★★★★★ We’ve just enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Day evening at Bank in Birmingham and I felt compelled to leave a review. From the moment we walked in, the reception was first class. A genuinely warm welcome on what was a very cold evening, and the restaurant itself was beautifully warm and inviting – something I always notice at this time of year. The seating area is elegant and comfortable, with lovely views overlooking Birmingham’s canals, which really adds to the atmosphere. The food was outstanding. I had the Korean chicken, which was superb – full of flavour and perfectly cooked. My wife chose the tempura king prawns to start, followed by tuna and the most incredible seabass with a ginger sauce for her main course. Every dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better. After dinner we were able to sit back, relax and enjoy a couple of excellent cocktails, which rounded the evening off perfectly. However, what truly made the evening special was the service. Victoria looked after us and was exceptional throughout – attentive, professional and genuinely welcoming without ever being overbearing. Service like that makes all the difference. If you’re looking for a truly exceptional venue in the heart of Birmingham, I would highly recommend Bank. And if you’re fortunate enough to be served by Victoria, you’re in very good hands indeed.

My husband and I had the most unforgettable experience at Bank Birmingham, and it was all thanks to our incredible waitress, Renee. From the moment we sat down, Renee went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. She walked us through all the different steak options with so much knowledge and enthusiasm. She didn’t just list them — she explained the cuts, the flavors, the textures, and even recommended which one she thought would suit our tastes best. Her recommendation was absolutely perfect, and you could tell she genuinely wanted us to have the best meal possible. But what truly made the evening magical was that this wasn’t just any dinner — it was my proposal. Renee somehow made an already emotional and beautiful moment even more special. She was attentive without ever being intrusive, perfectly timing everything and creating such a warm, celebratory atmosphere. She made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine excitement for us meant so much. She helped create a memory that my husband and I will cherish forever. When we think back on our proposal, Renee will absolutely be part of that story. Thank you, Renee, for making our night flawless, meaningful, and truly amazing. And thank you to Bank Birmingham for having such a wonderful person on your team. We cannot wait to come back and celebrate many more milestones there.

What a great experience! I was a little uncertain given the odd review mentioning service problems with smaller groups. We were a table of 4 . My fears were quickly dispelled by a really good and well organised front of house team. We particularly liked Victoria’s attentive and charismatic charm throughout the evening. This was our first visit to Bank and we’re delighted with the menu. Really good starters in fact they were exceptional. Fish was tasty and beautifully cooked. We all enjoyed the cocktails and the setting over the canal was lovely. Personally I do think the meals are good value give the quality of the produce the presentation and location. We will have to return if we are in the area again but will have to try the other restaurants within the chain when possible. Thanks to the team for lovely evening. If I could give the service more than 5 stars I would. My husband and I came here on valentines day as we have done for the past few years, it was by far busier than I have seen it, however that did not deter Renée. The entire night she was kind and personable, she definitely made our night very special. There was a wait on food, which is to be expected on such a busy night, but she made sure we were happy whenever possible. The food was great as always!

Wonderful service, food and atmosphere, at the Bank Brindley Place Renee is a Wonderful host, very down to earth, beautiful personality, extremely accommodating and such an asset to the company. I will return and hope for her to be our hostess/waitress again. Wonderful lady.

Bank was a firm favourite of ours but we haven’t been for years after moving away. It hasn’t changed - the food, the service, the music and the atmosphere - are all just as fantastic as it always was. That’s before I mention Alam who’s as characterful as he is friendly, and provides wonderful service. Highly recommended!

We had a relaxed Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with just the right balance of elegance and comfort. Sitting by the river view makes the whole experience feel peaceful and refreshing, a true escape from the bustle of the week. A special mention goes to Anj, the hostess, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She was attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful—her thoughtful touches made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Came a few weeks ago for a friend birthday. We completely missread our booking time so was several hours early. Reception lady Holly sorted us out and ensured we still had a great time. I offered her a tip for sorting out big group out with no issues however she declined and offered to give it to one of the children in the party!!! Very kind staff. Also Alam was our waiter and he was amazing and so chatty and funny. He made our experience great. Will be back!!!!

I’ve come here many times before and always have great service - should’ve left reviews for those times so making sure I leave this for my recent visit on Saturday! The friend I was coming with is actually moving back to Australia so I wanted to sit out on the terrace (left a note on the booking) and the lady who greeted us was really helpful, she got us sat at the bar while we waited as it was full (not surprising as the sun was out) and then came to grab us within 10 minutes as she didn’t want us to miss the space - thank you! Our server on the terrace was Renee, she was a whole vibe! Absolutely loved her, it was honestly like talking to a friend from start to finish. I know that is part of her job, but it wasn’t like being served normally - it was like being out with the girls, but she was still professional of course! We didn’t wait too long for anything, and when one of the drinks did take a little longer she came over and let us know which was nice. Her section was very busy but she still made us feel like a priority! I honestly love people like this - just friendly, funny, and know how to have a laugh! Thank you for making my friends only experience so lovely, and I’ll of course be back soon! (THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT BTW!)

Renee provided absolutely brilliant customer service from start to finish. She was so friendly, attentive and genuinely went above and beyond to make the whole experience special. It was for a birthday and she really helped make the day feel extra memorable with her kindness and positive energy. Nothing felt like too much trouble and she made us feel completely looked after. We visited for a relaxing lunch, ordered from the 26 menu. Portions were huge and worth the money. The lady who served us was great, very friendly end accommodating as we had a ten week old baby with us. We were sat by the canal which was lovely, perfect afternoon.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience, and we’d especially like to praise our servers Alam and Victoria. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. We were dining with a toddler, and they made us feel completely comfortable and never once awkward or out of place. This truly means a lot to parents! Their kindness, patience, and genuine hospitality made our visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. On top of the amazing service, the food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the meal itself was outstanding. Thank you for such a lovely experience we will definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing evening hosting our first ever Sector Supplier Awards at Bank. Everything was amazing from the planning to the night!

Elegant and cozy restaurant with plenty of seating. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and accommodating, which made our visit really enjoyable. We ordered the 26 Collection steak, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it was juicy and full of flavor. It came with fries, and mushroom with tomato, and green beans with pistachio butter, which were surprisingly good. I couldn’t even finish the steak because I was already so full. For starters, the fried chilli squid was soft, well-seasoned, and not dry at all. The truffle and leek croquettes were creamy, rich, and absolutely melted in the mouth. We also ordered from the kids’ menu , fish and chips followed by vanilla ice cream. My little one enjoyed it very much, it was his first time tasting ice cream. Special thanks to Victoria, who was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The restaurant also gave a small cake for my child’s 1st birthday lunch celebration, which we truly appreciated 🤍 Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be back!

The restaurant has an excellent environment — clean, cozy, and very welcoming. The staffs provided great service throughout the meal, especially Anj, she’s always attentive and friendly. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I’d be happy to recommend!

Great place and top food but you do pay for it. Service was great. All round impressive.

Me and the wife shared the Sunday Sharer Platter which came with two meats (we chose chicken and beef) and it also came with cauliflower cheese & roasted carrots and parsnips. Also included was two sharer deserts and we went with the sticky toffee pudding and raspberry cheesecake. The service was great and staff were always on hand if needed. Family friendly, with a nice atmosphere. For what we got it was a great price and will definitely be coming again!

Renée was our host for the night and she was absolutely amazing! She served us our first time at bank for a Sunday roast and her service has never dropped in standard. Very bubbly and friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend her to my other friends and I hope that other staff can take after her friendly attitude and approach. Janice was also helping to host us and made sure our mains were don’t correctly and kept us updated on our food and drinks when waiting! Amazing service.

Came down to Bank today evening and the food was seriously good. Everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they put real care into what they make. Service was quick, and everyone seemed happy. Overall, it was just a really enjoyable meal from start to finish. I’d definitely be coming back. Just want to give a big shout to Renee for looking after us, she was amazing and deffo deserves a raise!!!

Had a lovely experience at Bank in Birmingham last night for our work Christmas party! The food was absolutely delicious with really generous portions. The atmosphere was fantastic and made for such a great evening. A special mention to our waiters, Victoria and Angel, who were amazing and so attentive throughout the night. They really made our experience extra special. Would definitely recommend!

Food is delicious here and the ambience is so nice and classy. I recommend to come here with your family or as a couple or with friends! Our waiter Alam made the experience particularly special! I will definitely come back. If you’re looking for fancy but a reasonably priced restaurant then Bank Birmingham is the place to go.

Celebrated my sisters 30th birthday here yesterday. We opted for the bottomless brunch for a table of 10. Angelica was so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed from helping untangle our balloons, allowing us to wait for the last people to arrive, assisting with the “surprise” and helping with the cake. Angelica really made our night great! Some other staff were not so helpful.

We had an amazing experience. As soon as we sat down we were greeted be our server, Reneé’s welcoming and bubbly energy. She sadly informed us that there was no more peri peri chicken but was instantly able to offer me suggestions on what’s good on the menu. Reneé’s friendly manner made our evening.

We arrived without a reservation and the Front of House Hostesses were very, very friendly, greeting is with smiles and quickly found us a table. I had the Salmon which I have to say was the best Salmon dish I have ever tasted, literally melted in my mouth and everyone else had a steak which they all said was one of the best they had ever tasted. Caroline served us and was extremely friendly and efficient. So well done Bank for serving beautiful food and have extra lovely staff on duty last night...15.10.25.

We were served by Alam who ensured we got the best experience. Nothing was too much trouble, the service was exceptional and the food excellent. I am particularly fussy when it comes to my coffee and despite a complicated order my cappuccino was perfect. I would highly recommend. A great, relaxed dining experience - which was down to our waiter - he was great!

We had the loveliest meal for my sisters birthday! Renée was absolutely amazing - she was a vibe and so bubbly and friendly - we were made to feel at home straight away. Just had Sunday lunch here with a party of 12 with ages ranging from 3 to 81 years! We were celebrating 3 birthdays. We had all ordered the Sunday lunch and even though I have been before it was still the best Sunday roast in a restaurant I’ve ever had. The food was hot and plentiful and we all had desserts even though we didn’t really have room for them. Our gorgeous server Renee was amazing! She was funny, kind and very attentive and completely professional. In fact all the staff were incredible and made our visit so worthwhile. I had bought a cake for the birthdays which they brought to the table and sang along with us. The restaurant has a lovely vibe even when busy you can still hear each other and the atmosphere once the lights come on make it even more lovely. We all left very happy and full and said we would definitely come back again. Thank you to all the staff for making my family’s birthdays so memorable. Big shout out to Renee! She was brilliant! Cannot wait to go again! Just a shame we live so far away!

Bank was amazing! but I want to make a special shout out to our waitress Renee. Wow what an amazing person to have serving customers. She was friendly, helpful and so funny. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Susan and her colleagues took excellent care of us (70 people) they were very friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Food was delicious! You can tell the chefs take real pride in their work. spot-on! The overall vibe made the meal even more enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

This will be an account of my experience at this restaurant. To get a more complete feel of the place I suggest you look at other people’s posts of the restaurant. Service: We had an extra person join our group last minute and front desk was willing to accommodate all of us and find a free table to fit us all (I would advise making sure you book a table when you are sure of the group size). Throughout our time there, we had a dedicated person attending to our needs, doing regular check-ups on us to make sure we are okay in between orders. The restaurant was well staffed so we did not get to a point of trying to get the attention of any service person passing by. Food: I had ordered the Grain-fed Ribeye (350g) prime steak and the restaurant didn’t disappoint and served it to my liking. The food presentation was to a high level. We had enough cutlery on the table as well as salt and peppers. The table didn’t not feel cluttered, I felt like there was enough space to eat and put my belongings if I so chose. Drinks: I just ordered red-wine to compliment my steak, and I must say it tasted good, not too harsh. Overall the restaurant is on the high-end. The menu is on the pricey side but there are some meals in there that are on the lower price bracket that are also good. The restaurant is well lit, but unfortunately If you are a person who likes taking pictures in restaurants, this restaurant does not have a dedicated space for that, it is only at your table that you can do that.

Came for Valentine’s night and pre-selected the sharing menu, but they were already out of T-bones- frustrating since they should’ve allocated stock based on bookings! The alternative was lovely, but service was very slow (3 hours total). The restaurant was freezing. We had to wear our coats through the entire meal. Check your bill carefully, our £20 deposit wasn't deducted, though I did get a refund after calling the next day. The food was nice and has potential, so we’ll try again on a quieter weekday.

I have visited this restaurant many times in the past, but after around two years, I returned to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The venue itself still holds a beautiful aesthetic — elegant, stylish, and well-suited for special occasions. The ambience creates the expectation of a premium dining experience. For my meal, I chose the fillet steak with a side of fries. The dish was enjoyable and cooked well. Overall, the food was satisfactory and I cannot fault the chef, as the standard of the meal itself was good. Unfortunately, the service significantly let the experience down. The two male waiters serving my family and me were disappointing. Their tone was rude, and on more than one occasion they spoke back in a manner that felt unprofessional and unnecessarily abrupt. As someone who frequently dines at quality establishments and also runs a business, I strongly value the importance of respectful and appropriate communication with customers. Professionalism in hospitality is essential. I left genuinely disappointed and uncomfortable due to the attitude displayed by the staff. Regrettably, despite the pleasant setting and enjoyable food, this will not be a restaurant I return to — solely because of the service we received from those two members of staff.

Yesterday I visited The Bank for my friend’s birthday and, unfortunately, the experience was very mixed. When we arrived, we were informed on the spot that we had to order from a set menu. This was never mentioned at the time of booking or in any confirmation, which was disappointing as we had pre-planned our meals and were not happy with the limited selection. Our waitress, Renee, was absolutely lovely. She explained that the set menu works better for large groups as it helps prevent delays and ensures food comes out hot and on time. Once she explained this, we understood and proceeded with our order. She was polite, patient, and very understanding despite our initial confusion and disappointment. The section we were seated in was extremely busy, and Renee appeared to be the only staff member accommodating several large parties. At one point, we noticed our drinks sitting at the bar for around 15 minutes while she was attending to other customers. The bar staff saw she was clearly overwhelmed but did not assist by bringing the drinks over. By the time our Pornstar martinis arrived, they were visibly spoiled and no longer enjoyable. When I asked to speak to a manager, a gentleman in a suit came over. Unfortunately, I was met with a dismissive attitude and snarky comments rather than any real attempt to resolve the situation. Nothing was addressed, and I felt completely unheard. Throughout the rest of the evening, it felt as though the manager was avoiding our table. This made us feel uncomfortable, especially as Renee was already dealing with so much and we didn’t want to add to her workload. Some of the food also came out cold, which was disappointing and not the experience people often associate with The Bank. Toward the end of the night, we decided to take our desserts away instead of eating in, but the wrong desserts were brought out. Despite all of this, Renee remained professional, pleasant, and proactive throughout. She truly did her best in a very busy section with little visible support from the rest of the team. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the overall management and staffing on the night. When catering to large parties, it would make sense to ensure there are adequate staff members present to deliver a smooth and enjoyable experience. I would strongly suggest reviewing staffing levels during peak times and providing additional customer service training for management, as the interaction we experienced was disappointing and unprofessional. Thankfully, the birthday boy himself wasn’t upset, but the overall experience could have been much better.

Been here a few times and been nice but took my friend on Saturday and was disappointed. To say I paid £18 for a chicken ceaser salad you think they would of took there time presenting it nice and making sure everything’s great. Nope this is what I got.. a whole as end of a lettuce. Not impressed won’t be going back.

Food was nice but service was poor, I get that it’s valentine’s day but i still expected better. Our table was booked for 6.45 and it took 45 minutes for our starters to come out we ate them quickly hoping mains would soon follow but it wasn’t untill 8.40 our mains were finally brought out at this point we were starving so can’t tell whether the food was good or we were just hungry. Because of this we missed our booking at another venue which was non- refundable (not completely your fault but didn’t expect it to take 2 hours for mains to come). Was going to get dessert but just thought we’d leave at this point as didn’t want to wait another hour. I asked my server for the bill but it never came which i thought was ridiculous as it takes two seconds so asked another server, they didn’t ask us how our meal was or anything otherwise i would’ve complained there and then just gave us the receipt and card machine. For £150 spent i have received better service at a fast food restaurant.

Goodness gracious, this place has really gone downhill. There were 11 of us and we had pre-ordered our meals a week in advance, which now feels completely pointless. Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, I can genuinely say that our experience today at Bank Restaurant Bar & Grill was one of the most disorganised and poorly managed dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The service was chaotic from the moment we arrived. Our group was split across two tables (5 on one side, 6 on the other), and service was completely inconsistent between them. One shared starter arrived at the table of five almost 30 minutes before anyone had even taken our drink orders, while the table of six received nothing — not starters, not drinks, not even attention. We had to repeatedly call the waiter just to ask when our drinks and the second starter would arrive. When the second starter finally came, our drinks were only then taken — over 20 minutes later. We finished our starters and waited another 40 minutes for our mains, despite everything being pre-ordered. When we asked why the delay was so long, we were told it was because we ordered steaks — again, all of this had been pre-ordered in advance. When food eventually arrived, the waiter shouted across the table asking who had ordered what, even though our order cards were clearly placed in front of each guest. To make matters worse, my uncle — who had ordered sea bass — was given fish and chips instead. When he tried to explain, the waiter insisted he had ordered it, despite having earlier confirmed the sea bass order. Only after another staff member intervened did they apologise and correct it, with the correct dish arriving another 15 minutes later. Basic requests such as ketchup and mayonnaise took so long to arrive that most of us were already halfway through our meals by the time they appeared. Throughout the entire meal, we sat looking at each other in disbelief at how chaotic everything was, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t even busy. To top it off, while I was still eating, the waiter cleared my plate and took my cutlery, forcing me to stop mid-meal and ask for replacements. Overall, this was a frustrating, poorly managed, and disappointing experience. The food itself was average — nothing memorable or worth returning for. I’m writing this review while still seated in the restaurant, which probably says it all. Bank Birmingham seriously needs to retrain staff on the basics of customer service, organisation, and communication. We won’t be returning.
