Opinions de Lillie‘s New York
(This review is from a dining experience in Nov '25.) Had a work dinner at this location, and everything was very unique and engaging. Food was very good, and the lingering decor from Halloween was very extensive, well done, and interesting to look at. Service was pretty good, given the fact that this night the location was packed full of people. They took good care of our large party. Understand that this is a popular restaurant in NYC, so it's going to be packed with people at most dining times, tight maneuvering, and loud. It's a unique dining experience in a city full of them, and if you can book a table here I would highly recommend it.
Had an excellent time at Lillie’s before seeing Book of Mormon. Literally right across the street from the theater. This extended our time here so we could have a long relaxing dinner. We started off with some drinks which were yummy! We also had the calamari for an appetizer. I was a little perplexed about why they would put pickled onions with calamari but I couldn’t get enough of this combo once I started eating them. Then we had the chicken pot pie and the buttermilk chicken sandwich with the truffles fries. All of this with no disappointments. We did sit at the bar bc we did not make a reservation. So, if that’s not your thing I would highly recommend making one. We were there on a Thursday at 5 and there was plenty of room at the bar, but by about 545. You could not get a seat. Plan ahead. The winter and Valentine’s Day decor combo was spot on. Been to the other location in October and Lillies never seems to disappoint with their decor. Almost forgot to add our servers were super attentive. They did not hover but they were available enough to make our 2 hour bar visit and absolute pleasure.
Came in for brunch; atmosphere was absolutely stunning. Luckily we didn’t need a reservation and got sat before the rush. All the food was delicious. Mimosa was so fresh and light! Highly recommend
I had a wonderful experience here, even though communication was a little mixed up in the beginning they still pulled trough in the end! ❣️ • I came with a party of 3, early to my reservation & they were super sweet, they seated us earlier than what I booked :) • The food was great and the atmosphere was adorable, it was decorated heavily & intricately for Christmas. • It is a little cramped so make sure you walk carefully lol I will definitely coming back here 💌
Popped in a grabbed a seat at the bar. The old fashioned was perfect! The atmosphere and music were perfect! I would recommend reservations if you want to sit at a table.
BAR REVIEW. Came here Sunday morning 10 mins before they opened and there was already a line! Once inside, since we did not have reservations, we found two seats at the bar. Cocktails were okay—got the Irish Coffee and Winter Wonderland. The Christmas decorations were amazing!! Beautiful decor all around the restaurant, loved it!
I came here for dinner Dec 18 and It was my first time eating and visiting Lillies and I’ll just say I was blown away by the holiday decor and the atmosphere. Just simply amazing. But the cherry on the top was the delicious food and awesome service by Jaime. He made sure we were taken care of and went out of his way to make sure we had the best experience. I highly recommend having dinner here and see if you can ask for Jaime to be your server, you won’t be disappointed! Awesome decor, awesome server, awesome food! 10/10.
This bar was so unique—we were intrigued from the moment we walked by. Apparently they decorate it for every holiday and season, and they truly go all out. We visited a few weeks before Halloween, and I’m not exaggerating when I say there were skeletons and creepy dolls hanging from the walls and ceiling. The Victorian aesthetic added so much to the overall vibe. We didn’t get to try the food since we arrived after the kitchen’s last call, but the drinks were good and generously sized. It’s definitely a fun experience to add to your list, and the location is perfect for anyone stopping by before or after a Broadway show. The only downside was that the bathrooms weren’t fully functional or very clean.
I went with my friend there for a preshow dinner. We did not have reservations and I understand that’s a problem on a Saturday night however, I felt the staff at the front was just a little too rigid because you can’t make waiting list. You have to keep coming back and when I did, they seem to be a little annoyed. However, they redeemed themselves when they had a table they came and they got us. The food was great. The atmosphere was great. And Wilder decorations only began the night before we were very pleased with everything. The drinks were amazing. The Grinch is of the bomb. Definitely try it.
Another wonderfully crafted establishment/restaurant/coffee/tea time escape. It is decorated differently per season. Polar bears are in season now. I love the white decorations as most other places are filled with red and green. Food was terrific and so was tea time (a pot of tea) the cake with ice cream wa also awesome!!
Lillies Victorian is absolutely beautiful.. The décor is So pretty. The food is delicious. The drinks are amazing, and the manager was telling me that during the different seasons, they make the drinks more festive to match the season..Lillies has two locations Each one is nicer and more festive than the next, and even when they're not festive, they're beautiful and the staff is so nice. Very professional and very welcoming Times square has so much memorabilia. It's just gorgeous. The drinks are fun and delicious. And so is the food.. I would have posted more pictures of the food but I was just there for lunch. But the tomato caprese sandwich was delicious, and every other time we've been there before we love it.Even more. The bartender Gavin was super nice and so are the managers I love all of their establishments,.Lillies 17th. Lillies 49th, Oscar Wilde and Pappilon all owned by 2 guys named Tommy and Frank. I'm thinking if you have an italian guy and an irish guy.You can't go wrong..They're so festive,.But even between seasons, the decor is beautiful. The food is absolutely delicious and the drink's amazing. If you haven't been to any one of these restaurants, make it a point to go.... tell them Erin ffom A1 said theyre#1
My friend and I came here when we were on a weekend trip. We did the high teaexperience with the three tiers. We went at the end of september and it was already decorated for spooky season So we did not get to experience what it normally looks like. We both wish that was advertised on the website. The food on the tier were very good. But because we were two people, we got a tiny table and between the tier, tea set up, and lamp, was way too much for the table and had to move things off.
Stumbled upon this place by chance, it caught my eye because of the amazing maximalist goth decoration. Came in only to be amazed by even more amazing goth decor, so I had to sit for a cocktail. After waiting a little while - bar seats are first come first serve - I got a seat, and being overwhelmed by the large choice of great cocktails, the really nice bartender Jose asked what I liked and made me the most amazing crazy cocktail, exactly what I wanted. This is my new favorite bar in NYC and maybe in the world.
Pre-Cruise amazing birthday lunch where I invited about 10 or 12 people we no one got there at the same time, but the restaurant was so amazing and accommodating a very, very, very large group at a short period of time with Grace and elegance. The food was great. The service was amazing to ambience. I just had an amazing birthday and then the waitress was so awesome to take several photos of me and my group so yes, five stars all the way around.
Great atmosphere, food was pretty good and the service was there. Wife enjoyed the sangria and her fish and chips. Waitress showed up for necessary things, but no water refill and was charged twice for a coke and a refill.
I visited Lillie’s Victorian in early January and was happy to see that the Christmas decorations were still up. The restaurant is beautifully decorated during the holidays, with so much detail everywhere you look. We were told it takes the staff a full two weeks just to put all the decorations up, and it shows. Honestly, the décor alone made the experience and is the main reason I would recommend visiting, especially during the Christmas season. I chose this restaurant specifically because we wanted to do afternoon tea. The overall afternoon tea experience was fine, but nothing spectacular, especially considering the price point of about $60 per person. I do wish the spread included a bit more food. The finger sandwiches were not great, but we really enjoyed the scones and even ordered a second one. We ordered both the Earl Grey and chai tea, and the chai was my favorite. We had a 12:00 p.m. reservation and arrived about 30 minutes early but were seated right away. The restaurant filled up quickly around noon, so reservations are definitely a good idea. We were informed there is a 90-minute seating limit, which is something to keep in mind if you’re planning to linger. There were a few downsides, the booth seats were pretty stained, and the teacups and saucers were chipped, though I suppose that added a bit of old-world character. Service was fine overall, though it could have been a little more friendly and attentive. All in all, it was a good experience, and I would recommend visiting mainly during the Christmas season to enjoy the beautiful decorations.
Simply a magical place to step into! Be warned, however, it will likely be VERY busy, unless you go on a weekday/during midday. We came on a Sunday around 4 PM and it was a struggle to find a seat at the bar. We were told upon walking in that there was “standing room” at the bar, but this was very unpleasant, as it is a bit cramped inside. The bartenders also do not make an attempt to serve you if you are standing - be prepared to work to grab their attention. However, after waiting a while for people to leave and then getting their seats, we ordered our cocktails - the “Do you know the muffin man” and the “Winter wonderland” and had a wonderful time. The drinks were delicious, a bit pricey for their size, but that is to be expected in NYC - especially at a venue as beautiful as this one and near the heart of times square. Overall a lovely experience during Christmas time, especially if you can visit during an off-peak time. I know Lillie’s is beautifully decorated year-round - not always Christmas themed, but this would still be a beautiful place to grab a drink outside of Christmas season, when it may be a bit less busy.
Very beautiful interior, shame we were seating right by the door. If we had time we would’ve waited for a better table without a large draft. Food was good, nothing remarkable. I got the eggs Benedict, my friend got the French toast. The whipped cream was a bit deflated. Service was friendly. Food came so quickly we felt a bit rushed. Will definitely come back, but only for drinks and maybe a light bite, not for a meal.
The vibes here are incredible!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The decorations for Halloween are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I felt like I could hang out there all day and still not get to see every piece of decor in detail. Every inch of the restaurant was covered!! We loved our drinks, they were festive themed and really tasty. The Mac & cheese bites were nothing special (they needed salt + a dipping sauce), and my friend's burger was just okay (also needed a sauce!). My pot pie was delicious, but a little more room temp than I expected. We plan to go back when they decorate for Christmas! But possibly only for drinks, given our overall food experience wasn’t the greatest but the themed vibes and drinks totally make up for lackluster food. I’ve dined at the Lillie’s in Union Square before and the food was better at that location. This is in Times Square, which might mean it’s much busier and the food isn’t the top priority. But def loved the decor and drinks and it is a total vibes for the holidays!!
Excellent place for late night meals, especially after the theater lets out. They were able 2 accommodate without a reservation. The fish and chips were good. The hummus plate was just okay, the bread was a bit old. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was excellent as they decorate for the Christmas season. Hostess and our server, Matthew were good. Women's bathroom was not pleasant.
Lillie’s Victorian Establishment has an amazing vibe and decor. The place looks incredible, full of detail and character, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth visiting. The cocktails were excellent, very creative and well made. The food, though, was just okay. I had the mushroom pappardelle, which was fine but nothing special, and the zucchini spaghetti was about the same. It’s definitely a spot where the setting and drinks outshine the food. Still, it’s a fun place to hang out and enjoy the experience.
Came here for drinks and a snack before a show. Reservation was required for 90 minutes per table. I ordered the drink "How soon is now", which was presented beautifully and tasted very good. We split the french onion soup and the burrata. The soup was kind of skimpy on onion and was mostly just a big blob of cheese in a bowl with some broth and onions. The burrata was decent, but nothing to write home about. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was fun with the Halloween decor.
Came here with the family for a pre-theatre lunch. We originally planned to enjoy the beautiful floral decor, but as luck would have it, they’d just switched over to Halloween that week — in September! Theme-heavy spots near Times Square can be hit or miss, so expectations were modest. The place was pretty full (long and narrow layout), but thankfully we had a reservation and were seated right away. While the decorations were over-the-top — the “kitsch index” was high — the sheer volume of Halloween props covering every inch of the high ceilings actually made this die-hard New Yorker begrudgingly appreciate it. At least they commit. Most importantly, the food was actually good — surprisingly good. My Cobb salad was huge and fresh (oddly, it listed avocado as an extra add-on, but mine came with it anyway). The burrata disappeared in seconds, the burger was juicy with crisp potatoes and greens, and the croque madame came topped with a perfectly runny, “sexy” sunny-side-up egg. Everything was delicious, and we cleared our plates in record time to make our show. Service was attentive, with staff constantly circulating and easy to flag down. We’ll definitely be back once the flowers bloom again — next time, without the Halloween pumpkins watching us eat.
This was our first time here, and we went for a in between show meal. The restaurant is close to Broadway, so it was quite crowded—I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We got lucky and snagged some seats at the bar, which are first-come, first-served basis. The atmosphere and decor were great and very picturesque; every corner had something unique to look at. The service was a bit slow because it was so busy. We had to ask a few different waiters to add to our order and get our check. The portion sizes were a little small for the price, but we were pleasantly surprised by how good the steak frites and chicken pot pie were. The fried calamari was okay. The drinks were lovely and strong. There’s definitely other places in the city you can get full for cheaper. Overall, we’d come back to try out their other food and check out the seasonal decorations. But definitely expect NY price for smaller portion.
Edited slightly. The more I reflect on this experience, the more disappointed I am in the poor value for the price. I've done many afternoon teas in many cities, and this is unquestionably the worst experience I've had so far. Went for afternoon tea here and it was a bit of a mixed bag. I really enjoyed the scones and extra-thick clotted cream. Tea for two people should have two of everything - four macarons in four flavors means sharing them all or missing out on two flavors. The tea sandwiches were lackluster - I didn't care for the chopped celery in the egg salad personally, and the cucumber sandwiches were very soggy. (This is why cucumber sandwiches are usually made with cold butter - to protect the bread from moisture). The fresh fruit was delicious but baffling; blueberries and grapes are best enjoyed with the fingers, however they had been needlessly dusted with powdered sugar. The tea on offer was nice, but weak as they only provided a single tea bag per pot and the water wasn't as hot as should be for brewing a black tea. Lastly, I can excuse sugar packets, but plastic stir straws instead of teaspoons just feels wrong. The high-top seating was very difficult for my 4'10" self to climb up into. That said, service was very attentive and the space was charming.
The place is mainly for the vibe and decor. The service was really inattentive - we had to ask 3 times for water and for the bill. The triple mac and cheese was pretty good, the chicken pot pie was decent but nothing special, and the buffalo cauliflower was terrible - soggy and not even decent flavor.
Stopped in here for the Halloween Decorations and stood near the bar for a drink. Completely packed which was expected. Drinks were good. But the bathrooms were atrocious. All toilets in the women's bathroom clogged and overflowing. Same with the men's bathroom. I don't understand how they can have such filthy conditions at a place like this. They need to hire people to clean and manage the bathrooms, especially during busy periods. Couldn't believe the difference from how awesome the main floor is to how disgusting the sanitary conditions are for the restroom.
If you are looking for a Christmas spot, this definitely has the decorations and atmosphere however it gets super crowded. We did make a reservation really far in advance which I recommend. Surprisingly the food was actually the best part, however the service was horrible. Our server took so long and did not even tell us his name and drinks came when we were almost done eating. Food was great, decorations were super cute, but service was far below average.
Came here for afternoon tea on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was not crowded. The restaurant was beautiful decorated. We were seated quickly but no service at all until 10 minutes later. We weren’t in a rush because we were looking over some papers. The table was very small and wobbly. We ordered the afternoon tea for two people. The teapots came quickly but the server was really rude. She wanted to put the teapot on top of my papers. She could have tell us the teapots are ready and ask us to clear the table so our papers will not get wet or dirty. The tables next to us were empty. We asked to moved to a bigger table but the server said the tables were reserved. Nobody sat at the bigger table the whole time we were there and the restaurant was pretty empty. The afternoon tea includes a choice of tea and share sandwiches, scone, fruits, and macaroons. I am not sure if the bread was a little stale or it was lightly toasted, it was a bit hard. We asked for a refill of hot water in our teapot but were told we cannot. She said we will need to purchase another tea
