Opinions de Living Thai New York
Very good food and customer service. Basil fried rice and drunken noodles were amazing. We ordered vegetarian and they were caring enough to replace a soup that had fish sauce in it even without asking. Highly recommended!
This is the best Thai restaurant in uptown manhattan in terms of food and price. Excellent food with very cheap price. Strongly recommend the lunch special.
My favorite Thai spot in town. Delicious food, fair prices, generous portions, kind staff. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
The server was very attentive to our needs! The music was great and at the right volume. My partner and I shared a meal and had left overs! The sticky coconut rice was so sweet! The roasted duck and the pineapple fried rice was full of flavor! Last but not least the Lemon Thai Iced Tea was different but did not disappoint! 10/10 would definitely come back!
Very good Thai place, I'm honestly surprised by the cost and value. Lunch is amazing at 9.99 for a dish and a side. Everything is done well and prepared well. Their spice scale probably runs a bit on the high side. Indians will be happy with the "spicy." Medium if you don't want to burn.
Par for the course for a Thai restaurant with a good selection of the typical favorites at reasonable prices (ie, chicken pad Thai for $12.99). My family and I went there on a Wednesday night around 8p and there were no other diners at the time. Lots of take out it appears. Service was descent. The Indian restaurant next door, on the other hand, was packed at the same time. Note for a family of 3, they charged a mandatory 18% gratuity. I’m all for giving a gratuity but when you aren’t informed of it and it’s mandatory, then it’s not really a gratuity and more of an additional service fee. For the items below and a couple of appetizers, total bill ran us about $ 75 for 3. Area around the restaurant appeared safe to walk around.
We had 7:30 reservation but at least for Saturday it was still pretty open. The kitchen was very busy with pickup orders and their phone continued to ring. They must be popular. People started to show up by 8:00PM. We ordered Tom Yum shrimp soup along with Penang Curry with chicken and pad Thai chicken. Service was quick but server was doing everything including taking phone orders plus serving internal customers. She was very efficient but appeared a little rushed up. It could be some difference in preparation but Tom Yum soup but didn’t had the same bite we are used to. I would recommend this place. It is right on Amsterdam.
I ordered the shumai which was delicious. The chef added some chopped nuts on top which added some interesting crunchy texture. For my entre, I ordered pad thai with chicken which was delicious and rich. my only complaint about the experience was that there was no air conditioning which was annoying on a hot summer day.
Living Thai was a cute casual place. My coworkers and I came for lunch today and were happy with our experience. The food tasted great, the place was clean, and had simple cute decor. Prices were reasonable and service was relatively quick. It was busy with many take out orders but we also went during lunch time. My order was the drunken noodles with shrimp- had great flavor, hot, and with some spice to it👌🏼
I ordered from Living Thai on a weekday for lunch. They have a lunch specials menu with several options to choose from, I selected the red curry with a side of shumai. Upon placing my order online, I received a phone call shortly after notifying me that the restaurant ran out of shumai, and I was presented with some alternative options for my side instead. I selected the chicken pot stickers. I think my order was prepped in record time for any pickup order that I have ever picked up from. Because once I hung up the phone I was already on my way out to go pick up my lunch. The pickup process was pretty seamless, the establishment prefers cash payments. My red curry was flavorful and the chicken pot stickers tasted like any normal chicken pot sticker, but the nice part about it was that it wasn't too oily. I would say for Thai takeout orders in this area, this place probably serves smaller portions when compared to their local competitors. Overall, this is a nice option for a lunch special if you don't mind smaller portions. The staff is very friendly and I wouldn't mind trying out a meal at the restaurant one day, since it looks pretty clean and inviting.
Better food and service than at competitor Thai Market a few blocks away. They have a good lunch special. The interior of the restaurant and the tables are all very clean. If I had one criticism to offer, I thought the dishes had a bit too much salt. Both my Tom Kha soup and Drunken Noodles would have been better with a bit less salt. Other than that, I look forward to trying other dishes here in the future.
Extremely bad, aggressive and unprofessional behavior by staff. There is this lady who was the waitress who was serving the food on 31 Jan when I checked in between 12:30 pm and 1:15 pm. It was all great untill the cheque came. I saw "gratuity" of 18 % which was essentially tip. I don't mind paying tip but when I objected to that, she turned so aggressive, very rudely said - "don't come here again" and made another bill. I wanted to tip but to my own accord and this behavior made me actually not tip. Is that how you talk to a customer that walks into a restaurant and wants to tip on his own accord. Her last parting words were - "please don't come here again", well I said "don't want to come here again". She turned instability aggressive (her body language was so charged up angrily) when I simply said "I want to decide the tip" and this is wrong to charge a tip upfront on the cheque. A tip is a privilege and dollar amount of person according to how much he wants to pay. We are responsible for paying salaries of your employees. A rude and aggressive behavior doesn't deserve ti at all.
