First time in NY coming from LA! Couldn’t have had a better start to my morning thanks to this place. Food was out of this world. Portions/options/ flavors/ ambience/ music was on point! A big shout out to Kelly for guiding/helping me through this experience.

I love love love love love this place! My friend who has lived in New York City for a long time says that's his favorite place and it was obvious because the server knew him! She was so very friendly and we never felt rushed (my friend and I had a lot of catching up to do). Not only was my Cobb salad great it was huge! It was reasonably priced and my old fashioned was $15. That's the same price I would pay at home in Atlanta. Plus it was one of the best I've ever had.

Had a great outdoor "bubble" dinner - the space is very nice, private and warm, with minimal contact with other customers or even the waitstaff. Our server was very polite and attentive. The escargot and mussels were delicious. Fast service, cozy atmosphere and overall a memorable night.

Fantastic little French bistro. Very much a neighborhood staple with regulars crowded around the small bar for happy hour, or seated outside for a beautiful meal on an autumn evening

Cafe du Soleil is one of my favorite restaurants in New York City! Their French cuisine is delicious every time I’ve eaten there, or ordered to-go. A lunch favorite is their Nicoise Salad, and a dinner favorite is their half roast chicken. The portions are generous, and their prices are extremely fair for what you get. A great happy hour spot as well! Will happily continue to visit Cafe du Soleil! All of the staff is also pleasant, welcoming, and really take time to check in with your experience.

The atmosphere was impeccable to the decorations and vibes of the location. Every server and staff was very friendly and always willing to help! The food is beyond amazing. 10/10 would highly recommend for anyone who wants to eat good food and have a quality time!

Cafe Du Soleil is one of the best restaurants that I’ve been to in NYC! The food and atmosphere is amazing and the staff are so friendly and attentive. I love the French cuisine but also that they have more American options as well. If you’re on the upper west side this place is a must! 10/10 would recommend :)

Great service. Delish everything. Bloody Mary could be Zingzang! Mussels & Fries and Eggs Benedict (Cali) were both happy dance worthy. I kept stealing fries... Cafe mocha surprisingly good. Covid regs followed. Sat inside rather than the igloos. Windows and door left open. Bon Apetitt!

Café du Soleil is such a fantastic spot! The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy time with friends. The decor adds a lovely touch, creating a cozy vibe. The drink selection is impressive as well. Whether you're in the mood for a refreshing cocktail or a nice glass of wine, they have something for everyone.

This is hands down one of my all-time favorite restaurants. I’d be shocked to find better French food in the US. In addition to amazing food, this local family-owned eatery offers an outstanding drink selection, top notch service, and the decor and atmosphere make this place feel like its own little corner of France right in NYC.

It was somewhat hard to hear, but that's the challenge with open space rooms. My group came after service and we were in the back room. We had two long tables of 24 or so of folks. Better than others to hear each other, but still a challenge. The service was exceptional. Everyone who served our two tables were affable, engaging, while efficient. They were all a delight. Beverage service was refilled just as one's glass was emptied. Even though I have food allergies, that prohibited me from experiencing the full menu, my companions' food was prepared both delicious to the eyes, and to their palate. The time they took to prepare the food reminded me of my time in Europe, slow food (in preparation) and prepared with love. The bread was delicious, as was my grilled cabbage and beets. SO yummy.

Very cute restaurant with lots of good breakfast/brunch offerings. Love the vibe of this place and the service is always spot on. Definitely recommend if you’re in the uptown area!

Returned last night 1/5/2021 for my wife's birthday. Ate in an igloo. Excellent food. Excellent service and the staff have the whole Covid thing worked out. It was 32F outside but too warm inside. Took off coats, turned down the heater. People behind me were dressed for a warm summer day and regularly popping out into the 32F air for what reasons I didn't know. Can't believe I didn't review this already. Must have been some place else. Was here 9/28/2020, almost a month ago as a break fast for Yom Kippur. It was Mussels Monday. Food was delicious. The place was magical. Really felt transported. So fortunate this place is so near to where I live. Will be returning soon. Favorite thing about the tent we ate (didn't get one of the clear plastic igloos, but that was ok), was the way you couldn't see the Broadway traffic so am very happy to see the return of the 'tent' which looks more substantial than ever.

Cafe du Soleil is situated beside the river Stour in Canterbury occupying a former 18th century wool store. The restaurant is accessed by its own bridge over the river. The building was restored with a grant from English Heritage and it now showcases the extensive use of reclaimed building material from the 14C city wall. Cafe’s cuisine draws influences from Provence in southern France, from Italy and from the Pacific rim, to create a modern cuisine with a Mediterranean heart. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of our food is cooked in our wood burning oven, fed with locally sourced wood from managed forest.

I have lived a couple of blocks away from Cafe Du Soleil for about four years, but just tried it out for the first time a few weeks ago. Wow! This is my new favorite brunch spot, hands down. My girlfriend and I have tried the hash brown combo, a couple of the benedictes, and the croque soleil. All were incredibly tasty, and the dishes have been consistent every time we've returned. I also really appreciate the quick, and friendly service, even when it's during peak hours. Dan, Alec, and Kelly have been especially great! Highly recommended!

M
Melissa Naja

My friend and I just passed by the restaurant. I got recommended by my friend's friend. She told me there is a restaurant when I goes to work around the area and always has a line so I just guess its this place because no place else is crowded. For was good, service was just ok because it was so much of customer and not enough servers.

I stumbled upon Café du Soleil during a sunny afternoon stroll and ended up having one of the most charming dining experiences I’ve had in the city. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed, and unmistakably French — from the décor to the music and even the sidewalk seating that feels like a quick escape to Paris. The food was excellent. I had the moules marinières and a glass of rosé, and everything was fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell this place is loved by locals — it’s got that cozy, unpretentious vibe that’s hard to find in Manhattan. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back brunch, a romantic date spot, or just a place to unwind with a glass of wine, Café du Soleil nails it. I’ll definitely be back.

Great place for drinks and food with people! Their happy hour deal is one of the best in the city if you can get a seat (it's only for those seated in the bar area.) Drinks, food, and staff are always amazing.I love coming here and swing by at least once a week now.

Cafe Du Soleil is a charming French bistro located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. The menu features classic French dishes. I had the Madame and for the sweet tooth Crêpe Au Nutella. The wine list is extensive, with a variety of French and international options to choose from. Overall, Cafe Du Soleil is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic French dining experience in New York City.

A

Had a really great experience here! The food and drinks were incredibly tasteful—every dish felt well thought out, and the flavors were spot on. I especially appreciated how balanced everything was, nothing felt too heavy or overpowering. The service made the night even better—friendly, engaging, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making sure we had a good time. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner. I’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a lovely, bustling cafe with a great vibe and very friendly service. Nice place to sit down with a friend for a few glasses of wine and a meal. I’ve had the classic burger a few times and it’s excellent - a very solid meal, nothing revelatory, but very good. The salads are also great!

Love their bubble set up. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. The food delicious (everything was eaten and pairs perfectly) and fairly priced. Honestly, looking to return soon. Make sure you have a reservation!

Keepin it real out here in UWS Only had a chance to try it one time and it was pretty darn good. Met up with a local who swears by the place and we tried out some of his favorite dishes. They were all spot on and the clams were extra memorable. The exotic dishes are worth trying to if in the area. Was never into French food but this place be bussin'

What a wonderful brunch. The staff was great, the private pop up room was warm, and the food was delicious! I would recommend enjoying a wonderful brunch, or dinner at this longtime New York City establishment. This is what outdoor eating in Covid times should be like.

S
Sree Sreenivasan

Loved our outdoor brunch on Labor Day here. Terrific food and staff (kept our masks on throughout). The short ribs and mash potatoes were awesome! And so was the coq au vin and the crabmeat burger and Provençal omelette. Highly recommend and will come back for sure.

Great place and great ambience. The food is simply delicious. The service is prompt and corteous. They have some great collection of wines and cocktails as well. They have a lot of seafood which is out of this world. They have outside and inside seating. Overall a great place and would highly recommend to all.

This place showed professionalism at every turn. I've tried different menu items and found adequate quality. I thought the staff's performance was excellent. The interior design stands out immediately. You'll find satisfaction in your choice!

Cafe du Soleil has a wonderful atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Try the Boef Bourguignon! Creme Brûlée is also excellent. Their Prix fixe offers good value.

Went there for Mother’s Day brunch with our little one in a stroller. We had a reservation and did not have to wait. They were very accommodating; they went above and beyond to find us a table that would allow us to sit next to our baby in the stroller. The food and service were great. I had the croque madame and my spouse had the classique Benedict. We also split a creme brulee. We also had a few cocktails and they were all great. The prices were also very reasonable! Would definitely recommend

This establishment—specifically the happy hour—is the beating heart of the neighborhood. Fantastic classic cocktails and moules frites, and the lamb merguez sausages with fries is to die for.

Bistro cuisine and good value for what you pay. I was here with my friend for the prix fix menu of 35 for a three course. It starts on Sunday at 4. We couldn’t finish and took it to go. Large portions. Just good

Fantastic brunch! The benedictians eggs were just delicious. We also had some drinks and they were good. The ambience was great, with some lovely music, and the service was also fast and good. Will love to come back.

D
Davira Kuy

What an exceptional restaurant. Never had Coq au Vin before, and their was absolutely delish! Spicy Lamb Sausages just had thr right amount of heat, which also lingers. Cocktails were very light and refreshing, especially in this weather. And the Creme Brulee was just right.

E
Erica Mather

The French Onion soup was out of this world! I hear the broth is made in-house (like most of the menu items!) with roasted beef bones. The herbs gave it a very complex flavor. I had been thinking about it prior to the meal and it was better than what I had imagined. The endive salad was perfectly dressed and with extremely fresh endive. It annoys me when an endive salad has “filler” greens and I was extremely satisfied that it was only endive and lots of it. I’m writing this review while awaiting the merguez, which I’ve had before and am hoping only exceeds the successes of these prior courses. Wait staff was ample and attentive and we sat next to a family with a small child, and they seems very happy and comfortable here. A good place for all.

J
Joann Schwartz

This is my go to spot when n the city_love the French comfort food! Last visit had escargot lots of garlic and herbs and sizzling hot! Just that worth the trip. Dessert was crème brûlée with crackly top done right. Cozy and warm inside too.

Many have raved about this restaurant before me, and they were right. You'll appreciate the portion size, price point, and food quality here. Excellent meals offered at unexpectedly fair rates. All personnel show remarkable ability. Generally speaking, employees were solid and I plan to visit again.

The dishes we had were cooked perfectly, not too salty, with a flavor profile and combination more refined than most good French restaurants at this price point. Staff was excellent: friendly and attentive, and my wife and I would love to go back.

Cafe du Soleil has become our go-to happy hour spot. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively and the service is always excellent. Get there around 4:30-5 and sit around the bar, The wine, pâté, burger and fries, soup…etc., are all delicious, and the prices are unbeatable. It’s the perfect place to unwind and share good conversation over great food.-

Cute, quaint spot. The customer service was great. What we initially came in to try wasn’t available but I was not disappointed with my visit. The food was absolutely delicious. My sister who dislikes ham thoroughly enjoyed her quiche Lorraine. I enjoyed the croque madame. I do wish the side salads had dressing. The caramel macchiatos were some of the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. The crepe was perfect balance of tart and sweet.

I was looking for a quiet place to have a nice glass of wine and a bite to eat. After a beautiful concert at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. After trying a few different places that were way too loud, I found Cafe du Soleil. The host tonight was Miguel. He was so gracious and welcoming. Even though I just wanted a little something, he showed me to a beautiful little table outside that is inside a plastic bubble! Very cozy and private. It was the perfect quiet experience to have a glass of wine and some delicious escargot on Broadway in New York City! I will be back, for sure. Very grateful to Miguel for the welcome.

- ambience is great - comfortable seating and comfortable noise level and temperature - great service - the fries are great - the snails are good - well seasoned and buttery and the free bread is tasty, good quality - coq au vin meat is far too tough, but chiken is good quality. Braising liquid wasn’t very complex kinda tasted like warming spices. - beef bourguiginon has great flavor but the meat is also tougher than it should be - wine with prix fix menu is Côtes du Rhône white or red by Les dauphin (it was good) - the crème brûlée is GREAT, the mousse is more like chocolate pudding and the whipped cream on it *tastes* like redi whip

Absolutely wonderful!!! Tried snails for the first time and I have to be honest I was skeptical..but they were absolutely delicious!! Especially when paired up with the delicious bread they give you! Had steak and eggs with fries, omg!! The best steak and eggs I’ve ever had in my life! The bartenders were amazing and very communicative and comforting. Definitely coming here again!! 10/5!!! Sorry I didn’t take pictures of the steak and eggs, I very much inhaled that food lol oh and the fries were spectacular too! Perfect amount of crunchy, crispy and flavorful!

Great outdoor seating area, great staff, and amazing food. First time trying escargot and I was really impressed. I wanted to drink the broth that the mussells came in. Delicious meal. 10/10 would recommend. The manager was even nice enough to buy us a second round of drinks!

What an amazing discovery. Great atmosphere, wide menu selection, welcoming and professional service. Every dish we tried left us curving to return for more. My personal surprise was a blood sausage. I tried plenty of them cooked Slavic style, but one we had in Cafe du Soleil - best of the best!!!

We had the best time here! Everything was so tasty and well-prepared. We started with peach bourbon and raspberry ginger cocktails—both super fresh, flavorful, and a great size. For food, we had the French onion soup, butternut squash soup, Hachis Parmentier Au Four (a French take on shepherd’s pie), and a croque madame. Every dish was perfectly seasoned—not too salty or sweet, just really good, comforting food. For dessert, we split an apple tart, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—flaky, warm, and so delicious. The staff was really friendly, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We’ll definitely be back!

I am a longstanding fan of Cafe du Soleil. They have an extensive menu, and the food is good and well priced for the quality. No one should expect Michelin-star gastronomy, this is solid bistro cuisine, and they do that well. The happy hour is an exceptional value, and I don't know how they make money, but having to be at the (tight) bar does a pretty good job of rationing service, so either come early or be willing to stand. I particularly relish the fact that the staff here are willing to tolerate my terrible French. This is a place I bring my friends and family, and look forward to doing so for a long time to come!

Found this quaint french cafe as I was walking along Broadway and stopped in for a quick drink and bite. It was late evening, and the ambiance of the night and the dim lights gave a summer evening glow. The bartender made me an old fashion that was one of the best I've had so far. I tried the Calamari, but it wasn't a total hit as some pieces were overly crispy and tasted oily. I also had a salad that was pretty good. The service was pretty good. Food came fast, and the bartender was pretty cool. I loved how he switched up his accent from french to english and knew his customers by name, which seemed to be neighborhood folks. Definitely plan to try this place again to get a better taste of their entrees. I would recommend it for a date night, or if you're looking for an outdoor cafe to have a few drinks with friends.

Always good food and friendly service. Their outdoor pods are great. They spray down with an aerosol disinfectant between diners and each has a small personal heater that keeps the pod warm. They took our order through the pod so there was minimal opening. I felt very safe.

Hidden gem of a brunch spot on the upper realms of the Upper West Side! $6 brunch cocktails, strong coffee, and a wide range of egg /savory and sweet brunch dishes (crepes!) in the $14-18 range. The rosemary potatoes that come with the benedicts are great. Snag a reservation on OpenTable or try to walk in depending on how busy of a weekend it is. Cute French decor and very nice servers/staff. Update 2/15/18: knocking my review down from 5 stars to 4 stars after Valentine’s Day- we made a reservation here and were not told until we walked in that there was only a $59/person prix fixe menu available for the holiday, no regular menu. We left and dined elsewhere. Since we made the res through OpenTable which has all my contact info, it would’ve been super easy for Cafe du Soleil to email or call me to warn me about the menu. $59 is also extremely overpriced for a prix fixe here and didn’t include alcohol.

The atmosphere was nice and clean with a crisp french vibe. Music was fitting. The mussels were amazing, get the one with bacon. The drinks were strong and the watermelon infused vodka is so good. Branzino is the best we have had in NYC. It comes whole just how we like it. The creamy spinach was my favorite. We would have given 5 stars but our waiter was not attentive at all. He took our order and we saw him an hour later only because we stopped him and accused him of ignoring. Other than that it was a pleasant experience

UPDATE: I decided to give this restaurant another chance since I was shopping in the area and I am glad I did. The food was fresh and relatively flavorful. The mashed potatoes reminded me of my late mom's cooking. They were exquisite with the right amount of milk, cheese and seasoning. My grilled salmon was unfortunately quite bland and could have used some seasoning. Service was excellent. REVIEW FROM 1 YEAR AGO (1 star rating): I ordered the hachis parmentier and the Bourgogne snails from seamless and the food I received was unnaceptable. The snails did not taste fresh, the meat in the hachis parmentier was dry and there was very little to no mash potatoes on top. Do you serve leftovers to customers who order online!? I am extremely disappointed at Café du Soleil. REVIEW FROM 4 YEARS AGO (4 stars rating): Brunch was tasty. Café du soleil serves authentic French dishes using very fresh ingredients. The coq au vin was flavorful and the savory crêpe as well. The Bellini was good; I just wish they had an unlimited drinks option.

Nice atmosphere with French background music that is pleasant to hear. For Sunday's brunch, they had on the menu hash browns that were tasty - I recommend them. Both the impossible burger and the french fries were just okay. But the chocolate mousse is special - I loved its taste and freshness. I was impressed by the server's knowledge of the menu, which helped in avoiding the fettuccini, because it contained chicken stock. However, I was a bit disappointed that he didn't fill up my sparkling water nor did he ask if I was enjoying my meal. I don't think I'll come back unless there are no other options.

The rumors are true: best HH in the neighborhood. It’s not even debatable. The food is solid. Items that are on replay: sardines, any of the muscles, the burger, calamari… there’s more, but the martinis have my memory pause. Adult beverages are solid, especially the martinis @ HH. It’s the truth, baby Ruth. Desserts are mid. Eat another appetizer, instead. Life is too short for mid food and your stomach is too small, choose wisely.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was also very attentive, with reasonable prices. However, we had 4 different steaks and unfortunately while they were all cooked perfectly the actual quality of the meat was quite low and none of us enjoyed it. This could have been a one time thing however I have to mention it. That being said our appetizers were delicious.

Very pleasant experience at Cafe du Soleil. We were there for mussels night and it was great. First, the host: our reservation was for 7:30 but by mistake we got there at 7:00 and he did not flinch. The place was almost full but he seated us right away. Next was the waiter: charming man from Spain who was extremely accommodating when we told him we were going to have just drinks while waiting for our friend at 7:30. In other restaurants they would have given you attitude for holding the table. Mussels we great (several choices, I chose saffron, a friend chose lemon). The way by the glass (included I the prix fixe) was fair, not great. But we also ordered a bottle and it was fine. Desserts were delicious and abundant portions. All in all, a very good experience

Saturday brunch walk-in with the place filled to 40% capacity. Very chill vibes and French/Paris eatery setup with nice bright interiors. I wish their draught selection was wider, but the Kronenbourg pint they had on tap was chilled and went down pretty easy! For food, we got linguine with butter for out little butter cakes, Moroccan Sandwich ($19) with Spicy Lamb Sausage. The French Baguette was pretty hard to eat but the sausage was good. The winner of the table though was an excellent Vegetarian Avocado Toast ($19). The Yellow and Red Cherry tomatoes and onions just elevated the taste to the next level for me! Service was slightly slow in terms of our drinks. Food however arrived within 20 mins of ordering. I can see Cafe Du Soleil become our regular brunch spot, especially whenever I am craving their amazing Avocado Toast!

I like the atmosphere at this French bistro and the food is surprisingly good. Note there is a French attitude towards service here even though we're on the UWS. They don't respond well to any modifications or special requests - forget about any issues you have with your order. If you stick to French classics and don't ask for anything special you should be good 👌 and it's an enjoyable meal.

We had a diner with a friend couple, and were very disappointed. Music is loud, there was a lot of noise. We couldn’t talk. And the food is not great, snails too cooked and too salty, lamb was flavorless, chicken was dry. The wine was good! Won’t come back

Nicholas Martucci

Servers gave the wrong order. The restaurant is too loud, food is ok at best. Cups were chipped and dirty. Only redeeming qualities are the make-up dessert for the mess up and drinks - pretty strong

Our waiter wasn’t friendly or attentive to us. The eggs and meat weren’t cooked which resulted in one friends to vomit right on the table. Another waiter was really friendly and continue serve us to make our meal at least pleasant from a service perspective. I would say skip, this is subpar food.

Our experience was not what I hoped it would be. I was looking forward to dining here. We had to wait over an hour for our food, although we ordered right away, and there were only 4 other couples in the restaurant at the time. There were lots of empty seats. Perhaps the waitress forgot to place our order. She didn't acknowledge that she did either until I asked her about it after watching other people who were seated after us getting their meals. I enjoyed my meal although it arrived very late. My husband didn't enjoy his at all. Lastly, the place could use a good cleaning. The bathrooms were atrocious, and the walls, floors, and decor had grime and grease on them. The entire place needs to be hosed down...Powerwashed and wiped down. My husband and I made the best of it and will try them again someday.

Food and prices were very good. Service was weird. Two different servers were assigned to our table and neither payed attention to us. Very slow too.

Meh. Atmosphere is great. Food and drinks were ok. Nothing tasted seasoned really, my toast was a little burned and my espresso martini tasted different than normal. I feel like it's priced right. Quick and lovely service staff.

First time leaving a review. I loved this place ever since I found it this past July. Unfortunately the service and servings have gone down quite a bit. As a business owner I completely understand cutting costs but I think that the owner could have cared a little more as to how he dealt with it. First picture is their servings July & August ....second serving was today. I was told that is the new serving. Maybe care a little about your usual clients....I would have paid a little more for the dish ( as I understand mussels are seasonal). Sever was nice and helpful but unfortunately this was a disappointment.

I mean, technically I got what I ordered (“Black Angus Beef on Sesame Brioche Bun, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickle, Garlic Fries”), but it just doesn’t look a burger you’d expect from a French restaurant. Full disclosure, i asked to leave out the lettuce and make it medium-well, but still…

You can dine outside in a bubble which is a fun experience and a great way to keep warm as the temperatures get colder. The food was lackluster and a bit bland, but there is a nice special on mussels.

Food has gotten worse over the years, but the menu is nice so I keep coming back for now. Service is nice but it takes a long time for food to come out.

Loud place in a convenient area with nice waiters and mediocre food. Super loud. It’s Tuesday but yeah we sat outside to be able to talk. Salmon dish should be taken off the menu. The crab/avocado app and the arugula salad were good. Maybe I’d go back for a glass of wine or something if there were outdoor seats. Still had a great time with lovely company.

The drinks were great and the server was nice and attentive! However some of the food was a bit disappointing. The mushroom soup wasn't creamy enough. The crab cake burger was cold and instead of crab cake it was just crab meat mixed with some sauce. Also, the garlic fries had very little garlic powder spread on the top only....i expected the garlic to be spread out evenly.

Food was mediocre. raw veggies in cooked meal, not seasoned properly, store bought white sandwich bread. Expected more for the prices. Paid 70$ for two meals and one drink

I really wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating. 3 is being completely fair. We came with family over the holiday and dined in an outdoor heated bubble. We like those :) The service was friendly, appetisers and cocktails were also lovely. We had the mussels, fries, French onion soup and the frisée avocado salad. The problem with was everything else ordered was just so-so or inedible. The biggest issue for me was my Boeuf Bourguignon. I was excited to have this but the beef was very tough! I actually sent it back expecting the chef to at least pick out some tender pieces. It was still tough. I just did not eat it. Also, the Le Cassoulet Toulousain was basically just a big dish of white beans with a few pieces of meat. You really must love baked white beans to enjoy this dish. The lamb leg however was Okei and the asparagus risotto was a true French risotto (meaning it has a little crunch to it) I do not personally mind that, however worth mentioning in case some people do not. Again, appetisers and drinks were a big hit with myself and family! Would go just for that :)

Drinks were pretty good and a fantastic happy hour deal. French onion soup was so great. But beware the “Burrata et avocado salad” for it is literally just 3 slices of avocado, 3 slivers of tomato, and 3 individual roasted garlic cloves. Not what we were expecting for something called a salad. An important heads up if you’re planing to go for happy hour: you can *only* sit in this one designated roped-off section with wobbly high top table and stools, directly underneath a large TV, right beside the front entrance. Even if you order a main dish from the main menu instead of the Happy Hour menu, even if the rest of the normal table are empty, they will not let you sit outside that section.

We enjoyed sitting here for brunch, the atmosphere and the service were great although the food was just OK.

Steak is chewy. Lemonade glass is small. Please save your money and do not go to this restaurant

Awful cocktails - how is it possible to mess up a martini so badly that it gets sent back, and is replaced by one just as bad, that tasted like the gin was diluted? The restaurant is extremely noisy and while the endive salad was good, both entrees (lamb shank and boeuf bourguignon) were mediocre and definitely not worth the effort it took to get to the UWS. The service, however, was excellent and our very hardworking waiter remained cheerful and helpful throughout our complaints. No return visit, I am afraid.

I came here with intent—looking forward to sitting by the door and people watch while I ate a tasty meal, but things went sour quick. First, the host handed me the menu while looking at and speaking to someone else. Then, I had to wait some 7 minutes for a cup of coffee (meanwhile this guy who came after me got his coffee at the same time). Then I saw that same guy get his order before mine even though I ordered first (we’re all ordering eggs here). Then I had to wait another 15 minutes for my order of baked eggs on avocado toast which came out cold. Supposedly, this is how it comes out, so I guess I should’ve asked? It was an unpleasant experience for me, which is disappointing bc it’s close to home and I was hoping it could be my new Sunday brunch spot. For context, I’m a melanated 50 year old woman and the guy who came after me and got everything before me was an older white male.

Made a reservation on Resy for 9:45pm. Got a call 6 hours before the reservation saying they close the kitchen at 9:45pm sharp…. Don’t post reservations you can’t honor, it’s extremely inconsiderate of your customers. Now I need to find another place at the last minute. Just be aware if you book this place, don’t count of them to be reliable. You may get a call the day of telling you they won’t honor your reservation.

lovely bistro with european vibes. that being said, my 3 year old son makes better pancakes without burning them.

Poor food quality and extremely rude waiters. I came with my friend to celebrate her birthday, which it turned out to be her worst birthday ever. Table clothes and utensils are dirty, apparently nobody in the restaurant cares about hygiene. When my friend mentioning to the waiter about the table clothes, instead of apologizing, he said" why don't you mention it earlier?" Then my friend talked to the manager (probably the owner) about the waiter's attitude and dirty table clothes, the manager got mad and said "ok that's enough, just leave". And he also said " good luck with your life". My friend said" that's fine, we won't come back again". The manager then followed us outside and said "just go away, we don't need people like you!" The manager even stepped on my shoes without apologizing... What an amazing restaurant Food: 1. Foie gras is unfresh and disgusting... Smell like rotten meat. 2. Fish and lamb are tasteless and dry. 3. Even their French fries are bad... Taste like oven made frozen French fries. Now I just want to quote the manager's word " good luck with your life" to the restaurant.

This was the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Walking in as on an international FaceTime call A waiter politely asked me to hang up the phone FaceTime meeting it. It was the approach felt so disrespected! Than you for your terrible service.

Excellent service, but I can't say the same about the food. We ordered onion soup, pâté, branzino, a burger, and mussels. The branzino was bad, and by bad I mean it smelled bad and tasted worse. We had to send it back. As for the mussels, in my opinion, they were poorly prepared. They were submerged in butter. I’m not sure where in France they prepare them like this, but I've been there quite a few times, and I've never seen that. The onion soup was very good, and the pâté was average. I can't consider it good French food.

I was really disappointed with my experience. The food was below average bland, poorly prepared, and not worth the price. It felt rushed and lacked quality. The service was even more frustrating. Staff seemed uninterested, inattentive, and not welcoming. We had to wait longer than expected, and no one checked in to see if everything was okay.

If ignorance were a service style, this place would have perfected it. The host and waitstaff managed to be consistently rude, unhelpful, and dismissive, with that very modern “we don’t care and you’re annoying for asking” attitude. Not blunt or charming, just entitled and lazy. The environment didn’t help. The restaurant felt grimy, rodent infested, and poorly kept, which made the staff’s attitude even harder to tolerate. When you combine questionable cleanliness with zero customer care, it really makes you wonder how this place is still operating. For somewhere that depends on paying customers, you’d think basic politeness wouldn’t be such a stretch. Apparently it is. Plenty of better, cleaner, friendlier options nearby. I’d recommend choosing literally any of them. Nice of the establishment to respond. Try to take accountability please. I saw a rat in the ladies’ room, which is beyond unacceptable for a place serving food. Customers deserve basic cleanliness and safety.

Ordered on uber eats October 4 around 4 in the afternoon. Missing a drink, fries were old and cold, bottom of bag fell out as soon as l lifted it from the counter. Burger bacon was raw. No toppings as described (Lettuce tomato pickles etc). Mousse was warm. Onion Soup was tasteless.
