We had a great evening meal at Cookhouse. The staff were really friendly and the food tasted amazing. There is a lot of locally sourced foods on the menu too which is lovely to see. The decor of this place is outstanding! Thank you for a lovely visit. We will be back soon.

I love to pop in here on my circular walks. Always a warm welcome from the staff. Budweiser £4.90 a pint. Very nice 👍 it is too. Perfectly chilled.

What an amazing pub, really cozy, nice food, good selection of ales, beers, but most importantly friendly and smiling staff.

Great restaurant and staff. Called in for breakfast on a whim. Good food, decent portion and pricing. Would definitely recommend the breakfast menu. I will return to try the dinner menu most definitely

What a fabulous experience out with the girls. We booked to take advantage of the special Friday Night Steak offers and I have to say, my medium rare fillet steak was divine! Served with tasty fries and a fresh salad it was heaven on a plate. The side order of peppercorn sauce and onion rings complimented my meal perfectly. We asked to meet the chef… Sheldon … you made my night! Chloe was also a credit to the friendly welcome and service we experienced. The good news is that the steak offer is going to continue into March. We’ll be back! Thank you.

Another delightful visit to Cook House Bar and Kitchen. We were warmly greeted by Sean and Michael. They are so cheerful and friendly. The service was excellent, as was the food and coffee. We enjoyed our time sat in front of the roaring log burner in warm and cosy surroundings. Wonderful hospitality. Highly recommended.

Once again we have had a wonderful breakfast. We usually choose the pancakes and we are never disappointed. They are lovely. The taste, presentation and service is without fault. The staff, both front house and kitchen are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, along with the lovely atmosphere it makes for the perfect breakfast.

I am not a big fan of filling in reviews or feedback forms but on this occasion I absolutely could not, not leave a review. The food and location were superb and would definitely come back for those but the massive stand out reason is the service. I am so sorry I didn’t get your names, I’m sure one was Mick (sorry if im wrong). You took my reservation , served the drinks, took our order, made us feel so welcomed and special, your colleague who brought the food to our table was also so lovely and attentive. You need to look after these guys before someone snaps them up, the service would not be better in any top end restaurant. Thanks for a wonderful experience and will be back very soon ☺️

We only popped in for coffee and a chat. There was a warm welcome and excellent service the coffee is great the fire was lovely and warm. We kept seeing lovely food coming out of the kitchen and stayed far longer than we meant to. Looking forward to again soon.

First time here but will be back. Nicely furnished, lighting just right. Service was good. The food was even better than looking forward to. Very good quality and everything was very tasty. We all thoroughly enjoyed.

Was really pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. Food was great value and very tasty. I went for the Club Sandwich and was very pleased with the quality and size of the portion. Staff very friendly and nice modern surroundings.

We came for tea on a Monday & really enjoyed our meals. The kids menu had plenty of good options & the portions were good. The place is beautiful, with amazing views of the golf course, in a cosy setting. All the staff we interacted with were polite & friendly. We would definitely go back.

Regularly spot on. Our go-to place. As always well looked after by Michael and Julie. Brunch for all. My scrambled eggs were lovely, obviously cooked not microwaved. All the brunch plates were delicious and well received. Thanks Julie. Michael has a lovely natural informal approach. With light humour to suit all cases. The venue is big enough to cater for our large party and still look after other customers. The staff have the experience to be able to look after all customers needs.

First visit. Very smart place with great views over the grounds. Friendly atmosphere, lovely staff, great on service. Good quality food and beers. Sensibly priced. It’s also dog friendly. Definitely returning.

Found an absolute gem of a place, with attentive and friendly service, fabulous food and beautiful surroundings with a great view! Chosen as a half way point for us and after our experience we will definitely be back. A special shout out to Mike for making us feel so welcome. (Sarah Bloy)

The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is always so friendly and feels personalised. It feels they are keen to look after your needs and serve you well. Food comes quite quickly. I find the atmosphere is always calm and peaceful. Really can’t fault this place at all. I love it 🙂 Special thanks to Becca for being a fabulous host!

We come here a lot through the week and always have a great meal. Today we tried the Sunday roast and it was amazing the lamb was to die for. All the staff are lovely and becca was great!

A great place to eat, very dog friendly , staff were very helpful. Went for an afternoon meal, 2 had sandwiches as a lighter bite which were very tasty and filling especially the chicken. I had the salt and pepper chicken gyros (only comment was that the flat bread was quite hard and not a soft flat bread) and the daughter had the pie , both were great. Great building and lovely views of the course

Not somewhere we'd normally think about going but having heard rave reviews from our neighbours, off we went! The place is IMMACULATE inside, not one piece of the place looks tired or grubby. Absolutely spotless. The food was good, but lost points for the guacamole being far too lemony. The fish (fish and chips) was fairly bland. On the flipside the steak and blue cheese is lovely and the chips were pretty moreish. Plenty of good especially the friendly staff, but nothing outstanding enough to make regulars of us. It's all down to personal taste ultimately isn't it? Because the place itself is very professional.

Pleasant venue. We didn't eat here, just got drinks which were very nice (hot chocolates and cappuccinos). Cosy and warm inside with a lit Woodburner . Nice decor. Service was a bit slow but it was quite busy. Would return again.

It's definitely worth a try. The only problem I had was that there wasn't any chicken or beef left for Sunday dinner at 3 pm. Also, the food came out without the vegetables, and I had to remind the waitress twice, and by the time it came, I finished my food. The atmosphere makes up for a lot with the music and fire, which was relaxing. I think if they could fix the service part, which is probably an easy fix, it could be 10/10. Also the price was reasonable.

We have eaten at the restaurant before and not been disappointed. The food, staff and the atmosphere have all been exemplary. Today was the first time we had breakfast at he restaurant. The food was very good and excellent value. Just some room for improvement in the service - the tea came without a spoon, no sauce was offered until I asked, we were not offered a choice on egg preference and the tea cup came with a small milk jug inside. I prefer my tea cup to be as clean as it was after it was washed not after other objects have been inserted.

The Cook House has been open for just over a year, and I have made multiple visits during this time. The establishment is beautifully designed and well-maintained, featuring a lovely terrace area that overlooks the grounds and provides outdoor seating. While I find the food enjoyable, I believe it could be considered somewhat overpriced. I have encountered inconsistencies with the menu; the quality and composition of the dishes can vary significantly depending on the chef on duty and the time of preparation. Additionally, I have experienced concerns with portion sizes. On one occasion, I ordered a steak that arrived cold and was accompanied by only nine chips. While I still enjoyed the meal, I feel the portion was inadequate given the £20 price point. Moreover, the menu changes frequently, which can leave returning customers disappointed if they are hoping to order their favorite dishes, which may not only be unavailable but could also come with a higher price tag. The bar is well-stocked, and the staff are responsive. The drinks are priced at a premium, which I find fair considering the quality of the venue. However, I was disappointed to discover that all the cocktails are pre-mixed and served from a bottle. Given the extensive selection of spirits available, I believe offering freshly made cocktails would enhance the overall experience. The majority of the staff are polite and friendly, although I have noticed disparities in workload. For instance, I observed a manager engaging with patrons for extended periods while the remaining floor staff appeared to be overwhelmed with their responsibilities. Furthermore, I have concerns regarding staff working prolonged shifts. It seems some employees are opening the venue with less than 11 hours between shifts, which raises legal and ethical issues. Having worked in the service industry for over a decade, I feel compelled to express that these shortcomings overshadow the otherwise appealing menu and the warm atmosphere of this local restaurant.

the food was really nice but the service was shocking. We had preordered our meals and when we arrived we were informed they were not available. Had an reservation at 3:30 and my party didn't leave till around 7ish, I had to leave before dessert (which what my group told me wasn't worth the wait). the staff were friendly but the service was very slow and sloppy. My friend emailed you about the situation about a week ago and you never got back to her

Really nice location, with a golf course to look out on. Beautiful in summer and nice inside also. The service is great, good selection of Beers/drinks and a nice simple menu. The focaccia bread starter was to die for. Very soft and delicious. The roasts were good in generally good selection of well cooked veg and beef or lamb. However I did have one issue that brought the score down as it ruined my meal. The lamb gravy had loads of mint in it. This was too strong, especially on the vegetables and ruined the taste of everything including the lamb. Absolutely no need to create mint gravy and if you do certainly warn the customers. Provide two gravies of you must so that I can put normal gravy on the veg. Ruined what could have been a 5 star meal. The beef roast probably scored 5 stars and my wife was happy with it.

The place itself has amazing facilities, great view of the golf course and modern design, however the food is just not up to the same standard. I have been twice, and both time the food really disappointed me. First time I ordered a chicken burger, which was way too sweat for my taste, which would be fair enough if not for the fact it was also dripping with fat and cooked for to long making it very dark. Second time I ordered a fish finger sandwich, and what arrived was a sandwich with small fish fillets- again dripping with fat and really dark. The rest of the sandwich was tartar sauce, two slices of lettuce cooked from the fish, and for some reason mushy peas used as a sauce( please consider serving it as a side). The dish looks different in the website photo( adding both for comparison). You can get a better fish sandwich from a local fish and chip shop.

The location and view are stunning, and the atmosphere is amazing. However, the experience was let down by the slow service from the kitchen. Our orders took an unusually long time to arrive, and we had to cancel the dessert after waiting for over an hour. I hope the management addresses this issue, as the place has great potential with better efficiency.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the service I received during my recent visit. At the outset, my experience was entirely positive the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was of a high standard. Unfortunately, this impression was significantly diminished following an interaction with a member of staff named Tyler. Earlier in the day, Tyler had been unnecessarily discourteous towards a friend of mine who she didn’t know I was with. At that stage, I chose not to escalate the matter as we were all having a delightful time at the establishment. However, when I later returned to order two full-sugar Cokes, I was instead served Pepsi Max. Upon querying this, Tyler responded curtly, stating that she had given me Pepsi Max. When I clarified that I had specifically ordered Coke, she replied in a dismissive manner, “Well, what do you want?” When I restated my original request, she placed the Coke bottles down with unnecessary force and again emphasised the price difference, despite my having already confirmed I was happy to pay the additional cost. This conduct was unprofessional and left me feeling distinctly unwelcome. Additionally, when I enquired whether the establishment served Cocktails, such as a strawberry daiquiri, the response was simply “no” whilst proceeding to laugh in my face without any effort to offer alternatives or provide further explanation. At this point, I felt it appropriate to leave as I don’t deal with altercation well, the experience had become uncomfortable and disappointing. I trust you will investigate this matter and take steps to ensure future patrons are treated with courtesy and professionalism at all times.

After a bad meal, we decided it is ony fair to give the Cookhouse another chance to redeem themselves, my daughter-in-law and myself did, on the 31st of October. The experience was far better, by a mile. My daughter-in-law had steak and piecwhich really liked. She had really test them because she doesn't normally eat pies. I had the fish and chips and mushy peas which I had the bad experience before, so I really tested the again. This was a far better meal and was really excellent, just as it always used to be.👍
