My bestie and I were starving and looking for a cool place to eat and didn't even know that there was a vegan place 2 blocks from my new home! We ran into the owner who was really sweet and shared with us about the gradual shift they will be doing to include animal products in the store. I was a bit hesitant at first but after hearing his commitment to keeping animal meat from cross contaminating with vegan food it really made me feel a lot better. I love the care consideration and compassion Malibu burgers is trying to have as they make some important transitions. Now for the food, it was very flavorful and yummy! Ask for extra crispy fries, and you have to try the area shake, it was vegan and so so good! They seem to have a lot of really great gluten free items too. If you really need a great tasting burger, give it a try

This was just a damn good burger shop from texture, to flavor, to service. The burgers are loaded with all sorts of great things to give you a creative flavor profile, but then everything is plant plant based and much less guilty feeling cause I know it was healthier for me. Highly recommend the breafast burger sandwich and the chicken sandwich.

The cashier (Andrea) was such a homie, she was so kind and helpful, cheery and thoughtful, she answered all my questions with patience 🥰 wonderful service. And the food was DELICIOUS, like the burger was charred sooo well and the sauces were amazing, the chef really did a great job! What a great place to eat at 🥹💞

Facebook feed said today that being a vegan being part of the world's biggest family and I am glad to share the vegan family experience with y'alls. They will also share restaurant space with Fungi Foods so we can indulge in deep fried battered mushroom items that most people aren't going to make at home with all the setup involved. I'm sitting outside. I have to try a shake next time I come here. I should venture out and get other items. I really like the La Lulu chick'n sandwich. The fries are crinkle fries. Come on 6% of the population. Forgive my bites in the photos. I wanted to show a realistic side view of the chick'n sandwich.

100% vegan burger shop in Oakland with plenty of indoor seating. As a vegan, I'm so glad that this place exists! It's situated in a nice, upscale-feeling neighborhood that's well-lit and busy at night. I got a double Ghost Town burger and a cookies and creme shake on the side. The burger tasted good, but mine was missing the onion rings, which I honestly felt a small pang of disappointment about (since I specifically came here to see the novelty of an an extremely stacked burger), but it's also a bit on me since I was too socially awkward to ask the server about it. Nevertheless the burger was good and filling. Also the cookies and creme shake was excellent! The size is smallish but the quality is great. Would definitely come back again for the shakes! For dine-in, the tray doesn't come with liner - so maybe line it with napkins and get utensils before eating, since the large burgers can get messy and fall apart near the end.

Love this place. The food is consistently good and I always enjoy the shakes which are vegan but you honestly wouldn't know. Everyone I take here loves the energy and laid back vibe. Just grab a table and enjoy a bite. You can also tell the owner cares about providing a quality experience. In every location, from their days making burgers on a bus to their previous location it's been about quality and customer service in the community. I recommend!

Great burgers that will satisfy meat eaters to vegans. Great for groups with a mix of diets. I love the chikn sandwiches. It's not super busy and loud - very chill. Wait staff were lovely.

I love Casa la Borinquena & I want to support black businesses, especially vegan ones 💯 My last experience wasn’t the best & I wasn’t being fair with my review tbh. For that I do apologize & I really hope this family stays in business. Will be coming back for sure, anytime I am in the mood for burger & fries. Plus it’s local & convenient for me which is great!

I have been hoping to have a NextLevel burger, but now I have tried Malibu's Burgers and it's fantastic!!!! The owner Danny Malibu is such a compassionate man. He became vegan for the animals. This past weekend he handed out over a hundred to SNAP recipients with his famous burgers. The establishment is 100% plan based. Don't let that stop you. Go eat there and meet Chef Danny Malibu. There is plenty of protein in those burgers!

Really. This is a 7 stars, and clearly one of the best if Oakland. Perfect food, nice atmosphere, busy enough to be cozy. The staff is friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I met the owner: one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Shoutout to Amanda and the kitchen for taking an extremely late walk-in order from me 15 mins before closing ... hated to be that customer but Amanda was so kind about it! This was my first time here and Amanda went above and beyond, sharing their favorites, La Lula Chick'n Sandwich and the Ghosttown Burger ... both delicious!! Look forward to going back again!! 100% recommend!

Malibu is in my top 5 vegan restaurants of all time! The food is simple yet unique and has a signature flavor. Darren and his mom Lulu are very cool people too! Hope they reopen a location in Marin where I work, I would be a weekly customer!!

4 stars bc it's nice that it's an all vegan burger place, the fries and ube milkshake(with Oreo crumble) were really yummy! The burger was my least favorite, I think the sauce and/or the cheese on the burger I got was a bit too tangy and the burger overall was wet and could use more seasoning(salt, pepper,garlic powder, onion powder...). Not my best vegan burger, perhaps I will try their other menu options. Will def be back for the VEGANNN ube shake!!!

I've been vegan for 10 years. My reasoning for being vegan is for all the health benefits. Malibu burger was really good but it's not really healthy. It's healthier than actual meat products but Malibu burgers is junk food in the vegan world. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. Not the best. My daughter ordered a burger. The burger was smackin! Idk which burger it was. I've tried to eat here on many different occasions, and they have always been closed. Hours are shit!! Unless you plan it out. Lol Customer service was trash. Nice attitude once I talk to them or engage with them. But nobody spoke to me until I asked for some ketchup midway through my meal. Not even a "Welcome In" Solid comfort food if hungry and in the good. But would never dine in with friends and family. It was pricey too!
