Opinions de La Masseria Broadway
The food and people were top notch. My husband had the truffle pork chop and I ordered the chicken and sausage. These were cooked perfectly (not over done; juicy) and very delicious flavors. It's rustic Italian and done great. Bug portions, you won't go away hungry. Staff was very attentive and nice! With a glass of wine, a salad, an entrée and dessert, it will be roughly $100/person. We anticipated that and was not disappointed at all. Worth it for a great dinner date! I would go again.
Showed up with no reservations but they found a spot for the 2 of us. Service was prompt and courteous, server was very helpful. Food was fantastic as was the wine and the atmosphere.
The service here was perfect, we walked in it was really busy and they were still so accommodating and I cannot recommend this place enough. We sat upstairs and had two waiters assigned solely to our area of 4 tables. They never let our drinks get low and service was excellent!!!
Food and service were amazing. I particularly enjoyed the stuffed eggplant appetizer, and the ricotta cheesecake (sounds odd, but really excellent and great texture) Don’t miss!
Wonderful place to eat, fast service with HIGH Quality Food. Amazing personalized service, everyone treated us like we were Kings and Queens. Definitely worth the visit.
I recently had lunch at La Masseria with family members. We were treated like family. The food is excellent: tasty and beautifully presented on the dish. We had several appetizers. My brother and I had the Granotto con fagioli e frutti di mare. It brought back memories of Rutigliano. Bravo, Pino Coladonato! Complimenti e grazie!
From the warm, professional welcome to the moment we were seated at a perfect outdoor table, we knew we’d made the right choice. Once our server arrived and cheerfully shared the specials, we were certain dinner was going to be a treat. The ambiance? Lovely. The service? Absolutely top-notch. And the food—simply to die for. All of this at a price that’s more than fair. Run—don’t walk—to La Masseria!
Wow! Tears of joy and happiness are an understatement when you eat here. Let me paint a picture for you all. After walking over 17 miles from WTC to the MET, and then back towards times square, I was in dire need of nourishment. On pure chance of walking by, I walked into La Masseria to be greeted by Vitto. I asked if there was a table and if it was ok to eat here with a T-shirt on (for the record, if he said no I would have respected this - which is why I asked first) We were seated outside, under the heat lamps that were affixed to the outside covering ( I asked to be seated outside) the waiter (Ronald) was straight to the point, giving suggestions, options, and explaining how they have tastings to ensure they can provide the best service. There were so many wonderful options available that it was extremely difficult to make a decision.. I went with the Bocconcini di Pollo Paesano, and my date opted for the Schiaffoni al Ragu' di Tracchiole. From the first bite to the last bite... Pure bliss. The flavor was intense but not over powering. The beef was fork tender and delicious. The Al dente pasta was spot on. Chicken and sausage were very juicy while they bathed in their light wine sauce, accompanied with peppers and mushrooms. I cried a little I cried a little more When my meal was over, (after I soaked up my tears with bread) I contemplated ordering another meal to take back to the hotel. I cried again when I realized that I could not have this tomorrow night because of my flight out of here, but I will be back!!! I will be back, hungry, willing and able. I will be back to continue to navigate my journey to try all the dishes here. So if you are ever in the neighborhood, stop in with your collared shirt, and even a pair of "hey dudes" and order away, you will not be disappointed. And thank you to everyone there. You are all wonderful..
Great Italian cuisine! You can’t go wrong here, wether you’re feeling pasta, steak, or something else it’s all delicious. This came as a recommendation from a local NYer Italian so you know it’s good. The service was excellent and attentive and the atmosphere caters for both an intimate setting and or a casual conversation with freinds.
Just when you think outstanding Italian restaurants were a thing of the past or only downtown, you learn about the wonderful La Masseria on 48th street NYC. Everything about our experiece, food and service was superb! An Italian trattoria, located in the heart of Times Square, perfect for the our post broadway (MJ) show. Seated immediately (with a reservation) - warm plates and a perfectly set table awaited us with such attention to detail. LaMasseria truly knows the meaning of service with waiters anticipating every need throughtout the meal. Chef Pino and waiter Giuseppe just made our experience delightful. Our selected food was to die for (See pictures) - My lamb shank was the best I ever had and fell off the bone with lightest touch of my fork. Pasta disches , salad and appetizers were truly amazing. The surroundings at atmosphere - perfect. I highly recommend La Masseria while in NYC, you won't be sorry! We want to thank our friend Mike G. for the recommendation and hospitality.
We had a wonderful lunch with family from oversees. The food and service were excellent. We were never rushed and enjoyed a family type atmosphere which was perfect for our family get together.
Love it here. Our go to Italian whether it be for date night, or before/after a broadway show. Took our 6 year old autistic daughter here as well last year after Radio City Christmas Spectacular and she absolutely loved it as well. They made her feel right at home and welcomed.
Recommend 10/10!! Went here on a Sunday night with three of my friends. I can definitely say with confidence this deserves five stars. We ordered burrato, calamari, and a ceaser salad for appetizers. All were delicious and well prepared. The service was incredible and had a personal touch to it. The waiter spoke Italian, Spanish, and English which was very helpful for those in my party. My friends and I ordered pasta dishes and a chicken parm. I loved my dish and so did they, we agreed the meals all tasted fresh and authentic. For dessert we got tiramisu and cheesecake. The cheesecake was astounding. My favorite dessert by far. Tiramisu was perfect. Overall I will try to revisit this amazing restaurant and enjoyed my evening! Our server Omar did not disappoint!
My husband and I met my cousins here at 7pm on 24th February, to celebrate my 60th birthday. Upon arrival, we found it to be very busy and noisy. I say noisy as I am deaf and wear hearing aids. Once I adjusted them to the surroundings, it was easier to cope with. This is "the" place to come to for your "pre theatre dinner" as situated within the Broadway/Times Square area of New York. Every table was filled, including those behind us, upstairs on the balcony. There was a constant flurry of activity around us, yet, did not seem overcrowded. We had 2 different waiters who were "very" attentive. Refilling our water glasses often. As we couldn't decide which starter to have, our host, my cousin, ordered the buratta caprese salad, bread basket and capers for the 4 of us. I would also like to point out, no pizza are on the menu. This was delicious. I'm not a fan of capers but I have to say, I would definitely have this again. For the mains, my husband had the beef bolognase. My cousin had pasta with beef, his wife also had something similar and I had the rabbit ear pasta with Italian sausage. Photo with review. I have "never" tasted anything like it. It was flavoursome without being "too much" if that makes sense? My husband is a very picky eater and I have to admit, was on tenderhooks as to whether he was going to be able to eat anything, actually came out of his comfort zone and tried new dishes. So for that alone, I'm delighted. Would we go back? 100% YES!!! I would like to thank everyone for a wonderful unforgettable evening, celebrating my 60th birthday. This was our 2nd time in New York. My second time "home"! I was born in Manhattan and raised in Scotland. This, our second visit coincided with my "meeting" my sister's, for the 1st time, having found them through Ancestry. All in all, a dream come true.
La Masseria was the perfect dinner for us tonight. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! I got the Ravioli de Angelina and it was tasty and perfect portion size. The homemade bolognese was also delicious and the pomodoro was the ideal meal if you’re looking for something light and fresh. We started with the burrata salad and some drinks. My choice was a lemon drop and it was the perfect mix between sweet and strong. On top of the great food and drinks, the service was incredible. Everyone was very kind and welcoming and took really good care of us. We opted out of dessert because we were stuffed full. Overall, such a great experience. Would definitely go back!
Overall, it was great service, and the food was impeccable. Everything was really fresh and delicious. The pasta has that "handmade by grandma" taste to it. The ragu was the best ragu I ever had at a restaurant. The table bread was perfect, and the hand-made mozzarella was delicious. I HIGHLY recommend this place for a nice date night, great atmosphere.
Dinner was incredible here! Easily the best Italian restaurant near Time Square! Made a reservation and ask if we could walk in an hour early. They kindly accommodated. The staff was 5 stars!! Super friendly! The balcony overlooking the restaurant is super cute. Tried the fettuccine with veal and mushrooms! One of the best dishes of my life! BlackBerry whiskey cocktail was also great!! Just an FYI, if you order still water, they charge you $10 for the bottle…
One of the best meals of my LIFE. This place is a godsend. My entire experience from start to finish was perfect. They happened to have a saffron risotto special on the night I went and it was out of this world. Their limoncello martini is also phenomenal. The atmosphere is lovely, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and location is convenient for seeing a Broadway show. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. Can't wait to come back!
Amazing atmosphere! Everything was very authentic! The food was delicious, and the waiter was great! It was a great experience! Very romantic and fantastic place all around! If you are in New York and want authentic delicious Italian food, you HAVE to visit here! Best Italian food I have ever had!
Truly authentic Italian cuisine and ambience, the restaurant has an old world charm with lots of detail so that you feel like you’re in an old rustic building but with tables clothes and top notice service. Every dish was over the top aromatic with unique flavors and visually stunning.
Fantastic. My wife and I were trying to grab a quick bite before our show and just stumbled to this restaurant. It was packed but our luck there were two seats left at the bar. Our bar tender was very professional and very friendly. I asked her to give us advice. She picked our food and wine ... And it was fantastic. The service was fast.. I highly recommend it. Update: We were there January 29 2022.. It's still amazing.. it's still friendly and fast service . Great atmosphere.. awesome food.
La Masseria, located at 235 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036, truly impressed all four of us. We were astounded by the exceptional quality of the food. Let me provide some context for my experience today. As someone who travels extensively, particularly within the USA due to work, I have had the opportunity to dine in some of the finest restaurants across the country. I can confidently say that the Scialatielli with wild mushrooms sauce that I had at La Masseria ranks among the top three pastas I've ever had in the USA. The presentation was understated yet elegant, the portion size was just right, and the taste was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly al dente with a subtly creamy mushroom sauce. The wine and port selection, along with the recommendations from our server, Pascuale, were impeccable. The ambiance was beautiful and cozy, with a delightful playlist softly playing in the background, making conversation easy. To top it off, the volcano dessert was simply delicious. 100% Recommended
We haven’t been there in four years, but the service and food are always excellent. The grilled calamari avocado salad was incredible. And as always, they’re fresh pasta is always above and beyond expectations
The food is outstanding and the ambience is charming and inspiring. We enjoyed the Insalata Masseria with grilled chicken and the Orecchiette Alla Bari Vecchia (which I highly recommend). Service was excellent. Add this place to your list when you visit NYC. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner.
Food was absolutely amazing. Best pasta I’ve had in NYC thus far. They make a few pastas from scratch so make sure to ask which ones! We got 2 of those meals that they make themselves. We did not get anything besides main course. The waiter wasn’t very friendly. Atmosphere was beautiful, calm, romantic. Decorated for beautifully for Christmas as well!
My family enjoyed the most amazing Italian dinner. Prior to seeing Ibsen's 'Enemy of the People' at the Circle in the Square Theatre, my siblings & parents (a party of 8) experienced delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Wonderful service (our waiter was the best), atmosphere & attention to our every request. Every bite was Italian 'comfort' food at its best! The seafood risotto was a highlight! We could not have had a better experience for our first group dinner in NYC - thank you
Great spot for fine dining. Warm service. Sparkling clean- and that’s impressive considering the volume that this place does daily. Great wine menu. Very spacious and inviting. The food is amazing and features a wide variety of regional specialties. The patio is spacious. There is a large back room that’s semi private with two levels, the back room seats about 60 (40 downstairs and 14 upstairs).
Wow! This place is amazing. Came in Wednesday around noon, party of 6. The place was packed with the pre-theater matinee diners (and probably extra busy because its the holiday season) and was buzzing. The service is spectacular. They have a well oiled machine and know exactly what they're doing to make sure nothing goes wrong. I was so impressed watching all the staff whiz around the restaurant. They start you off with a complimentary bread basket. We started with 3 appetizers - the burrata special, mozzarella farcita dello chef (homemade fresh mozzarella cheese stuffed with sweet roast peppers & marinated eggplant, served with fresh tomatoes & basil) and the calamari. Everything was excellent. Plenty of food for us 6 and still had leftovers. For an entrees I had the agnolotti piemontesi - homemade veal & parmesan cheese ravioli with wild mushrooms sauce. Devine! A must. My colleagues raved about their homemade potato gnocchi with radicchio & taleggio cheese sauce which also looked so great. Cocktails all around were wonderful. Ordered a few desserts - tiramisu was a standout! If you are looking for a great place to eat this holiday season with family and friends add this to your list. You wont be disappointed!
We made reservations weeks in advance. We were seated right away and offered to check our coats. They also confirmed if we were seeing a show and at what time, which was nice so they could ensure we left in time for our show. Service was excellent, very attentive and the food was delicious. I recommend the mozzarella/eggplant appetizer, roasted red peppers wrapped in fresh mozzarella on top of thinly sliced smoked eggplant, fished with Olive oil and fresh basil. My salmon entree was perfectly cooked. For Dessert some of us had tiramisu and others had the sorbet, both good. Coincidentally it was restaurant week so the 3 courses only cost us $45/pp. Only thing is They did not offer this menu, we had to ask. So my guess is if you didn't know, you'd miss out. The drinks were around $18 per cocktail but skillfully crafted and packed a punch that justifies the price Imo. One thing that was not so great is that there are only 2 single bathrooms. Overall, good food and cute decor. We will be back.
Brought my dad for dinner during Father’s Day weekend. We were greeted promptly and sat inside towards the back. Our server Alejandro was extremely attentive, kind and helpful. We ordered the salad with the balsamic vinegar, he had the fettuccini special which included squid ink pasta, crab meat and shrimp, and I had the veal scallopinie. For dessert we ended with tiramisu, espresso, a cappuccino and the cheesecake. Everything was delicious and the portions were great! Would definitely recommend.
10000/10 Amazing experience at La Masseria!! The hostess was pleasant and accommodating. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and the food and drinks were the best part. Our drinks were impeccable, the espresso martini is unmatched !!! We had the fried zucchini and burrata to share as our starters. The waiter Omar was so nice and had nice conversations with us and was knowledgeable about the menu, even though we took our time to order. Sciallatelli, Linguine alle Vongole, and Risotto seafood were absolutely delicious. We saved room for dessert and ordered their tiramisu and crème brûlée. Wonderful food in a wonderful place, this experience was worth every penny.
Our reviews had over 56 million views in the last 12 months. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love La Masseria. This is some perfect Italian food. I had carbonara and she had pasta with meat sauce. Both were fantastic. Went at 8 pm and busy so make a reservation. Both desserts were off the hook fantastic. Photos are attached. We also had appetizers and both were very very good. This is a place we will return to over and over again for sure. The burrata is very creamy and the meatball is HUGE. One can easily be shared. I'm getting hungry just looking at my photos again!!!! Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. After a Broadway show, I had the pleasure of dining at La Masseria, and it was an absolute 5-star experience. We sat in the loft area toward the back, where the service was nothing short of phenomenal—attentive, warm, and truly top-tier. We started with the stuffed eggplant with smoked mozzarella, which was simply to die for. For my entrée, I had the gluten-free penne pasta (without bacon), and my friend enjoyed the large rigatoni pasta with short rib ragout—both dishes were cooked to perfection. Even though I was stuffed, we couldn’t resist trying the warm apple tarts with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream—delicious, though I had to take the rest of my pasta to go. Oh, and let’s talk about the breads—fabulous! This place is a true gem, and I’m already planning my next visit. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We chose this place because the reviews were great and it was open late! Sometimes when a restaurant is open late you don't get incredible quality but this wasn't the case here. All the food we ordered was incredible. We were especially blown away by the ravioli and the seafood risotto. The service was impeccable too. Would definitely come back here if it was late and I wanted reliably good italian food!
What a wonderful dining experience. Everything. They accommodated us by giving us a different table The kind bartender. The wonderful ambiance. We couldn’t have been happier about our experience… And that doesn’t even begin to talk about the food! Simply amazing!!! The bread with lentils and infused rosemary olive oil was divine. The burrata special, with smoked prosciutto, was wonderful. Next came frisée salad and bolognese (which we split). Don’t let the $$$ star scare you off to this gem. You will not go away hungry if you split meals. Our server, Alejandro, was as equally good as the food, if not better. Our total bill was $140 and that included a couple drinks…a deal for good food in New York.
I just have to share our amazing experience today! My son and I had lunch at La Masseria on 48th before our show, and everything from the food to the service was absolutely top-notch. The dishes were delicious, and the entire staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We had one dish we barely touched, so I asked for it to-go. When we got to the theatre, they wouldn’t allow any food inside even sealed. I rushed back and asked if the restaurant could hold it for us until after the show, and without hesitation, the manager said, “Of course.” That simple act truly blew me away. In all my dining experiences, I’ve rarely encountered this level of first-class customer service. I’m so glad we made a last-minute decision to dine here. A huge thank-you to the host, our servers, and the manager( on the 3pm shift, mi dispiace for not getting your names...), you’ve absolutely earned a customer for life! If you're looking for an unforgettable meal and exceptional hospitality, La Masseria is the place to go!
The food was the best Italian I've ever had. The berate was amazing and the pene was amazing. They tried to bring our main course out before the appetizer. Then after they brought the appetizer they didn't bring the main course out until 30 minutes later. By the time the main course came my wife was no longer hungry.
Excellent food and tea. The mozzarella appetizer is super fresh. The pasta is home made, fresh, and is very flavorful. The tiramisu is delicious and not overly sweet. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. If cost was not a consideration, I would rank them among the top 3 best Italian restaurants I have had in New York, and that's saying something.
The service was great. The restaurant was well designed and nice inside. They were very friendly and attentive. The cocktails were creative and well put together. The fusilli bolognese and short rib ragout were both very good. The only disappointing part of the meal was the appetizer. The fried calamari and shrimp was underwhelming. The shrimp was not good at all. The calamari was not really tender.
Dined at La Masseria while in NYC with work colleagues, and the experience was outstanding. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance; approachable upscale, with a polished yet comfortable vibe that invites you to settle in and enjoy. The staff were exceptional from start to finish; genuinely warm, attentive without hovering, and clearly committed to creating a top-notch dining experience. A special shout-out to Alexander behind the bar, an absolute master of his craft. His cocktails were as thoughtful and balanced as they were delicious, and his charisma added something special to the evening. Food, service, ambiance, it all hit the mark. Highly recommend for business dinners, date nights, or anyone who appreciates quality Italian cuisine served with heart. We’ll definitely be back!
The food and service I received were terrific. They offer a variety of italian options with reasonable portions. The espresso martinis were especially enjoyed by my group. I also recommend their homemade fettuccini with eggplant. Reservations are recommended and I recommend dressing up somewhat (not super formal but not sweats).
My husband and friends and I went to La Masseria NYC for the early NYE seating, and everything was fantastic from start to finish. The food was incredibly fresh, the atmosphere was lively and festive, and while they definitely know how to pack the place (seating was a little tight), it added to the New Year’s energy. Our server Omar was wonderful—super nice, attentive, and on top of everything despite how busy it was. The salted caramel espresso martinis were to die for. We started with the calamari and shrimp appetizer, cooked to absolute perfection (sadly forgot to take a pic 😅). I ordered the spinach gnocchi, and it was hands down the fluffiest, most delicious dish I’ve ever had. My husband got the spicy chicken, and they were happy to substitute double mashed potatoes since he’s not a fan of spinach—such a thoughtful touch. Truly, nothing was a flop. Can’t wait to come back and try even more from the menu. Highly recommend! 🍸🍝✨
We hadn’t been there in 2 years. We went to lunch with 6 adults & 3 kids. The servings are large so some of us split entrees. The Caesar salad was the best I’ve ever had. The spaghetti bolognese was excellent. Also, had chicken Alfredo, chicken Parmesan, spaghetti carbonara, & dessert. Everyone said their entrees were excellent. The atmosphere was cozy & the service outstanding. Love this restaurant & highly recommend.
The waiter staff is knowledgeable on food and drinks and most personable. The food, great presentation, good portions and extremely flavorful. It was like being back in Italy. Have recommend it to friends and got back positive feedback. Will definitely stop there again when in New York.
La Masserie is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, the warm atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into an authentic Italian countryside farmhouse. The service is attentive and welcoming without ever feeling rushed, which makes the dining experience even more special. The food is exceptional — fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The pasta is perfectly cooked, the seafood is fresh, and the sauces are rich and balanced. Every dish feels like it was made with care. The wine list is also impressive, with options that pair wonderfully with the menu. For dessert, I highly recommend trying the tiramisu — light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Whether you’re coming for a romantic dinner, a family celebration, or a night out with friends, La Masserie delivers an unforgettable experience. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.
can’t you tell we hated it? lol! my family and i came after seeing a show today and it was incredible! my family is made up of proud italian-americans and we were all so impressed with the food and the service! five of the six of us had a dish from today’s special. everyone in the party enjoyed our entire meal and dessert. not a single bite left on anyone’s plate!
Terrific choice for dinner. Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. Our server, Diego, was very engaging and pleasant and knowledgeable. The cocktails were perfect, as was the food. The place is noisy with happy patrons, but not too noisy to have a conversation. Very relaxing, enjoyable dinner. ♿️
Had a lovely time dining here with my significant other. Very fancy restaurant. Service was great and food came out at a decent pace. Food was super yummy, although, I found myself still a bit hungry after. It worked out for me because i had a lot of walking to do after. Flavors were incredible, textures were just right. Will definitely come again when we are around the area for a special occasion. I recommend!
Absolute perfection! We picked this place on a whim a few days earlier and so glad we did. We had a reservation, but we opted to sit at the bar. We got appetizers and drinks. The bartender was fantastic - he made some great recommendations for food and was on the spot with the service! We split everything, and things even came out on 2 plates so we didn't have to try to figure out how to best separate. A little extra thought really does go a long way. Great vibe and atmosphere. Amazing location in the heart of the theater district. Will definitely be back!

Terrific family dinner for a birthday in NYC. We were a bit wary because of the proximity to Times Square but the restaurant was splendid. Lovely Barolo wine, burrata appetizer, 3 pastas and a chee…
This restaurant is fantastic. We had a lovely meal with great service and ambiance. We would definitely return the next time we are in New York. Great menu.
Excellent food, service, wine, couldn't be bettered! Was busy but unsurprising considering the quality of the whole experience Definitely would go again
We visited here this week while celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The food and wine were excellent - special risotto and pasta with a homemade meat sauce. We were looked after by a great w…
Great italian spot in midtown. Ambiance is nice, service is excellent. Food is always good. Wine list is a little expensive, but still good choices.
It was good but we had better during our New York trip! I had the veal and my daughter had a pasta dish!
The restaurant is very nice!! Awesome spot and great location right before watching Hamilton Broadway show. It's just a couple minutes away walking distance. Restaurant is beautiful and feels up scale. Small and quaint. Food was really delicious! Be mindful pretty much all protein is a separate dish than pasta. My sisters ordered chicken parmesan which was served with potatoes and broccoli, which I think is a bit of an odd combo but the chicken actually was extremely delicious. I ordered risotto which came with no protein at all, and was served with sliced pears. Also a strange combo, but the risotto was also extremely delicious. My sisters gave me a piece of their chicken (as it was a really big piece) and I can say that with my risotto were something I'd go back just to eat. Service was good and you are well attended for. Pricey restaurant but that's what you expect when eating in the city. If you're going for the experience and a light lunch, this restaurant will suit. Would make for a nice date night as well. I'd go back again for a special occassion! We spent about $250 (pre tip) for 3 people and that included appetizer, 1 glass of sangria each, and 2 desserts.
La Masseria was a nice dining experience. I came with some friends while in town on business. Waiters were friendly, service was about what you would expect for a restaurant of this caliber however, I do think it is generally overpriced for the value. Fortunately, my group dined off the restaurant week menu and saved a few bucks. There are a variety of interesting authentic Italian dishes and fascinating La Masseria takes on others. Tiramisu was amazing, the chicken was flavorful, my water was never empty. Overall, I would return if only to try a few more dishes.
The price point is a bit on the wild side even for Times Square. Apps are 20-30 and mains 30-40 or more, desserts are 17. I did enjoy their wheat (I think?) risotto with seafood but I wouldn't say it's a wow dish that's worth coming back again and again.
This place has good food at reasonable prices for midtown Manhattan near the theater district. We split a Chicken Parmigiana and got a side of broccoli rabe. Both were quite good. Their pre meal bread was good but was served with lentils in olive oil. Certainly an interesting idea, but difficult to get the lentils on the bread. Service was very good and the atmosphere is nice. This is not a Manhattan restaurant where you feel you are jammed into a tight spot. We skipped dessert since we only went for lunch.
great spot for a proper date. we were recommended this spot by our hotel concierge for an authentic italian w cozy vibes/not try-too-hard and it delivered. the staff were funny and friendly yet extremely professional. unfortunately, to my regret, we didn't get to try their pasta as it was super late when we got there (and who eats carbs at 11 PM? [the italian inside of u is screaming at me en, SIA]) , so we settled for a salad w a side of grilled chicken and an actual chicken w a side of a potato/beans/tomato which could have used salt or more seasoning but the chicken itself was perfectly cooked. overall it's a grown ups restaurant, proper for introductory dates and great food. will definitely be back to try their pasta this time. oh, almost forgot, the tiramisu was great. it was more of a tiramisu cake, i would've liked a bit more of a coffee dip on the base but i guess bc it was a cake they can't leave it in espresso to absorb the flavour as long as lady fingers. anywho, didn't take away from the overall amazing flavour. thanks la masseria server who reminded us to try it.
Overall this was about 3.5 stars. While I don't have any major criticisims, I'm not sure this will be a regular stop on our NYC trips. The restaurant is charming with a loft where most of the parties of two sat. Service was good. I appreciate that they split our dishes for us and attentive given the large crowd. They are efficient at getting you in and out for the show. We started with the octopus, shared a plate of the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli. Our main plate was the orata (similar to a branzino), which was well prepared. We shared a sorbet as well with three glasses of wine. We spent $259 with tax and a 20+% tip. Overall, the value was fair for the location.
Beautiful restaurant with the best handmade pasta you can find. Always ask for their daily specials. The pasta texture is something else. You can literally taste the sauce with the pasta in your mouth. The other dishes were okay. Their drink was good. The only downside is the bread. Great place if you plan on seeing a show afterwards.
Service was good, though was a bit confusing at times(almost ordered a cappuccino with my tiramisu?). Good menu selection, food came out at a reasonable time. Pasta was good, tiramisu was very good. Bathrooms were clean. Two birthdays in the lower section and fun to see the servers singing and bringing cake.

I dined here recently with a friend prior to a broadway show. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The table we were given was nice and against the wall, though as other tables filled in it…
Excellent food and service. Only concern was the noise level. I had linguine and clams as an appetizer, and a veal chop.
Very good but not really outstanding Italian food in a nice atmosphere with good service. price is high for what you get. The biggest plus is they are open after Broadway shows finish.
Food was decent but white fish special was "fishy," tables extremely close together and noise level very high. Service very good.
The ambiance is very lovely, with a chic bar area and nice italian-like decor at the back room. It is definitely the high point of Masseria, as the food itself is lackluster. I ordered a linguine with clams and it was very dry and lifeless, with very small clams. The tiramisu was good, but any italian place in NYC has one at least as good as it. Overall a disappointing experience.
My opinion may be colored by my lack of experience with New York City restaurants, but here goes. The table was too small and the dining area was packed SO TIGHT. I had customers, servers, and other staff bumping my wife and I on several occasions. Not that I mind, but a lady came to sit at the table between the wall and our table and I just offered to stand up and allow her to the table instead of expecting her to slip between the 6 inches of clearance between the back of my chair and the next table. The waiter was good, not great, almost too attentive. The food was their redeeming quality. The ravioli was fantastic. The veal was good but different. I had shaved black truffle on mine which was a unique experience and well worth it. I may not order that flavor combination again but I understood the invention within the dish, it just wasn't in favorite. The breads and lentils are great.
My friend highly recommended it so we came here for our anniversary. I ordered Linguine with clams. But it doesnt taste as good as I expected, not as creamy and flavory as i thought. My boyfriend ordered rabit as the entree which i think tastes better than the pasta. The atmosphere, however, is perfect. The light is lit dimly and the service is good. The Pinot Grigio is also very good, refreshing and full of flavours.
We really like the Masseria location near Columbus Circle, but they were (temporarily, hopefully) closed so we gave this location a try. Apart from the excellent, friendly service from our server (we sat at the bar), we were disappointed. We ordered the green bean, goat cheese and tomato salad which was very good. But after that, the meal went downhill. We ordered the caprese ravioli and linguini vongole. For some reason we waited well over 1/2 hour after we finished the salad for those dishes even though the restaurant was not crowded. And when the dishes did arrive, the lacked seasoning. The clams in the vongole were fine, but there was almost nothing resembling a garlic & white wine sauce. And the raviolis lacked flavor as well and the sauce was a little gummy. I almost never use salt, but both dishes cried for it. Hopefully our favorite location opens up again soon!
The pastas were well flavoured. I thought the blueberry risotto combination didn't really work though, & the pastas were cooked slightly too soft. For the burrata, they only serve the some of inner liquid rather than the actual ball. Overall I didn't think it was good value. The service was off putting. We were a large group of 10 seated against the wall towards the back. They would constantly top up our water glasses if so much as 2 sips were had. We all agreed it was very uncomfortable. The waiters would squeeze themselves in & out of the narrow area behind us every other minute, for water we didn't need, hovering over us throughout the meal. It felt very distracting when we were trying to relax. They misheard our order twice. We ordered calamari, & they wanted to confirm if we only wanted one for the whole table. We quickly confirmed with each other and said yes, we're fine with just one. Then they came out with a second one, when we already had too much food. The second time my friend asked if there was dairy in the risotto. The waiter said 'there is, would you like us to take it out?' and she replied with 'oh that's fine, don't change it please, keep it as is'. They brought it out & had made it dairy free. She was really displeased with how it tasted. They seemed very eager, overzealous even & the lack of comprehension was frustrating. In general the waiters weren't very tactful & interrupted us a lot, it wasn't a nice experience.
They have a very sophisticated and attractive decor here. While some OTHER Italian restaurants will be closed at 10 p.m., THIS restaurant still has a lot of people dining in it. A complimentary bread basket comes with a small dish of lentils, bread, and bread sticks which are delicious. I tried their salmon with mustard sauce ($39.50), ordered medium. It was served that way, it was moist and I enjoyed it. On another visit there I had their Chicken Paesano. The chicken pieces were not tender. On another visit there I tried their rabbit that came with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The rabbit ($49.50) had lost a lot of its flavor due to its preparation. The mashed potatoes were very enjoyable, the Brussels sprouts were good. A thin electric candle ads a nice touch to each table. They serve the same menu for lunch and dinner.

Food was good, wasn’t anything crazy impressive but my girlfriend and I were very satisfied with our anniversary dinner. But not at 4 am when I was on the hotel floor throwing up everything until bile. The worst 24 hours of my life, consistently throwing up, severe abdominal pain, etc. Needed to go the urgent care and then get a IV because I was so sick that I couldn’t drink or eat ANYTHING without drowning it back up immediately. Food was decent but it’s more important for you to keep your guests out of the hospital, wash ur hands.
Not sure how this place has such high rating - one of the worst meals we’ve had in the past few months. Absolute waste of money. The worst calamari we’ve ever had. So soggy and soft. My pasta was okay. Asked about mocktails. All our server could offer virgin mojito at an Italian restaurant?? Thank you, no. Over $180 for a terrible dinner with a terrible service. Server never checked on us or how the food was. Would never go back here.
