chips but not as much tzatziki, oyster mushrooms came not very hot, food was a little on the expensive side for what it was. Maybe they should start doing gyros for cheaper to bring some business in - great staff and lovely place but i’m glad we went through First Table so got 50% off the food.
Pre theatre dinner early due to train times. Been here twice before reliable standard Anglo Greek restaurant. Not that little secrete taverna but open early doors till late. Humus good but a bit of cummin more than you may be used too. Greek salad a bit mean on black olives as only three in the plate but good stuffed olive leaves. Sardines large so more bones but nicely cooked. Meat balls ok Greek salad unusual as peppers and capers not a lot of orengano or lemon not sure why, most expensive wine at £40 (Malagouzia) a bottle a bit disappointed as thick and tart but cheaper bottle at £38 much better lighter clear and clean (Askitikos) enjoyed. Helpful team and nice comfortable atmosphere. Worth a stop before hippodrome
Went last night for a pre theatre meal. Disappointed that we could only have the theatre menu, however, food was good. Starters were good but the Dolmades were so sour (surrounded with lemon) so didn't eat them. Moussaka was lovely and so were the halloumi skewers. Overall, a good experience with good service. Would return. Thank you.
Greek afternoon brunch with cocktails #saynomore - soulvaki and calamari was good, though feta fries needed more feta. Feta in filo douse in honey...acquired taste but was edible DJ needed new material but only added to the atmosphere
The food was good — I ordered the mixed grill for two people. The only thing I was missing was some grilled vegetables with it, like peppers, onions, or maybe eggplant. But I still recommend this place.
We were table number 6- came in at 7pm on 29/12/25. Thank you to the chef for the lovely prepared dishes. We all loved all our dish with all the different aromas that we got to try between the 4 of us. The thing that we would have appreciated a bit more attention on was the level of service provided, especially when the resturant wasn’t busy. Although the female server was polite and smiley there was lack of attention to our order and things we asked. When we put the order through she had to come over to check because she hadn’t written it down correct. Then we had we had to ask for the water twice. And when we asked for the bill we had to ask for it twice as the female waitress forgot. We hope that some of this feedback will help to improve on the overall experience.
Went for my friends birthday dinner and atmosphere was lovely. Starters were nice as well as drinks but mains were not as good! Waitresses were lovely but manager could have done better when I came to complaints about food. My main course (chicken souvlaki) was appetising and when cut in it was pink and i stopped eating it which was disappointing.Rice was nice and aromatic as well as sauce and salad. Ended the night with free shots and dessert which was nice.
This is a fairly nice spot on the edge of Birmingham and the bull ring. It was busy on a Saturday lunchtime, but not rammed or loud, which was ideal for wanting to be away from too much hustle and bustle. The menu was interesting with lots of nice looking options. I went with a pasta dish with mince and bechamel, it wasn’t very hot and I did worry that it wasn’t freshly made but I can’t confirm either way.
It was my birthday on the 29th of June and we looked forward for the greek meal as we are greek!! We ordered mixed grill for 2. We been told there is no sausage and it will be replaced with haloumi! The mixed grill came and was hardly any meat on it. I ll say possibly enough meat for one person. They were 2 very thin lamp cutlets , 2 kebabs and 4 bites of chicken. All the rest on the top it’s the mushroom! We were very disappointed. First time in my life i had a mixed grilled and still starving. I believe it’s common sense if you have not got sausages you replace them with meat not with cheese. We went after next door to gyros and have a lovely gyros to fill up.
Not too sure about the hype of this place. The decor is gorgeous, the chicken is juicy and the drinks are delicious. However, the spinach pie, tzatziki, desserts.. and majority of the other dishes were totally average - especially for how expensive the place is.
Small portions, overpriced food. 3 pieces of lamb cutltets (see photo) cost £25 - this is outrageous. The mains, including the mixed grill, have more sides than meat. The music is also random, moving from house to traditional greek. Very disappointed, don't recommend.
Very beautiful decor and appears authentic. Starters came quick and were average at best. The calamari was very disappointing and dry which lacked flavour. Mains took approximately 1.5 hours to arrive after the starters. Staff seemed avoidant and incompetent. 1 member of staff accidentally poured a drink over a fellow customer. The gentleman in the blazer, presumably the manager seemed overstretched and at times appeared mad almost aggressive at other staff members. When the mains finally came, we were too tired to eat but endeavoured to get through the bland lamb and sandy rice just to make our stomachs full. Undeniably a waste of time and money. Beer wasn’t too bad though!
If I have to rate the latest overall experience I might give them less than one star, but Google doesn't give me the option to give them less than one. The staff is friendly, the place is crowded, very narrow spaces between the chairs and people are constantly hitting or touching you. The food is not exceeding with anything, it is quite average. We paid £40 for 2 dishes that we didn't finish due to the lack of flavour. Also, they automatically included service charge, not nice, I would rsther give them more than that if the food and the service was good, but when you get bad food, paying service charge is like they try to rob you.. The chairs are very uncomfortable, they are worn out and instead to sit comfortable on a flat surface, you end up sitting on the frame of the chair.
I visit here once a year whilst staying in the area with a friend. I was quite surprised by the attitude of one of the waitresses who was rude to me when I asked her a question just to clarify an ingredient. Usually the staff are very polite and professional.
