The almanack is amazing, the food is amazing and so are the staff! There is always a warm and friendly vibe. We have visited twice now once for their Monday pizza and wine deal which was amazing value and the chef even came to chat to us about the pizza ! Great value and delicious. We have also recently been to try their Christmas set menu again amazing quality of food and for the price it is well worth the treat.

Found this restaurant whilst driving past with work, thought that looks ok, checked on the internet and booked for Sunday lunch. Had a lovely 3 course meal and had not 1 thing negative to say about it. When again the following but this time opted for the menu rather than Sunday lunch. Again a lovely meal and nothing negative to say. The staff are friendly and professional, and a shout out to Lilia, only been once before and she remembered us and also remembered that I asked for no peas, that to me shows her quality as I’m sure she had served 100’s of customers over the previous week.

We had mains and desserts from the team takeover menu and everything was absolutely delicious. Every member of staff was friendly and service was great.

I have eaten at The Almanack many times with my parents and grandfather and it has always been a pleasant experience. I love how the restaurant is dog friendly and always has a great atmosphere. However, my visit today was beyond words. We had the most incredible server, Gianluca, they were the most the animated, enthusiastic, genuine and funny person I have ever met working in a restaurant. Every time they came over, we were in absolute histerics with their charisma skills and witty comments. They were also incredible ag their job, when a side dish was forgotten they were so apologetic and used comedy to make up for it which did just the thing! We even had a lengthy coversation in intervals about college and our interests! It was the most amazing evening with, as always, great food and drinks. This server needs a raise or promotion!!!!

Light and bright interior. Great beer selection. Food was really good. Had the crazy fish special with a seabass and a cod. All was very tasty. Staff were responsive and had a personality. Random golf trip, doubt I'll be back, but if I am then I'd happily go here again

Fantastic, great service, great food. I can not recommend this place enough. A very good selection of drink and food. Service was the very best I have had any where. Not over attentive. If you are in this neck of the woods then make sure you head here. Well done and thank you all very much.

The food here was really delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice, friendly pub with great food. The only downside was not enough bread with the camembert starter. Two slices of sourdough are not enough. Other than that, I can't fault the place

Came for breakfast with my friend on Wednesday (we usually meet up once a month) we were served by Amy C and I have to say she is always the most friendliest, helpful and professional member on your team. Nothing is too much trouble and she always has a smile and a kind word for us! She’s an absolute credit to you and we always look forward to seeing her. Food was delicious as usual and super quick service as always from Amy C xx

Had a great time, the burger was amazing, the ales were local and high quality. The staff are really great as well! Great customer service and the ambience is perfect!

Went for Mothers Day. Excellent roast, and they brought round extra roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings for free. There were 2 drinks added to our bill, but removed by the manager without any fuss. Would definitely go back.

Arrived late and the staff were super helpful in organising a meal. We ordered and food arrived: it was excellent - looked up to see the chef watching us to see if we were enjoying it… very impressed! Fish and chips were excellent… thanks for a great night!

Great atmosphere with the local carnival on. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The manager, Elle, was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back!

We booked a table of 15 for a Saturday afternoon/evening for my daughter's birthday, after another venue had let us down the day before. I was really pleased they had space as we booked it with just over 24hrs notice and was told they may not have everything on the menu as it was a large booking with late notice. Well the only thing they didn't have was peas, so I think we can let them off! We often find when eating out with a large number of people, at least one person in our party has a bad experience with their food, but not this time. The food was great, came out super quick, was hot and everyone enjoyed their meal. We got there to discover we had the private room at the back of the restaurant which was brilliant. The service was great and we didn't feel as if we were forgotten about when the main restaurant got busy. We often go to the almanack for breakfast and have never had a bad experience but it will now be our first choice with family parties for the future. Thank you to the Almanack for saving our day and giving everyone a great experience.

Very nice restaurant with quick service and delicious food. Not cheap but well worth the money for the quality that you get.

Great food and coffee, the service is quick and the staff are lovely and friendly. We quite often pop in with the dogs for a coffee when we're walking them in Kenilworth but we had our first Sunday lunch in there about 6 weeks ago and we were very impressed! It was outstanding and one of the best Sunday lunches we've had for a very long time.

We booked it last minute. We told the staff we were in a rush and they had us seated and got the food out to us very quickly. The staff were all very good and went the extra mile. Food was nice. Would come again.

Super mid-week meal, making the most of the £25 pub classics. Two had the steak pie and three had the sausage a mash - all really really nice and a lovely filled pie! First time back in a while and we will be back. Thank you!

We had a lovely time at the Almanak and the staff were brilliant. We visited as a group of 26 for a work Christmas meal. We were in the private dining room which was beautifully laid out. The food was excellent and came out very promptly; mine was lovely and a number of other people commented to me how good it was, which is impressive given the size of the table. The staff deserve a special mention; both for their organisation in advance (thank you Emily) and their service on the day dealing with a myriad of requests (thank you Jacob, Skye and Jack), they were all really excellent. Thank you also to the chefs and kitchen staff! I would thoroughly recommend the Almanak after this experience.

The place was amazing we don't come often but we really enjoyed everything. If you want bigger meals, I don't recommend the pancakes or eggs benedict as they are small meals and still around £10. They served a half portion for one of the younger ones which was very kind so overall very happy with the experience.

The quality of the food is excellent! We also enjoyed the cocktails very much. It's interesting, has a wide range and some very unique. The service quality is very good however I reckon it's pretty understaffed. I only see two persons covering the big section of the restaurant I was in. It is very difficult to get their attention. When I came in and was waiting for a table to be assigned, it took about ten minutes before the waitress was able to served us. Actually, I was about to give up and walk away. But because I am an avid Google Guide and that this restaurant has a good rating, I decided wanted to wait and try out this restaurant. Turns out the food was truly excellent! I was happy at the end of the day.

We had pre -booked for a party of 12, they had asked us to confirm our dinner choices from the Sunday menu in advance. I went for the Ham and Cheese Croquettes, Beef and Ale pie, finished off with the Apple and Blackberry crumble. No problem there, perfectly understandable that they'd want to know our meal choices so they can ensure they have those dishes available. Had a nice pint of Grolsch while we waited for everyone to arrive, then were seated pretty quickly. The starter was nice, and the beef and ale pie was really nice too. The crumble may have been nice, I don't know, because they didn't have any. If the point of getting people to preorder was for the Almanack team to ensure they have everything available, sadly they missed the mark on this one. I had the Cherry Bakewell tart, it was a little bit overcooked, it was nice, but it was definitely not an apple and blackberry crumble. At the end of dinner, the server was very patient while we split the bill 12 ways and all paid individually, and the staff overall were friendly, so top marks for that.

First 🌟 place was clean and modern, took a walk in with pour réservation during the holiday period very nice of them because they are busy Second 🌟 they had plenty to choose from, I had the same Shepards 🥧 pie It was almost not edible way too salty for sure, waved to return it but couldn't be bother. The fear of the food was yummy. Some vegetarian entres. Third 🌟 nice wine and beer selection, I had mulled wine 🍷 my favorite during winter. Forth 🌟 staff were very nice, smiling and quick service. Didn't matter who you asked they were happy to accommodate, so I overlooked the Shepard pie. No fifth 🌟 as there is room for improvement. Its a nice place felt very at home and very christmassy

It was a nice local for a hot drink after a walk. Good ambiente and hot chocolate was good. Good and friendly service. The brownie was a little bit burnt but the crumble was great.

Family of two Adults and a 12 year old in for sunday dinner, the food was ok but wether or not it was as good as I'd expect for the cost. £24 for a lamb roast dinner ? I would expect it to be a little more memorable, it was ok but not extraordinary. My wife had belly pork which she really enjoyed and our daughter had fish & chips from the childs menu. The £15 cheese board was a bit of a slap in the face as well 5 tiny peices of dry naff cheese . 15 quid ? Wouldnt rush back to be honest . Waitress was very pleasant .

Staff is good and ambiance is good but the food was just ok. I ordered the sea bream and it came with a load of daal whihc I am sure I can cook better at home. The price you pay for the serving could get you far better options in Kenilworth from the Harrington on Hill to the Thai restaurnats in town and Ego for that matter. It's a good place if you wana have cocktails and hang around with friends in a larger space. I asked to change my drink and they came back when I am done

Not one to pop up a negative review as I know it must be so difficult for a restaurant to get it right every time but was so disappointed with tonights meal. Went with my wife and step daughter for a birthday celebration which we mentioned when booking. Unfortunately our starter of garlic ciabatta was part frozen and had to be sent back, the replacement was completely overdone. The mains particularly the steak were excellent. Really nice environment to dine in. Was disappointed not to have the bill reduced because of the starter. Overall was underwhelmed but judging by the excellent reviews maybe it was just one of those nights. *Update: I contacted the restaurant after they replied to my review. I heard absolutely nothing back. Poor service.

Female toilets are disgusting, they need deep cleaning, toilets need bleach, very smelly. The toilets are still very smelly and skirting boards and floors are dirty.

Ordered a rib eye steak here, I was very disappointed, the steak was seasoned before, like very cheap material in supermarket. I asked for a medium cooked, but it was very well done! And it 26 pounds! This price deserves much better quality.... other dishes i didn’t try, but lose confident of this restaurant!

We previously would visit The Almanack often but have since moved further away so had not been for awhile. We were quite shocked how different it was from previous experiences. The food portions were small and pricey and really not great. Chewy rump at £23, peppercorn sauce £2.75 as an added extra and no veg (except a pinch of rocket). No mushroom, grilled tomato. Ordered green salad on the side £4.75 so that meal was £30.50! Would have been acceptable if the steak was delicious, juicy and tender but it wasn't. Glass of wine wine £11.60. The Alamanack used to be a thriving hub of happy diners but when we visited, there was no real ambience and it was pretty empty. Not surprising, I guess, if they are no longer providing a good experience. Really quite saddening such a great place reduced to what seems to be the waiting room to closure. It is important to say that the staff were all absolutely lovely. Really disappointing....

Booked a table for 6 for my birthday last night! It was chaos & too busy (probably walk-in due to fireworks night)! Waited half an hour for our drinks and a further hour for food! Ordered game pie, £26.50 looked more like burnt cottage pie heated in microwave! My friend ordered the Arbury burger, this came with pickle and girkin, no actual meat! (Shame I didn’t take the pic). Food was cold and service was terrible! First time visiting here & last! We didn’t pay for anything, and ended up next door at the curry house which was excellent 👌🏽

It’s been a while since our last visit to The Almanack and that wasn't good when we ordered food. Today, I popped in after walking the dog, for a cup of coffee, toast and an egg sandwich. The coffee was good, served quickly. The accompanying smarties, a welcome little treat and nice touch. Unfortunately, after 25 minutes of waiting, many glances to try and catch the eye of any staff member, me and my doggy friend were still waitinging for the toast, for him, and my sandwich. There were three other tables occupied. It was not busy. It’s great to have a place that welcomes mans best friend, but please, can you improve the service? We left after my dog became bored and started to be a bit vocal. After all, I didn't want to disturb the other 9 people in there. Its a lovely venue, but once again, let us down when ordering food. And when I say food, I mean toast. The bar staff kindly refunded the food. Thank you.

Went here for our works party. We were given a room off the main eating area which was like the moon - no atmosphere! No Christmas music playing just random stuff. Cheapest crackers money could buy. Considering we pre ordered in advance I was surprised when one starter was missing causing an embarrassing 20 minute wait for it to appear. The toast was cremated and the Brie looked like it had been under the hot lamp for an hour. Starters out the way the mains arrived. I had another cremated offering of overdone Sea Bass which was curling up at the sides and some potato thing which was not the seasoned Thai offering that I had hoped for. Onion rings followed the theme of being torched to death. Two young lads serving were polite but the chefs need to go back to catering college! Didn’t bother to wait for the afters.

This place has plummeted. Awful rude service. We used to be frequent guests for Sunday lunch, midweek dinners and celebrations. The manager was one of the worse managers in customer care I’ve ever encountered last night. (We’ve seen a few change and Jonathan was the very best but I’m talking 10 years ago now). Will not be coming back. Put a smile on your face and be more pleasant to your customers please and you will keep them.

4 of us had a brunch here re Sunday. Unfortunately it didn't have a great ending ! 😕. I ordered mushrooms on the side for my brunch 🤔. That didn't happen 😕. They came on my sausage bap not separate re all 3 of them. My partner ordered extra syrup on their pancakes, that didn't happen. The other couple with us ordered extra blueberries, that didn't happen 😕. Her partner ordered a full breakfast with poached eggs. That came on his plate with fried eggs. So that's the food bit 😡😡😡😡. Nobody came around to ask if everything was ok food wise or did we want anymore extra drinks ??? Plus we waited to have our table cleared away while we wound down and would of ordered more drinks.... The bill came to nearly £58 .....Plus the staff were not to far away looking at the mobile phones and chatting.... Not a great example to tempt us back again ????.

Just had mothers day meal Served starter - no cutlery or napkins had to find our own Dinner came out again no cutlery had to find our own, no one came to ask how our food was, it looked nice but was cold, was going to order a desert but sat there 40 mins with our dinner plates still in front of us. My husband asked for the bill then 10 mins later the guy asked again" what was it you were after" THE BILL Awful service, I don't like to leave negative reviews but what a waste of £210 had nicer at the Claremont Arms for half the price.

We dined for breakfast yesterday to celebrate Mothers Day and although the staff were welcoming and friendly, the food and drinks were disappointing. At £14.50 for a full english, it's more expensive than a corner cafe so had high hopes! The sausages were too peppery, personal preference I know, but why not a traditional cumberland. No runny yolk. A full english is simple and greasy...it's almost like the chefs are trying to be too fancy when it should be basic. The lattes were luke warm when members of my family requested extra hot.

£4.30 for a Diet Coke is absolutely absurd. Further down the high street the same drink cost me £1.95.

Iv lived in Kenilworth 7 years but have never been in here for food. Last night as everyone was in spoons we decided to give it a go with our dogs as it looked quite empty for a change. I did try to book on their website but it took ages and wouldn’t load up. 1/2 drinks we wanted had run out, we ended up with a dissarano and coke and a pint of coke but the coke tasted awful so it wasn’t drank. both the main dishes we wanted were also unavailable. Very disappointing.

S

Walked in and turned right back round and walked out again. Disgusting and filthy. Every table had dirty glasses on them and the place was empty. Staff at the bar just chatting away not giving a monkeys. Seen cleaner service station trucker toilets.

I must say a poor showing today from the Almanack. Guinness was off tap, understandable... However the food was terrible and half the menu unavailable on not a busy day. The roasts unseasoned, plates were cleared and meals finished by the time the others came. Raw cauliflower in the Cauliflower cheese and terrible lumpy custard on a clearly microwaved dessert. I had to ask a member of staff to follow up on my friends meal as it took so long... Absolutely poor showing and shan't be eating here again

Very poor customer service experience, we arrived with our toddler, and they took a while to seat us at the table. They then took a further 15 minutes to see if we wanted anything (not even offered drinks). The table also hadn’t been cleaned. At this point, I asked if we could be served. She came to take our order and realised she had given us the wrong menus (brunch not lunch) so we couldn’t order from them. She then took a further 5 mins to find the right menus, eventually brought them over, still didn’t ask us about drinks. After a further 5-10 mins of waiting, and by this point a crying toddler, we told them the service wasn’t quick or good enough and we were leaving. My husband explained I’m 8 months pregnant and to not even be offered a drink within 30 minutes of being there was very poor. They apologised and said they were short staffed. One small positive - we left our toddlers drink cup there and one of the servers did run after us to give it back, which was appreciated.
