Opinions de Fin Point Boston
Fin Point Oyster Bar + Grille at The Dagny is a great spot if you're looking for a relaxed and stylish place to stop in for a drink. We came by for a quick cocktail and ended up really enjoying the chill vibe at the bar. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, making it an easy place to unwind. The cocktails were delicious and well made, and they also offer a nice selection of oysters, which were fresh and very tasty. Everything we tried was high quality and left a great impression. Overall, Fin Point Oyster Bar + Grille is a solid choice for drinks and light bites, and it definitely made us want to come back to enjoy a full meal. I'll absolutely be returning to dine there.
A Must. Fin Point delivers an upscale yet modern seafood experience. The interior is beautiful and well-maintained, especially the cozy lounge seating, which adds a relaxed touch to the elegant vibe. There’s also a sleek bar area and a handful of table options for different dining preferences. The service was generally good, though our server seemed a bit distracted, and drinks took a little longer than expected—but they were absolutely worth the wait. We came during their happy hour ($1 oysters on Fridays from 2–5 PM), and everything we ordered was a hit. The oysters were fresh and flavorful, and the mussels were exceptional—served in a rich, mouthwatering sauce with perfectly toasted bread for dipping. I’ll definitely be coming back to Fin Point.
We had an unexpected and amazing experience here. We randomly parked near the restaurant and decided to walk in on a whim. At first, it was quiet — but not long after we sat down, the place started to fill up fast. The food absolutely exceeded our expectations. The shrimp taco was just okay, but the clam chowder and seared scallops were out of this world — super well-balanced, rich in flavor, and packed with meat. We finished with the chocolate mousse, which was perfectly balanced — deep chocolate flavor without being overly sweet. Every bite felt thoughtful. 10/10. Totally worth the accidental stop.
Located in the Dagny Hotel, the Fin Point Oyster Bar is a super classy place to grab a drink and have a meal. The ambiance here is off the charts. The oysters were great today as well!
Every Friday night, this place is my go-to spot to unwind, and it never disappoints. The food is always amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the service is top-notch. Ana and Stephanie behind the bar are the perfect duo — they’re friendly, fun, and seriously know how to make a great drink. Their espresso martinis are out of this world! You can tell they love what they do and always make everyone feel welcome. Great vibes, great people, and great drinks — can’t recommend this place enough!
Great oyster bar and restaurant! Highly recommend, we had two wonderful dinners! The staff is extremely professional and Chris the manager went above and beyond to make us feel very welcome. Food was delicious and cocktails superb!
I come here for two things. Absolutely everything on the menu and our girls Anna and Steph. Perfect drinks and execution every time.
My girlfriend and I had an outstanding evening at Fin Point Oyster Bar & Grill on Broad Street—part of the Hilton—sampling some of their standout dishes and drinks in a stylish yet approachable setting. We started with the Cold Seafood Tower ($89), a grand presentation featuring a luxe assortment of oysters (including Lemon Stone and Mere Points), jumbo shrimp, half a lobster, and salmon tartare. The oysters were fresh, briny, and beautifully chilled—perfectly reflecting Boston’s East Coast pedigree. Since we weren’t starving, but still hungry, we opted to share the Lobster Ravioli ($36), made with Maine lobster and ricotta in a creamy mushroom sauce ... It was indulgent, balanced, and enough for two without feeling heavy. A shoutout to our bartender, Stephanie, who brought energy and charm to the evening. She crafted excellent cocktails and kept the conversation as fresh as the seafood—she’s a real asset to the team. To cap off the meal, the restaurant surprised us with the Four‑Dessert Sampler (petit fours, sorbet, mousse, and strawberry shortcake)—each bite delightful and visually appealing. We paired it with a glass of Allegrini Palazzo della Torre Amarone red wine ($15), which offered deep cherry notes and a velvety finish—an inspired choice from Stephanie’s recommendation What stood out: - Fresh, varied oysters, especially Lemon Stone & Mere Points - Rich, flavorful lobster ravioli—perfectly portioned - Stellar service from Stephanie, our bubbly and knowledgeable bartender - Impressive dessert sampler and expertly chosen Amarone Bottom line: Fin Point delivers an elevated seafood experience with standout flavors and top-tier service. Ideal for a date night or special occasion—don’t miss the seafood tower and lobster ravioli, and let Stephanie guide you on drinks and desserts!
Our company dinner at this venue was fantastic—everything from the food to the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring our drinks were always topped off. During cocktail hour, a variety of appetizers were passed around, and I especially enjoyed the sliders, bacon-wrapped scallops, shrimp skewers, and margherita pizza. For the 3-course dinner, I had the clam chowder, followed by the beef tenderloin, and ended with a decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. Let’s just say, roll me out of there—I’m absolutely stuffed!
Amazing dining experience! Fresh raw oysters were delicious. Grilled peach with tomato and burrata salad was worth coming for just by itself. Lobster ravioli and chicken with potatoes were perfect! Our server was so helpful and very attentive. Outstanding dining experience in Boston!
Beautiful high-end restaurant in a prime location downtown. Elegant interiors, pleasant atmosphere (not too loud like other restaurants, you can actually carry a conversation). We had the salmon and the chicken dishes. They were fancy and beautifully plated, but honestly not enjoyable: very greasy and too spicy, and the portions were small and not filling. We would have had some fun cocktails but there were none on the menu. Desserts were also fancy but with too much fat. Yet I'm writing a 5-star review thanks to the great service by our waiter Elias (I hope I'm not misspelling, the staff does not wear name tags) and the manager Eric. They were both professional, kind, helpful, patient and service oriented. We celebrated a special occasion, and they helped make it pleasant and personable.
I had breakfast with my boyfriend on Saturday morning. We discovered the place walking around downtown. We weren't sure of what to order, so our server, Maira, was really helpful at giving us options. I ordered a Salmon Benedict, and my boyfriend decided to get Huevos Rancheros. The food was really tasty, and the staff were kind, helping us out getting a table and taking care of what we needed. I would highly recommend it.
We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant with my husband and our friends. We made a reservation in advance. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. I ordered the clam chowder and lobster ravioli, both of which were delicious. My husband chose the steak frites ‘au poivre’ along with a beet salad. Our server frequently checked on us, ensuring we had everything we needed. This restaurant is conveniently connected to the hotel.
Great spot for dinner and drinks in Downtown! The atmosphere inside is wonderful, but we opted to sit outside and their patio had gorgeous views of the city. Perfect for a date night or to grab some drinks and apps with friends. Highly recommend the tuna tacos and the espresso martini! All of the dishes were very fresh, and they rotate the menu with seasonal offerings. If I came back, I’d probably skip out on the dessert because it was kinda bland.
The clam chowder is out of the world. This is the best dish ever. Oyster is fresh👍🏻👍🏻 The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. If I have a chance to come to Boston again, I will come back.
I live in Fl and went there with some friends and I had an amazing experience. Food was extremely delicious and 10/10 service, I would definitely come back and recommend this beautiful place.
Fantastic espresso martini. The cape cod oyster special can’t be beat. Very much enjoyed the crab cake sandwich as well.
My husband and I came here to celebrate getting married. It was THE BEST experience ever! If you’re looking for a restaurant with an elegant and impeccable ambiance, extraordinary food, and superb service then Fin Point is a MUST! I will definitely be coming back. This is what we had for our celebration of love: 3 dozen oyster, tuna tacos, clam chowder, calamari, mussels in tomato sauce with chorizo, crab beignets, lobster ravioli, and Chilean sea bass. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake and red velvets cheesecake. For drinks, we had a bottle of champagne and a Manhattan (which was the BEST Manhattan I’ve ever had! 😍) The food was EXQUISITE, so fresh, and brought out right on time. Our server, Matias, was friendly, welcoming and simply amazing! Would recommend this place to anyone and EVERYONE!
Amazing restaurant with fantastic food and great service. The atmosphere was classy. Loved the music that they were playing!
Everything was outstanding. Our server, Cherry, was incredibly attentive. We showed up in extremely casual clothes on New Year’s Eve-(we were on an 18 day multi city adventure with no plans to attend anything formal) and they kindly sat us in back. We were thrilled to be in the quiet. We had the calamari to start, then bolognese, scallops, shrimp and fish, and lobster ravioli. The cod with the shrimp and fish was divine. The scallops were good, the bolognese was good as well. I really liked the lobster ravioli. But the star of the show was the calamari-we eat calamari all over the world and this was only second to a place in Encinitas, California. The ambiance was amazing in that it was sophisticated and decorated so elegantly. Overall, a great experience!
The oysters were amazing! So delicious & fresh tasting. The chicken was also surprisingly good as well. Not dry or lacking flavor. Chowder was outstanding lots of clam in every bite. The risotto & scallops were chefs kiss! Definitely check this place out for the $1 oyster happy hour (which I missed) as of this review it’s daily from 2-5pm I believe.
Our waitress was so kind and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the muscles and the steak! Will definitely come back (And they gave us a free dessert for a birthday look how cute!!)
Food: As an oyster lover, I've been here a few times now for the $1 oyster happy hour. These are the BEST raw oysters I have ever had! Delicious, fresh, and the mignonette is incredible. I also split the roasted mushroom pizza with a friend which was also delicious. Service: Both times I went, our servers were kind and accommodating, checking in to see if we needed anything. Atmosphere: We sat outside the first time we came here at the on-street seating, and it was very cute! The second time was in December, and their inside Christmas decor is beautiful. Elegant yet it still feels cozy!
Excellent ambiance for intimate conversation with a sweet heart or fun times with friends. Fresh oysters and tender wagyu burger. So yummy!
This place knows how to do it. A fantastic experience start to finish, make time on your trip to find your way here for happy hour and $1 oysters. Tony the bartender is exceptional and he can talk bourbon with the best of them!! 5 stars
A wonderful place to chill and have a great meal. We came as walk-ins at 16:00 but were seated immediately. We had the oysters (terrific, though a little pricey at $4 apiece), tuna sahimi, excellently prepared and presented. Tried the octopus, which we found "rubbery" but was replaced with aploligies immediately with a fantastic ceviche. Service was fantastic and attentive, the amvience high-class but inviting. A wonderful experience!
Beautiful restaurant, great vibe, would definitely come back again. Manager went above and beyond for friends bday. We asked for a drink they weren’t use to and not on the menu.. the manager actually googled it and the bartender made it spectacularly. The appetizers are absolutely delicious… we ate them so fast I didn’t get to get pictures. I think we tried them all lol…however my Chilean sea bass kinda fell short, I would not order that again, it needs more seasoning and lacks the crispy skin I’m use to from fine dining spots. My friend got the burger and he loved it… so still 5 🌟 from me despite the sea bass
A hidden gem. Nestled inside the Hilton, this is a great, yet overlooked spot. I would recommend for lunch more than dinner, as the bar gets crowded at night some days. Had their burger, very tender, great flavor, prepared perfectly. The winner was the chocolate mousse: one of the best I’ve had. It’s a bit pricey though, so keep in mind.
Visiting from Colorado… daughter brought us for dinner. Great trendy environment. Great food and service. The Clam Chowder was amazing!
Great place, very well decorated. Even though it is in a touristic area, the food is very delicious. The employees are very friendly. For dinner we ordered Salmon and scallops with risotto, both were delicious. We ordered salmon tartare as an appetizer, it was delicious but small in portion. The next day you went for happy hour and we ordered some really good oysters for $1. Very good deal!!
What a great spot! The staff are so nice, Ana and Stephanie were behind the bar. From the moment I sat at the bar, their energy lit up the whole place — super friendly, attentive, and making everyone feel welcome. You can tell they genuinely loves what they do. And let’s talk about Ana’s espresso martini… hands down one of the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly balanced, smooth, and beautifully presented. They really elevated the whole experience, turning a simple night out into an whole experience.
Fin Point Oyster Bar + Grille is a solid spot for fresh seafood and classic New England flavors. The oysters are top quality—cold, clean, and perfectly shucked—and the lobster roll is generous and lightly dressed, just the way it should be. The seared scallops and clam chowder are also standouts, rich and full of flavor without being too heavy. The cocktails are crisp and well-balanced, and the service is attentive without feeling rushed. The space has a polished yet relaxed vibe, making it great for both a casual lunch or a nice dinner out. A reliable choice for seafood done right in the heart of Boston.
Fit Point Boston offers a unique and outstanding experience. The food is super delicious, "especially the burger." The atmosphere is super welcoming, and above all, Elias's attention and kindness are outstanding. He's always attentive to everything we need. There's truly a great team that makes us feel very comfortable and confident.
I travel to Boston regularly for work and I’m originally from the South, so I’ll admit — sometimes you wonder what kind of hospitality you’re going to receive (without wanting to carry any bias). Stephanie and Anna completely exceeded every expectation. From the moment I sat at the bar, they were warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They walked me through appetizers on one visit, helped me decide on dessert another night, and everything I ordered was delicious. But what really stood out wasn’t just the food — it was the experience. They introduced me to other patrons, sparked great conversations, and created that rare feeling of genuine connection. Finding that kind of warmth and community while traveling for work isn’t always easy, and it absolutely deserves to be recognized. I’ve now been three times. I typically rotate hotels when I’m in Boston just to try new places, but because of the consistently high-quality service — not just at the hotel, but especially at the restaurant and bar — I’ll be prioritizing staying here moving forward. Stephanie and Anna go above and beyond, and it shows. Thank you both for the hospitality. I’ll definitely be back.
Went in looking for a good place to sit down and have a nice warm meal. That was exactly what I got, plus some great conversation with the two bartenders Owen and Sebastian. Owen recommended “The Chicken” as his personal favorite. I have never devoured such a delicious plate of food so fast. If you are in town for just the night at the hotel or are a Bostonian, Fin Point will exceed any expectations.
Came in for martini and dessert after dinner. The bartenders were helpful and recommended the lemon cheesecake. It was outstanding, light and not too sweet. Expresso Martini by lady bartender was awesome and I've had more than couple over 40 years. So good, we came back next night. Wish we had dinner as our choice in north end was not good.
We were looking for a happy hour oyster restaurant. We stumbled upon Fin Point. The deal is good, it’s $1 per oyster and they cap you at 12 maximum each. The oysters are good and service was good as well.
Perched inside the Dagny hotel in the Financial District, Fin Point Oyster Bar offers an urban retreat with decent seafood. I recently took a visit on a Thursday afternoon during their oyster happy hour and got a dozen oysters. These were not your typical New England oysters known for their high salinity; instead, they leaned towards a creamier and sweeter profile. However, the accompanying vinaigrette sauce was disappointing as its overpowering acidity overshadowed the oyster’s natural charm. Served atop a toasted crostini, the salmon tartare was also solid. Portion was quite small, but I liked the soft yet crispy crostini which added a much-needed texture to the salmon. The lemon creme fraiche, roe, and fried capers were pleasant additions, though they didn't elevate the dish. Overall, the food at Fin Point was exactly what I expected from a 4 star hotel restaurant: good, reliable, but not quite reaching the level of Boston’s more renowned seafood spots. It's a solid choice for those seeking a casual oyster and drink experience if you’re coming in during their happy hour.
Beautiful restaurant with a very romantic ambience. Perfect for a date night! I ordered the Baked Chicken and my date had the halibut. Both were cooked extremely well and delicious. For an appetizer we had the clam chowder wich was also very delicious. Accroding to the server, the menu changes 4 times a year. The website does not have a live menu and the food pictures on the website might not be available.
Great food. Happy Hour oysters for $1. We went for dinner and really enjoyed everything we tried. My husband also ordered an extra order of 2 colossal shrimp and 2 oysters that never came. One of the flakeiest wait staffs ever. Never brought the second set but needed to ask her manager about it? Then when it finally came they did offer to pay for it but we insisted on paying as it seemed based on having to get a manager the waitress was not taking accountability for missing the item and we did not want anyone to think we were trying to get away with anything. The manager later apologized with comping our dessert.
Partaking in a slightly later lunch, my friend and I made our way to Fin Point Oyster Bar during happy hour. She was thrilled because they offered $1 oysters during happy hour; so she ordered a dozen and devoured them. I am not an oyster girl so I just opted for a Caesar salad with some grilled shrimp. The salad was tasty and the shrimp were succulent and juicy. For a happy hour spot, especially if you like oysters, I would definitely recommend this place. If you don’t like oysters, like me, the salad was tasty and the shrimp were as well.
I'd not heard of Fin Point before, likely because I don't frequent the financial district much, but it was very solid for a Sunday morning brunch. We ordered a dozen Duxbury oysters, the tuna tacos, and the beet salad, plus two drinks and coffee. Everything was solid and very fresh-tasting. Great oysters as usual for Duxbury, and the salad was well dressed and paired with meaty pecans and toasty croutons. The tacos were good—crunchy shell, which was surprising to me—but it actually accompanied the softness of the raw tuna well. Total came out to be ~$50 per person; we were comfortably full but not stuffed by any stretch of the imagination. Service was fine; fast and friendly. They have a decent stretch of patio outside.
I love the atmosphere and and amazing service. Food wasn’t taste at all. Atmosphere was such a calm and elegant vibe, definitely set the mood Service was exceptional and very accommodating Calamari didn’t have any flavor at all. Chicken dinner was okay
We ordered the seafood tower, which was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The oysters, in particular, were outstanding. Unfortunately, the only drawback of our evening was our server, Karim. His attitude came across as quite condescending—especially after we mentioned that we do not drink alcohol, as we are sober. We also had difficulty understanding him throughout the service. Karim was noticeably unprofessional and inattentive, and we even observed him using his cellphone in the restaurant between courses. Overall, it resulted in a mixed experience despite the excellent food.
Wagyu Burger was so greasy you could drink it, Calamari salty as ever, Clam Chowder Flavorless, Tuna Tacos are passing, the only thing pretty good was Oysters. Their saving grace was an awesome bartender on NYE from Rhode Island. She's very good at connecting with customers, even on a busy night. I asked her for a Green Tea shot as a drink, she said she didn't have peach schnapps but would do her best, and it came out even better than what I was used to. So we each ordered 4 of them. Make her your bar manager if she isn't already!!!
Brunch outside was a great start. However - there was almost no one and yet it took about 10 minutes for our drinks to come and another 15 minutes for our appetizers (oysters and tuna taco) and then another 20 minutes for our entrees (burger and lobster roll). The food was okay- the best by far was the tuna taco - 3 tacos were very crunchy, fried shell with tuna & avocado filling. Oysters were fine but the mignonette sauce has like 10 pieces of shallots and they only gave us one lemon. The burger had an odd after taste and the lobster roll was fine but for $58-definitely not worth it. The mimosa was pretty good. Overall - service very slow + overpriced food = not a recommendation.
For the pierce the food is just meh. Bacon was over cooked and super sweet. The potatoes were dry and even the ketchup in the cup was so hard from sitting out for who knows how long. Spent 55 dollars for a breakfast that is less than a Waffle House. Not fresh at all. Service was good and that was all that was good here.
What happened to this place? We popped in for dinner like we’ve done many times before but this time wow, it was so disappointing! I ordered the scallops — there were four tiny, over salted scallops sitting in a gelatinous, cheesy mess that was lukewarm. My wife ordered the Greek salad with salmon and the salad was scant and had almost no feta cheese — a Greek salad with no feta! When the waiter asked if we enjoyed our barely eaten meals, we said no. He shrugged and brought us a dessert menu — we did not order dessert! Then the waiter brought us the full bill which was nearly $70 for food we barely touched and said we did not enjoy. We will never be back.
This was the most disappointing meal we’ve had during our time here in Boston. Not only was the food overpriced for the quality, there was also no service to speak of. It’s hard to believe that this place was so highly rated and I really wish we didn’t spend our anniversary meal here. We came for a special occasion and were seated on the patio as per our reservation. Our server never introduced herself, nor did she come attend to us until a very long wait. Never checked up on us and only left us with the bill (very rudely) without ever coming back even though we asked for the machine. We each ordered a dozen of the buck a shuck, which did not taste fresh at all and I had to send it back. I ended up getting food poisoning after this meal. We also ordered an espresso martini and a glass of chardonnay, which we barely touched due to the poor flavour profiles they each offered. The only redeeming dish was the flatbread, which was hearty and filling. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was such a horrible experience. I wish we got to experience all that people rave about for Fin Point.
Extremely disappointed despite the positive reviews. As a young couple, I felt that we were being profiled heavily as not being ‘tipping customers’ and our service was extremely poor because of it. Food coming extremely late, impatient remarks from our waiter, and overall a very unpleasant experience for Valentines Day dinner. Our table was wobbly as well and the atmosphere was nowhere near worth the price. Extremely disappointed and will not be recommending this spot to any friends.
