Tijuana Flats is a local Tex-mex chain located in Brandon, FL. It’s known for its hot sauce and other favorites including tacos. The decor is newly updated; and has murals on the walls that are aesthetically pleasing. Expect an empty dining room since Tijuana Flats is shifting to a more takeout-style restaurant. The food itself is very good and at a good value. It’s $50 for three meals and two appetizers. The chips and queso are harmonious; which makes a good flavor. The steak flautas were chunky, but combined with the queso and hot sauce made a very good flavor. Overall, would recommend Tijuana Flats for good Tex-mex.

My first time at a Tijuana Flats. I had been avoiding due to the negative reviews I read. I found Taco Tuesday a great deal. The hard shell tacos were generously stuffed with beef and the chips were warm, fresh, and cooked just right. Staff was friendly and professioal. I will definitely visit frequently from now on.

Very bright and engaging atmosphere. I was scared to go in thinking the line would be way too long. However to my surprise the girl at the register was able to get everyone in and out quickly. I was very happy to know I can always come here on my lunch break!

For yelp elite experience @ Tijuana Flats I registered with my wife. So for Monday night dinner we went to Tijuana Flats. Tijuana Flats was around 20 minutes from our place. When we entered the restaurant we were happy seeing how they have decorated the restaurant plus the sauce booth that they have created with different flavors of sauces. We directly went to place our order. With Yelp experience we had an appetizer and flautas free. So we first ordered the appetizer which was chips and guacamole and for flautas we ordered Chicken Flautas. Along with them we also ordered Shrimp bowl as well as Shrimp Tacos. We sat on our table and soon we got our appetizer which was Chips and Guacamole. Guacamole was fresh and tasty with an amazing taste. Chips were okay. It seemed like chips have been kept in open from a long time. Then soon we got our food order which included Chicken Flautas, Shrimp bowl and shrimp tacos. First we had Chicken Flautas. Chicken Flautas was crispy and hot and had an amazing taste. Then we had shrimp tacos. The tacos were big in size and the portion was also good. We loved the tacos. Then we had Shrimp bowl which was also nice and amazing. Loved the bowl too. All in all we loved our time at Tijuana Flats.

Pretty good. I love the atmosphere. Went here for lunch. I like that chips come with it. Minus a star because you have to pay extra for salsa ( or guacamole or queso).

This trip was not fabulous. I ordered 2 black bean tacos and they came almost empty. I did mention it to someone and she did fix it quickly but honestly this should have never come out of the kitchen like this. 2 of the pictures are of the tacos as they came to the table and 1 picture is when I pushed the lettuce, onion, and tomato to the side so you can see how little black beans and how little toppings there are. Service was great (they never leave you wanting a refill as they are so quick to top off). Restaurant was clean. My only gripe was the kitchen. It seems to be a trend with Tijuana flats kitchen staff lately. I don't know if their hiring practice last have changed or they aren't paying the kitchen enough to care about what they are sending out but I'm not having great luck.

This place is more affordable than the taco bus and in my opinion the food is better. They make some pretty decent burritos here. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. They don't bat an eye either when you bring in a service dog. This is my daughter's favorite Mexican food place to eat here in Florida.

Update 12/15/25 Came to causeway location. N they were on point! Cooked exactly how requested. Customer service was amazing! I’ll post pic of my prays order and you can understand my negative review prior to this one . I visit Tijuana at least once or twice a month. Order flautas fried half the time. Large rice . Black beans n corn… Before I left I just felt the need to double check food because it just felt so light and wanted to be sure I had correct order. Small corn. Half full. Figured how it’s served since it was my first time ordering it. Chips … less then hand full Still was going to just leave Until the large rice and beans were half full … so empty u could shake what there was. Showed the server who immediately took everything and filled them. To drive 45 mins home after a 16hr day! To see the flautas were also skimped of meat. 2 of the halves had one or 2 dices of chicken. First m last time to the Brandon location!

This place is more affordable than the taco bus and in my opinion the food is better. They make some pretty decent burritos here. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. They don't bat an eye either when you bring in a service dog. This is my daughter's favorite Mexican food place to eat here in Florida.

The service at this Tijuana Flats location was disappointing. The atmosphere lacked any sense of welcome, and cleanliness was clearly not a priority. Tables remained dirty for quite some time, with garbage not cleared, making it hard to find a decent place to sit. This really took away from the overall dining experience. While the food might be okay, the poor upkeep and inattentive service overshadowed it. Overall, not an appealing visit, and definitely room for improvement at this location.

I’ve eaten here a few times and have to admit the quality has gone downhill. The tacos were tasteless and the portions were very small. Used to be one of my favorite places to dine while in Tampa area.
