You don’t ease into Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar — you’re pulled in by smell first. Something warm, sweet, and savory all at once. The kind of aroma that bypasses logic and goes straight to memory, even if you didn’t grow up anywhere near the South. The structure of the place feels relaxed on purpose. People settle in quickly, like they’ve been here before, even if they haven’t. Conversations stretch. Plates arrive generous and unapologetic. This is comfort food that isn’t shy about being comforting. Fried chicken with a crunch that actually matters. Biscuits that don’t pretend to be a side dish — they’re a statement. Honey that somehow tastes like it knows what it’s doing. Then there’s the contrast I didn’t expect: despite the richness, nothing feels heavy in spirit. You don’t get that post-meal regret, just a pleasant slowing down, like your body and brain agreeing to cooperate for once. The cocktails lean playful, the staff leans human, and nobody acts like you’re on a clock. Tupelo Honey isn’t about novelty. It’s about generosity — of flavor, of portion, of mood. You leave full, yes, but also oddly taken care of. And that’s not something every restaurant manages to pull off.

It's official. I now have a new favorite restaurant in downtown Boise and it's Tupelo HSK. I must admit I'm not that wild about "second floor" locations and prefer to watch pedestrian traffic while I dine unless there are better views from a higher seating location but the staff and food more than make up for that knit-pickey preference of mine. The GM named Rami is a wonderful young man who made us feel immediately welcomed and appreciated. He met us at the door and made us feel truly welcomed the minute we crossed the threshold. On top of that, our server named Charis was/is an absolute gem. Our entire party of 5 fell in love with her and her outrageously upbeat demeanor and attention to our needs. When I return, and trust me I will return, I will go my best to fit in her section again. Not only did Charis act as the host when we arrived, she ended up being our server due to a short staff situation and then she ended up closing the bar when a fellow employee found it necessary to leave early. I don't typically write about food but EVERYTHING we had was really good. I'm not typically a fan of chain restaurants but somehow everyone on fire made this place truly feel like a family owned/family run establishment. You owe it to yourself to try this place. I am confident you will enjoy your experience. UPDATE: Two of us returned the next day for brunch and I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. Today we were waited on by Jacob who couldn't have been any better. I also met Scott from the cooking line who came out and asked us a question. Each team member only have really nice things to say about their team partners. Rami as the GM is doing a great job from all I can tell and was on site once again and stopped by for a visit and gave us a desert on the house. I will return on my next trip.

Great Southern food! The sauce on the Brussel sprouts is fabulous! The fried chicken was perfect. Not too greasy and had a nice crispy skin. Remy the GM was rad as well, he took the time to introduce humself and chat with us.

Ordered brunch to go today and it was so good! Chicken was well seasoned and the biscuits were A++ was really excited to try this place being from North Carolina it’s hard to find good southern food outside of the south. The tea was even sweet!! The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because my gravy was missing from the biscuits and gravy- (laughing and crying). Will be back for more (and my side of gravy).

We flew into Boise Idaho for a business trip and went downtown for a bite to eat before we headed out to Parma where all the onions and potatoes grow. We found this little spot called Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & bar that was upstairs over looking the walking street off Idaho St. The hospitality at this place was great as soon as we walked in the doors and the food was just as good. We were seated and taken care of quickly and this place serves brunch all day. It was a beautiful view and the day was really nice to be sitting outside. My wife and I both ordered brunch with scrambles, potatoes and coffee. Great repot and would definitely come back when we visit again.

Great food and service. The balcony seating has a great view of the downtown area. I've been to the Knoxville Tennessee Tupelo Honey and this is a better location. The biscuits are phenomenal! The spicy chicken and waffles are superb!

Had the Bone-in fried chicken for dinner, with fried okra! Went back the next day for Sweet potato pancakes, crispy bacon and an over easy egg with an Iced Mocha! Everything is delicious, the Team is professional, friendly and they help each other!!! Rami has a great team and his MVP is Charis!

What an excellent all around experience at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar. And of course some amazingly prepared food for any palate. The ambience and the service was top notch. Very comfortable atmosphere and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating even with moving from their well decorated balcony to their spacious indoor seating. Room for small to larger parties. And what a great location for a good meal for any occasion. Our waiter also came with great recommendations for any appetite. We had the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich and the shrimp and grits. Both plates came out timely and were packed with some amazing flavor. Our current favorite dish is the Shrimp and Grits. So many amazing flavors packed into a perfectly portioned dish. And of course washing it down with their well crafted drinks made for a great meal on a beautiful day in downtown Boise. We cannot wait to come back to try more and get a bite of some of their mouth watering looking desserts!

Tupelo has some of the BEST southern breakfast I’ve ever had! The ambiance is so beautiful, inside and out. Everyone is friendly and attentive here and the service never lacks. We had the shrimp and grits (my favorite!), the fried chicken/biscuits, and the fried pickles. The shrimp and grits is what I get pretty much every time I go. The shrimp is cooked perfectly, as are the creamy/cheesy grits. The fried chicken is well seasoned and moist and the biscuits were fluffy and delicious. The fried pickles were a bit salty and too thin -the breading didn’t take well and the salt content made them hard to get down. However, it was not a deterrent -could just be a bad batch. Not pictured were our drinks -my date had a Bloody Mary that she quite enjoyed (comes with bacon and pickled okra) and I had the lavender mimosa -refreshing and just beautiful to look at! Overall, I would recommend anyone to go try them out . The food is delicious and the service is top notch. Check out the mimosa flights too if you can. ☺️

It was so fun being on the second floor balcony. Our group of parents went there twice for dinner during a soccer tournament, and they happily accommodated our large group. Delicious food and drinks!

The service was excellent, even though it was busy on new year's day for brunch. Their fried chicken is tender and juicy and perfectly cooked. The skin is nice and crunchy but not overly breaded. Their grits are my favorite item on the menu, even though it's a side. However, the chicken & waffles are perfect as well. The waffles have a little crunch but aren't too overdone, and their interior is moist and has a great texture. If you're into getting a cocktail, their drinks are ALWAYS good. I especially liked their blueberry mimosa this time. Honestly, it's worth the money and making the effort into going. I would recommend getting reservations if you go, because it's pretty popular.

The Beer Batter Catfish was very good. 2 generous sized filets, potato cracklins and the crispy Brussel sprouts are a meal I would get again. All 4 meals that I tasted were very good. I felt they were all priced appropriately. I will be back.

We had a great experience! Our reservation was at 10am opening time. They had an hour and a half wait time for walk ins. So I’d recommend a reservation. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Overall experience was so pleasant. We stayed for just over an hour and our waitress continuously made sure our coffee was refilled and checked in with us through out our experience. The food was tasty and I certainly appreciate the diversity it brings to Boise. I will definitely dine here again. The atmosphere was bright and spacious. Everything was great; the food, the service and atmosphere. I’d recommend Tupelo Honey to anyone looking for a fantastic southern meal and dining experience. Thank you Tupelo Honey for a wonderful time.

This restaurant is a gem! Always delicious entrees, unique cocktails and a fun lively atmosphere. Order the cast iron pork,.....🤤, with grits and collard greens. My partner ordered the beef brisket served on a bed of arugula and grits. Also ordered crispy Brussels sprouts appetizer and the peach & pineapple sangria and in house ginger beer drinks. The pork had a tender texture that flaked off and melted in my mouth. It seemed to have a salty taste, could it be from brining it before slow cooking? I received reports that the brisket was very tender and delicious, seasoned well and paired nicely with the arugula and grits. The appetizer was a miss. Majority of the sprouts were just steamed and not crispy at all. However, it was one of the two items that were gluten free- the other was the pimento cheese and chips. The beverages were prepared well and refreshing. The flavors mixed well together and we're not overly sweet or overpowering. I would recommend maybe increasing the size of the well drinks to reflect the cost of these beverages. The sangria was served in a small stemmed wine glass. The entree portion sizes were spot on. Cleaned everything on my plate and was pleasantly satiated from the meal. The restaurant was clean and neat. Service was pleasant however not very attentive. We were seated, served, finished eating, and paying our check within a 30 minute time frame. A little too quick and efficient for our tastes. It felt as if our server wasn't interested in our experience and just wanted us to eat and get out. A reservation is recommended during the more busy times. We made ours for 7:00 PM. Shortly after we were seated the dining area was filled to capacity with a few waiting to be seated.

Our favorite restaurant, hands down. We come here all the time and it never disappoints. The service is amazing, the food is incredible, and you can tell they truly care about their customers. So grateful to have such a great place nearby!

We couldn't get into another restaurant, so we went here. Had the spicy sweet chicken and waffles, perfect portion for me an older person. Sweet tea was spot on and banana pudding was really good with outstanding ability to actually taste the bananas. We had a great waitress and the restraunt staff was very inviting and friendly. I am eager to go back.

We are visiting Boise and literally fell upon and into Tupelo Honey. The food was delicious. Portions were satisfying. Mac and cheese was served lukewarm and without hesitation a fresh hot bowl was brought out to the table. Impeccable service. Vibe was warm and enchanting. The fried chicken, the meatloaf, , the tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and fried pickles were all so tasty. Not a crumb left! Our host and waiter were highly attentive and polite. Highly recommend for a casual, welcoming vibe with yummy southern food.

We enjoyed Tupelo Honey. The food was good, especially the appetizers like the fried okra and brussel sprouts. The fries were also very good. The peach jam for the biscuits was well done. The fry sauce (mayo, vinegar, ketchup) was great also. We had great service with Avery as our waitress and didn't wait very long for our food. We made a reservation easily online but it was not too crowded anyway. The entrees were good but not anything too special. It was a little confusing finding the escalator to get upstairs since the restaurant is on the second floor. The menu is well labeled for gluten free items, but no dairy free options clearly labeled.

We stopped by Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar while visiting Idaho for the first time and overall had a really good experience. The food was delicious, well prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was excellent too.. the restaurant is beautifully designed and made for a very enjoyable dining setting. The only downsides were a few service hiccups. It took a while for our food to arrive and we had to ask twice for water and also for a glass for my beer. These were small things but still worth mentioning. That said, the quality of the food and the great vibe of the place made it a worthwhile stop. We'd definitely consider coming back the next time we're in town.

Fried chicken was excellent. The house salad was disappointing with way too much iceberg lettuce. Staff was very friendly and helpful but the service was a bit slow probably due to being very busy.
