This Applebees was the cleanest and fastest one I’ve ever been to! When we saw it was busy and in Times Square we were worried but they took care of us quick and the staff was so kind, helpful, and friendly. The food was tasty and came quick! We are pleased with our server Adrianna!
Went recently to the Applebee's in 42nd street and wanted to leave an EXCEPTIONAL review for our waiter Eric. He was extremely friendly and greeted us with the warmest hello as soon as he saw my group. He was so nice in even recommending their most popular items and we were not disappointed. Great (waiter) service and great ambience! Will definitely visit again to try other food items! Thanks Erick!
My family and I had a fantastic meal here! The food was great and the environment was super warm. But the service is what really impressed us! We always have problems finding things to eat with our dietary restrictions. London was able to find something for each of us with ease. As someone who works in the service industry myself, I can really appreciate a server who puts in the effort to learn the menu well enough to be able to accommodate with ease! Not to mention he was so kind and attentive throughout our meal! Always on top of our drink refills and getting us every little thing we needed. It was really a treat! Thank you London for making our time in NY special :)))
Outstanding service from Lipu at Applebee’s New York We had such a fantastic experience thanks to our server, Lipu. From the moment we sat down, he brought this perfect mix of warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care that made the whole meal feel special. He anticipated what we needed before we even asked, checked in at just the right moments, and kept everything running smoothly without ever feeling rushed. On top of that, he had such a friendly, upbeat energy that really lifted the whole table. It’s rare to meet someone who can make a busy restaurant feel personal, but Lipu absolutely did. He turned a simple dinner into a standout experience. If you’re visiting Applebee’s in New York, ask for Lipu — he’s a star.
Adrianna was INCREDIBLE, such a personable soul. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious, perfectly cooked. We had an Adriana in our group, and Adrianna made her laugh by saying they have the best name. Best city trip ever!
Exceptional service from start to finish. Eric was attentive without being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm and professional. His recommendations were spot-on, the timing was perfect, and every detail was handled with care. In addition, the rest of the staff was just as welcoming—everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and contributed to such a positive atmosphere. Eric truly elevated our dining experience, and the team as a whole made us feel like valued guests. Service like this is rare and deserves recognition. We will absolutely be back and hope to be served by Eric again!!
Fantastic evening meal, Our waitress Brynn couldn’t do enough for us. Being from the UK we had to ask lots of questions regarding the menu lol, seriously though Brynn couldn’t have explained better, she was patient and eager to help. She was everything we needed and more in a waitress. The food was amazing and the location of this restaurant was perfect. When in NY you must visit this lovely restaurant and ask for Brynn for your server. To Applebee’s Well done for your interview process ❤️
The food was fresh and hot. Dylan was absolutely great. Definitely an asset to the company. He made sure we received our food and made sure that we enjoyed everything. Great experience
We had Donnell serving us and he was great! He helped us out with the menu and recommended some great add-ons. He checked on us a lot and helped me arrange a birthday surprise. Cassidy is also a great hostess!!! I called her before hand to make a reservation and she spoke very kindly and professionally over the phone. She also helped me with arranging a birthday surprise. The oven-baked cookie is a dessert must!
I had a fantastic experience at Applebee’s, and a big part of that was thanks to our waiter, Eric. He was an absolutely great guy - friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we sat down. He made sure everything was perfect, checked in at just the right times, and had a brilliant attitude that really made the whole meal more enjoyable. It’s rare to come across someone who clearly cares about giving great service, and Eric definitely does. He’s a real credit to the team, and I hope his hard work gets recognized. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
We had a perfect experience at Applebee’s! Everything was absolutely great from start to finish. Our orders were delivered correctly, exactly as requested, and the food was delicious and fresh. We were attended by Adrianna and her colleague, and they were both fantastic — friendly, attentive, and very professional. They made sure we had everything we needed and truly enhanced our dining experience. Thank you for the excellent service and wonderful meal. We will definitely be coming back!
This is the fist Applebee's I have ever been to that had breakfast! I have to say it was great. It was so good that I ate breakfast here everday for a week. The service was great as well. I was here 8 am every morning and it was slow. I love that about the place. Highley recommended for breakfast. I cant say about after breakfast.
MLK Weekend 2026: My daughter & I visited for our 1st NYC trip & her 18th Birthday! What a fabulous experience! Great entertainment, service, & food! The line to wait was LONG, but the time it took to get seated was relatively QUICK! Probably 30 people deep in line, sat within 15 minutes! Hope to go back & take friends & family!
I mean, can I ever not have a good time at Ellen's? The food is good, and the singing wait staff is incredible. First of all, they are friendly. Not just professional - which they are - but they strike me as genuinely friendly people! People you want to interact with. And they all sing amazing! But before I get to their singing. Let me just say how impressed I am with how well they work together as a team, and how supportive they are of each other. To me that kind of culture makes working at any job a desirable experience! I actually visited Ellen's twice - because I'm a glutton for singing wait staff - this is a great restaurant and I definitely recommend them as a must experience for NYC.
You won't expect the highest level of food here but it's pretty decent for what you get. They deserve 5 stars for the speed of which they take care of you and the uniqueness of the entertainment, truly nothing else like it anywhere. There are no reservations and line to get in can be long or quick and if you're only a 2 person, chances are higher for a faster entry. Be ready to tip the entertainment as there is no cover charge. Very unique concept and well worth any wait to get in. We come here every time we visit New York.
A unique dining experience must try. We came here for our daughter’s birthday. You have to wait in line as no reservations so be prepared to stand in line, we waited about 1.5 hrs to get table. You walk into servers serving food and singing songs from broadway plays as well as other songs. It is a lively fun experience while you enjoy your meal. The food was good with vegetarian options. We especially loved the nachos. The drinks were good as well nothing exceptional but still good. Our daughter enjoyed hearing all the Broadway songs and the servers did a fanatic job.
WHAT A VIBE!! ❤️ It's one diner that everyone should visit atleast once. The servers are also performers and each one of them is a brilliant performer. It was one of the best nights we had in New York. The food was also good and service was great. We were amazed to see how every server was performing and attending to guests with such ease and promptness.
Such a great place to go to while visiting NYC. The waitstaff is hired when they are on a break from Broadway shows and they are fabulous!! They are extremely talented singing, entertaining and they do an excellent job multitasking taking care of you while your there. 👏 The food is just simple American food but solid. Their drinks and milkshakes are a work of art in themselves. The COOLEST thing is they release a ton of streamers from the ceiling while your there! It is a full out party almost every hour! Epic!! Check this place out!! 🥳 🎉 🎊 🍾 🥂 🥳
What a fun place to have a meal! The long line to get inside is definitely justified -- and don't be daunted because the waiting isn't as long as it may look. Inside you enter a buzz of activity and entertainment. Non-stop singing by a talented wait staff makes for a memorable meal. And the food is pretty darn good. We enjoyed burgers and sandwiches for lunch and the portions were large and tasty Overall, an incredibly fun experience and a can't miss if you are visiting NYC.
I initially considered giving them four stars because my burger was cooked medium-well instead of well-done as requested. Although the first burger looked very appealing, as seen in the picture, the well-done replacement burger was less visually appealing. Especially for the price we paid for burgers, fries and milkshakes. However, the service was satisfactory, and the entertainment was very enjoyable. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who loves Broadway.
Great place to experience. The staff are amazing singers as they wait for their big break on Broadway. We just popped in for some drinks and snacks. Great atmosphere. Was highly recommended to visit and we glad we did. A must for anyone visiting NYC. We got there at about 3.30pm and there was no queue. After 15 minutes queues started to build presumably for dinner service, so worth getting there late afternoon.
You should DEFINITELY come here when you have the time. The singers/Waiters were hilarious with some of their movements, and the food took a little time, but the atmosphere totally made up for it. My personal favorite? When our waiter threw straws at the other staff and said “SING!!” It was the funniest. Service: they were really polite and respectful of their customers. it was nice.
This was a fun diner in Times Square, New York. There was a long line to get into the diner, but it went relatively quickly. In our case, we waited about 30 to 40 minutes to get in. Once inside, we were greeted by an energetic staff. At which we sat and watched the fun performances from the various staff members. Some of the performances were boring, but some of them included people climbing up and walking around. One of the people in our party was celebrating their birthday, and they made it very fun for us, including grabbing a candle. Overall, it was a very positive experience. However, it was also very very expensive for what it was
WOW!!! If you're in the Big Apple and are looking to stop somewhere for a quick bite and catch a show....This is The Place for Both!!! The Stardust was envisioned by a former Miss Subways beauty queen, and it is where you'll find Great Food served by an amazingly talented staff of actual Broadway performers! They take turns breaking into spectacular songs, showing off their pipes! Our wonderful waiter rang up 2 bills and filled & served multiple beverage orders without missing a note, balancing the bevs & bills with the mic! Your host invites you to toss a donation into a blinged-out bucket to help your wait staff pay for added lessons as they wait for their Big break. You may have already seen them on the Great White Way! Years ago they used to hop up on special tables to strut their stuff, but these days they have a cleverly built mini runway down the center of the main floor. The food was fabulous (grilled cheese perfection with waffle fries!) and if we waited for it we didn't notice because we were enjoying the non-stop show! There was a line outside to get itn, and they go by the number in your party to coordinate with the seats available. It went fairly quickly and was So Worth It!! And don't forget to purchase some mementos on your way out!!
Dinner and a show with absolutely amazing voices. I’ve seen so many videos about this restaurant and I finally was able to visit. I went on a Tuesday night around 10:30 PM. There was no line so once I told them it was just me they essentially sent me upstairs to my seat. I think I had like four or five people waiting on me, everyone sort of rocks around assisting everyone since at any point in time a server could be performing. I think that’s an amazing model and I’ve always wondered how they did that. Everyone sounds absolutely magical here and I can’t wait to see them on Broadway very soon! Oh yeah, the food is also amazing. I had a create your own omelette and a brownie with ice cream and fudge. A wacky meal I know, but it was actually the only meal I ate today so why not go weird enough for Tuesday right? The food came out relatively quick. And if it didn’t, I truly couldn’t tell because I was watching the performances. Lol
We had lunch here and found this place to be great for food and drinks. Ambiance is pleasant but needs to be deep cleaned, though. Steak here is good. Drinks are great. The overall menu is rich, and the service is quick during non rush hours. What deserves a special mention? Nothing, I might have to visit again to find something that is above and beyond. What could be better? The seating area needs to be cleaned better.
Before watching The Great Gatsby Broadway show at 8 PM, I stopped by Applebee’s near Times Square for dinner 🍽️ Ordered BBQ ribs and chicken wings with Sweet Asian Chili Sauce both were flavorful and tender, way better than expected I asked to sit on the 2nd floor nice street view, less crowded than the 1st floor. Clean restroom, wide variety of menu options, and they even offered a complimentary photo print! 📸 A perfect pre-show dinner delicious food and great vibes 💛
Great value and flavor — definitely one of the better American fast food places I’ve had. Generous portions and everything tasted great. However, service during happy hour was unusually slow. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and they held our card at the bar, which was unexpected and a bit uncomfortable. That was the only downside to an otherwise good experience.
It offers a casual and friendly dining experience, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. The menu has a wide variety of American classics, from burgers to ribs, with generous portions and good value for money. The service is usually quick and welcoming, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming.
Great experience. I recommend visiting around midday as that’s their quieter times and we didn’t queue at all. The singing is fantastic and obviously what you go there for however the food was OK, not much flavour. I saw reviews about the tip box being constant but we only had it once and you wasn’t pressured. For 2x burgers, fries and 2 soft drinks was $86 including a 20% tip that was automatically added to the bill so it was clear on our visit by the staff you didn’t have to cash tip.
Unbelievably talented wait staff. For a touristy area, the food is actually pretty good and not unreasonably priced for Times Square. Be prepared for a long line getting in. However, once you're in the service is pretty prompt. Wait staff take turns singing show tunes/pop songs during service.
We’ve been to Ellen’s Stardust Diner twice — the most recent visit was in the summer when we brought friends. Just like always, no matter what time you arrive, there’s a long line outside. It has become part of the experience at this point. The biggest highlight of this diner is definitely the singing waitstaff. They don’t just serve your food and take your order — they perform amazing Broadway-style songs right in front of you. It’s such a fun and unique atmosphere! Many of them are hoping to make it onto Broadway someday, so this place feels like a stepping stone for real talent. Now… the food. Let’s just say you’re not here for a Michelin-star meal. It’s very average diner food, maybe even a bit below that. Nothing terrible, but definitely not why you come here. You’re paying for the show, the energy, the nostalgia, and the one-of-a-kind entertainment. So if you’re visiting New York with friends or family and want something memorable (and loud), this is the place. Come for the singing — not the menu.
Queued for 45 minutes outside in the freezing cold. The seating guy went down the queue finding large groups or 4+ and hooking them to the front, leaving all the 2s to wait. Once inside, the atmosphere is amazing and worth the wait. The staff have zero idea about dietary requirements, allergies or vegans, but you’re not there for the food. The burrito was good though. It’s so so expensive! They add 20% automatically to the bill, ask for tips on top of that and walk around with a bucket and don’t move past until you put money in. Good experience, you should go, but it’s very expensive.
Probably overrated but still a must do when visiting New York as it’s very unique. The queue was about half a block long but took about 25 minutes to get in. Inside it’s quite loud but also quite a fun atmosphere. The service was VERY slow but probably to be expected if waiting staff are also performing but even so was a long wait after ordering. Hot Chocolate was delicious, the food was just okay but the onion rings were delicious!! Definitely overpriced for what it was. We didn’t like that the first thing that was mentioned was a tip bucket when we arrived and the again when eating…there was a mandatory tip added to the bill (no problem with that) and then again asking for a tip when paying. We have no problem tipping but it almost seemed like busking / begging. Definitely not one to miss especially for the kids but probably not one to return to
What an experience! We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11am, and thankfully the line wasn't too long! The singing servers are amazing. Literally serving food and processing checks while singing their hearts out. I wasn't a fan of the chocolate chip pancakes -- they were quite gluey. The corned beef hash was delicious, however -- I'd definitely get it again! The food took a while to come out but at least we were very well entertained during the wait!
Atmosphere was great, food very good but our server of a table of 6 ladies in our 20s.we were forgotten and treated horribly by our Server Renee. She treated a table better with a family of 5, 3 kids. And then after them a table of 6 ladies in the 30s-50s they were treated completely different by Renee. Restaurant was great but Renee was not. Renee we were going to tip you we aren’t monsters but It was YOUR Services that made us hit no tip!
Today, I visited Applebee’s with my husband and our two sons, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from the start. Upon arrival, the staff on the main level were not welcoming and quickly directed us to the second floor. When we got upstairs, the area was uncomfortably humid, and we stood waiting at the entrance for exactly four minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The floors were extremely slippery something the staff did admit which forced me to carry my toddler for safety. It took about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order, so we ended up ordering everything at once just to avoid further delays. There were no toddler cups available, and the food didn’t appear or taste fresh. At one point, I genuinely felt like I was being pranked. To be fair, the young woman who served us was kind, but she seemed overwhelmed by the chaos around her. Overall, it was a very poor dining experience. This location clearly needs better management and oversight it felt disorganized and unprofessional from beginning to end.
I went into this store today, 11/24/2025, at 4:15pm and was met with the worst hospitality and rudest bar staff in world. The lower level bar on 52nd side was filthy. I asked a brown skin male multiple times to clean it before he heard me and asked for a beer. He rudely told me he was leaving and pointed to another bartender named Willmarire M. That is a NOT hospitality. She seemed like the didn’t know what she was doing. He left and I had to repeat myself to her to ask for a beer and she had to ask a 3rd bartender with white skin and long blonde grey and black braids that I saw outside before entering. She came in with an attitude and a mean mug and offered no hospitality whatsoever to me and ignored me. I had to wait 10 min to pay my check and did so without leaving a tip. I went to the door greeter and asked for the MOD named “Paige” and she never showed up. This place is the absolute worst. I have 8 years in hospitality and I know what service is, this was and is, not it.
