Opinions de Boucherie New York
We have been so excited to visit and our experience did not disappoint! Ryan was our server and he was so kind and helpful and we really feel like he went out of the way to make our experience enjoyable. Every single bite of food was better than the one before and the escargots was absolutely the best we have ever had. The drinks were exceptional and we were really surprised how easy it was to book a table online while en route only to be seated immediately. What a nice experience! I can't wait to come back the next time we are in town. We will def ask to be seated in Ryan's section again!
We had dinner at La Grande Boucherie last night and had an amazing experience! Our appetizers and entree were cooked to perfection, and the cocktails were fantastic! For our appetizer, we ordered the Soup À Lòignon and the prime steak tartare. For our entree, we had the Côte de Boeuf Pour Deux with pommes purée as a side. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée. Everything was wonderful! Our server was so sweet and very attentive! The restaurant is gorgeous inside. The perfect date night spot in NYC! I highly recommend La Grande Boucherie and look forward to visiting again soon!
The restaurant is very stylish and unique. The music and ambiance are great. I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. We chose the Caesar salad and the prime NY steak & frites. The fries were amazing, the steak was cooked exactly as we requested, and the accompanying sauce was outstanding. For dessert, we had crème brûlée and profiteroles — both were delicious. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the “La Vie en Rose” cocktail; it lacked flavor. Other than that, the food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. Special thanks to Mr. Ozzy for his warm hospitality and for taking such great care of us.
La Grande Boucherie is such a beautiful dining experience. The decor is absolutely stunning and truly makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a charming restaurant in Paris. The ambiance alone is worth visiting, and the bar is especially gorgeous and elegant. The food was just as incredible as the atmosphere. We shared the bone marrow, which was outstanding, and the caramelized onion dip it came with was such a delicious and unique touch. We also ordered steak, and it was cooked to absolute perfection tender, flavorful, and literally melted in your mouth. Even the French fries were amazing and perfectly done. The service was also excellent. The staff was very attentive, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Everything from the ambiance to the food and service made this such a memorable experience. I would absolutely recommend La Grande Boucherie to anyone looking for amazing French cuisine in a stunning setting
I had dinner at La Grande Boucherie on Wednesday February 11th. The food was amazing! We started with a dozen oysters, sampling each of the varieties they had that day, paired with a glass of champagne. The vinaigrette was far better than the cocktail sauce, IMO. For an entrée, my date had the salmon and I had the beef bourguignon. The salmon was light and delicious 😋. The beef was incredibly flavorful and was deliciously paired with a glass of Merlot at our writer's suggestion. The service was good but not great on this particular evening. It took forever for our glasses of champagne to arrive, and the glass of Merlot I ordered before the entrees were served still hadn't arrived when the food did. I finally asked the water person to check on it for me and they brought it to the table. Also, our server changed during our meal. We started out with Jorge and finished with Carlos. The ambiance is amazing with high ceilings and lots of artwork on the walls.
This restaurant left a lasting impression, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. During the holiday season, the décor and ambiance are especially stunning and add to the overall experience. Reservations can be tricky to secure, so planning ahead is a must—using OpenTable alerts really helps. I was able to dine indoors, but even the atrium felt comfortable and cozy despite the cold weather outside. The food was exceptional across the board, with rich flavors and beautiful preparation. The steak sandwich, in particular, completely stole the show. Everything about this visit was memorable and well worth it.
Amazing food and atmosphere! The aged steak and duck leg were standout dishes, and the beef tartare was incredibly fresh. A big thanks to Ozzy for the fantastic service and recommendations! He was friendly, efficient, and made us feel very welcome. We’ll definitely be back!
La Grande Boucherie was an amazing experience. The food, the drinks, the service—everything was amazing. Our server Poi was absolutely stellar and gave us amazing recommendations and pairings. After our meal, we headed to the bar where we met an amazing bartender named Omar who was extremely friendly and made our friend’s birthday even more memorable and meaningful! One thing to note is that the upstairs level does get rather warm, so if you happen to run hot–it may be a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, everything was great!
Such an amazing experience. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the patio has beautiful indoor views, especially with the holiday decor, but be aware that the patio is very cold during the winter time, even though it is "in doors" it is not very temperature controlled. Inside there is also great seating in front of the bar and upstairs with views below. The food was also deliscios but the drinks stole the show, they were very uniquely crafted and insanely good. Our server Ryan provides us great recommendation and amazing service. There is a lot of great food in NYC but this has now become one of my favorite places, I will be back.
We’re sitting at the bar and had such a wonderful experience. Taylor, the bartender, is absolutely amazing—so knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely welcoming. He created incredibly creative cocktails, recommended fantastic dishes for sharing, and made the whole evening feel special. Since we’re traveling, he also shared great local recommendations, which we really appreciated. The service overall is excellent, the space is beautiful, and the quality of both the food and drinks is outstanding. A truly great French restaurant experience—we can’t wait to come back.
La Grande Boucherie offers a beautiful dining experience (hello vaulted ceilings!) that blends atmosphere, service, and standout dishes. We were lucky to have Daniela as our server, and she truly made the evening special—warm, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. The beef bourguignon was absolutely amazing: rich, deeply flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The salmon was also very good and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the lobster pasta fell short of expectations—it was quite bland and not worth the price point, especially compared to the other dishes. The drink menu deserves special praise. They offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, and both were excellent—creative, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Lastly, the view elevated the entire experience. We sat upstairs, yes the tables were really squished in so my back was almost right against the person behind me, but the setting was really beautiful, adding a sense of elegance and charm to the meal. Overall, La Grande Boucherie is a wonderful spot with great service, memorable food highlights, and a stunning atmosphere, even if one dish missed the mark.
An incredible atmosphere, lovely service and delicious food. If you are looking for an authentic spot for French cuisine, look no further. We got the jambon and Gruyère omelette, one of the best omelettes we’ve ever tasted, as well as the croque madame. Sit at the bar, enjoy the ambience!
We had the most amazing dinner here. Everything from the ambiance to the food to the service was excellent. We had the dry aged NY steak and mushroom ravioli, both excellent, and then the dark chocolate mousse for dessert which also was perfectly balanced for flavors. The highlight of our evening was actually the service. Our server Daniela pointed out all the halal options on the menu and then also made sure we knew which items had alcohol or gelatin (with no prompting from us). She was attentive throughout the evening. Will definitely be back when visiting New York again.
We had breakfast at La Grande Boucherie NYC and it was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent—attentive, warm, and professional. The food was delicious and well presented, with great flavors throughout. The atmosphere is truly special, featuring an authentic and historic setting with rich architectural details that add to the charm. Overall, a memorable dining experience and highly recommended.
Lunched here on Christmas. Eve French restaurant that’s classy, grand, beautiful with finest food. OMG have been here 4 times this year and on repeat! The desset menu is legit the besttt Ambiance is beautiful 🤩 you are transported to Paris. Service is top notch. Loved truffle mushroom ravioli, Brussels sprouts with blue cheese 🧀.. the salad was crispy and delicious 🤤 . Lastly the dessert was the biggest highlight crème brûlée 🍮 omg perfection.
We had dinner at La Grande Boucherie, and overall it was a great experience. The food was excellent — everything we ordered was super delicious and very well prepared. You can really feel the quality and attention to detail in the main dishes. The service also deserves a special mention. Our server was very professional, calm, and genuinely attentive — not only to us, but to all the tables around. It was noticeable how smoothly and patiently he handled everything, even when the restaurant was busy. The only downside was the waiting. Even with a reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes outside before being seated, which was a bit frustrating. Unfortunately, desserts were the weakest part of the experience. We ordered the profiteroles — the quality itself was good, but the filling inside was frozen, which really took away from the enjoyment. Overall, amazing food and very professional service, but the waiting time and desserts could definitely be improved. Still a place worth visiting, especially for the main courses.
Highly recommend brunch if you’re a fan of French breakfast. The tea and cappuccino were enjoyable. The Eggs Norwegian were fantastic. The Brioche French Toast was phenomenal as was the Nutella Stuffed Croissant. This place was perfect for a rainy, cold, winter day in NYC. Our family loved everything and I think your family will also.
Amazing restaurant I cannot wait to come back! The atmosphere during Christmas is beautiful. Definitely hard to make a reservation so book in advance. OpenTable Notify will have seats open up before the date quite often. I was lucky to sit inside but the atrium was pretty warm despite it being around 30°F. So totally fine to sit outside during cold months. Food was superb! Everything was delicious. Steak sandwich was standout. My only negative is the bathroom is tight and not much room for how many people they sit. For a fancy restaurant, you don’t want to have to wait in a bathroom line and then be in a super tight bathroom. Can’t wait to come back! I would love to come for dinner.
La Grande Boucherie is absolutely stunning — a classic French brasserie with beautiful décor and a lively yet elegant atmosphere. The food was excellent, snails 🐌 was so good. Steak Frites was excellent — perfectly cooked steak, tender and full of flavor, paired with crispy, golden fries. Classic French done right. Dessert is must here with great options. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented The service was professional, attentive, and well-paced, making the whole experience feel special. A fantastic spot for a refined meal, celebrations, or a memorable night out in NYC.
We had the most magical evening at La Grande Boucherie thanks to Jose and Bench— it truly turned into the highlight of our trip. From the moment we walked in, we were enchanted by the elegant art-nouveau décor, the soaring glass ceilings, and the festive Christmas spirit that filled every corner. Bench and José treated us like royalty: warm, attentive, and so knowledgeable — their kindness and care really made the night special. We came in thinking we’d stop for just one drink — but with the inviting atmosphere and delicious ambiance, we stayed for cocktails, appetizers, and laughter with a friend we had met at the airport. The appetizers & drinks were fantastic, and lingering a little longer felt totally right. La Grande Boucherie is perfect for anyone looking for gorgeous surroundings, thoughtful service, and a cozy “unexpected night out” that becomes something unforgettable. Highly recommend — especially if you want a place that feels like a little slice of Paris wrapped in holiday magic. 🎄✨
One of the best brunch/lunch spots I had in all of New York - already miss it! La Grande Boucherie is breathtaking the second you walk in. That massive, gorgeous bar is straight out of a dream and the whole dining room feels like a glamorous Parisian brasserie on steroids. It gets busy very quickly (especially on weekends), but they're super prepared for walk-ins. There's a huge, comfortable waiting area with plenty of seating if you don't feel like standing at the bar. We waited about 20-25 minutes without a reservation and it was totally pleasant. We ended up having a cocktail anyway because the bar is just too stunning to resist! Food was absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was perfectly executed and came out fast. Flavors were rich, portions were generous, and every plate looked almost too pretty to eat. Service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm even though the place was packed. The energy is lively and fun but still feels elegant, the ideal brunch vibe. Honestly, La Grande Boucherie was one of the highlights of my NYC trip. If you want spectacular setting with great food and solid service, run don't walk. Make a reservation if you can, but even if you have to wait, there's plenty of comfortable space and the experience is 100% worth it. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in the city!
I recently visited La Grande Boucherie in New York City to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and the entire experience was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was elegant and beautifully designed, with a Parisian brasserie style that felt warm and inviting. The staff was attentive, professional, and made the evening feel special without being intrusive. The food was outstanding—beautifully presented dishes with rich flavors and high-quality ingredients. Every course felt thoughtful and well-prepared. The drinks were equally impressive, with cocktails that were balanced and crafted with care. The lively yet refined atmosphere made it a perfect place for a celebration, and I would absolutely return for another special occasion. La Grande Boucherie exceeded expectations in every way.
We had the most beautiful dinner at La Grande Boucherie in New York City. Tucked like a dream between Sixth and Seventh Avenue, Boucherie feels almost unreal at first sight, a shimmering mirage of old-world Paris in the heart of Midtown. Inspired by the free-spirited charm and artistry of the Belle Époque, Boucherie blends the indulgence of a classic steakhouse with the elegance of a refined French brasserie. Founder Emil Stefkov imagined a space where craftsmanship means something, where French artisanship and American architecture could meet and make magic. It feels both timeless and modern, full of intention and reverence, a place where good food is treated like a celebration of life itself. I’m a sucker for a prix fixe menu, so of course we went that route. Caesar salads to start, perfectly made, complete with that tiny sardine perched on top the way it’s meant to be. I ordered the steak Diane, TJ went for steak and frites, and both were perfection. The desserts were unforgettable, but I’ll be dreaming about that crème brûlée. TJ had a Manhattan, and I ordered the Phoenix from the cocktail menu. Every sip felt like a warm, sweet burst of fire, a little moment of alchemy. The staff was wonderful too, and I even left with a small gift, a beautiful book about La Grande Boucherie that made the night feel all the more special. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in New York City, especially in Midtown. A perfect evening in every way.
Classic French Brasserie Vibes in the Heart of NYC La Grande Boucherie captures the energy and charm of a Parisian brasserie right in New York City. The décor is stylish and inviting, with an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. Seating inside is recommended during colder months, as the covered patio can get a bit drafty. The restaurant was lively and bustling with guests from all walks of life, which added to the authentic brasserie feel. We shared the 48oz Tomahawk Steak, and it was delicious. It was cooked as requested, tender, and full of flavor. The presentation and quality were excellent, and the portion was ideal for sharing. La Grande Boucherie also has a great bar and cocktail selection, perfect for enjoying before or during your meal. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, great ambiance, and good service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a vibrant French-inspired meal with a steakhouse flair in the city.
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Had brunch recently and everything was very good but nothing stood out as exceptional. We waited a long time for our coffees, in fact our appetizers were delivered before our coffees, we all ordered lattes. The escargot was delicious, The lobster bisque was good but a bit too buttery for my taste. The omelets were full with tons of cheese and vegetables. The mushroom ravioli was also delicious. The croquet madam was also on point. Overall it was a very good brunch aside from the wait for coffees.
La Grand Boucherie is genuinely so gorgeous. I was amazed as I passed through the restaurant. The ceiling near the bar is even more beautiful in person. We were seated on the second floor, which was a little tight, but I enjoyed it. It was like a little nook, and we could look over the railing towards the first floor/outdoor section below us and people watch. My sisters ordered the French Onion soup for starters, which they enjoyed. I ordered the filet with the bordelaise sauce. The meat was very tender but not as savory as I hoped. My sister ordered the bouef bourguignon and had mixed feelings. We were eager to try dessert but were rushing to see a show. Our waitress was very accommodating and rushed our dessert order for us. We ordered the creme brûlée, and it was fantastic! We were in a rush, so I'm missing a picture of our dessert, sadly. I will say this place is definitely a pretty penny, even the water and soda they charge per bottle. But overall, we had a wonderful time!
Tried the dinner prix fixe and it was decent but not memorable. The onion soup was comforting and well done, and the chocolate tart was the clear standout—rich and not overly sweet. The steak and mushroom ravioli were fine but fairly standard for the price. Beautiful space and classic brasserie vibe, but the food felt safe rather than exciting.
I recently visited BOUCHERIE Grand Central, drawn in by its festive, Christmassy vibe—which truly did not disappoint. The decor and atmosphere felt magical, full of holiday spirit and perfect for anyone searching for a cozy, seasonal spot in the city. However, my experience with the staff left something to be desired. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait nearly an hour to be seated, and a few of the receptionists seemed quite impatient and not very welcoming. This definitely took away from the overall experience and is an area that could use some improvement. When it came to the food, everything was just average, especially considering the high prices. While the menu looked promising, the dishes didn’t particularly stand out and didn’t quite live up to expectations for a place with such a reputation. Additionally, the restaurant was noisy, making it hard to have a conversation. Overall, while BOUCHERIE Grand Central nails the Christmas atmosphere, the long wait, average food, and noisy environment make it unlikely I’ll return. If you’re after holiday vibes and don’t mind the drawbacks, it might be worth a visit, but I’d recommend managing your expectations.
