Tastefully appointed boutique spa hotel in the heart of downtown Boulder. Close to fine dining, shopping, and the Boulder Creek Trail. Staff were all courteous and accompanying. Great lounge/bar with lively entertainment on Friday night. Brunch at Jill was delicious with hearty portions and prompt service. The perfect destination for a ladies weekend!

Came here for a work meeting and the rooms, service and amenities were awesome. My favorite part was the pool and hot tub. However the pool was not completely accessible as it was difficult to get in and out with the limitations I have. The hot tub was amazing and was more accessible. I loved the bed and the pillows. There was quite a bit of noise with a rude guest in the middle of the night, but that was no fault of the hotel.

Exceptional experience! The rooms were nice, the service was extremely professional, and the spa was a real treat! Great access to Pearl Street mall and all the related restaurants and shopping. The valet was very accommodating and friendly!

I finally found my hair stylist guru at the st. Julien spa, Travis Tanner does exceptional work. He worked with me several times to dial in my wedding hair look. He was extremely helpful, guiding me in sourcing the right quality hair extensions, setting and styling them in my hair so i could get used to wearing them before my wedding day. He was so knowledgeable, patient and sweet through this whole process. Highly recommend him for a color, cut, style, you name it and generally just as a high quality human being.

Best place to stay in Boulder, the concierge’s Michelle is amazing! One request is, I wish they got new beds at some point, best Choice while visiting the university or just the great city right off of Pearl Street.

Best hotel I’ve ever visited! Mountain View room was gorgeous & comfortable; bathroom was well laid out with a lighted vanity mirror. Didn’t have a chance to use the deep soaking bathtub but the shower was spacious for the size of the room. The bath/spa products were exceptional! Luxurious robes & slippers provided also! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay & look forward to returning!

St Julien Hotel & Spa is an absolute gem in the heart of Boulder! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and attended to every detail with warmth and professionalism. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered breathtaking views of the Flatirons. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were top-notch. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps away from Pearl Street Mall, making it easy to explore local shops and restaurants. We indulged in a spa treatment, which was one of the best we’ve ever experienced; the facilities are serene and well-maintained. Dining at Jill’s Restaurant was a delight, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a cozy ambiance. Every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. Whether you’re visiting for relaxation or adventure, St Julien offers the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. We can’t wait to return!

I have had the most amazing stay at the St. Julien. The rooms are huge, with a soaking tub and separate shower. The signature sent of all of their products is mint, which feels so refreshing. You are provided with a complimentary robe and pair of slippers. The staff are all wonderful people. The spa is a little sparce as far a amenities go, just a pool, dry sauna, and hot tub (out of order when I stayed) but if you're getting a service you won't be disappointed. 10/10 would stay again, though downtown Boulder has the same issues any big city would.

Perfectly located, walkable to all the best restaurants in boulder. Rooms are clean and have a nice Colorado alpine aesthetic to them. The pool and hot tub are great. Staff is very friendly and willing to do whatever they can to make your stay better.

Our wedding at the St Julien hotel was truly perfect. We found it to be the most beautiful venue, with incredible mountain views, and was extremely comfortable for all our guests. Most of our guests were traveling to Colorado for our wedding, so we found the St Julien hotel to be the perfect convenient location for our guests coming in from out of town to experience the beauty of the Colorado mountains while not needing to drive far from the airport. Plus, it is in the heart of downtown Boulder conveniently surrounded by the best restaurants, shops, and fun things to do within walking distance. All of our guests who stayed at the hotel loved it and raved about how the hospitality and staff at the St Julien went above and beyond to make sure their stay was perfect. The venue itself is stunning, but the food is also amazing. We had a 190 person wedding and each dish was delicious, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the food was all served fresh. We got married in early October - we had our ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour outside on the patios, and dinner on the lawn. It was a dream outdoor setting and picture perfect. Our reception/dancing was in their ballroom. All of the logistics went flawlessly thanks to the St Julien team. The St Julien team really made it so we did not have one worry during our wedding weekend. Every guest was taken care of and every question or concern we had was handled efficiently. Every single staff member we interacted with - on our wedding weekend and any other time we stopped by - was nice, helpful, and happy to see us. Morgan, their social catering & sales manager, did an incredible job from our first tour, tasting, planning, wedding weekend, to making sure we got our leftover wedding cake. Look no further and book your wedding at the St Julien hotel, we cannot recommend it enough!

I can’t remember the last time I slept that well. The mattress, pillow, sheets, blackout curtain, room temp… just a trifecta of slumber perfection. The room (and entire hotel) were absolutely spotless, every single person I interacted with was amazing, and the amenities on site (restaurant, spa, gift shop, outdoor areas) were A+. Special shout out to certified rock star Jason with their in-house AV team — he was an asset to making sure our event went so well. The location is also stellar, as you’re a very short walk to Pearl Street, the Boulder Bookstore (thank me later), and all the charm of downtown Boulder. Oh! And the bamboo room key with the (I presume) RFID chip inside was ::chef’s kiss::

I was in town for a conference at a hotel in Westminster -I arrived late and the hotel I was originally supposed to stay at was fully booked and couldn’t physically open the door to my room. As a result, I called the St Julien at 2 am asking if they had availability after waiting for 2 hrs to have this other hotel to find a solution. The St. Julien welcomed me warmly when I arrived at 2:30 am, made me feel taken care, and made my stay exceptionally comfortable. Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail turned my work trip around for the better. My room was so comfortable too! I was born and raised in Boulder and always heard good things about the St Julien but they are exceptional in a world of mostly forgotten hospitality.

An absolutely beautiful and magical place for my husband and I - no kids allowed for us!! Come during the summer when there are fewer CU hooligans and Boulder is wonderful. Great new places to shop nearby, incredible food from so many cultures, and amazing instagram-worthy hikes so close.

What a wonderful surprise to find a fabulous hair stylist Travis at the hotel’s spa. Travis explained his services, listened to me and offered his advice as well. Excellent haircut and color correction! Highly recommend!

Stayed for the first time in this beautiful hotel right before Christmas and I highly recommend! We have attended various special events throughout the year like their Derby party and Oktoberfest, live music nights etc., but this was the first time we actually stayed the night. We had a wonderful spacious king room with a balcony that had an amazing view and lots of space inside for us and the kiddo to hang out and unwind. LOVED the big tub in the bathroom as well. All of the staff we encountered were extremely kind from valet, to check in, the restaurant, bar, and room service. We ate at Jill’s for dinner and the food and service was incredible. The next morning we had in room dining for breakfast and service was super fast and food was hot and delicious. It was so great to get a nice and relaxing evening in before the busy holiday. Will definitely be back again in the future and hope to try out the spa next. Love this gem in Boulder!

Although I have not officially stated as a guest, I have worked with the staff on some renovations of rooms and they are all very professional and have extreme care and consideration of their guests. From the front desk to the back of the house and engineering team, you would not meet a better group of people that crave a quality experience for their guests. If you are in the Boulder area and need a nice place to stay. This hotel will not disappoint.

Spa services review. 80 minute massage from Sean was THE BEST spa massage I've ever had. I'm a massage therapist myself and aren't easily impressed. Sean impressed me. He 's highly skilled, intuitive and has that intangible "it" that makes a person extra special at what they do. I wanted to come back the next day, and have never experienced that in 40 years of receiving massage. The spa itself is really fabulous too. Highly recommend.

I can only comment on the salsa event that I went to a little while ago. It was so fabulous! There’s plenty of room for people to come in, sit down and have an appetizer or a meal. So, a very welcoming space that spilled over into a wonderful outdoor salsa event. I had so much fun and I look forward to going back.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the St Julian and I wanted to take a moment to highlight one staff member who truly made my experience unforgettable – Brandon W. From the moment I arrived, Brandon greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, immediately making my family feel welcome and at ease. His professionalism and attention to detail were evident in every interaction. Brandon went above and beyond to ensure my stay was seamless and enjoyable. His knowledge of the hotel’s amenities and the surrounding area was incredibly helpful! What stood out the most was his kindness and positive attitude, which truly made a difference in my experience. It's rare to encounter someone so dedicated to providing excellent service, and Brandon’s enthusiasm and passion for his work shone through every time we spoke. Thank you, Brandon, for making my stay so memorable!

Rooms are nice and hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. This is probably one of the nicest places to stay in Boulder. Areas that could improve the experience would be keeping the bar open later than 10:30pm and offering the lobby coffee service every day.

We stayed here for our five year wedding anniversary, and it was amazing to say the least! The service was phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It truly made us feel so special. The food and drinks at the restaurant were great. And - the room! Such a cozy space with amazing views of the Flatirons. Everything made for an absolutely perfect anniversary trip. If you have a special occasion, this is the place for you! St. Julien you have my heart!

A wonderful luxury hotel experience - including exceptional service from amazing staff members. From Hannah at the bellhop desk to Denise and Emma at the T-Zero lobby bar - everywhere you go in the hotel you’ll find friendly, super-helpful staff members willing to go the extra mile ensuring your experience is a very memorable one. Outstanding hotel & highly recommended.

The hotel was a great one night get away, walkable to restaurants and shops, comfortable rooms and amenities. I had a facial at the spa with Michelle who was fantastic and would highly recommend visiting the spa! One of my favorite spa experiences so far in Colorado!

We travel a lot and usually stay at nice hotels, but our recent stay at the St. Julien in Boulder was truly exceptional. The location is hard to beat and the overall feel of the hotel is spot on. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, and had some of the best bedding we’ve experienced. Even the toiletries were a nice surprise. Dining at the hotel was another highlight. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with food that was beautifully prepared and service to match. What set the St. Julien apart most, though, was the staff. Every person we interacted with — from the reception desk to the restaurant team — was friendly, professional, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. It gave the hotel a warmth that’s rare even in luxury properties.

My favorite hotel in Boulder! Location is unbeatable, the crowd in the lobby is pleasant and they typically have live music on weekends. The martinis are good and just feels like a lively place. The amenities are nice with the hot tub and lap pool. You can get drink service to the pool area and the bathrobes are comfortable. Best OG places to stay in Boulder!

I stayed her about 10 years ago for a short trip. Beautiful place excellent service. Came online to check it out again because the sound in the shower sounded like I was in a waterfall. Very fine memory of my stay. Will stop again when in town.

We stay at St. Julien's every year for our anniversary. It's a great location for shopping and restaurants on Pearl Street but still on the edge of town so has amazing views of the Flatirons. Convenient parking garage. We have not tried the spa services yet as they book far in advance and we can never seem to remember to call ahead, but it looks very nice!

I rarely leave reviews, but my massage with Tatro was so above and beyond that I feel compelled to share my experience. My husband and I came into the St. Julien for massages during the Boulder power outages, which had been a very stressful experience for us. Tatro not only gave me an amazing massage, but she went the extra mile. She's an incredible listener and a genuinely kind person. The St. Julien is lucky to have her, and I'm excited to recommend her to all of my friends.

Was just there for my neice's wedding. The staff was very professional and they catered to people with dietary restrictions. The ballroom looked beautiful and we had glorious weather for the outdoor ceremony.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! We were in Colorado on our honeymoon and unfortunately had a horrible experience at an Airbnb that forced us to leave. We found this hotel online, walked in to check it out, and were immediately welcomed at the front desk. AD and Amber were absolutely INCREDIBLE—so kind, helpful, and empathetic about our situation. They even arranged an early check-in and upgraded our room, which meant so much to us. Beyond the amazing staff, the hotel itself was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and everyone we encountered was so friendly. The location is perfect too—just steps from Pearl Street with easy access to great restaurants and shops. Truly one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had, and we’re so grateful we ended up here during such a special trip. Highly, highly recommend!

I had a wonderful 5 night stay at St Julien. The front desk, valet, housekeeping and in room dining service staff were all absolutely wonderful! So nice, so appreciate and so deserving. The hotel is beautiful. The location is absolutely perfect. The rooms are well appointed and well stocked with towels, toiletries, robes, waters and anything else that you might need, which is always so appreciated! Turndown service was a pleasant surprise and the little cookies are delicious! The food from Jill's for in room dining was delicious day to day. The Kale and goat cheese salad (add the shrimp) was delicious! I did have one spa service and this was the only area of the hotel that I wouldn't rate a 5. I would, for sure, stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

We stayed at St. Julien for a friend’s wedding a few weekends ago and was blown away by the customer service! The front desk team, Jessica, Noah, and Amber, were quick to help our group with last minute requests and made getting ready for the wedding so much more enjoyable :) I also want to give a shout out to the catering team, Kirbi, Amanda, Isaiah, Gina, and Liz for keeping the wedding running smoothly! We overall had a great experience and can’t wait to go back!

We're heading back out to Boulder to 'help' our daughter move into her college apartment for the fall, but the real reason for going is really to get to spend a few night at the St Julian. We stayed there several time during her first year at CU, and we love our little luxury vacations in Boulder. St Julian is fun, clean, friendly, and right in the middle of it all. The rooms as spacious with amazing views, the food and drinks (and entertainment) are great quality, and of course having the spa right there is a big bonus. Staying at the St Julian has made the transition of having our daughter attend CU far away from home a treat for us all - we feel welcome and comfortable.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a fantastic boutique hotel right in the heart of Boulder, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the valet check-in process was seamless and impressive—quick, efficient, and handled with a warm smile. The staff throughout the hotel were some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered, always eager to assist and genuinely welcoming. The hotel itself is a modern gem, with a clean and stylish design that feels both fresh and inviting. My room was impeccably well-appointed, featuring thoughtful touches and high-quality furnishings that made it a true retreat. The standout, though, was the shower—absolutely amazing, with fantastic water pressure and luxurious amenities that turned a simple shower into a spa-like experience. The attention to detail in the toiletries and other in-room perks didn’t go unnoticed either; everything felt curated and top-notch. Being in the center of Boulder, the location couldn’t have been better—walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the vibrant energy of the city. Despite its prime spot, the hotel maintained a peaceful, boutique vibe that made it feel like a hidden oasis. If you’re looking for a clean, modern stay with exceptional service and all the right amenities, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

This hotel is wonderful. The staff are kind and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully themed and decorated with a luxury mountain theme with many extras and amenities. My bed was very comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job. I love the little cookie they put on your bed during turn down service! The patio had live music every night, and the ambiance is delightful. It's quite a happening place in the evenings. The hot tub in the spa was private and refreshing. The hotel room had a soaker tub, and the water pressure was strong. The view of the mountains from my room was amazing. Everything about this hotel was five stars. Highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the St Julien for a staycation birthday night with some friends. The room was spacious and well appointed. Plenty of room for all of us. With beautiful views of the mountains and easy access to everything downtown Boulder has to offer. We ordered room service and the food was delicious and the staff who delivered the food was friendly and helpful. Michelle the concierge was very sweet and left a little birthday note in the room. All in all would highly recommend!

We had our wedding here this past summer, and the STJ was absolutely incredible to work with. I’ve heard plenty of stories about wedding venues being rigid or hard to coordinate with, but STJ was the complete opposite — nothing but accommodating from start to finish. From the very beginning, we felt taken care of. The food tasting was so much fun — and so generous! We had more than enough delicious food and desserts to share with friends all weekend. Meeting the head chef and baker was such a special touch, and they truly delivered on the big day. From the hors d'oeuvres to dinner to dessert, everything was outstanding. We’re still getting compliments from our guests on the food, the cake, and the entire experience. The day of the wedding, the banquet team went above and beyond. The cake wasn’t just delicious — it was beautiful. The location itself is unbeatable, and Boulder made the whole weekend unforgettable. STJ even helped us with last-minute details, like coordinating shuttle service for our rehearsal dinner, which made everything seamless for us and our guests. Kirby, our coordinator, was an absolute dream to work with — easygoing, responsive, and incredibly organized. No question ever went unanswered for long, and she made managing our room block a breeze. Our guests loved their stays, and it meant so much to know everyone was comfortable. We also want to give a special shoutout to Morgan, who helped us get started with our planning and booking process. Even though she has since moved on to another role, the transition to working with Kirby was seamless, and we never had to worry about a thing. Truly, we can’t thank the STJ team enough for making not only our wedding day but the entire weekend something we’ll never forget. To everyone who helped turn our dream into reality — thank you for everything. It was perfect from start to finish!

Love the SJ! I'm fortunate to visit twice a year and have been coming back for years now. The rooms are well appointed with excellent extras (pillows to bath salts) and the staff from valet to front desk do their best to ensure your stay is memorable. The lobby happy hour is bustling, especially if you are lucky enough to visit during a CU Buffs away game. The excellent spa is renowned in Boulder and the indoor heated pool is a personal fave during winter. While the SJ ranks to the top of Boulder accommodations it still misses on a tiny touch or two that can easily be remedied with minimal effort: Coffee, while offered in the rooms by machine, isn't available until the restaurant opens at 7:00. On the weekends guests can help themselves to a drip provided in the lobby but also not until 7:00. For business travelers or early risers and those coming in from a run, this is late, and we have to leave the hotel to venture a few blocks to find coffee. It's actually been discussion in the lobby on nearly every trip I take as guests sip external coffee together and comment to each other. This has never changed, and management should strongly consider that nearly every other boulder hotel (Bradley, Boulderado, Embassy, Hilton, and now the new Moxy) serve coffee at 6 or 6:30 everyday. The big Coffee issue aside, SJ's restaurant Jills is excellent, having had many many meals from breakfast to dinner. The T-Zero bar is special and it's beautiful agate bar glows in the evening. And finally special mention to the excellent Concierge Catherine, a long time St J professional who went out of her way to return my lost drivers license on a recent trip. Though I missed her on this trip I still walk past that desk with gratitude for the hours she saved me by safely returning my license.

The St. Julien's lobby is a welcoming, putting you at ease with its elegant yet comfortable ambiance. The fireplace provides a cozy focal point, perfect for unwinding. Their espresso is expertly crafted, a delightful pick-me-up, while the espresso martini is a fantastic evening indulgence. Whether enjoying a casual bite or a full meal, the food, impresses with its fresh, flavorful ingredients and refined presentation. A truly enjoyable experience from arrival to departure. Not sure when but on certain evening there is live music. One down side, parking can be expensive.

Great hotel, awesome location, will stay here again. I have one beef and yeah it’s a first world kinda problem. If you’re gonna charge me this kind of price put a bunch of free coffee out in the morning starting at 5:30am. And if you don’t do that, at least upgrade the coffee in the restaurant because it’s bad. IDC if it’s fair trade and whatever other label you need for coffee, change the bean.

My daughter and I went for facials. The facials were great. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub areas. For the price of the services it seemed to be lacking some amenities in the locker rooms. Over all the locker rooms and the spa waiting area felt a little tired. High end luxury prices but didn’t feel like a high end luxury experience.

T
T B

My friend and I recently decided to stay overnight and enjoy the amenities, including dinner at Jill’s Restaurant and spa services. We began with dinner, and the food at Jill’s was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the tater tots, and the espresso martini was exceptional. However, we did experience a lapse in service, as our waiter brought out the Burrata despite us clearly stating we did not wish to order it. This occurred twice, which was somewhat frustrating, but overall, the food and drinks were impressive. Our room was spacious and comfortable, though the decor felt outdated. The view was satisfactory, and while not remarkable, the room met our needs for a pleasant stay. The pool area, while attractive and featuring an excellent hot tub, lacked sufficient seating, which could be improved. Unfortunately, the spa experience did not meet our expectations. For the premium price point, we found the amenities underwhelming. The locker rooms, for instance, felt more akin to those in a gym rather than a luxury spa, offering basic supplies and lacking items like facial moisturizer and quality razors. The relaxation room also felt outdated and did not provide the elevated ambiance we anticipated. While the staff delivering the facial and massage services were wonderful and professional, the treatments themselves fell short. The facial felt overly simplistic and left my skin feeling less than refreshed in the days following, while the massage, though well-executed, did not feel worth the high price. Given the $750 cost for a spa day, we expected a far more memorable and luxurious experience. Overall, the lack of attention to detail and overall excitement in the spa offerings left us disappointed. Most likely will never return.

We splurged for two massages on a Sunday evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The pool area was a mess, there was hair all over the shower area, the steam room was down for emergency repairs, and they were understaffed clearly. It is a big investment for this kind of experience.

St. Julien spa is past its prime My family is local to the area and have enjoyed the St. Julien and spa for approximately 18 years. This past weekend, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a staycation, including spa treatments. We were both extremely disappointed with the spa facilities and customer service, although the massages themselves were excellent. The Men’s spa was dirty, littered with prior guests cups and towels on the floor and benches. Apparently, the Women’s spa was the same. Upon check-in for our treatments, I waited more than 10 minutes for the male attendant Chris to take me back. He never arrived, with the desk attendant’s excuse that he was away searching for ice. I just went back myself to change. Chris never stopped me to apologize when I saw him later. For some bizarre reason, the owners purchased new waiting room seating inside the spa. This may be the worst I’ve ever experienced. Terrible, terrible, terrible. The waiting rooms at spas are typically relaxing in advance of or immediately following a treatment. The waiting area now looks like a banquet of tiny phone booths. I cannot imagine who thought this was a good idea to isolate people in tiny spaces. There can be no relaxing in this area due to the tiny width of seats and chair height on the sides. With many chairs, the seat height completely takes over the room and eliminates any ambience. I arrived first into the room first and sat down. When my wife arrived, she quickly commented that I looked stressed. Sure, it was due to the tiny seats. I’m 180 lbs and could barely fit in the seat, with high chair sides, which are taller than I am when seated (and I’m only 5’10”). The St. Julien spa is known for their steamroom, sauna, and eucalyptus mist spray. The steamroom was good while the sauna was only lukewarm and did not warm up after 10+ minutes. When showering, there was no eucalyptus shower mist pray in either shower - both were completely empty. This is something that is inexcusable to be low on shampoo, soap, etc.. Upon checkout, I shared this information with the desk attendant and was met with, 'oh sorry about that’. While it may sound douchy, the spray is something they are known for and proudly display and sell in the spa shop. In sum, we paid a premium for lesser service and a disappointing experience. If you are expecting to be wowed then you will be extremely disappointed. After 18 years, this will be our last visit to the St Julien. They just didn’t do much right here this trip.

Way over priced! 835 for a basic 2 Queen bed room, coffee cups were left dirty, some areas are showing old wear. After a night out we went into the hotel lobby bar. We asked A young man behind the bar if we could order a drink and he said “yeah the line is down there” pointed - very rudely when we finally got our cocktail had two sips of it a Manager looking guy in a suit, came right over to our table right in our face at 10 till midnight they were closing and we needed to “get out” and two more men Followed up right one after another before we even had a chance to grab our coats off the back of the chairs telling us to leave. We were just two ladies from Denver sitting there having a drink. We didn’t even have a chance to stand up before the next guy showed up. They were extremely rude and with all of that my friend left her very expensive leather jacket on the chair and the staff and hotel say it was not there. One of them had to have taken it because we were all kicked out. I do not recommend this place. The only thing it’s good for is convenience to Pearl Street. There are other new hotels opening up. Give them a try.

One of the guests placed a late night order for food, a cash on delivery order. I asked to use the ATM machine in the hotel to make change for the guest. Night reception informed me that the ATM is for guests only. I politely informed the guest that I could not use the ATM in the hotel to get change for their order and would go get change elsewhere. The guest was understanding, but decided to cancel their delivery. They; unfortunately, informed me that they won’t be using the hotel again in the future, 😬😕

Extremely disappointing and wildly overpriced. Paying $150 per person for St. Julien’s Christmas brunch felt like a complete joke. The Bloody Mary was watered down, barely drinkable, and certainly not what you expect at this price point. We were seated at a table with cheap, uncomfortable chairs and a numbered table system that felt more like a cafeteria than a luxury hotel holiday brunch. The buffet was the real letdown — seafood was still partially frozen, which is unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one charging this much. To top it off, coffee was served in paper cups, which completely cheapened the experience. For the price, we expected quality, attention to detail, and a festive, elevated experience. What we got was sloppy execution and poor value. This was nowhere near worth the cost, and I would not recommend it to anyone considering this as a holiday splurge.

As a Boulder resident for 16 years, and a long time patron of the St. Julien I am deeply disappointed by the experience I had tonight with cocktail waitress, Emma. It has been a holiday tradition for many years to enjoy appetizers and drinks by the beautiful tree. Emma provided poor service with a side of attitude. We were a group of 6 and asked for separate checks. She refused to split them up for us, despite the clearly awkward situation it was creating for us. It was obvious she could do it, and just didn't want to. I eventually handed her the bill and asserted that we needed it split up. She came back 3 minutes later with our checks split, and rolled her eyes after I said thank you, when she handed me my bill. I chose not to tip her. As my group and I were standing in a circle talking and saying goodbye, at the end of a lovely night together, Emma walks up, inserts herself into the group and confronts me saying "Excuse miss, you shorted me." I pointed out to her that I had in fact not, and that I chose not to tip her due to her attitude. She pointed to the gratuity amount that was automatically added to all bills, and I reasserted that tiping is optional. She responded 'If you'd like I can go get my manager and he can tell you how we do things around here." (!!!) At this point my friends are digging through their wallets for the TWO dollar tip she was demanding. She took her coerced money and walked away. It was profoundly inappropriate. Sadly, this was the most appalling experience I have ever had with a waiter. I'm in shock. And it saddens me that it happened at the St Julien.
