Colatina Exit Restaurant in Bradford receives high praise for its excellent service, delicious food, and great atmosphere. Customers particularly enjoyed the penne alla vodka and chicken piccata. Some long-time customers feel the quality has declined.
Tip: The pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.
We had a most delicious dinner at Colatina Exit. Probably the best Italian dinner in a long time. Topping the North End of Boston. Service was top notch. We celebrated our 48th anniversary and decided to be adventurous by moving out of our comfort zone. We traveled from our summer home on Newfound Lake in NH to Bradford, Vermont for dinner. A pleasant ride . My Chicken Piccata was outstanding. My husband had Chicken Al Fredo w/broccoli. To begin, we had a garlic/olive oil dip with bread. Followed by a generous salad with dill dressing. To top off dinner, we shared a generous slice of cinnamon cheesecake. Our server was attentive and personable. He explained the options, checked on us often, refilled our water and packed our leftovers. We certainly will make the trek to Vermont again. Even from our home state, Massachusetts.
I’ve been to this place so many times and I’ve never had any bad experiences here! LOVE their maple butter that comes with the bread, I wish they would sell it in store!! (It was garlic olive oil when I went today, so I’m not sure if the maple butter is seasonal. The olive oil was great too!) Their mista salad with maple balsamic is a must try. One of the best salad dressing that I have ever tried! Pizza is great too! Staffs are friendly. Highly recommend this place!
Always good food. Consistent. Local ingredients. Great service. Great beer selection. Pizza is good too. Kids enjoy this place. Delicious desserts. Unfortunately no espresso 😲 We eat here several times per year. Highly recommended.
What a delightful gem to find in a (very) small Vermont town! Our party included vegetarians and gluten-free folks and Colatina Exit did not disappoint! The roasted vegetables insalata was particularly delicious. Ample portions and an extensive wine list too!
Amazing food, amazing service. !! Everything was perfect!
My husband and I tried this spot for dinner after a local friend recommended them. We sat upstairs and had a wonderful time! The atmosphere is cozy and clean, the staff attentive and friendly, and food delicious and fresh! In my husbands words “I’d move here just for the food”
Excellent service in a comfortable atmosphere. Extensive menu- consistently reliable and delicious. 😋🧄🍻
Fantastic food, great service and a rustic vibe where casual meets fine dining. Can't wait to go back!
My first dining out experience in Vermont. What a great place! Food is amazing and service is stellar! Highly recommend.
Food here was excellent. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. Service was great. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
If your ever nearby...or not and want to take a drive to a wonderful meal...this is the place. I had chicken picata with asparagus and mash pots and the meal was fantastic...could taste the wonderful blends of flavour for an hour after my meal. My hubby had linguini marinara, mom had Alfredo fettuccine, both their meals were wonderful..and my dad had a NY strip steak with mash and broccoli ...steak was tender and wonderful taste. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Service was excellent as well...automosphere was pretty ..looks out over what is rolling fields and down the road is a beautiful waterfall.
My family has been going to this restaurant quite literally for generations, even though it's in another state and quite a bit of a drive, and there's a reason for that! I've never had a meal I didn't completely enjoy (and save room for dessert if you can, there's an oven-baked cookie served with ice cream that's absolutely out of this world!)
The pepperoni is the best. They don't skimp. You get pepperoni in every bite. We're from out of town but we get pizza here when we visit family.
Ate a quick lunch here. Food was a little pricey but very good. They serve alcoholic drinks too but I didn't order anything this trip. Nice Italian dishes here but I just ordered a pizza.
This place is awesome. I still think about their pizzas decades since visiting. Best pizza I've ever had in my whole life.
Girls night out - we were lucky enough to have Logan as our server. Knowledgeable, very attentive and great personality. 100% great dining experience.
Amazing food. Probably the best eats in town. Menu is a little higher scale but well worth it. Atmosphere is very nice. Great for family outing or just a romantic dinner.
One of our favorite restaurants in northern New England. We frequent this place a few times a year. The food is always the best. Try the pizza I bet you'll like it. When were passing through the area we make an afternoon of it and go shopping at farm way just down the road. Try there maple vinaigrette.
Killer wings, Caesar salad is perfect, and the pizza was cooked perfectly. An unexpected experience for a small town. Will definitely be back.
Went for my fiancees birthday. Upstairs was closed but we got private dining for 8 or 9 people. Was excellent. We were served by (according to my fiancees mother) the person who was running the upstairs. Super stand up guy. Had anecdotes for everything. Recommended a perfect replacement beer when they were out of the one I wanted (I knew both beers very well.) The food was what you'd want. Don't pass on the mozzarella carrozza.
I moved to the area from Nashville, TN where we have excellent food. I was incredibly impressed when I walked into this restaurant to find excellent service, great portions, very reasonable prices and amazing food. My husband and I struggle to find restaurants with decent sized portions and Colatina doesn’t disappoint, we always go home with plenty of leftovers. They have great specials and deals; such as their Monday specialty pizzas for $10, Tuesday’s they have large pizzas for $12, etc. My husband and I eat here once a week for our date night (not since covid though). Everything on the menu is very well executed from their steak to their seafood pasta, Cajun chicken pasta, spinach and artichoke dip, their MASSIVE calzones and mouth watering pizza. Colatina has never let us down. During their brunch on Sunday’s they offer a maple butter with their bread and it’s amazing, I would purchase a tub of it if I could! We ask for it when we eat dinner and they bring it with no hesitation. The servers are kind and excellent at what they do. The ambiance of the restaurant is very soothing and well thought out. They have been doing an excellent job adjusting to COVID and taking good care of their customers. I will be a customer here for as long as I live!
All I can say is wow the food was amazing. The service was kinda slow but you will have that with such a busy restaurant. My advice. Get yourself one of their signature drinks, order one of their great appetizers and relax. Enjoy the experience there while you wait for your dinner.
Definitely one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. The food is amazing especially the stuffed mushrooms, chicken wings and the seafood cioppino (with white sauce)are my favorites! However everything on their menu is amazing. The prices my be a little higher than average but it's absolutely worth it. They also deliver (or at least they did before the outbreak). And offer takeout as well. The people who work there are just as awesome as the food! Shout out to Dave, Jesse, Logan, Garrett and an old employee, Travis who always do an excellent job, and aim to please the customers. (Sorry if I forgot anyone) If you are a local than you already know how awesome this place is, however if you are not, stop by Colatina!! You will not be sorry. Almost forgot, they have a bar upstairs which is also great for those who enjoy a relaxing and fun night out with family/friends. Overall I would say this is my favorite local restaurants and would highly recommend them!
Good Italian food. Varied menu. Generous portions. Pleasant servers. We have been going there for many years. Very consistent preparation. If you liked it 10 years ago, and order it now it will taste the same.
We always hit the cheese shop and coffee shop when going through this town. No idea this restaurant was even open, really need an big open sign! The food and service was fantastic!!! You could tell all the ingredients were so fresh and delicious not boring or wilted. Sangria was delicious with our meals and can't wait to go back. Highly recommend. Staff so friendly and personable, a true gem.
What an amazing place. I cannot say enough good things about it. the food was so good. Our server was the best I've had in a long time. My first time here and I will definitely be going back.
Riley C. Is an awesome waitress. I am a business owner of a Cafe'. Riley knowledge of the menu & her pleasant smile & attitude, she was genuinely pleased to do her job & did it very well. We had gone here with some friends for dinner. Riley, keep up the good work it was a pleasurable experience. Thank you. Jesse
Excellent gluten free pizza! I have had a lot and this has been my favorite, it was delicious. I appreciate they take the need for gluten free and asked if it was allergy, celiac, or preference. Highly recommend!
My husband and I got take out Sat night. My risotto was delicious! We will eat there again!
We stopped here on our way home. The food is absolutely amazing. The meatballs are not only amazing, they are blended with mixed meats old world style. I would def stop here again, or if I am in the area.
We moved over the border in NH. We were so happy that up the street in VT there were restaurants. Colatina became our go to pizza night restaurant. The pizza is great and their salads are good too. We do takeout. Started during Covid when you waited outside. Same good pizza. They also have great desserts, I discovered when we could go in. Got a pizza last night, as good as ever. We are moving so it's also our last 😢. Highly recommend.
Everything you want in an Italian restaurant! Great food, friendly service, fresh wine, at a reasonable price point. I’ve had their pizza for take out and it’s great, plenty of topping choices.
Had the pleasure of eating there 2 times on our vacation last week. Great beer selection for an Italian restaurant. Food was good and the panko crusted mozzarella was incredible. Open early and stays open later than most in the area.
What a great find! We were staying at some lodging in Pike, NH and found this place. Whole family lived our meals. Wife and I had Veal Marsala and Veal Piccata and it was perfect.
The food was excellent, and reasonably priced. All of the staff was very polite and accommodating. Sometimes they have a magician who goes around to all of the tables and performs tricks. His routine is quick, and does not interfere with the meal. Children and adults would both enjoy coming here.
This place was awesome! It was an excellent Italian restaurant with a huge selection of freshly made dinners and delicious brick oven made pizza. We took our Dad here for dinner on Father's Day and again for pizza later in the week (we were on vacation in Piermont, NH). Everything was amazing. They had entertainment with a small magic show! The staff was very friendly and the dark haired goddess who ran the pizza counter was divine :)
Oh my goodness, yummy!! We shared 2 dishes the Homemade hot sausage calzone and the ravioli with basil pesto and cream. Holy yummy on both meals! And then there was the maple butter for the bread was scrumptious.
I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. The food, energy/vibes, staff, and drinks are all really good. You'll never go wrong with your order. From rustic pizza to classy entrees every single one is a treat.
I had some absolutely amazing wings, with some great beer at the bar. The wings are a in house special. I love local beer and they have a respectable list. The service was OK but a bit slower than it should have been, but the food made up for it.
Delicious Italian cuisine with a great beer selection. Have tried their pizza and calzones; haven't ordered an entree yet but, I would expect dinners to be excellent. Gets very busy so call ahead.
Always good food at the "Exit" we like the smaller portion choice and actually end up taking some home anyway. Our favorites ... chicken prosciutto marsala and clams on Linguini ( when they have it). Good cocktails, wine and beers. We prefer upstairs seating, . Has a view and has a little more intimate pub feel. Enjoyed a cold frosty mule on this 92 degree afternoon and great view too!
Food was excellent! We went on a Sunday evening so Marko the Magician was performing at tables. He's really good. Price seemed high until I saw the portions. The large pasta dishes could feed 2-3 people. They serve warm bread before the main dishes arrive and it is easy to fill up on that delicious carb that melts in your mouth! Overall great atmosphere, delicious taste, okay price.
This place has wonderful food and very friendly staff. The specials were made from fresh locally sourced ingredients that were in season and the flavors really reflected it. Being up here on vacation from RI it was nice to find a local gem such as this. I will visit this place every time I am up this way and will highly recommend it to everyone I know. Thank for a truly great dining experience.
We were seated promptly. My wife ordered Chicken Piccata. I orded Veal Piccata. Both Dishes, Bean Salads, Drinks, & Carmal Bacon Cheese Cake were outstanding. The Bread & Olive Oil was a nice touch. Natalie our Waitress did a great job taking care of us. She was Friendly, Prompt, & Effecent. We had a great meal. A hidden gem for sure. We will be back.
My Aunt's 100th Birthday food was delicious allowed us to bring in our own Birthday Cake Our server was wonderful in fact 1 order didn't come out on time. They offered free salad and took it off of our bill! Very clean will definitely go again when I'm in Haverhill
Excellent service, was packed and we still got a booth. Food was subperb, steak for my man, fettuccine alfredo for my granddaughter, chicken ceasar salad for me, chicken tenders and fries for my grands4and eggplant parmesan for my mother in law. Everyone was pleased and pleasantly full 🥂
Refreshing my review from 3 years ago. Still absolutely excellent. The food is always spoton. Our waitress faith that we had today 9/3/25 was absolutely top shelf. Totally accommodating to our needs. Keep up the great work.
Pizza hasn't changed love the cupped pepperoni seafood shippino used to be with a white sauce now red
Wonderful food, great variety of dishes. I have been there many times and always enjoyed it. Staff are very polite and know their stuff 😉
This place is a hidden gem. Our server was awesome. Food was amazing. Highly recomend
Some of the best pizza I have ever had and the most authentic and delicious tiramisu this side of anywhere.
The best gluten free pizza I have ever had, and I live in a major city. I love this place.
Best gluten free pizza I've ever had!
Been here many times and always loved it but tonight was our first time upstairs. Marco the magician dropped some card magic on us that made us have to revisit the tesseract to try and make sense of what just happened! Love Colatina! 👍👍
The food is reliably good and they have always been so kind and accommodating of my family, including two crazy little kids. Eggplant parm, chicken ranchero wrap, chicken marsala are all great.
Love this place! Great food and atmosphere!
Service was fantastic. Riley was very lovely as our waitress, when I brought up a very small issue, she immediately addressed it. And the manager (Jordan) immediately apologized, gave us dessert on the house, and took my daughter on a tour of the desserts to help her decide. Super accommodating, super friendly, and very professional. 10/10 service.
We were a walk-in party of five and they were busy, but they still accommodated us. Really grateful. Pizza was high-end and delicious. Good range of good local beers. They looked after our little girl very well!
Really good food Quick service My grandsons loved the Mac & Cheese
Food was AMAZING!BEAUTIFUL SETTING, will definitely go again. Prices were also good!
Saturday Road Trip - Traveled over to VT for the day... Norwich, Lake Fairee, Goose Green, Bradford.... stopped at Colatina Exit for a quick lunch. The Zuppa was the house soup... and the only soup on the menu. Sicilian mushrooms, clams, and Hatchland cream. OMG! One of best foods I've eaten! Delicioso!
Took my mom out for a birthday dinner here and everything was great! Penne alla vodka was yummy and mom enjoyed her chicken piccata too. Our server Chelsea was so sweet and made my mom's day a little more special. Nice atmosphere too!
We just wanted a quick place to eat, didn't expect this at all. We ended up driving almost 2 hours the following weekend just for this. Clean, Consistent, delicious food for a respectable price. The wait staff showed urgency, professionalism all while being nice people. We got the pizza and wings deal which was hard to get 2 weekends in a row just because the whole menu looked amazing. Justified it because we knew we'd be coming back. The restaurant in general was awesome because you aren't sitting on top of others, the booths don't constantly move when someone sits (tables and chairs are an option), it was clean, good lighting, good music! We'll be back!
Only ever get take out pizza, their pesto pizza is particularly good, also their Vermonter!
Best eggplant parm and tiramisu I’ve ever had. Excellent wine list; we enjoyed the Barberra both times we went. Husband loved the veal piccata and veal with mushrooms. Excellent selection of beers on tap too, as well as great service. Staff are super well trained. Get a table on the second floor by the window overlooking the golf course. We also went on Friday night for the music which was kind of lame. Food disappeared before I could take a picture. Who would think such a small town would have such a great restaurant? Lots of people know each other.
Servicio excelente, comida excelente, ambiente excelente. 100% recomendable
I’ve enjoyed lunch and dinner here multiple times. Their bread and cinnamon butter are phenomenal - I could eat a whole meal of that. They have quality service; with an occasional magician to entertain guests (pre-covid). The facility is a bit dark and could use a refresh in design, but when in the area I thoroughly enjoy their food.
We ate here on our first night in Fairlee VT on the recommendation of the motel owner. Seating is both upstairs and down, and we were not asked our preference. After being seated and learning that there would be live music, we thought downstairs might have suited us better, but the music was not intrusive. In fact, the noise from the other diners was so loud that it was often difficult to hear the musician. My three cheese and veggie sub was large and delicious. Half was saved, and my husband ate it the next day on the trail! His meal of chicken prosciutto marsala was very good! The price for the meals was very reasonable, two beers and a Bloody Mary brought the bill with tip to $56.
Food was fine considering it is Italian food served in a small Vermont town. The portions were lacking for the price.
8 of us came here after a hike because we were staying in an airbnb down the street. We got a few drinks and apps, everything was really good! We ended up getting dinner next door and we really wished that we had just come back here for dinner. One less star because I ordered a cider and I waited for about 15 minutes for it. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. We are coming back here in May and I'm very excited!
This resteraunt in Bradford VT is a little gem. It was our first time visiting and the atmosphere was great. There is an upstairs and downstairs with a separate banquet room for larger groups. The food was fantastic and the waitress we had was fantastic. Definitely a must visit!!
Food was great but the kids Alfredo was tasteless and watered down. Place was very cute
Pizza was great but the mussels were better. Nice little restaurant and good service as well.
We hadn’t been to the colatina in a long while and decided to dine there as we were in the area. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. We were happy the atmosphere has not changed! The bread you get when seated was not like it used to be. In the past, it was lighter with a slight color to it and was delicious and chewy. Now it is pale white and dense. Lots of herb- garlic oil made it better . My chicken parm was a little dark on the bottom but still tasty. Someone in our party got a calzone and it was delicious. Salads and pasta all good. We also got chicken wings with their homemade blue cheese dip. The best blue cheese . We hope to return soon
I usually get the same pizza the manhattan absolutely, delicious. They have had some great drinks in the past to special cocktails. And their bread they serve with every meal with garlic oil.Or cinnamon starts the meal off wonderful.
Our food was slow and coming although it didn't seem like it was that busy. The waitress could have been more attentive instead of seeming put out when we asked for refills and such.
My girlfriend loves this place for lunch when we go to vt for joints n its pretty good but not a huge fan of the staff wearing nose rings but who sm i to judge
On our road trip from the Finger Lakes to the White Mountains, we pulled off for dinner at Colatina Exit—because road trip rule #27: never hike hungry, never drive hangry. The pizzas coming out of the kitchen looked amazing, but my body politely reminded me that vegetables exist, so we went with the Burrata Caprese salad instead. It was fresh, creamy, and delicious—basically summer on a plate. The building itself is charmingly old-school, all warm wood and cozy corners that make you want to stay awhile. The only thing missing? A smile or two from the staff. Let’s just say the service could use a refresher course in “hospitality, but make it friendly.” If you’re local, this might be a great spot for takeout. If you’re just passing through like us, the food’s good—but the vibe might depend on who’s working that day.
Gf pizza is not celiac friendly - i got sick
I'm giving it a hard 3. We had dinner here. The server was polite, but pretty inattentive, considering they weren't very busy. The food was ok. I had the pizza, which was fine, but my wife's alfredo was runny and almost flavorless, including the chicken.
Must have been a rough night. Pizza was cool and bottom of crust was hard and separated from the cheese. Salad was great! Wings were wrong flavor and leaked all over the bag. Extra chicken for the salad was over cooked. Heard this place was better so I'm thinking it was an off night. I hope so.
Very forgettable food at a very unforgettable price. We picked up take out and got one hard, stale bread roll with our food. No ketchup for our fries. I honestly prefer pasta sauce from a jar. Even the fried mozzarella was bland... Luckily the spinach and artichoke dip was very good. I should have just saved my money and cooked
Great pizza and pasta. Relaxed and cozy environment. Special-order items are expensive, and sometimes for takeout they forget to add requested toppings to pizzas -- be sure to check your order carefully before you leave with your food! Tonight they charged me $4 for extra 'jalapeños' on my takeout pizza and they put green bell peppers on instead! Deducting a star!
After waiting 45 minutes for some 2 small and 1 large pizza I was expecting so much more. The price was incredibly high for what was provided and the food did not leave me wanting more. All people in our party were extremely disappointed and we ended up throwing out half of what I paid for. I wish there were more options in the area so it is sad this was really our only option.
First let me say that the service was excellent. The food was pretty awful. I couldn't eat my crabcakes which were mushy dog food like texture, my sisters risotto was a sludge and my other sister's alfredo came out of a bottle, we think. I would never go back there for anything other than pizza. Which makes me sad since Colatina was my absolute favorite restaurant 30 years ago.
I've never actually ordered food, besides pizza, from the Colatina until today. (I grew up close to the restaurant). Sadly that was a mistake. By far the worst, most under cooked steak, I've ever received from a restaurant. I used to be a chef myself, and I've traveled across four continents so far. Genuinely this was the worst steak I've gotten. Of course it was take out too. So I didn't even get to explain what was wrong with it. The presentation was decent, the worker knew how to sear a steak at least. They just didn't know how to cook it. As parts were still raw. Hopefully they can get some more practice in. All the side dishes were okay. Not spectacular, but not bad either. It can be tricky when one first starts out cooking steaks. As they can look done after searing them. However that doesn't not mean the inside was properly cooked. It's a mistake that gets made when people who aren't use to cooking steaks start out. Overall I'm not angry, mistakes happen, I'm just disappointed. For the price of the item and the lack of quality from such a restaurant.
I think these folks forgot or never knew what Italian food is. I had a steak that wasn't as good as I can buy at Shaws and cook myself. Tough. Grizzly. Asparagus was too raw to eat. Mashed cold and tasteless. Gin and Tonics were the only good part. Prices too high for low quality food.
What was I thinking? (Ordering scallops....). That dish was really really bad. Pure glop. My sister ordered crab cakes which basically tasted like deep fried pureed moosh. Couldn't eat that either. Nice service, nice atmosphere. Most expensive dog food I ever got.
We went for a nice family dinner and ended up having a terrible time. When our food came out my fiance's pizza was wrong so the said we would have a new one in 5-6 minutes. 20 minutes later it comes out and its wrong again the manager has no backbone. the only thing he said he could do was comp us the pizza. Thanks for taking your mistake off the bill. Dont bother offering to make a new one. nope he should be fired. this place is a joke
I would not recommend this restaurant. The heavy set bald gentleman/sever was rude to me when I asked to update my bill. I ordered the fried calamari appetizer and a side plain order of fettuccine pasta over with oil and I was charged 18$ for just a pasta. The manager took 5$ off from my bill. The calamari was not good at all. Hardly any spice. I also ate dinner here 3 days before. The food was mediocre. I came back because I thought I would give it a second chance. I was not pleased at all the second time. Spend your money somewhere else.
Service and atmosphere great. Food not so much. I do not recommend Eggplant Parmesan; tomato sauce from a can; spaghetti noodles not at all special; eggplant not breaded and mushy-tasting. Bean salad was great.
Food sucks. Used to be good, over a decade ago. Don't know what has happened. They have no right calling themselves an Italian restaurant. My daughter, about their eggplant Parm: "This ain't no eggplant Parm!" lol. Lasagna-literally the worst food I've ever been served in a restaurant, nothing but a pile of greasy cheese, acidic sauce, and overpriced, to boot. I could barely find the actual lasagna in the pile of yuk. I guess if you go there for bar-food, the appetizers will do...it's pub food. Also, on more than one occasion, my take-out order was missing a major component and living over 40 minutes away, returning is not worth it. They said they refunded my order last time it happened, gave me a "credit", but when I went in to order again, they had no idea what I was talking about. Obviously the manager just wanted to get me off the phone.
La comida es pésima. Antes era buena, hace más de una década. No sé qué ha pasado. No tienen derecho a llamarse restaurante italiano.
