Opinions de Memo Shish Kebab Broadway
We eat at Memo once a month or so and people there are very kind and accommodating. I love lamb gyro, actually that is the reason of why we go to Turkish restaurants. My husband thinks that gyro there is not as flavorful as it is at different places we have eaten. Today we ate gyro it was yummy and servers were very attentive. A gentlemen named Berdat even brought a toy car for our son. It was a very sweet gesture.
Excellent service! the knafeh is the best in the city. Chicken & Lamb is tender, rice is delicious, bread is fresh alongside the labneh & hummus. The staff is eager to serve you and rest assured i will be back for more! WE LOVED MEMO SHISH!
I am not from Brooklyn but was looking for a good place to eat after my meeting around the area. I stumbled into this gem and was delightfully surprised by how amazing everything was! The place is spacious and clean. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was so warm and wonderful! Sezen took good care of me and made me feel right at home. I ordered lamb Adana - it was very juicy and flavorful. I’ve been craving for some caffeine too and tried the Turkish coffee for the first time - it was perfect and sure hit the spot. I also loved the baklava and hot tea they graciously offered after paying the bill. The hot tea really helped warm me up before I headed back in the frigid, snowy weather. The location is convenient to commuters, is close to the train and some parking spaces around the block. I would highly recommend to those who happen to be in the area and would like to enjoy a warm, delicious and comforting meal and hospitable service.
One of the best Turkish places in Brooklyn. I always say that if you want to try 100% authentic Turkish food, you should take a flight to Turkey—but this place is as close as it gets. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried here so far. The food is incredible, the tea and coffee are perfect, and the service deserves a special mention. The servers are incredibly attentive, kind, and welcoming—it truly makes the experience even better. I love coming here whenever I get the chance. A true gem.
We had a wonderful experience dining here with our family. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit. They were very accommodating to our needs, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was warm and family-friendly, and everything ran smoothly. We truly appreciated the great service and would happily return. Highly recommended!
Memo Shish Kebab is a place that truly stands out with its delicious food and friendly service. The meat is always fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Portions are generous, and the balance of sauces, vegetables, and spices makes every wrap or plate incredibly satisfying. Whether you choose a kebab, a box, or a platter, the quality is consistently impressive. The staff is polite, quick, and always helpful, even during busy hours. You can tell they care about providing a good experience and making sure every order comes out just right. The place is clean, well-kept, and comfortable to eat in, which adds to the overall positive impression. Memo Shish Kebab is an excellent choice for anyone craving tasty, well-prepared food at a fair price. A reliable spot for a quick lunch, a filling dinner, or a late-night bite. Highly recommended!
The server Vedat is always so nice, friendly. We have been coming here every two months and the food is great, Vedat is always taking care of us and we love it. Today I had lahmacun and it was the best lahmacun I had in New York the closest to what I used to have in Turkey. Will definitely come back.
A Five-Star Feast at Memo Turkish Grill! Memo Turkish Grill and Restaurant has truly mastered the art of Turkish cuisine, earning every bit of this five-star review! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by incredibly friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, creating a welcoming and comfortable dining experience whether you choose to sit in, take out, or have your delicious meal conveniently delivered. What truly sets Memo apart is its large variety of dishes. The menu is a delightful journey through Turkish flavors, offering something for every palate. Every dish we tried was clearly made with fresh ingredients, a commitment to quality that shines through in every bite. The flavors are, for the most part, wonderfully authentic, transporting you straight to the bustling streets of Istanbul. Whether you're craving succulent kebabs, flavorful mezzes, or traditional pides, Memo delivers. The attention to detail, from the perfectly grilled meats to the vibrant salads, is evident. It's rare to find a restaurant that excels in so many areas, but Memo Turkish Grill does just that. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a top-notch Turkish dining experience. We can't wait to go back!
If you like a Turkish cuisine you definitely will enjoy simple but always fresh, well seasoned and delicious dishes in this restaurant. My most favorite meal is pita with meat mix. Before your order you will get a warm and delicious homemade bread as a starter which is nice. Pita bread is thin and filled with enough meat and veggies to make you feel full. In addition you will get two kinds of sauce: tomato based and tzatziki. If it is not enough there are other kinds of seasonings on the table for your choice. You can get meat with pita, wrap, home bread or on plate with rice on the side. Good choice and fair pricing. The restaurant also offers variety of desserts. We tried cream caramel and it was fluffy, not too sweet and tasty. Your meal can be complement with authentic soda drinks which is refreshing. And of course I must admit that the service is great.
Been coming here for 12 years, maybe more. Food is consistently good. I've tried nearly the whole menu. My go-to for lunch is the chicken gyro platter or sandwich. Their kebabs are also great, always made to order. We often come with friends for dinner as well. Love their Turkish bread!
We really liked the food and service. Everything was delicious, especially grilled chicken wings. The restaurant feels like you're in a traditional Turkish restaurant.

The chicken adana was amazing, and i loved how it was a tomato/cucumber/red onion salad instead of a big leafy one bc the fresh acidity paired well with the rest. the kunefe was good as well, but the menu showed it with pistachio and they served us one with walnut instead so i was a bit disappointed by that. No picture, but the calamari is very tender and it’s served with a cream sauce instead of a tomato one, and it was a different but tasty change from the usual
Reliable Turkish favorite in Brooklyn! Memo Shish Kebab delivers tender, flavorful kebabs — the special lamb shish is smoky and juicy perfection, mixed grill platters are huge and satisfying with great char. Food is fresh and halal, service is friendly and quick (even when busy), atmosphere is casual and welcoming with that classic spot vibe. Portions are generous, prices fair. Minor thing: can get crowded/loud at peak times, but worth it for solid Turkish eats. 4.5 stars — longtime neighborhood go-to!
I wandered into Memo Shish Kebab on 1821 Kings Hwy in Brooklyn — a place with Turkish roots, a long-standing Halal kitchen, and more than a touch of ambition. Here’s how it played out. The setting This is not the hushed white-tablecloth temple of gastronomy. Instead, Memo’s is a lively corner spot: warm lights, comfortable enough chairs, an open grill visible in the back where the meats rotate, spices wafting out into the room. According to their own story, the restaurant traces its lineage back three generations and to a father-from-Urfa named Mehmet “Memo” who brought the recipes to Brooklyn after working in America. That history gives the place character — you feel you’re dealing with tradition, not just trend. The food I started with a plate of mixed kebabs: lamb shish, chicken adana, and a bit of doner. The lamb had good texture and char-points; the seasoning was honest, with echoes of cumin and sumac, garlic and grilled onion. On top of that, the hummus and freshly baked bread made a nicely balanced opening act. Many reviewers confirm the ingredient quality: “The food is consistently good … top quality.” For the main act the lamb shish was strong — tender, juicy, well-grilled. Dessert? Not extravagant, but the sweet note was a welcome finish. The vibe The dining room is full without being cramped; staff are friendly though not theatrical. It’s late-night friendly too (open until 2 a.m., per the website). The crowd is mixed: local families, late-night hangers-on, folks in the know. The market here is honest, not ostentatious. The caveats A few things kept me from giving Memo the perfect five stars: • While the meat was excellent, some of the sides were serviceable rather than standout. The rice-pilaf, for example, did its job — but didn’t sing. • Pricing is fair for what you get, but the “upgrade” premium kicks in when you start choosing the premium cuts or the larger combos. Some patrons say it’s “a bit expensive.” • The décor and ambiance, while comfortable, do not scream “destination fine dining.” If you expect a candlelit Turkish feast, you’ll find something more casual here. The verdict Memo Shish Kebab delivers in the way that matters: serious cooking, real flavour, integrity of ingredients and tradition. If you’re walking those streets hungry and want something more than a burger but less than a prix-fixe fuss, this is where you land. 4 ★ — A strong meal, meaningful experience, only a few minor places where it could improve. If you go: ask for the lamb shish, share the mixed platter so you get variety, arrive at a time when you can enjoy the space rather than rush through it. You’ll leave content, with a story of spice and charcoal lingering in the air.

I’ve eaten here before and had much better food and service. We had the Octopus salad and honestly wasn’t good at all 95 %of it was lettuce,it wasn’t worth the $ at all. Service was ok, the waiter stood over us the entire time. Why,we don’t know. The gyro meat itself is very good. The lamb kabobs, taste good but very small for a large plate and price. Not sure if I’ll be back to eat there, maybe take out!
I ordered the lamb kebab plate. It was tasty enough for a quick lunch. I think I’ll try lamb meatballs next time to see if I enjoy those more.

I went to Memo Shish Kebab late last night, craving a good gyro nearby. Since it’s a Turkish spot, I expected they’d know how to make a proper, flavorful chicken gyro but what I got was basically a dry salad wrap in Turkish Pita. No sauce, no flavor, and they didn’t even ask if I wanted any. If I wanted something that dry and green heavy, I would’ve just ordered a salad instead. The place itself is clean and the seating is fine, but I came for the food and it wasn’t worth the $ .
Order was cold and chicken dry, don't know what happened to this place, but it's not the same.

It's my first time getting food from Memo shish kabab and not worth it it's ordered to go 02 smal and one large chicken Gyro I also mentioned that it's my first time getting the food, making sure it's delicious . But as soon I take home which 05 kin away from the restaurant and open with surprises that chicken is vary dry box fill with salad alot and less rice rice is as well very dry not fresh and chicken tastes less sucses in very small cup nothing look fresh and not taste so bad and texture as well . I am very unhappy and unfortunately not plan to come back might be there. Other food items must be delicious, but the first impression goes so wrong and ruined my experience I hope people like it, but my recommendation is i think dinni in may be its different experience. I hope so
