Opinions de Au Jus Broadway
I always have the beef ribs with frida pie and guda mac and cheese. Absolutely delicious. This place is the best spot on the west side.
Very pleased with this addition to the neighborhood as they offer some variety to the usual offerings around here. Our sandwiches were tasty and the staff was pleasant.
Very gratious hosts, quick delivery. Brisket melts like butter. Ribs a bit dry, but sauce made up for it.
Love the food and my husband gets his food there every week! We get the Mac & Cheese and Frito pie and desserts are delicious too!
Great pulled pork sandwich (Tulsa)! That along with the Oklahoma BBQ sauce (gold color) is a great combo.
Amazing quality of brisket and ribs. Don't sleep on the Mac either. It's 😋😋😋
The food and customer service were great! I really enjoyed the sliders and lemonade. The red velvet is the best
Great Southern BBQ spot. Delicious take out. Will support this restaurant often during the Rona crises
Best ribs I have ever have, and their soups are really good. Support these guys during this trying time!
Great friendly staff. Awesome customer service. Great prices and the good was amazing. A must try if you are in the area.
CLOSED!
Good brisket! Yummy baked beans and nice proportions. Nice addition to the UWS.
Caught so me really cool live music in the rain. Very nice owner even ran over to dry our seats!
Very accommodating for family and friends great food great prices
Their brunch on Sunday is not too much food for a great price.
The food, hospitality, and the Monday night entertainment at Au Jus are a delight! We’ve never had a bad dish and the friendliness of the staff is refreshing. Highly recommended!
This Place is very nice. The food is different, delicious and wholesome. The food is Oklahoma inspired. They have this amazing Tomato Soup and Crab Cake Sliders, Ummh Ummh Delish. I love ordering different sides instead of the whole meal. Please go you wont regret it.
I always order the chicken wings and last time I ordered the smoked short rib and it was nice and juicy. I used to love the pulled pork sandwich, but its been so dry lately I won’t order it again.
$5 frito pie with real beef chili? Yep!! This place has a variety that will make it difficult for you to choose your entrees there's so much good food here. I'll be writing additional reviews as I come back for more.
The food here is Delicious, the Mac and cheese is so good. All the sliders are amazing. Great spot come hungry leave happy.
Wasn't sure what to expect, but was very happy I went there. Best BBQ brisket sandwich I ever had.. Loads of flavor and not overly salty Can't wait to try it again soon. Friendly staff!!
The mac and cheese is quite possibly the best mac and cheese i have ever had. Their pulled pork and stuffing also great, the Tres Leches cake is truly amazing, i dream about it most nights.
A new restaurant called Au Jus is opening on Broadway and 99th in the spring of 2020, according to a sign on the door. There are other Au Jus locations on the Upper East Side, in Harlem and in Brooklyn. It’s an Oklahoma barbecue joint, that it’s pretty authentic. “We prepare delicious comfort foods – luscious roasted meats and chicken to be sure – plus soups, salads, sandwiches, sides, and desserts,” the restaurant says. See other locations for the menu.
Great beef ribs. Delicious tea! Kids loved the mac and cheese. Super pleasant staff. A new favorite lunch spot!
This place rocks. The food is so good and like home style cooking. The service is great and everyone is so friendly. A great neighborhood spot. Love the jazz on mondays!
It’s a nice surprise we found this friendly and clean place. Ordered their pork ribs platter thinking that we were not that hungry. It’s right to the taste and we have to order more😋
Wow, pleasantly surprised how fantastic the chicken pot pie soup is! Ordered it on this freezing day and it’s absolutely DELICIOUS!
Pulled pork and ribs with 3 homemade sauces to explore. It was delicious! I’ll be bringing friends back.
Delicious food, friendly staff, and hefty serving. I'm so greatful to have had such a wonderful lunch, definitely coming again!!
The food here is amazing. I've been here 6 times in the last few months, I can't get enough of their sweet Oklahoma Gold BBQ Sauce. The brisket and pork ribs are amazing. Rib tips were a bit dry. Short ribs are also great. The highlight though is their Gouda Mac n Cheese - It's so smooth and creamy. I wish they had Burnt Ends or Pork Belly. The waiters hadn't even heard of these things, which is a bit surprising. The sixth time I had enough stomach to get their pies. Omg, unbelievable pecan pie. Sweet potato pie was also amazing, as was the peach pie. Only 1 small complaint : they cut onions somewhere very near to the dining area, results in very spicy air inside. I prefer to sit outside, but this one time it was cold and a nice jazz-funk band was playing inside, so I had to endure the pain in my eyes.
I absolutely love this place. The food is absolutely amazing. It is so perfect. I would recommend if you are in the area. The service was also excellent. They were very patient about my group not knowing what to get. The atmosphere was also amazing. It’s so much like Oklahoma. Also there was this kid that worked there that was really funny. He helped us decide. If you are near you should definitely check it out!
I liked the feel of AuJus and, the wait person could not have been nicer. However…..was I pleasantly surprised when the food was DELICIOUS. I had the Asian Chicken salad & it was the best lunch I’ve had in awhile.
We picked up a chicken platter for take away and it was all excellent. Delicious bbq chicken, some great sauces. The mac and cheese was great and the home cooked fries were lovely too. We will definitely be back.
This place is great! I have only done take out thus far so I can't speak to what the dine in experience will be like (post COVID). The ribs and the brisket are phenomenal. The sauces are a perfect match and they have several to choose from. I actually like to mix them. The Fritos Chili is a great side. The value is really high especially when compared with the local competition. In my opinion, you're getting a superior product for considerably less money!
Brisket and pulled pork are extremely tender and tasty. I also really liked the coleslaw because it was sliced ultra thin. Mac n cheese were very good as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. A great place for meat lovers.
This place has really good barbecue and the service is excellent and friendly. My family has made the 30-block walk to eat here three times in the past two weeks. The ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken are all outstanding. The kids love the hot dogs, Mac and cheese, and cornbread, in addition to the traditional bbq meats. Highly recommend!
I ate at another restaurant but wanted some dessert so I was just walking back to my apartment aimlessly…. I also wanted something special because I was with my girlfriend who was visiting from Germany. As we were walking by we heard beautiful piano music (like something you would hear in the movies) Denise (the lady playing piano) brought us in with her inviting music and we enjoyed delicious banana pudding and crème brûlée; that satisfied our sweet tooth. The enchanting music paired with great service and outstanding desserts created a REAL NYC moment I got to share with my foreign girlfriend. I will be coming back for more!!! They have music on Monday night, I highly recommend the desserts and the tunes
Soo good! We had the cuban sandwich and ribs with mac n cheese. The food was so fresh and we ordered drinks and they made them really tasety and a little strong which was so nice. Their sauces are super good as well. Definitely will come again!
Some of the best brisket in the city! So good. And the sides are also amazing. Hard to find a good bbq place with actual good sides. Also appreciate a roll instead of cornbread but that’s just preference.
I cannot avoid starting by the end: the banana pudding is a winner! Fresh ingredients, scrumptious texture, flavors that meld into a perfect dessert. The sandwiches and burgers are excellent, and the array of sauces, lovely. We tried the chicken bbq and leg of lamb sandwiches, satisfying and well made. Will be back!
We were surprised to see Oklahoma Style BBQ here in the Upper West Side. It was our first time trying Oklahoma Style BBQ so ordered from here a couple of times! First thing first, Their Oklahoma BBQ Pork Ribs with a side of mac and cheese and cornbread. The ribs were tasty! We loved the dry rub and the meat come off the bone easily, super tender and flavorful. As for the BBQ sauce, it was a lot tangier for sure! But overall worth it! The Tulsa BBQ Pulled Pork was also delicious! It was served on a brioche roll with pickled red onions, coleslaw & BBQ sauce. It was a flavorful sandwich and they gave a wonderful amount of meat. We also ordered their Oklahoma Hot Links Sandwich. Now this one was served on a Hawaiian sweet roll, smoked, hot n' spicy beef sausage with melted sharp cheddar cheese, chicharrones, baby arugula, and chipotle sweet pepper mayo. The cheese in this sandwich just melts so beautifully with the combination of the heat from the beef sausage is perfection. Very hot and spicy, worth the mouth burn. Not to make this review too long, but the crabcake sandwich was also good, a little small - more of a light snack but good! Lastly, their Homemade Crème Brûlée is well made! great when you are craving a decent price Crème Brûlée. Overall, will come back again and again!
Nice addition to the neighborhood with this Oklahoma BBQ spot. Nice chumy decor. Friendly staff. Had the beef brisket Platter that comes with 2 sides. I chose red Oklahoma chili - that's beanless beef chili - and gouda Mac n cheese. The brisket is smoked for 14 hours and was tender and flavorful. I didn't need the 3 BBQ sauces, but they were good too!
As a person from Tulsa, I’m always skeptical of anyone who says their Oklahoma BBQ is delicious. So, we had to try this place. I have to say - it met the expectations. Sweet BBQ was yummy on the Tulsa pulled pork sandwich. We also had the Gouda Mac & Cheese, cornbread and stuffing. I highly recommend all of them. The sweet tea was more like an Arnold Palmer, so if you don’t like a lemon flavor, don’t get it. Finally, we had the pineapple upside down cake. The restaurant is covered with mostly Tulsa-themed posters & celebrities. We’ll definitely be back.
if you are looking for the best BBQ, look no further than the Upper West Side. From ribs to brisket to BBQ chicken, every meal we have had at Au Jus is so good 😋
Such a fun find in UWS! Food is good and they have live music on Monday nights. And good wine/beer options. Service is also great!
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened and the quality of their barbecue is always the best. I love steak sandwiches and pork chops. They are so good! You can taste the quality of the meat is very good. The service staff is also very warm, every time to feel very cordial! It is highly recommended!!!!
If you want a small bite, get a soup and slider. It will be a perfect portion, specially during the hot summer. Good way to taste everything on the menu. If you have a full appetite go for the sandwich or platter.
Great food, attentive owner Patrick was present,.Support this small business. LIVE music! Come have fun and great food: Mondays Jazz, 2 additional days (Broadway tunes hopefully) starting soon.
Incredible! The meat was good and they delivered fast! And the price is very reasonable! I didn’t expect anything but this restaurant came out as my favorite around the area. Try it you will know what I am saying!

The real flavors shine in every dish. Everything they serve is fresh and presented with care. Employees show remarkable attention. The cost of dining here is quite reasonable. This spot maintains steady quality.

We needed a BBQ restaurant on the Upper Westside. For NYC it will do but not the best. I will have to revisit this place again, to really determine a better review. 🙃
Brisket and rib is pretty good take all the sauces and mix, Mac and cheese ok baked bean were good.
Real BBQ, Smoked meats at a fair price. Food isn't very warm though, kinda room temperature, if that doesnt bother you this place is golden
Corned beef & brisket sliders were great but sides & pulled pork were meh.
Staff is always pleasant and friendly and ready to accommodate. They're knowledgeable about the menu.
The food is excellent! It's going to be a nice addition to the neighborhood. The shop itself is still "under construction" so to speak and there's no AC right now but I expect that will be solved soon. Also the staff is wonderful! Very friendly!
Food is amazing but just be aware of what you’re ordering (some items, by design, don’t taste as good). Only thing I would critique is that the service and atmosphere can feel unwelcoming at times as the clientele is a very specific group of ppl sometimes!
I love this place for takeout. We live around the corner and frequently get the sliders and soups. Highly recommend the pulled smoked chicken with barbecue sauce!!! Ask for bbq sauce on side!
The beef brisket slider is delicious. The brisket slice is very thick for a slider. The roasted potatoes are tasty with a hint of spiciness. The southern cornbread is a must have.
First time customer. Very impressed and satisfied. The brisket was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
It is unfortunate the UWS finally gets an authentic BBQ spot during the current pandemic. At any other time, there would be so much more interest in checking this place out. That being said, I stopped in for lunch last week to support this fairly new establishment. The restaurant had just opened, and there was a small crowd eagerly waiting to order. Good menu, and quite reasonably priced. I ordered the half rack of ribs, and the brisket platter with mac and cheese, and baked beans. The meat was perfectly smoked and mac and cheese was good. But the absolute winner was the baked beans!! Sweet and smoky, with great flavor and perfectly cooked beans. The brisket was flavorful and moist, but more crumbled than sliced. The one downfall was the BBQ sauce, which is thankfully offered on the side. It tasted more like the base of a pot of chili than anything else. Was not good and completely ruined the great smoke flavor of the meat! And I was not offered bread (I had to ask), which is a staple at most BBQ restaurants. But, with time, both are easily remedied. The staff was friendly and courteous, and I will definitely be back. I truly wish this place success, as it is much needed in the neighborhood.
Tasty, cheap and fast. I thought you were only supposed to ever get two of the three. Ribs are good, as is the chili, sides and pulled pork. Keto friendly. Definitely more of a take out place than eat-in.
It was very quiet when I came here one night for dinner. I ordered the pork ribs with coleslaw and macaroni. The macaroni and cheese had fantastic flavor, with a tasty creamy cheese sauce. The ribs themselves were not as great as I envisioned. The barbecue sauce helped a little. Overall, I'd come here again but probably order a different main dish.
Quick service, friendly staff and great food! Maybe a little improvement could be done: real silverware please. It’s all meat based (most of it) and eating and cutting with plastic forks and knifes is a real challenge. Hope they will take this not-a-complain in consideration.

Had dinner here today. For a place called Au Jus theirs is pretty bland which hurts me to type. I ended up dipping my roast beef sandwich in their Gold BBQ instead (that was pretty good). Also their roast beef is pretty dry. Arby's is better. Their creme brulee was good (altho to warn they premade them and keep them refrigerated). What saves this place is the friendly and quick service. I may give this a place another try in the future in hopes I hit an off day in regards to the food.
The girls that work there are all sweet and friendly. Price is cheaper than other bbq place especially for the beef short ribs. But! 5 out of 10 times ordering the beef short ribs by the pound, I swear half pound of it comes in the form of fat. Its so fatty! I dont understand why they didnt use the fatty part for the platter options where they sliced up the ribs so they can discard the fat. Today I got the most fatty beef short ribs of all time and ruin my dining experience. Its inedible and when I tried to separate the meat and the congeal fat, the liquid fat were dripping all over my table. I would go again though, cause its just around the corner of my house and with the pandemic, it is very convenient.
pulled pork sandwich was decent. however, the clam chowder was too watery and did not resemble true clam chowder at all.
Food was delicious! Had beef rib and a brisket slider. No complaints at all about the food. And I would go back for that reason. The main reason behind a less than excellent rating is due to the actual process of getting the food. I understand it’s take out only at this time but there is absolutely no process in place to manage efficient and seamless pick up. There is a tony shelf for ready food and no clear identifier what item is for what order. The hostess was being super nice but it seemed chaotic on people ordering, phoning, sorting out orders and knowing even when the order is ready? One man in the line got so frustrated he walked out and didn’t order. No one even knew where to stand and one lady was not happy being close to someone near her. I hope this feedback is helpful to find a better system as the current one will turn customers away. And the food is good to come back for.
I ordered the brisket beef, I would say it was ok, lack of flavor I'm not sure but it has a lot of fat (?) (More than usual?) As a point of comparison, I'm using a place called John Brown BBQ on Long Island City (27-20 40th Ave Long Island City, NY 11101 United States) It would be wonderful if the owner of this place went to John Brown and compared the taste of even cornbread. It would definitely go to another level and I would give him/her my wallet without batting an eyelid.
Brisket was kinda flavorless and a bit too hard. The cornbread had corn flour in it? But didn't really taste like anything. Mac and cheese was good, as well as the beans. The place was empty and I understand why.

The service is wonderful, but the menu is poor and bad. It doesn't have many options and even has not have breakfast and vegan options.
Got tacos to go, completely soggy, not able to be held, it all became mushy. Very poorly prepped
The roast beef sandwich was the worst I have ever had. The meat was tough and dry. They only give you very little au ju and will not give you anymore. I only ate a quarter of the sandwich. The burrata and tomato salad was very good.
Very average ribs. Came with vinegar, hot, and mustard sauces. The worst coleslaw I ever had. Just cabbage in watery Mayo.
I had high hopes but very disappointed . Both the pork ribs and Short ribs were dry, chewy and bland. Maybe it would have been better if I ate there, but sad to say won't go back.
We had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and menu, but we found the food to be very bland for a BBQ place. Their menu all looked good but we ordered various items (roast beef sandwich, shrimp salad, stuffing, cornbread & clam chowder- and we got a free side of macaroni & cheese) and most of it didn’t have as much flavor as we were hoping. The stuffing had a very weird taste and the clam chowder tasted off. The restaurant also doesn’t serve alcohol if that is important to you. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, and the outdoor seating area was well decorated with plants, but overall the food was just not flavorful. We hope that maybe we just ordered the wrong items (other reviews say the brisket and ribs are good) because we want this restaurant to succeed!
I was really excited to try this out since it has great reviews, went on 5/3/21 with a friend of mine, I ordered the Brisket Platter with a side of coleslaw and cornbread and hibiscus tea. The food was unfortunately bland and a little dry, the sauces helped a bit, but not really. My friend agreed that it was really bland and wasn't appetizing, the coleslaw was extremely bland and the cornbread was dry. The server was great at least. Kinda disappointed
We did not get what ordered. The new England clam chowder had no clams, was watery. The fried pollock in tortilla was decent. Would not recommend.
They (again) forgot to include one of the sides. Damn. The food is okay but portions are small. The Mac n cheeses was overdone, the string beans were underdone. It's a restaurant that doesn't care. A little sad. It would be nice to have a good BBQ place in the neighborhood.
This place has a beautiful outdoor seating arrangement and for the most part everything seemed to be very clean. Unfortunately , the food didn’t match the ambiance. For starters, the meals didn’t come all at once . I was first given the meat then had to wait an additional 10 mins for my french fries and baked beans. By the time all of my food came to the table ; my food was cold and I wasn’t served any utensils. Turns out my waitress went on break while serving our table and didn’t return to check on me for the rest of my stay. The food in general was okay and could of had a little more seasoning . I’m very disappointed and let down . Based on other reviews I thought this place will be nothing short of spectacular. Such a shame.
The sides are pretty good but meats were just okay. They gave us a completely FROZEN sweet potato pie, and after we asked to reheat it (he put it in the microwave right behind the counter) it’s still 80% frozen.
I want to love this spot. Bad. Because I live in this hood & the food choices around here are average to poor. This is the second worst BBQ I’ve had in Manhattan. The only thing I’d consider eating again was the corn beef. Maybe their burger. Everything was a miss. Everything is overpriced. Everything was under or not seasoned at all. Everything was flavorless. I haven’t been this disappointed since Trump and Biden won. No cap. Service was good though. They’re really nice. It’s clean. So there’s that.
Avoid the Reuben. So much fat between two slices of bread. The ribs were ok, but I asked for BBQ and received plain ribs. The cashier had a hard time taking the order. I will not return.
Over $20 for this little piece of food is actually ridiculous. The brisket I received is mostly fat and when I received my food, it was ice cold.

I love BBQ and want to try every one in the city. Sadly, this will be near the bottom. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Interior is nice as well. Sad to report the best part of the meal was the side of kale. The brisket had a nice flavor but as other have reported, it's about half fat and the portion was comically small. For $21 you would expect to be stuffed. One thing that all BBQ places have in common is plenty of food for the price. This was just sad. The baked beans tasted like they were out of a can. Like I said, the kale was awesome. But overall, way overpriced and subpar food.

Absolutely awful portion sizes, not worth the money. The “creme brûlée” is a flan with burnt sugar on top.
Staff and manager refuses to wear masks and they don't check vaccine records. Previous visit, I had a coupon sent to me by their OWN direct mail (with no exclusions) and they refused to honor it. Between the two, maybe reason they are often empty.
I don't normally leave reviews but felt the need to warn others. I ordered chicken, stuffing, coleslaw, and cornbread. All were bad. The chicken was cold and I was worried I'd get sick from the food. I literally threw $30 in the garbage.
Ordered the tomato soup—it came out cold with a hot bowl as if it was microwaved. It was reheated again and came back lukewarm. I’m pretty sure it was Campbell’s soup. The mulled wine also tasted like heated cheap Lolailo sangria with added cinnamon. Was overall disappointed since the fall menu looked appealing
The brisket is chewy and not tender. I wa looking forward to taste food from my home state if Oklahoma. It didn't meet the mark. Brisket is not suppose to be chewy.
Avoid this place at all costs!! I got the worst food poisoning of my life eating here. The food came out cold and the service was awful.
Went here for lunch today, the food came out cold and quick like its been sitting around for a while. The brisket was dry and unseasoned and room temperature. The ribs tasted extremely smokey and unseasoned. The Mac and cheese is the worst, big pasta with cheap cheese blend and was also cold. I told the manager and they didn't offer any alternatives. we tasted the food one bite each but the food wasn't edible so we paid and left. Will never go back to this place again.
I was starving yesterday and decided to get take-out from this place for the first time. Got the "lunch special" of one choice of meat and one side with a drink for $12.50. When I received my order, it was noticeably light, and I really should have checked it before it left, but I was carrying a lot of other things and just wanted to get home and eat. Imagine my disappointment and pure disdain for this joke of a "lunch special" when I got home and saw the two to three ounces of chicken and small container of stuffing I was given. See photo. I mixed the chicken and stuffing together here just to have some semblance of a decent-sized meal. BBQ sauce container included for scale. Chicken was fine and the stuffing was pretty average. Lemonade was very artificial in taste. Need to reiterate the minuscule portions. Will never eat here again. It's pretty telling too that this place is empty most of the time. I probably would never have eaten here if I weren't so hungry. This happened yesterday and I am still mad about it. I spent the same amount at Chiptole and got three times the amount of food, if not more.
If you like gray oil soaked meat then look no further. I don't know if all their meats were just cooked in the oven with liquid smoke but there is absolutely no flavor. Literally looks and tastes like they cooked it in the oven and reheated in the microwave to warm up. This isn't bbq. Short ribs- only edible item I had, no smoke flavor but somewhat tender Pork ribs - dry, flavorless, oven baked. I've had better ribs from Dallas BBQ Brisket - what in the world do you do to get meat that color... Wings - tastes like a reheated frozen wing Smoked bologna - in my head I was thinking how do you mess up bologna it's already cooked, but they burnt it Please do not advertise any of your meats as being smoked when clearly they have not been.
Do not order from this place. I ordered rib tips and that were ice cold. When I called to ask why they sent me ice cold ribs, the gentleman laughed and said you didn't order them hot and proceeded to give me reaheating directions. I asked if was an option in the app, he told me yes. Shocker, it most definitely not an option. They also sent the worst cut rib tips. I definitely do not recommend this place.
