If you're in Nederland, CO, you absolutely have to stop by the Covered Wagon Restaurant and Saloon! Hands down, the best bartender in town is Amy—she made our entire experience so memorable with her friendly service and great recommendations. We were so impressed with the food that we came back the very next day to enjoy it again. The atmosphere was cozy, and the overall experience was fantastic. If you’re looking for great food and amazing service, this is the place to be! Amy definitely made our visit unforgettable!

absolutely loved this place. it all started with the awesome man who was serving us that day. he was super nice and chill. especially for a small town, sometimes you get the evil eyes from locals. not here. food was HOTT. i had the green chili soup which was homemade. very much enjoyed playing the jubebox for a few songs. they have a pool table too which was sick.

Found my new favorite beer here! Friendly people, comfortable atmosphere and good food. Julia is the best. Even my dog Ranger was welcomed.

What a find! Super clean, great food and nice people! True western charm. Highly recommend the beef burrito with the red chili sauce. The salad was fresh and topped with a roasted jalapeño (I thought it was a gherkin 😂 surprise!). Oh! And real homemade Apple strudel. Thanks Jose for the great drinks and service! PS - the fresh wildflowers on the table did not go unnoticed - a nice touch showing that someone cares! 👍🏼

My stepson and his father are at this restaurant a couple years ago and ranted about the food and the service and suggested that my wife and I stop there for lunch during one our frequent trips from Las Vegas to Loveland due to my daughter’s health issues we finally did it this past weekend. Although it added a few miles and time to our travel, it was well worth it. The food was outstanding, the service was great, and the overall atmosphere was like going back in time. The entire experience was so relaxing. The entire staff made us feel like we were regulars and not just tourists. This will definitely be a regular stop on our future trips to Loveland.

Stop in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Small traditional menu for breakfast. Was exceptional. Large portions. Bacon was fantastic, scrambled eggs yum! Thick toast!! Traditional breakfast reminds me of breakfast at grandma's.

We came in on NYD for breakfast. From the moment we stepped through the door everything was wonderful and we knew we were in for a treat. I hope I’m getting her name right ….. Coriander was behind the bar and served us. She was so kind and inviting. She shared local history with us and even shared a book. The food was excellent and extremely reasonably priced. What a great way to start our day and year! Thank you covered wagon! 💖🙏🏻💖🙏🏻💖🙏🏻

We’re locals and this was our first time here. Reuben is delicious, plenty of meat! The Texas chili is also really good. Pretzel bites were a great appetizer. Service was a little slow but only because there was only one waitress and it was busy. Our food came out promptly after we ordered and was piping hot. If you are looking for a cozy meal in the mountains give the Covered Wagon a try!

I came here with my girlfriend for a quick little bite to eat around 6pm on a Monday. Atmosphere is more saloon than restaurant, but don't underestimate their kitchen and menu. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in, to when we left. Clean place for a saloon restaurant. My girlfriend ordered the meatball slider and sweet potato fries. The meatball slider was incredible. Cooked perfectly, and very fresh tasting. The sweet potato fries were also cooked perfectly, and both items were hot and fresh. I ordered the Texas Red Chili, and a side salad with ranch dressing. The chili was very good, topped with cheese, onion, and a roasted pepper. Delicious. The side salad was basic, but good, with the dressing on the side which is a plus, and it was good ranch dressing. All in all a very good experience, we will be returning!

We always eat here when we're in Nederland. We like it because there is less oil and fat in the food and there are plenty of vegetable options. The fresh spring roll (not the fried type) is like a salad you can hold in your hand. The kids and adults all enjoy this place. The interior is not fancy, but in the summer there is an outdoor option. Service is always great.

I ordered online over the weekend and picked them up! When I picked them up, I found out that a Nepalese was the owner - we usually had Thai food at Golden, but it was a lot less greasy and less salty compared to where it was, so I really enjoyed it! I think I'll continue to visit often!

Everything from the food to the servers we're amazing! My girlfriend and I both ordered Pad Thai. She got beef, and I got chicken. Very good! The Chai Tea was amazing, too! Definitely would recommend to anyone traveling through here!

Amazing food on a cold night. It is good spicy for me. I eat extreme spicy food and they had perfect level for thai spicy food.We ordered chicken steamed momos (6pieces), Green Thai Curry, Chicken Pad thai, ginger tea.

High quality cuisine in a tiny town! Clean, cozy, and with a view of the mountains. Sipping hot Chai and sinking into the creamiest coconut red curry veggie bowl. I LOVE that the curries can be made vegan and without the traditional fish sauce. Lots of vegetable options for the plant based diners. Customer service was phenomenal! James ran the whole front of the restaurant by himself and was STILL attentive to every person who walked through the front door. Will definitely be visiting again and trying other vegetarian dishes on the menu! Thank you James for a wonderful , warm welcome into Nederland. Pics: veggie momo, country style curry veggie (no fish sauce), chai

Vegan options! Yummy food and quick service. Parking lot and bathrooms. Open for dining in. I had the Green Curry and mango sticky rice - both vegan (no dairy no fish sauce). Quiet place. Decent prices.

Wasn't sure how good a Thai restaurant would be in the rural mountains, but everything here tasted so incredibly fresh and was cooked to perfection, with their own little twist on each dish. They have gardens in the front of the restaurant growing peas, lettuce and all sorts of things which I'm certain we are, and they didn't even advertise that they are garden-to-table! The Thom Kha (coconut soup) was delicious and the Larb was light and fresh and cooked perfectly. My favorite thing? The 🥭 Mango Sticky rice 🥭 was absolutely the best I've ever had, and I am very particular about my rice. Just amazing, and they are so humble. Highly recommend!

Great Thai Food! Friendliest and most beautiful local service ever. Just such an amazing experience. Our server gave us suggestions for local shops and just made sure we were so well taken care of. The food was so delicious. I had a Thai curry that was just amazing!!!

Came in because it was close after a long day. The crowd inside was a bit strange. The food came out okay. My girlfriends burger was very dry, and our appetizer was forgotten, but it was fine.

Classic small-town spot with hearty food and a cozy, old-west vibe. The red chili was absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and the kind of dish you’d come back for. The French onion soup and garden salad was just okay, but everything else we saw coming out of the kitchen looked generous and satisfying. Friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere make it a nice stop if you’re in town and craving comfort food with character.

Generally good, but a little hit or miss... Get the Pad Mei (it's 5⭐), avoid the pad see yew (it's 1⭐)! I absolutely love their Pad Mei, it's flavorful, well seasoned, somehow doesn't feel too heavy, and it just all around delicious. They can make it vegan or make it with meats. My boyfriend I both agreed their Pad see yew/drunken noodles were nothing like what we expected.... It kind of tasted more like it was covered in a thick, syrupy, almost duck-sauce like concoction. We didn't even finish it, it was overly sweet and generally just kind of gross.

We were obviously there between the lunch and dinner crowd but still received good service and the food was excellent. Pictured here is the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, the two dishes we ordered. Yum!

Guess what, the saloon makes breakfast in the morning. Just keep in mind that there are probably no window in this place so you better be awaken when you there. They breakfast options are pretty standard and this is a welcomed addition since there are not that many options to eat in the morning.

Every main dish we ordered was extremely sweet, peanut sauce was strange, pad Thai noodles weren’t great texture-wise. I couldn’t finish my pad Thai noodles at all because they were so sweet and had to give them to my boyfriend that eats anything. However, given that it is a very small town our expectations had to be lower. Three stars for being the only Asian food in a large radius and because the prices are extremely reasonable plus good service

Small little restaurant with booths and tables. There was a little fireplace but it was not on when we were there. The pad see ew was good. The drunken noodles were on the sweeter side of the dishes, the noodles were under al dente. Prices were not bad for portions. That tea was good. The staff was friendly.

I ordered pad Thai with chicken and drunken noodles with chicken, medium spicy. Overall, the flavor is bold. Another review stated that it is overly sweet. Yes, but not to a point that is unacceptable. Spiciness on the drunken noodles is great. The chicken is very dry, but it's breast so I get it. The pad Thai is good, on the sweet side but not too bad. Overall, their flavor is very bold. However, I am giving this place 2 stars because both the noodle on the pad thai (thinner) and the drunken noodles (thicker) were very very very old and not fresh. Since we ordered to go, at first, I thought they just undercooked it a little so it can sit longer in food containers. The noodle was hard, so I ended up reheating in on stove. This is when I realized the noodle is very old because even after re-cooking it with some water, the noodles were still hard and has a gainey texture to it. I know it is old because I buy fresh pho noodles in Los Angeles from factory, and there was this one time I left the noodle for 4 weeks before I cook it in an sealed bag and refrigerated. That's exactly how it tasted, no matter how long you cook it, it has a hard and gainey texture to it. The old noodle on both dishes are not acceptable.

Ubon is a place in Thailand but we thought this place didn't have much to do with Thailand. In out view they are trying to pass as a Thai restaurant but they fall short. The taste is not authentic Thai and their ingredients are not fresh. The duck in one of the dishes was dry and too old. And what should have been Path grapaw was something strange with too much of a strange sauce. We would not recommed going here.

This is the first review I’ve left that hasn’t been positive or 5 stars. We had guests in town and were hopeful for a relaxing environment with good vibes, cold drinks and tasty food but this wasn’t the case. Our server was not approachable or friendly. She didn’t offer any chance to get more drinks or ask questions about the menu. I went to the bar to order our second round of drinks as we waited for our food, and the server chewed out the very friendly bartender that “tables need to wait for the server to get drinks”. I get this to an extent but I don’t think our server would’ve ever come back to our table, and we probably waited 45 minutes or more for our very basic food (most food was lukewarm and dry), so we were hoping to kill time. Our friend ordered sweet potato fries and got normal fries. I tried to address this to the server, and she just walked away. We were charged for the sweet potato fries anyways and never got them. I wouldn’t return honestly, and the only reason I’m writing this is to save you an odd experience out to eat. Especially if you have friends in town and are hopeful for something more special.

Ordered a burger the taste was beyond horrible. I got horribly sick. Ended up in and out of the hospital several times over the next two weeks. Couldn't eat anything for those two weeks and lost so much weight. I frequented this place for decades before ,everything went downhill after the new owner took over.

Grumpy waitress…are you ok? It was beyond the most horrible experience we have ever encountered in 40 plus years of eating out. Never got our food with zero apology, and still charged us for drinks. The place was fairly empty. The blonde bartender was super sweet though. I hope they treat her well. The place doesn’t seem to be run very well.

Pretty bad experience honestly. I came in with my friends and family as we waited for a table at the pizza place across the street, and I figured we could kill some time here at the pool tables. There was a woman who worked here that was over the top upset that our toddler was sitting near the bar. It's the middle of the day, 5pm, the bar is empty, there's no other patrons. It was way overkill. We moved to the pool table room where grumpy lady made it a point to come in and make us respond to each empty glass that existed in the room, one by one. It was absurd. The very nice guy at the bar apologized, told us this was relatively normal for this woman, and did his best to remedy the situation. He seems cool and worth visiting this place for, as well as the pool table and cool location in Nederland. Unfortunately you will probably still deal with angry lady and for that reason I can't recommend this place

So much lost potential with this place. The atmosphere isn’t THAT bad. However, the flies are awful. They know it’s an issue since they have fly tape hanging from the ceiling in multiple places. The food, super bland. I get it, buying premade is easier. If you’re going to buy stuff in bulk and deep fry it, you could A) make sure it’s not over fried and B) seasoned with something other than grease. Water is sitting in pitchers, already iced, on the table with plastic cups stacked on top. The pitchers were sweating on to paper plates underneath them, that were attracting flies/gnats. No way to tell how long the water was sitting in there, but the ice was melting and the dinginess just made it almost worth choking down the dry food. The schnitzel sandwich was wafer thin, over cooked and under seasoned. Very dry since it was overly deep fried. Served with giant slices of onion, wilted lettuce and iffy tomatoes, not ripe and hard. I drowned this sandwich in mayo (reluctantly given up packets from the kitchen), chopped the onions better on my plate(they were an inch thick and in huge slices) and made it more edible. Slightly. The tuna melt - not on the menu- listed as a special on a hand written sign as “soon to be famous” - beware it’s spicy. It’s not your typical tuna melt and other than the spice, which I’m guessing is probably jalapeño, is about the only flavor that came through. The fries were over cooked, hollow even and completely unseasoned. The waitresses seemed upset that there were customers that had the audacity to order food and bother them. I’m not even sure who our waitress was as there were only 2 women that came to the table. One to take the order, one to bring the order, she did return with mayo packets but just kind of tossed them at the table as she walked by. Neither seemed happy to actually be dealing with customers. The place has potential if it’s cleaned up, the staff is retrained and the food gets attention. It’s over priced for under performing food and staff.

Food is very good. Service is good. Nice restaurant. BEWARE of the parking scam, though. If you want to eat here, DO NOT park in the lot. Park in the municipal lot and walk to the restaurant. Parking in the lot will result in a fine, $45-$85, even if you comply with the electronic registration process in the restaurant as posted. The owners of Ubon Thai have nothing to do with this parking scam and have no control over it. They are as much the victims of it as their patrons, as they are certain to lose business because of it. We've been eating there for years, but they've lost our business permanently.

We did takeout as we recently moved here, and although my husband and I are both from amazing cities with amazing food, we moved recently from the worst place we've ever lived, a small mining town in Colorado pretty far away. The deep fried vegetable spring rolls were soggy, the steamed veggies dumplings had a horrible tasting filling, and the noodle soup was both spicy and flavorless at the same time and gave my bowels a real run for their money. It's a good thing my husband is from the deep south otherwise the "mild" fried rice (with random cucumbers on top?) and the grease that held the whole dish together might have put him on his butt all day. Welcome to Nederland, I guess? Was looking forward to the "non spicy" tofu noodle soup, as it always proves to be a comfort food. Instead this left me left hugging the toilet, unable to eat the next day. I really hate to leave a Karen-like review, But as a new family of three who moved into the area and put everything we had into this move. I was disappointed that this was our first meal upon arrival. Especially after where we moved from. Gave it a second go for a few reasons. Had to lower the score because gods, man. If a customer specifically requests a dish to be made mild and then needs to Google on how to save their takeout from over spicing you know something has gone amiss. Flavor doesn't automatically equal spice, and vice versa. Now it's clear this isn't actual Thai food.
