Amazing nice hotel. They have a cool bar right under that I enjoyed. Rooms are clean and service has been good. Also pricing is reasonable. Highly recommend.
Everything about this place is professional, sweet, and cozy. Ask the locals: if they stay out too late on a weeknight, this is the place you feel safe and tucked in for the night.
Convenient location, the building is old but well-maintained, and the room is spacious. The staff is friendly.
Excellent location, I loved it. We went for a couple of nights and ended up staying longer. The service is excellent, and we even got an upgrade. It’s very comforting to have friendly staff, from the housekeeping team to the front desk. We would come back a thousand times, and we hope they don’t lower their standards. The hotel is very well located; it’s easy to get everywhere. It’s right in downtown, and you can walk to various tourist attractions. The rooms are excellent, and there’s free coffee and filtered water. There’s also a bar on the first floor. I highly recommend it.
I recently stayed at Club Quarters Boston from June 4th to June 8th, and I wanted to personally recognize two of your team members who went above and beyond in delivering outstanding guest service: Rayshawn and Diana at the front desk. I’ve included a detailed review below that I’ve also shared on TripAdvisor, but I wanted to reach out directly because their performance was truly exceptional. As a business owner myself in the service industry, I’m always observing how team members interact with customers. I can confidently say that both Rayshawn and Diana are rare talents—the kind of individuals who elevate your brand, leave a lasting impression, and genuinely make a difference in the guest experience. Over the course of four days, I had daily interactions with Rayshawn, and each time he was thoughtful, engaged, and consistently went out of his way to help with personalized recommendations and warm service. Diana’s welcome upon our late arrival set the tone for a great stay, and her professionalism and kindness were also remarkable. If your company has an employee recognition or rewards program, I sincerely hope you’ll consider submitting them for it. These two team members are assets to your property—and to your brand—and they deserve to be recognized not only by guests, but by leadership as well. Thank you for fostering a team that clearly takes pride in its work. I look forward to returning to Club Quarters in the future.
My husband and I stayed here for our weekend getaway trip from Chicago! And we absolutely fell in love with Boston. The hotel was in the perfect location, everything is within walking distance. Carla at the front desk was absolutely amazing, gave us excellent recommendations and was a delight to talk to too! - Sasha & Will
Wonderful staff. Diana, Daniel, the housekeeping team, and other staff members made a birthday card for our son on the first night, and it made him feel so special. The room was larger than expected, and we appreciated the refillable water bottles and sparkling water in the lobby. We will definitely be back.
Lovely hotel in a great location! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on floor 2, so we were a bit worried about noise from the street outside, but we didn't hear a thing. The gym was great for a hotel gym, and the yoga mat in the room was a welcome touch. Would definitely stay here again.
First visit to Boston can't wait to go again loved it. Will definitely use same hotel
We absolutely love this place. To start with it was $125 per night less than the next closest choice of ours. The room was a little smaller than others we've stayed in but still plenty big enough for us and probably the main reason it was so much cheaper so that's a great trade off. Plus it was very nice and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was great especially Carla who helped get us checked in on day 1. The hotel is very walkable to many things. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Boston and will look for CQ in other cities.
The hotel was great, the location the best, and the staff wonderful they support us all the time.
This hotel is situated in a great location. Walkable to so many restaurants and sightseeing spots. The rooms are smaller, but that is to be expected in any big city. It was quite comfortable for two people. I was actually very impressed by the water pressure in the shower! We also loved the refillable water stations on each floor.I would definitely stay at a club quarters again when traveling!
We had such a lovely stay here and will be staying here again on our next trip to Boston! Our room was so clean and comfortable. The restaurant is so convenient and had great food. The living room with free coffee was so cozy and nice. The stations of free purified chilled water were convenient and helpful. But best of all the staff was so kind. We had our 7 month old baby and our senior dog with us on this stay. The staff, particularly Carla were so accommodating and kind.
My fiancé and I stayed here for four days, and while the hotel and location were great, the service was truly impeccable. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted with help (unfortunately, I did not get this associate's name) and were also helped upon checkout by Carla. We had some weird flight times, and the staff helped us with booking and transportation information to make this trip flawless. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with a big room, then this hotel is not for you. However, if you are looking to visit Boston and have a clean, reliable hotel whose associates greet you every time you walk in and out, are happy to give directions and recommendations, and work hard jumping through hoops to make your vacation great - then this is your hotel. We will definitely be back - thank you, Club Quarters!
nice hotel in the very center of Boston, 2 min to State subway which brings you directly to the airport. No taxi needed.
Nice & very clean hotel & rooms & bathrooms. Centrally located in the city near South Station (for public transport), TD Garden & Fenway. Free water & coffee stations was clutch. Didn't have to go to one supermarket on my trip. Stored my bags securely for a couple of hours after checkout.
Great location, excellent restaurant service breakfast. Fantastic experience. Room was ample.
We stayed for a snowy long weekend with our two young children. Tristine at the front desk made our stay extra special by taking the time to talk to my toddler each time we saw her. It gave us all a great experience and made him love staying in a hotel, which he was originally very nervous about. The attached restaurant was convenient and child-friendly. Great location, too. We would absolutely stay again.
Stayed a night before flight over, all fine. Close to airport and conveniently located accessible to major public transportation routes and some attractions. Friendly service and complimentary coffee/tea. Gym equipment weights could be newer, but still enough room and equipment to make a basic workout, and the bike is very new and good. Overall it was a good stay and thanks to the team for complimentary early check in upon arrival!
I was worried when I read the reviews about this CQ because many complained about a bad bed and noise from the street and hallway. It got me to second guess my decision to book the CQ for the weekend. But I am happy to report that at least in my case I slept quite fine, the bed was new and in good shape. There was indeed some noise from street, but didn’t bother me at all (I am from a city, but it could bother others who are not used to city sounds). The staff was exceptionally warm. Every person that I interacted with seemed happy to work there and to talk to their guests. I was able to get a late check out at 3pm for an extra fee, which helped a lot with my late evening flight out of Boston so that I could keep my room for much of the day. I also appreciate the hotel hospitality offering tea and coffee in the lobby (and rooms) and filtered water in the corridors. Last, the location and the price are hard to beat (at least for a weekend stay). So I would absolutely come back to this hotel when in Boston.
Nice hotel in a GREAT location. We basically were able to walk everywhere and if not, the subway station is very close. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean and again, the location was excellent.
One of the best hotel for the money. Nice sized room with a Nespresso coffee machine, water and water bottles provided in the hallway, self service additional amenities cupboard, coffee machine and tea on the ground floor. We got breakfast included as well, tho there were some confusion getting the breakfast vouchers as they couldn’t see we selected and pay for that option as we booked via Expedia. They sorted it out in the end. Breakfast was at the attached “British styled” pub called Elephant and Castle. A very interesting name choice. Good standard dinner style breakfast.
Carla is amazing! From the moment my husband and I entered the hotel she was so helpful. We were in town for a Red Sox game and she showed us how to get around and points of interest. We only stayed one night but we will definitely be back. The hotel location is close to Quincy Market for a foodies paradise and parking is close by as well. Parking is not on site of the hotel but not a far walk, don't forget your ticket! There's so much to see and do near the hotel, it's a prime location for seeing all Boston has to offer. Bonus free delicious coffee and water to fill up your water bottles at the hotel. Once again Carla was exceptional! She was tentative to every guest she encountered and super friendly. There should be a Carla at every location 😊!! Carla thanks so much for everything!!
This was a great hotel! Stayed here 4 nights over the Halloween weekend. Great beds and pillows. The location is walking distance to everything and south side train station.
Good hotel overall. It did the job to sleep there. Felt extremely safe and clean at the hotel. Would stay again.
Perfect hotel with nice staff, comfortable rooms and great restaurant. We had nice breakfast and also dinner. Location is in the city centre, close to everything but in quiet street.
I can't rate this place highly enough, hotel is great, well placed for food and drinks locally, pub/restaurant is good quality especially for breakfast, staff super helpful with advice on things to visit. OK so on the second night here I got spiked in a bar, managed to get back to the hotel and got very unwell, my wife phoned front desk for help as I was sick then became unresponsive, the staff stayed with her and supported her while we waited on an ambulance, I was completely out of it, and if it wasnt for them I may not be here. When we got back to the hotel around 6 we in the morning, the room was still a mess but at that point we didn't care and needed sleep, when I was well enough to move the next day we talked to the staff about the room, they cleaned it no questions asked, I mean it was a mess and they made it like new, we were so apologetic but they made what was a bad stay alot better, this incident made the rest of the week feel bad but I think this hotel redeemed the whole holiday
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Carla and Trisha, who went above and beyond to make my experience special. Their exceptional service truly made a difference. The location is perfect—just a short walk from shopping, restaurants, the train station, and easy access to water taxis and other transportation. The room was very comfortable, just the right size, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The overall environment was warm and inviting, making it a great place to unwind. Thanks to the amazing hospitality, especially from Carla and Trisha, I will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future!
Looking for a hotel with stellar customer service in the heart of Boston? Look no further. Our experience with the front desk staff at CQ beat any other hotel experience that my wife and I have had, including at five star hotels. We had the most amazing stay thanks to Carla. She took really great care of us, taking the time to engage in conversations, and gave us the best guest experience we encountered in any hotel (and we travel a LOT). Thank you again for a wonderful stay, and we’re so glad we chose this hotel for our time in the city. We can’t wait to visit again, or to see Carla’s debut on YouTube- whichever comes first!
I stayed here with three of my friends for a weekend birthday trip, and we absolutely loved our experience! Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, it’s perfect for a group stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating from the start, allowing us to store our luggage both before check-in and after check-out, which made exploring the city so much easier. We really appreciated the complimentary coffee and water stations, such a thoughtful touch and the cozy sitting area just past the lobby was perfect for relaxing and chatting before heading out. The location couldn’t be better: it’s within walking distance of the train station and many of Boston’s main attractions, yet it still feels peaceful and tucked away from the city noise. For the price, you truly can’t beat the convenience and comfort this hotel offers. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return on our next trip to Boston!
We stayed 3 days for the Halloween weekend. The location is just in the heart of everything! Very walkable to the most popular sites, just a few minutes from the market. The staff is fantastic—we had some issues with our room, and they resolved everything right away. The service is 10/10! Thanks for a great experience.
Nice staff at the front desk. Rooms are pretty good and clean. Quiet and great location
Good spot and location Easy to get in and out There is a great bar downstairs as well as the hotel lobby has sparkling water on tap and a good coffee machine Nice that there are refillable water spots
The hotel location is perfect for business or tourism. The room was really clean and had amenities but was really outdated. The breakfast was an a la carte one from the Irish restaurant underneath the hotel. I loved how attentive the staff was. The room was a little noisy as the door is not keeping any noise out from the hallway.
UPDATE: All resolved after many emails. Bad client service. They won’t refund our security deposit which is my mom’s money. And they won’t even provide a receipt of payment. They don’t reply to emails for months and when you call they say you need to email. I will try and make sure none of my friends stay at this hotel again.
Great location, very walkable to the most popular sites. The staff were great! Given we were going to be walking ten plus miles, the provided filtered water refill stations were a GREAT addition and we refilled our water bottles twice. It's also connected to a nice bar/restaurant where we had a nice dinner. The hotel is somewhat basic, not a lot of amenities, but we didn't need them anyway. Bonus: we thought we would be paying $66 to park, but with the hotels stamp it was only $27 for 4:15 pm to 2pm the next day.
This is a comfortable, cozy hotel with a door to the restaurant (Elephant & Castle Pub) next door. You might or might not get complimentary breakfast with your room. My siblings got vouchers with their rooms but I did not. Perhaps there's some difference in what we paid for the rooms. I love the bathroom in the room. Location of the hotel is excellent, within walking distance of Boston Common, Public Garden, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, etc.
Overall, a nice hotel with a great location and pub attached. Quite reasonably priced and the room, while small, was still perfectly fine. The purified water station (complete with take-away bottles) is a brilliant touch. Aside from the guy who checked us in being not very welcoming and certainly curt (example. Me: What room are we in? Him: It's printed on the back of the envelope) and getting hosed on room choice, I'd still recommend.
Hotel location is excellent for visiting all of Boston's historical sites - 5 to 10min walk from pretty much anywhere - chinatown, parks, commons, old churches, state house, markets, the harbour, the greenways, lots of bars & restos etc Room was pretty spacious, if a little old school. Amenity set up was very basic, but good. Mattress is comfortable - slept well. Wifi was good. TV & hot water worked. HVAC rattled and rumbled like soft thunder, but not an issue with some noise-cancelling headphones. Just don't look inside the ventilation vents.
The room was dirty. No mattress protector or fitted sheet for bed. Dust in and on everything. No trash bags in trash cans. No utensils or cookware to use on stove top. Under the bed was gross with trash and dust. No bedbugs or I would have left, but after a long trip, plus being chronically ill, I said whatever. Staff was so friendly and having it attached to a great restaurant was a bonus. Was walkable to almost everywhere I was going during my stay.
The rooms are small and clean. I requested a queen sized bed. It was a double. The front desk assured me I was in a room with a queen. If you want a queen, I recommend reserving the king.
Rooms are small, tight squeeze and pretty basic . The water pressure was amazing but the shower was so cramped. Outlets didn’t work and were scarce. And the rooms were dusty and just old They provide complimentary filter water from a machine Personnel at the front desk were nice but that’s about it in customer service. Everything else is all self service . We asked for shaving kit and they directed us to some closet we can go to in our floor to service ourselves. It’s in a good location but Wouldn’t stay here again
Hotel is good, rooms are nice, breakfast is good (and super good staff!!)✨✨ I would definitely go again :) My only bad comment would be that you need to request room service specifically daily (via Phone or at the Reception) and it is a bit annoying :(
The location cannot be beat, and the Elephant and Castle pub downstairs has been a favorite of mine since the 1990s. Devonshire Street is quiet too, sleep should be easy. That said, this hotel is a little dark and dreary. Beige lighting and decor is very 1990s. Rooms are clean and bedbug free. But you would have more fun and probably more value for your money at Yotel or Citizen M, my two Boston favorites.
Disappointing experience-Not Worth the price I booked a hotel in Kitchener expecting a comfortable and well-equipped stay, but unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas. Despite advertising a kitchenette, the room lacked basic essentials like a stove, pots, and utensils—only a small fridge and microwave were provided, which made meal prep nearly impossible. The room itself had issues too. The charger outlet wasn’t working, and although I made multiple requests, it took quite a while before it was finally fixed. Service overall was lackluster. I asked for room cleaning, and while they acknowledged the request, it was never followed through. That kind of disregard is incredibly frustrating, especially at a hotel charging premium rates. There were water stations on every floor, which was a small plus, but beyond that, I didn’t see anything that justified the high price. The hotel seems to rely solely on its location to justify its rates, without offering the quality or amenities you’d expect from a high-end property. I won’t be returning and would recommend sticking to chain hotels that maintain consistent standards. On a brighter note, the adjacent restaurant and pub were quite good—probably the best part of the stay.
Stayed here this weekend- small but cozy- memory foam mattress is nice, but warm. Be warned! Bring your own power strip- 2 outlets in room worked, the 3 on the desk never did- even after being "fixed"- kinda' cheaped out on the coffee- only 3 Nespresso pods in the drawer- coffee in lobby was "mehhh" but being attached to Elephant and Castle Pub made it worthwhile- a bit pricey for what you get-
Room is clean and quiet, and the location is good. But the fact that their gym is not usable in the evening is extremely disappointing, given the winter weather, there aren't any other viable options to get a work out in. Any health conscious traveler will tell you, taking care of yourself on the road is both important and hard. I won't be staying at a hotel that only has their gym open when it's convenient for them rather than their guests.
The robotic check in system failed 3 times. Staff did their best to cover a failed process (I had a valid reservation). Charged $275 per night and... the room is the noisiest I have ever stayed in , street noise all night including siren bursts, clear audio from rooms either side, air con unusable at night due to noise. Even the fridge joined in on the noise but at least that had a temperature dial. Whoever owns this place, try using an incompetent robot at check in after an 11 hour flight and airport drive from home and see how you like it.
Arrived at the same time as another couple; receptionist booked us in at the same time on adjacent self check-in screens, very pointedly said to us that the room would only be cleaned every 3 days (vs every day for the other couple) - grating as we had upgraded our room. Room itself is disappointing in many ways. 1. Always had a 'damp' feeling upon entering, on the sheets, in the bathroom, etc. 2. Silverfish (insects) in room, likely due to point 1 as they thrive in damp and dusty conditions. 3. Fridge froze everything we put inside (no matter where we put it), ruining food and a bottle of ours (due to the water/ice expanding). 4. Aircon noisy and barely cools the room. 5. TV lags and poor color on screen. 6. Uncomfortable bed. Damp feeling, as mentioned, plus terrible pillows and sheets. 7. Small, cramped bathroom and shower with cheap curtain. 8. Does the bathroom fan work? Who knows, but it sounds like an asthmatic, tired bee (i.e. barely audible buzzing). 9. Old and tired paint/decor throughout. 10. 3* hotel? The star system needs to be looked at or the hotel reassessed/rechecked. Pros: 1. Good location. 2. Filtered water and bottles available on every floor. Too expensive for what you get in return. I'm sure this will get the standard reply to negative reviews which should tell anyone looking at reviews that the owners don't care to engage with customers or improve conditions. Find a different hotel that is worth the money.
Definitely would not be coming back. The most uncomfortable thing was the front desk staff’s attitude when I asked why there’s an another door in my room. He could’ve easily explain the connecting room and how it works - which I confirmed with another staff the next morning. Instead he offered me an “option” to leave in the middle of the night as an exchange for expressing my concern with my safety as a solo female traveler. Other than this, there’s really nothing positive thing about this crappy hotel with arrogant staff besides the location.
It's more like a Glamping than a hotel. In order to accommodate a second bed ( it's a Sofa/ Bed) in the bedroom, you have to fold the only existing table. So all your belongings have to go to the floor, there's not a single shelf to organize your stuff. I asked 3 times for a blanket and was ignored. Next time I will stay outside downtown and use the subway to get to the surroundings. Parking is so confusing. You make the check in in the hotel, park you car at the garage ( 2 or 3 smal blocks away), take the ticket, validate it at the hotel, pay at the machine at the right side in the parking garage...
I am furious with this establishment. My daughter and her best friend wanted to travel to Boston for their new admit days at their respective colleges, and they wanted to travel alone. Being responsible young women, all us parents approved. I *called* this establishment to confirm that it would be possible for them to check in, and I was very clear about their ages — I was assured that it would be. Imagine my surprise when my daughter calls to tell me that they *can't* check in because neither is 21. I now have two teenagers in Boston by themselves with no place to stay. Thank *god* we have a relative there who can come down and check them in, but this establishment seemed perfectly willing to leave them homeless without a place to stay if *we* couldn't find someone to check them in. Basically, *we* had to fix *their* mistake or our girls would be out on the street in Boston. How can any hotel consider this acceptable customer service?
booked this property over call for 2 nights in February. When i checked in the front-desk just checked me in an did not take me through my booking detail and i also did not imagine that they have only booked me for one night. Unaware of this fact, i was out the next day for lunch and at 2:30PM i got a call from the hotel to checkout since they don't have any room and can't extend. I ran back to the hotel and got my bag out . No one told me anything else and i had to quickly find a new hotel and move. Upon return i find that the hotel has charged me 150 dollars for late checkout (the room charge was 169 dollars). The staff is very rude when i spoke to them. The rooms in this hotel are very small and dingy and the beds small for two people - please do not stay at this property - the only good thing is location.
Do not stay at this place! Terrible staff. When I tried to cancel my reservation 4 days prior to the trip they wouldn't do it, even though I am sick and cant travel anymore. Terrible service. Will make sure neither myself nor anyone in my company ever does further business with them.
The location was good, the staff was friendly...noise was horrible. They placed me at a room next to the elevator and I got the worst night's sleep I ever received in a hotel.after over a month of asking for assistance, I was denied any compensation ....not even a lousy coupon code for a future stay. I got sorry, and that was that. Never again. Beware room 501, even after 2 doses of maximum strength sleeping pills, the elevator kept me up all night. No wonder they offered that room to me early with no early check-in fee, when I didn't even ask for early check-in to begin with. I thought they were doing me a favor. Nope, they just wanted to unload that room. Waste of over $200.
The walls are paper thin. DO NOT STAY HERE, you won’t be able to sleep. No one told us we needed to request the room to be cleaned so we came back and didn’t have fresh sheets/towels. Should have just stayed in an Air BnB. The front desk staff hung up on me when I called to request our room to be cleaned.
While staff were friendly, my room was severely overpriced for the two night stay I had. Upon arriving, the room itself was 80-some degrees. I tried to change the thermostat which says that you need to choose a low or high fan to keep it running, which was necessary because multiple sections of the walls had things vibrating behind them (you could push on the wall and the buzzing noise would stop but if you removed your hand, it resumed). While I set the temperature for 64, my room instead got exponentially hotter. I called the front desk in the morning and asked them to have a technician fix the A/C while I was out for the day (as I assumed it’s turned off since it’s winter). They claimed they had made a note. Came back and while my room had been cleaned, the temperature issue had not been fixed. I spent two nights trying to sleep in 80-some degrees (needless to say, I wasn’t able to sleep either day). Add to it that my entire room’s floor was legitimately vibrating, none of the outlets or charger stations next to bed worked for charging things, the door had no stripping to block light or seal from the hallway, the windows are safety locked (so I couldn’t even crack them to cool the room down), and the television simply stopped working on the second night (after having been glitchy on the first night). I don’t mind having a small room that’s older as it adds charm usually, but for the price of this hotel, I can’t justify losing sleep or having been ignored about literally roasting in my room that I wasn’t able to cool down below 80F. About the only thing I really appreciated was the water fill stations with reusable plastic bottles provided.
