Excellent service and great food

I visited this restaurant for this first time, ordered the salmon omelet special with carmalized potatoes on the side….. OH my goodness. The food was absolutely delicious. Seasoned and cooked to perfection, I hadn’t had a breakfast dish this well made in a very long time. I will be back!

Yoooo quote literally one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. Not a single crumb left on my plate. The ambiance, the drinks, the meal, Chef Lala was incredible. We had the deviled eggs and babyyyy 10/10. I had the blackened chicken and Mac and my husband had a Chef made pasta dish because he is vegetarian. It was quite literally perfection. What an experience.

So good it’s worth the drive from SF. Shawarmaji in Oakland is always fresh, flavorful, and seriously delicious. The shawarma is juicy, the sauces are amazing, and everything just hits. One of my favorite spots never disappoints.

This place is a unicorn. There are plenty of fast casual places around DT Oakland and some are delicious but are lacking in vegetables or healthy options. Love that this has omnivore and plant forward dishes. We ordered the chicken shawarma fries, house salad, falafel, pita. Everything was super flavorful, layered, complex, fresh. Perfect balances of savory, acidic, rich, bright, crunchy. Chicken was juicy and tender, falafel was crunchy on the outside but moist on the inside and slightly herbaceous in flavor. Prices and vibe are family friendly, my kids liked the meal too. Enjoyed the fun Arabic pop and rap music. Am so glad we finally tried this place, we will be back.

Found this place after a concert and wow, glad we did. Food was awesome, and the portion was huge. My regret is we were not able to take the leftover shawarma fries with us. Put the hot sauce on, you’ll thank me. The rice pudding was top notch.

This is the shawarma I’ve been waiting for and how did it take me this long to go? I shared a chicken wrap and a lamb wrap with my companion and both were stellar, though we both preferred the warm spices of the chicken a bit more. They have house made toum and harissa - both are not to be missed, but be forewarned that toum should only be eaten with the person you’re planning to kiss later as the garlic is intense (as it should be). You won’t be disappointed at anything you try here. It is truly excellent.

I love the chicken shawarma fries. They will wake up your mouth with deliciousness. I have never seen these offered in other places. They are so flavorful and the serving is huge. Serves 2-4 people depending on what else you are having.

Amazingly delicious chicken shawarma wrap that was literally the length of my FOREARM 🤯 the toum was super garlicky like it's supposed to be, and it's both in the wrap and on the side for dipping. Counter service was super friendly and the vibes were very chill throughout the place. They offer a free water dispenser along with chilled drinks.

Delicious Middle Eastern meals full of flavor and freshly prepared. We shared the chicken and lamb/beef Arabi plates with Tabouleh and Tahini salads as our sides. The chicken comes with pickles in the wrap that add a burst of flavor. The extra sides of Toum and Tahini added to the flavors. Our chicken also came with an orangish sauce, maybe it was the Shatta (hot sauce) which was very tasty but not very spicy.

Came here for the first time and loved everything I tried. My favorite was the chicken shawarma fries, the garlic sauce and the chicken were cooked to perfection. The fries here are so good, so it made their special toppings even better. I tried their rice pudding and I loved that it wasn’t too sweet and was given pistachios to add to the top. Friends had wraps that were really good, the lamb fries were also good but the chicken was my favorite. I tried a new drink Freez Mix and it was so good!

Our server forgot to refresh our water, we had to ask to get the salad before our food. And still came after our entrees. Also our entrees were cold. Expectations lead to disappointments for this chef. I am a professional chef always looking for great food. Not this time.

I like the well-marinated and juicy chicken. Sides are everything you need, toum, pickles and french fries (crispy and absolutely amazing) Only problem is I find the salt amount a bit over-whelming (shawarma and fries Solid shawarma place overall!

Ok so Shawarmaji has all the makings of a restaurant that’s about to get BIG. Incredible, authentic Jordanian food, cool clean and colorful aesthetic, and expanding literary as I was eating in the restaurant (new location coming pictured here across the street). Got the chicken shawarma arabi style and WOWOWOWOW, so good. The trio of hummus, toum, and garlic suace was utterly divine to go with the wrap and fries. The home made pickles on the side were also perfect freshener to cut the heaviness of the meal. Went just before lunchtime to beat the rush as it’s a popular lunch spot for people working in downtown Oakland. Only downside of the experience was that as soon as I ordered, the food was ready. Like the food had already been prepared in advanced and was not all the way hot anymore. I get that they need too stay ahead of the lunch rush, but stomach eventually got rocked. No regrets as it was a very good meal, just keep an eye out for that. I’m would have happily waited longer for HOT food.

The lamb shawarma was very tasty. Thin but long. Would probably need 2 to feel full. 23 after tips. Don’t think that because you tip you’re getting served, they’ll just scream a number and if you’re talking or using headphones you may miss out your food.

Dine in at 6:00pm on 12/11/2025. Came here after work for dinner. Not sure what happened but instant stomach pain after eating. I type this at 11:00pm while I’m on the toilet constant diarrhea since I’ve consumed the beef/lamb Shawarma 😭 $18 for one long wrap with not a lot of other ingredients other than meat. Also the fries were definitely fried multiple times so it was not fresh. Unfortunately will not be coming here again!

Came at 3 and no chicken skin tacos, and it took 15 min to get 2 drinks and only 4 ppl here. The drinks were cool we got the cucumber jalapeño margarita

The service my party was provided was the second worst of any dining experience in my life. I have worked as a server at a restaurant before. 6:05: Arrival. We waited at the host “desk” for 10 minutes before anyone came to help seat us for the reservation we had made. 6:35: Waiter comes to our table. We waited more than 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order. No water provided yet. 6:45: Water at last 6:55: Food - no blame to the kitchen, they seemed to be putting food out in a reasonable timeline after orders were taken. We were given an incorrect dish, and missed two side dishes. 7:00: Correct dish provided. 7:20: All food consumed, ready for check. 7:30: Table that was seated 30 minutes after us receive their checks, they’re free to go. 7:35: another party, who seemed to be friends with the staff (speculation so take this with a grain of salt), decided to move a table around, knocking over a fake tree in a pot next to my girlfriend. I managed to catch the tree before it hit her head. A quick sorry was given, but no other comment was granted. No offer of any kind, which while not to be expected, would have been a nice touch in the service department, but, no surprise there. 7:45: We are finally given a check. The waiter stares intently at me as the tip screen shows up. I submit my tip. A screen is displayed: “No paper in printer, please refill to continue.” 7:50: The waiter comes back out with the receipt, we can finally end this experience.

The service was atrocious, and I almost got killed by a falling tree next to our table :) more on that later. We waited 40 minutes just to get water, and they messed up our order in multiple ways, bringing us dishes we didn’t order and neglecting the ones we did order. We also never got a second round of waters despite asking repeatedly. I would maybe understand if the restaurant was extremely crowded but it wasn’t at all. Now to the falling tree. At some point during our dinner, a bunch of customers came in and started moving around the tables. The staff gave them free rein– it looked like they were friends with them. One man, when moving a table, knocked over a tree that was next to my table. Had my boyfriend not caught it, it would have fallen on me and caused some serious damage. No apology or explanation from the staff. Just business as usual for them, I guess. I thought about addressing them about this, but at that point I was so miserable all I wanted was to get out of there. Quite the adventure eating here. If you want to want to get a random assortment of dishes completely different from your order AND risk your life while you’re at it, would definitely recommend!

First off, it was hard to find this place because their location has changed but has not been updated . The food tasted ok, nice presentation of the salad, but after eating this food, my stomach started feeling really bad. I was on the toilet non stop for about a day! I spent almost $50 for food poisoning, thanks Shwarmamaji, I’ll never come back!!!! Unfortunately, this is a real review! An honest review! Perhaps check your address and update on Google Maps and Apple Maps, mmmmkay?! Soo is your correct address 2100 Franklin ? Or is it somewhere else like I said? 🤭🤨 like 2190 Franklin?!

We were really excited that we wound this place and was ready for a great experience. We ordered several different items from the menu but all of the meat products were dry and tough. The two falafel products were okay. They forgot 1 of dishes.
