Nice atmosphere, solid service, great food! BJ’s doesn’t ever really disappoint with such a broad menu. Always a fave spot to catch up with a good friend and not feel rushed out of the joint so they can turn the table and make more money. That is what made the visit great!
Take the burgers (massive, good value, great brewery style) and calamari (surprisingly good, well seasoned), leave the avocado egg rolls (warm avocado is a thumbs down). Thanks to our server who was professional and chill, pushed it into the 5 star rating. Think about a good, middle of the road, American franchise eatery. Like an upper class Applebee's, or a mid-tier Chili's, something in that ball park. Now make the food 20% more tasty, the atmosphere 20% classier, and your bill 20% more painful. Congratulations, you're at BJ's Brewhouse, complete with solid draft options, some dishes that punch well above their weight, some dishes that are not worth the plating they're on, and weekly deals that can make it worth going to if you plan accordingly.
Consistently good food and service. Well kept dining area. Attentive staff. Great food and menu selection. Large portions with great taste. Have yet to go wrong with anything here. Always a safe bet when looking for lunch or dinner out.
Went to this BJ’s for the first time to try to catch the Indiana football game. Not only did they have the game and plenty of TV’s to watch it on, but they also happened to have great food and better service. Jaiden took care of us, and was incredible! He recommended the spicy pig pizza, which was fire. He also made some awesome beer suggestions, and had me trying things I might have never known I would enjoy. The other team members we interacted with, as well as one manager, were all very pleasant as well. We were originally going to bdubs, but couldn’t get seated after waiting for over 20 minutes just to get greeted. BJ’s greeted us immediately, and we were able to get a spot super fast. I don’t think we will be going back to bdubs for the games again, it’s BJ’s going forward!
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at BJ's Restaurant! They went above and beyond to seat us in a quiet area, making it perfect for my 94-year-old grandpa to enjoy our family dinner. Their thoughtfulness made our evening memorable, and we truly appreciate the extra care. Great food, fantastic service. 👍🏽
Food was delicious and atmosphere was delightful our server was Victoria she was really busy bartending and serving customers but I think was doing better than everyone else, my ribeye steak was melt in your mouth goodness and the cream cheese avocado rolls where the BOMB loved them
Awesome desserts. My friends and I tried the premium ones and they were delicious. The staff was also very kind and generous. Do try the Macadamia nuts pizookie and Triple Chocolate pizookie.
Good location, good food and okay service. Reasonable price for gathering dining.
We are just finishing a very wonderful - as always - a TGIF here at BJ Brewhouse, Bloomington, IN. This is one of our absolute favorite. That we’ve been coming here for 7 years consistently is proof. We find the food always well cooked and presented quite attractively. The ambiance is wonderful and conducive for a week deserved Friday treat. And the service is impeccable. Kudos to the whole crew and of course the friendly and ever available Managers. Shout out to Hannah!! Thank you all for giving us a place to unwind.
Went on Valentine's day. Although they said I didn't have a reservation which we did, luckily someone got there early. The waitress we had was excellent & attentive with it being so busy. Food was excellent.
Overall good dinner. I was disappointed the Double-cut Porkchop was not available, but the steak option was tasty just more expensive. The other dish we had was the fried chicken entrée and it was thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken dish was part of the $13.00 pizookie deal making it a great value. Overall we like BJ's and would recommend it to anyone looking for tasty food at reasonable prices.
No complaints at all. Waitress was friendly, attentive, and timely. Food was good. Good portion sizes. A pleasant experience.
We went here for a late dinner. We thought the restaurant closed at 12, but it actually closed at 11. We didn't realize our mistake until we were leaving at 11:30. The staff never mentioned it, or made us feel rushed or out of place. When we realized our mistake we felt horrible and apologized profusely. The staff was so kind and never gave us any attitude. It was so nice. The food is also amazing. The portions are large and delicious. Overall, a top experience. We will definitely be back!!!
Terran was an amazing server! She was attentive, friendly, and really made our night. Everything came out so quickly as well.
We came here for our daughter’s graduation dinner! First off Andre the hostess was fabulous. Very helpful and friendly.. We had a large table and Keegan was our server. He was super busy but never missed a beat.. We will definitely be back..
Eaten here numerous times, most recently on 6/12/2025 and can honestly say it’s always been good. The half rack of ribs with two sides is the perfect amount of food. This particular BJ’s is always clean too!
One does not simply stumble into BJ’s Brewhouse expecting a transcendent dining experience—yet that is precisely what unfolded on our most recent visit, thanks almost entirely to the extraordinary presence of our server, Gabe. From the moment he approached our table, Gabe carried himself with the polished assurance of a maître d’ at a Michelin-starred establishment. His greeting was warm yet impeccably professional, his knowledge of the sprawling menu encyclopedic, and his timing nothing short of symphonic. He guided us through the craft beer selection with the quiet authority of a sommelier, recommending the perfect pairing of BJ’s signature Enlightened Pizookie Trio with a crisp Brewhouse Blonde that elevated the entire meal into something unexpectedly refined. What truly set Gabe apart was his intuitive, almost clairvoyant anticipation of our needs. Water glasses never dipped below half-full, plates were cleared with balletic grace, and when we hesitated over dessert (a mortal sin at BJ’s), he materialized with a knowing smile and the gentle insistence that the world-famous Pizookie is, in fact, a non-negotiable rite of passage. He even accommodated a rather particular request for extra warm cookie edges with such enthusiasm you’d think we’d just commissioned a tableside soufflé. In an era where exceptional service often feels like a lost art, Gabe is a virtuoso. He transformed what could have been a casual night out into a masterclass in hospitality—effortless, genuine, and utterly memorable. BJ’s Brewhouse may be known for its deep-dish pizza and award-winning beers, but on this evening, it played host to one of the finest servers I’ve ever encountered in any restaurant, at any price point. Gabe, you are a legend. We’ll be back—specifically requesting your section. Bravo. Five stars, unequivocally.
We had a wonderful experience here while watching IU play in the CFP National Championship game. Hannah, the manager, went out of her way to welcome us and ensure a fun filled experience. We enjoyed the deep dish pizza and the pizooki. We had a vegetarian in our party and she didn't have any trouble finding sufficient options. This will be our new place to watch college football.
We really enjoyed BJ's and are looking forward to visiting again. This was our first time here, so didn't know what to expect. Prices were appropriate for the dishes. We got a sampler dish since we weren't really hungry, and everything was great. The pizookies were awesome! We got the trio and tried 3 different flavors. Each one was great. We noticed they had a huge selection of beers. The service was top notch. This place is definitely worth a visit.
how we doing bloomington, i'm from indy. i gotta say, this bjs blows the indy bjs out the water in every category. i actually had to get on here and type something out. service? A+ (took me lady out and we had kaley or something like that) she was OUTSTANDING super nice lady. but thats not important, what is important was the food, i got a pizza me lady got some alfredo (no broccoli... ik) but JESUS CHRIST BOYS, the portions was wild, had lunch for the next day type. anyway, They got something special back in that kitchen. And we recommend, well I recommend checking it out. My lady agrees tho. Good vibes all around, will be stopping by next weekend we come in town, (we like to party)
My daughter, son-in-law and I had a nice dinner here after a performance we were planning to attend got canceled. Really enjoyed the Poinsettia sparkler special cocktail! Very pretty and very tasty! Service was pretty good and we all enjoyed our entrees. I had the tri-tip wedge salad. Not my first choice in cut of beef but I decided to try it. It was tender and easy to cut. Wedge salad was very fresh and crispy, just as it should be! Lots of blue cheese included! My daughter had an entree salad and my son-in-law had wings and fries, both of which they enjoyed. Have only been to this location once before but it was a great experience.
Good food! Must try the spicy pig pizza! I ordered watermelon margarita, but it was a little bit watery and no taste of watermelon. Waiting on the food was a little bit long though, not a good place for a quick bit.
The Mac and Cheese impersonation was horrible, the asparagus was under cooked for my taste. Had to request blue cheese crumbles after the steak arrived. Wife's prime rib was great and the kids menu stuff is very low effort. Saving grace was the steak was a very good medium rare. Sides have really taken a dive at BJs
We stopped in for a bite when we couldn’t decide where to go. The food was pretty good. We were very happy with the level of rare for the steaks. I would definitely recommend the Cobb salad as it was delicious. As people who have both worked in the food industry, we were impressed with the clean taste of the fryer oil. It really made a difference in appetizer taste. The food presentation was great, the customer service was average, pricing was average. I’d be interested to try the brews and brussel sprouts next time.
Service: 10/10 Kathryn’s an amazing waitress, very polite and constantly keeps checking up on you. Food: 6/10 The chicken Alfredo isn’t the best however. It taste extremely boring, I’d rather spend my $22 at Chili’s or Applebees
stopped in today after work and sat at the bar it did take a little while for them to take my order and it wasn't busy but the food came out in a decent time after ordered and was fantastic struck up a conversation with the waitresses and they were all super nice even though they were not waiting on me the bar tender was. great place even with the wait.
It’s been a while since I’ve eaten at BJ’s, first time at this location. Been travelling around the country for a while and was surprised in Bloomington they are requiring mandatory masks until you get to the table. As for the meal - It was great! The “Enlightened Ahi Salad”. Very fresh and filling. The service was also great! Very friendly staff, didn’t bother you but were around enough if you need anything!
Such a friendly staff. We sat at the bar and had so much fun. The pinapple margarita was delish and beautiful.
My first time here! Enjoyed my lager and my burger 👍
First off, our waitress Brianna W was great! She checked in multiple times to make sure we were having a positive experience. My girlfriend ordered the Hickory Smoked Burger which was delicious. I ordered the 8 oz. sirloin, which was unfortunately a tad bit lack luster. I asked for medium rare and got a medium/medium well cook on my sirloin. Also, the sirloin had multiple parts that were hard to chew and borderline inedible. It was more like a $16 steak than a $23 steak. The place looks visually great. The dining room was clean and everyone appeared professional. Food is a 3.5/5 due to overcooking my steak and just the overall cut quality (I’m not a meat expert, I’m not sure if the inedible parts are just part of the cut). The fries were delicious. Service was a 5/5, like I said Brianna did a fantastic job. Atmosphere was a 5/5 as well, the place looks great. Overall a 4/5. We will be back.
The food is good but way overpriced. The music is way too loud and makes it hard to enjoy a sit down meal. Service is attentive even when busy, but the servers may feel rushed at busy times. Huge tvs playing sports if that's what you want but idk how you would hear over the loud music. I honestly only came here for the lucky ducky drink which was delicious.
The food was really good, the restaurant is nice and clean, and our waitress was helpful without being annoying. We ordered our food online to be ready shortly after we arrived, but it still took 15-ish minutes for our food to be done even though it wasn't busy. The portion was smaller than similar restaurants (I never saw a chicken breast so small). We got some Pizookies, and my wife kept saying they're much smaller than they used to be, but it was still good. While we were walking out we noticed that everyone else's Pizookies were big (plate size). My wife asked the hostess on our way out why ours were so small, and after she asked around she told us the meals we ordered that came with them only include the "mini" ones even though nothing said anything about them being mini when we ordered them.
The food is not with the price. It's interesting, but not good. Doesn't taste fresh..
This placed dropped in rating with me. Tonight we got a to go order. When we got to the restaurant the host made everyone who came in stand there while she chatted with a co worker. At first the conversation was working related but then it was all about how she wanted to go home. Finally they pointed us to the to go counter and the staff there was helpful. The food that we got though did not meet the mark. First the kids meals we ordered was supposed to be spaghetti and meatballs. There was 0 meatballs even though we paid for them. Then my $27 meal was supposed to come with 2 sides and what I got was barely one side. Pictures attached.
Visited this a few weeks ago. My best friend had went to one near her base in Reno and highly recommended it. On the date we went they were under-staffed and because of that it wasn't a great experience. My food tasted excellent, although, I was extremely hungry. However, the others in my party were not happy with their food--food was cold, items not cooked properly--and again a lot of that was just due to staffing and waiter/waitress trying to cover more tables on a Saturday in December. I worked in retail during the holidays, so I chose grace on this one and gave it three stars.
Everything was great except the prime rib. Probably one of the worst I have ever had. Gristle. Chewing. Almost impossible to cut. BJ’s, I know you can do better
UPDATE: BJ heard my complaint and responded prompty. I appreciate it since most establishments would ignore a review like mine. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but my second visit was bad enough that I feel compelled to share it. The first time I came here with two colleagues, I had a great experience with the wait staff. Unfortunately, when I returned alone, the experience was dramatically different. I was there for nearly two hours when I had hoped for a quick dinner. It took about 30 minutes before I was even served, and once my food arrived, my server never returned to the table. I finished my meal and then waited more than an hour just to receive my check. Imagine sitting at a table by yourself staring into the abyss or just scrolling through your phone. Two women seated next to me were kind enough to pay for my meal because they felt so bad about the situation. I don’t blame the server. This appeared to be a management issue, with staff stretched far too thin. I am honestly unsure whether I will return, as I do not want to risk being stuck in a restaurant for two hours again. And mine you, it wasn't even that crowded.
First and Last time at this establishment. We had a party of 7. Terrible service, undercooked shrimp and cold noodles, cold fries, cold broccoli, advocados looked old. At first, we were excited to get dessert, but after the bad entrees and poor service, we just wanted to leave. Couldn’t get anyone’s attention, waiter didn’t come to check to see if everything was ok after he served food. He was too busy counting his cash at a neighboring employee table. Very unprofessional! It was a bad experience and waste of money !
Management should retrain employees on service etiquette. The manager was very nice... but that didnt excuse the terrible service or undercooked food.
Our server was amazing I believe her name was Ashley 10/10 unfortunately can not say the same for the food . Me and my husband basically spent 60$ for both of us to share fried cheese balls and a steak because the rest of the food was inedible.
Honestly can't give full details. Haven't even been seated yet. I guess my experience so far . This was my daughter's favorite place to eat. Get here. Parking lot is full. Restaurant has maybe a quarter of the occupancy used yet the hostess can't seat anyone because they only have two servers available. No manager in sight helping. I guess I would say if you are in no hurry and you have half today to spend waiting on something to eat. This is the place to be. Told it was going to be around 25 minutes. It's probably close to 45 minutes now.
I would not recommend going to Bj's anytime around when college students are in town, as tonight was possibly the worst experience we've had here. Firstly, it took us more than 30 minutes to even place an order for our drinks after we were seated, and we were only able to get 2 refills out of the 3 hours we were stuck there. Then it took around another 10-20 minutes before we even got our appetizer, let alone the 30 minutes it took for our food to come out, and the food wasn't even hot when it came to our table, despite our waitress trying to convince us it was. The rest of our time spent there was waiting on our pizookie, which by the time it came out it was slightly warm and too hard to finish by the end. We had to use the QR code to check out our own receipt as our waitress was too busy checking other people out or taking new orders, not to mention that the table of four that got there after us managed to leave before we did. Overall, very slow service all around with food that didn't bother to make up for it.
Our first and worst experience dining at this restaurant. First of all we waited for almost an hour for our food which consisted of a chicken sandwich, wings, fries and a beer. The waitress indicated they didn't have a bartender so they had to pour the drink themselves. How are you a brewery with no bartenders? Secondly, the bone-in wings were raw and when I had shown them to the waitress she appeared confused. Thirdly, the excuse we were given regarding the wait time was "we are waiting on the fries" and we we received them they were COLD!!! Finally the kitchen cook came to inform us that the wings come the restaurant precooked so they shouldn't have been raw. Ummm Sir?!?! You did not prepare them properly as they were luke warm when they arrived to our table. So yeah we will not be back.
I do not recommend getting the weekend steak special. I order it and the food came out my steak was very red and was definitely not medium like I had ordered. Also there was a lot of fat on the meat. For $34 I can get a way better one anywhere else. This was my first time ordering steak here and definitely it will be my last time.
I used to love BJ’s but they are going downhill fast.Ordered takeout on Valentine’s Day and was shocked when I got home and looked at my charred burnt, both sides $17.00 Hickory Brisket Bacon Burger. Honestly it should have never been served to a customer. It was so burnt I couldn’t eat it. I did the survey they email about your food and even contacted them through their website and still haven’t heard a word back from them. So I’m really disappointed in that also. I live 30 minutes away or I would’ve returned it immediately. Sad to say I won’t be going back.
Came into town for visit in October 2021 & decided to do a web order and eat at the dorm. After receiving text the meal was ready had to wait 20minutes in the parking lot for our food. Then they tell us our hamburger order had to be redone. Another 30 minutes later we get our food. Get back to the dorm and find the well done burger to be cold and raw. Called to complain & was told we would get $25 discount gift card for our trouble via e-Mail. Didn’t get gift card so called and talked to manager few days later and was assured to get the gift card. To this day nothing received. Terrible food & worst customer service.
If you ever go to BJ's don't bother to sit at the bar. The service is very slow. Don't bother ordering the fish and chips. I have ordered fish and chips all over the United States and Europe. BJ's fish and chips are by far the worst I've ever had in 50 years. Even fast food or Long John Silver's fried fish is better than BJ's. I would dare the owner or manager to order fish and chips and see what they think. Nothing but extremely heavily seasoned batter and a little bit of fish. The chips are not chips they are just regular french fries. The music is so loud you can't have a conversation with anyone you might be with. I would recommend any other restaurant in Bloomington over this one
I have had more than one bad experience with this restaurant. The last bad experience was last week. I ordered delivery. It was on a Friday. I expected a wait. When I placed my order I received confirmation that the restaurant got my order. I used their website to order. Three different delivery drivers said they were waiting at the restaurant to pick up my food. So over an hour and half my food wasn't ready. When the last delivery driver canceled I called the store. I was told I never placed an order. I said I did and had confirmation and the money was already taken out of my bank account. The young lady who answered the phone kept saying I never placed an order. Of course I was upset but not rude. She eventually got the manager who I dealt with the previous time I had a bad experience. She was rude. She said I made her staff member cry! I couldn't understand how! The manager Hannah said it was the drivers fault not the stores. I asked if I could pick up my food because I already paid for it. She kept being rude to me so I finally asked to refund my money. She said she would within 24 hours ...well it been 5 days and I am out 35.05 and never received the refund or the food. That will be the last time I ever order from this restaurant..3 times they messed our orders up and now this. No thank you!
Service was good, sat at the bar. Not busy. My issue is the price for a 16 oz beer. Someone is smoking Crack. $9.50. Food prices high.
We are here for the first time Sunday while on spring break. I thought we were going to a place known for good food. I’m not sure now why I thought that. The food was just terrible. Bread on my sandwich with so dry and like old. We all ordered different items and all of it was just gross. Fast food would have been so much better than anything we ordered and for $169 it was a total rip off. Our service was awful. We waited 15 minutes before he ever came to greet us and get a drink order. Didn’t check in after we got our food and were missing things and had empty drinks. The restaurant was also extremely cold which was the best thing about the whole experience. Terrible food and service. I wish I could get my money back. Such a waste.
