Stayed in Riverside for the weekend for a wedding and stopped by Palenque for dinner because it was in walking distance of our hotel. This place had a lot of seating choices (was able to trap our toddler in a booth) and happy hour was really great. Guacamole had big, fresh chunks. Esquite was the highlight for me personally. They give plenty of limes for tacos. Would recommend.

Had such a great experience thanks to our server Sonia tonight! From the moment we sat down, they were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect without ever feeling rushed. They gave great recommendations, checked in at just the right times, and made the whole meal feel welcoming and relaxed. It’s rare to get service that genuinely makes the experience better, but they absolutely did. If you’re dining here, definitely ask for them—you’ll be in great hands! ⭐️

The food was good, ~$25 for 2 tacos. They were flavorful and had a lot of ingredients inside. We got the Quesa Birria Tacos and the Shrimp Tacos. The interior is pretty dark but lively with a bar in the center. Our server Christian was very helpful with the menu and making sure we were happy with our orders.

The food was very tasty but a bit pricey. The atmosphere was great and had nice vibes. Our food came out super quickly and our server Christian checked in on us and refilled our water quickly. He was great and gave us chips and salsa!

If you’re ever in downtown Riverside, I definitely recommend stopping by for some nachos. Just keep in mind that during the holidays they offer a special menu, so some regular options aren’t available. I ended up trying the fish tacos and really enjoyed them they were pretty tasty. For appetizer, I definitely recommend the fries. They were perfectly crispy but just keep in mind there's no ranch but they still taste pretty yummy with ketchup The rice and beans were okay, but the service was amazing and the atmosphere is definitely wonderful. Oh, and the Cadillac Margarita really hits the spot too.

While the food was delicious, the overall value and service were a bit disappointing. The portions are quite small for the price point, and we experienced significant delays with both ordering and following up on our request. Additionally, be aware that there is only one shared restroom for the entire restaurant, which can cause a wait.

We stopped by to grab a bite to eat after our daughter's attended their dance competitions at the convention center. From the pictures and 4.5 star review on yelp we thought it would be a good place. We were a party of 6. First we weren't allowed to sit inside because we didnt have a reservation. However there were plenty of seats inside that were empty. We decided to sit outside and requested a patio heater since it was a bit chilly. We were brought out a brunch type of menu. From yelp we saw they had more food available that was on this specific menu we were given. Per the waiter, they were only providing this brunch type menu today and he was unsure why but was told that management had only allowed this menu to go out which in his words hadn't happened before and just the day before were serving from 2 menus. He was very apologetic and we understand he's the waiter and has no control over these situations. We were also told they had no sodas today and he was not sure why. We asked for ranch and we're told they also did not have any. We ordered the breakfast burrito, kids bean and cheese burrito and quesadilla. The burrito came with no side. So we ordered a side of fries which were hot and fresh. The quesadilla came with rice and beans. We also got the red and green chilaquiles with steak and another order of green with chicken. To be honest we all agreed we have had better. I understand that not all places can have spicy food but we did ask which chilaquiles were spicy and were told red and they were not. They were very bland. The tortilla chips were not great either. It ended up just being a dish of soft mushy tortillas after they soaked up all the sauce. The red ones were more dry compared to the green. There was a minimal amount of steak and chicken. All in all it was not a great experience for the $. Dont think we'd ever go back again.

I don’t normally write reviews, but I feel obligated to here. This was easily the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Getting our drinks was genuinely the best part of the night, and it went downhill immediately after. We waited 30 minutes for guacamole after ordering it. When our carne asada finally arrived, it was missing the cebollitas, black beans, and chile toreado. Those were eventually brought out with zero explanation or apology. On top of that, our pozole was delivered to the wrong table entirely. After taking our order, we essentially never saw our waiter again. No check-ins. No “how is everything?” Nothing. Because of that, we couldn’t even correct the missing items when the food first arrived. We tried multiple times to flag him down, but he was nowhere to be found the entire meal. By the time we were finished, we had been trying to close out for over 30 minutes. We finally had to ask a food runner (who, to be clear, was incredibly kind and the only bright spot of the night) if he could help us pay. To top it off, we asked for to go containers for the pozole and were told they didn’t have any suitable containers. They handed us a flat container with holes in it. For soup. What? I understand it’s Christmas, and I really wanted to give them some grace. But this wasn’t just “busy” or “off night” service. It was complete neglect from start to finish. I’ve never felt this ignored at a restaurant before, and it completely ruined what should’ve been a simple meal. Absolutely unacceptable.

Atmosphere: The music was too loud. Service: Subpar this night (Dec 6th). I know it was busy, but it was 15 mins before our drink orders were taken. The food took a long time to come out. Pricing is so high! $24 for a plate of chicken salad (see pic) and $10 for a mango juice drink. I didn't order because everything was so overpriced with small portions. The refried beans that came with the taco meal was a surprise small portion, at least half, compared to all other Mexican restaurants I've ever been to. They got the order wrong and charged for it. That is twice the two tacos order. The churros desert has no cinnamon sugar on it; you had to rely on the whipped cream and a few thinly slices strawberries for the sweetness. None of the party of 5 enjoyed it. There were 2 birthdays in the party, and it was ignored after being reported, but they sang and brought b-day desserts to many other tables. I don't get it.
