This is an excellent place to go for that extra special meal / night . Its a little bit more expensive than your beefeater and harvester type food places but it is so worth it . Really nice food and and an absolutely lovely dining area , if I'm honest I don't go thete as often as I should . Had 2 starters and 2 mains , a pint of coke and 3 Moretti lagers for just over £80 ,worth every penny .
Myself and My Dad Have The Sunday Roast Dinners Here a Lot and They Are Always Amazing and We Come Here Most Saturday Evenings As I Love The Moretti Beer The Staff Are Always Very Friendly and Make Us Feel Very Welcome We Love This Pub It’s The Best Around xxxxx
Quicky becoming my favorite restaurant, the steak is to die for highly recommend. Lovely friendly waitresses and really nice atmosphere
We have had Sunday set 3 course lunch and all was to my liking, proportion were not small either. This was one of my favourite meals. We will definitely go back
Lovely atmosphere we sat in the conservatory part of the pub and it was bar service. Food was absolutely amazing we tried the soup, calamari, garlic bread and the croquettes. I had the calamari and honestly it was beautiful it was nice thin and crispy but very flavourful. Although it’s the most expensive one the menu the beef brisket was the best I’ve ever had the beef was so soft and the parsnip puree complimented it perfectly. Judy the waitress had an amazing personality and nothing seemed too much for her. All the waitresses in the pub and the manager all seemed happy and worked very hard. Food was served very quick as well I was very impressed.
My husband and i came here for a fabulous meal . The hostess was amazing her name was kerry she was very knowledgeable and welcoming . We will be back soon . The steaks was amazimg yummy . We had drinks . Starters and mains plus Also a dessert which was all eaten . Looking forward upon returning
What a find ! The outdoor dining area is lovely. The garden is well maintained and has a play area for children. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Great menu choice and very reasonable prices. My daughter ordered the tofu rice bowl which was amazing. I had a pizza which was very nice and freshly made, not a pre-made base. Highly recommended. My only comment to the management would be to add some shade when you eat outside. We had to move inside.
Went here to break our journey to Oxford, they allowed us to stay free overnight in the car park in our motorhome. The meal was faultless and good value for money, in beautiful surroundings. We'll worth the visit.
Fantastic three course Sunday lunch. Can't fault this place, everything 10/10.
The food was fabulous as always. My only comment would be that the 3 desserts on offer with the Sunday lunch were all hot, and it would have been nice on a hot day like today to have had a summer cold option. Apart from that, it was fantastic 👏
Really nice place, massive beer garden which is really lovely. Food is always amazing.

Amazing food as always. My only complaint about this place is the carpark. Ever since I started going it's always had potholes. Very hard to navigate around them at present especially as I'm on crutches.
Great 2 course Sunday lunch, the beef was wonderful and very generous portions, to much for us, the coffee creme brulee lovely. We both had 2 couses plus we had large glass of wine and a pint and half of Peroni £52
Great place for food, lovely waitress who recommended the braised beef which me and my partner both had and we were not disappointed at all it was absolutely mouthwatering this place is over an hour from us but it was so lovely that we will definitely return 👍
The food was amazing, I was there meeting someone very special to me for the first time, I'd explained this to them and asked if we could have a table tucked away a bit, it was the perfect corner, they had to kick us out at 11-30 pm. they could have shut up and gone home at 10-30 but they stayed open for us. Couldn't fault the food and the staff were really good.
Amazing roast. Great service. Always busy on a Sunday so must book a table to be in the restaurant. 3 course Sunday lunch for £20
Nice vibes with very tasty food. Lots of beef in the beef burger, feel like im going to be full for days 😹💪
Beautiful food with lovely staff and great service will 100% be visiting again
first class meal the pate is made by the gods a must try main meal fantastic and a starter 3 courses £ 22
I absolutely love this place. first time going last week and it didn't disappoint. Staff are mostly young but are very good at what they do, polite and friendly. food was amazing and reasonably priced. family friendly and decor is lovely. give it a try im glad I did.
Fantastic family meal on boxing day. Food was delicious & Hot, our waitress Ella was outstanding.. on the ball, polite, attentive and smiling the The whole time. A lovely way to spend boxing day xx
I was in the area after visiting Becketts farm and this was the first place that came up when searching for food. You will not be disappointed. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. Decor is lovely and so is the garden. Food was 10/10 and service, i will be visiting again and can’t recommend it enough.
We were on the way home from holiday and needed a meal - always unknown if it'll be enjoyable. But we were so glad we stopped here, the food was superb, the slow braised beef and lasagne were both perfectly cooked and presented, and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, well kept and comfortable surroundings , and parking is very easy on site. We really recommend this place to anyone for quality food, lovely decor, and excellent service. We hope to go again. Thank you to all the lovely waitresses.
Great food, lovely staff and good service. Pleasant atmosphere. Visited before and will definitely be back 😁
The vegan pizza was great! One of the best vegan pizzas I've had. Would definitely return for it. The restaurant was lovely, very nice interior. The waitresses were very nice and helpful too. We had a nice area of the restaurant to ourselves as we were a party of 17. We did all have to go and order at the bar and the food came out in batches, so some of us had finished by the time others got their meal, but it wasn't a huge deal as we were all chatting away anyway. Overall, one of the best restaurants in the area I think.
A lovely pub, great for food, a great selection of drinks too. Very clean and a lovely atmosphere for couples, groups and families.
Whilst there were a lot of young serving staff...they were absolutely great!! We were seated promptly & just the right amount of customer contact throughout our drinks/meal. The place was buzzing and the garden out back looked lovely. Brilliant food, what a lovely place to have a Sunday roast lunch. The staff & food (shout out to the team in the kitchen) were a credit to the Rose and Crown management and owners!
We went for Mother's day. Great fixed price menu. Plenty of options and the food was delicious. A bit pricey but worth it. Only complaint was that the food came out very quickly. There was no relaxation between courses We only had table for 2 hours which we knew when we booked but we were all done in an hour and a half. Would definitely eat there again on a normal day.
We went here for my sister's birthday and I have to say the food was outstanding. They clearly have some talented chefs here! The steak was superb, possibly the best steak I've ever had (better than the one I had at Gordon Ramsay in London even) Will definitely go back, worth every penny.
I booked my husbands 70th birthday meal at the Rose & Crown. They reserved a section of the pub for 25 of us. I cannot fault the service. From start to finish, all the staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they are so friendly. I cannot fault the food, it was delicious, with every person enjoying their meal. Thank you to the Rose and Crown.
A spacious, friendly pub with good access and parking. Great food too. Staff are helpful and kind.
We met up with stepson and his partner here today and what a fabulous experience we had the staff were so friendly the atmosphere and decor was also so nice and the food was amazing well presented will definately return
Had grandsons 21st Birthday Meal. Meal was great very nice and good portion size. Staff very friendly and cheerful nothing was to much trouble. Good atmosphere would recommend
Amazing Sunday lunch, beef and chicken were both perfect. Friendly and super quick service. It was a bit too loud in the restaurant, may have just been the case on on the day, but other than that it was perfect.
Really nice Sunday lunch! Especially for a busy Sunday afternoon with a table of 4, the service was amazing! Evie being our server, came over with lovely energy and was really helpful, made a great meal even better! Would definitely come back.
First time here the food was good fillet steak was cooked to perfection only thing was it’s not worth the money staff very friendly clean and tidy pub tho
Absolutely delicious food, compliments to the chef. We discovered Rose and Crown after moving to the area in June and have tried to find the best eatery in our local area. We have a winner - the Rose and Crown is easily the best. Consistently delicious food, the staff are attentive and we are always spoilt for choice when confronted with the menu!
Food was brilliant , my cheese board was enormous . Friends fish was very large and beauifully white .
The booking up of a table was easy to do online. On entering the staff members was polite to show us the menu and table but a bit slow on receiving us from the entry section towards the dining section. The meal was tasty and great value for money, but again took near 45 minutes to arrive, yet only me and another table was there. And no one came up to see how we was for drinks whilst waiting Drinks was good. In terms of selection and was ice cool.
Rock in’ Rose! Wonderful newly refurbished pub/restaurant. Loads of space, beautifully furnished, very clean. Large amount of parking. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. Had a really tasty fish tacos starter to start. 2 large soft tacos. For mains we both had fish ‘n’ chips. Very large and perfectly cooked fish with a large portion of perfectly cooked ‘skin on fries’. Came with home made tartar and fresh mushy peas! This place is brilliant!
Another pub worth a vist. We didn't eat but the food looked good. A warm and welcoming place and the staff very friendly.
Had a great Sunday meal. We went for the set menu. Very enjoyable. Kate served us. She was very helpful, friendly and professional.
Fancied a Sunday Roast so we decided to give the Rose & Crown a go, we have eaten there previously but never on a Sunday so off we went and it's fair to say that we were happy with what we had and would definitely go back for a Sunday meal. The food was lovely, quite deceiving really because when it came you look at it and think that you could do with a bit more, but once you start you soon realise that there's plenty on the plate, so much that our initial thought was to have a dessert but once we finished we didn't need anything else. The service was good, friendly and very helpful. So if you fancy a nice Sunday roast then give it go, you'll enjoy it
Food reasonable but nothing special. Overpriced for what you get. Nice venue although service was slow and substandard. Decent pub for a drink but I wouldn’t be rushing back for the food.
We had not been for years but we were recommended to try it once again by friends. The menu was small which isn’t a bad thing and prices perhaps just a little higher than the local average for similar outlets. The prawn starters were excellent and good value for £8.95 … My wife’s salmon main was excellent but unfortunately my own Lasania choice was very poor … dry, lacking in filling and unacceptable. It was changed for the fastest option which was fish and chips ( evenings are spoilt when food is returned) Unfortunately, the fish and chips were rather disappointing too so overall it was not a good return. Certainly below expectations for the £40 per head we paid With so many other nearby outlets offering good food, at similar pricing levels I think my ratings are fair, even perhaps a little generous.
Little disappointed. My family treated me for my birthday. I ordered pork lion. Most disappointing, dry and luke warm, didn't feel freshly cooked! Roast pots were OK, hot and too well done. We asked for water "for the table" which was just plonked on the nearest spot to where server could see, with the glasses topped on one another. Not good! Consequently very little room for vegetables etc. No one checked to see if we were happy with food. Was disappointed with set menu too. This is not notified on website. One choice for vegetarian. Also no nonalcoholic drinks. Will not be returning.
Staff were friendly. Food was a good quality very small portions. Expensive for what it was
Either the young waiter was having a bad day or had had no training how to make customers welcome. Drinks just plonked on the table and sort out which is yours. The two of us ordered fish and chips. I had the curry source. When it arrived a thin piece of fish was on top of french fries and some thin brown liquid, presumably the curry. My wife had the tartar sauce which was nice. Had to call the water back to ask for some vinegar. All this was on top of some paper which stuck to the french fries that were 50% ends. A member of staff did come and ask if everything was okay but had gone before I could comment. At the end of the meal I did point out the quality of the meal to the person who appeared in charge but her reply was 'oh' and walked off. Usually we have a pudding but at £9.95p including 3 scoops of ice cream was ridiculous.
We booked a table for last night at 8pm and arrived on time to sit at a nice 4 seater table and our drinks order was taken. We then had another couple sit on the table next to us and there food and drinks order was taken. We then were sat there half an hour later with the menus still in front of us and the table next to us had received there mains. We finally ordered our food just after half 8 and our starters came quickly and our mains shortly after, nobody came and asked if the food was ok or if we required anything else and when we had finished our mains sat at the table with our finished plates for around 20 minutes before being collected. If the service had been better we would have ordered more drinks and also dessert, however instead we left unimpressed due to the service.
