What a nightlife place this place could be. The drinks are cheap and good, food is decent, and the parties they have are epic. Only negative comment is that it is a small bar and get's packed very quickly, so if you suffer from claustrophobia, this joint ain't for you. But if you still want to party and make friends and drink and have a good time, then Mickey's is your place.

I went next door first and was absolutely disillusioned. Came to Mickeys and was treated so well. Isabella, Emma, Katarina, and Will took such good care of us. Drinks are so affordable and the dance floor is awesome. Also something must be said for the clientele which is HOT and MELANATED. I love it here. Coming back a million times.

I arrived at the place on the recommendation of a waiter in a restaurant... I exceeded expectations! If you like Latin music, reggaeton and drinks at a good price, this is the place. I was amazed by the safety of the place. The people in charge do their job without a doubt and that makes you feel confident and at home. The waiters are super attentive, especially the girl from Brazil. My boyfriend speaks the language a little and we talk to her in a friendly and genuine way. I met the owner personally and he is an amazing man who knows how to run his business. I would definitely come back to this place every Friday night.

I had to make a review because it's rare I come across a bar in NYC that is exceptional. The customer service here is outstanding and the drinks are cheap. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Def a good spot for alcy quickly and with lots-o-gays. Which is the point obvi. Um maybe come drunk already or something idk. It’s got the lights, music, and crowd to amuse the party animal in you. Come here to kick off your night and slug a few drinks back with friend. Def not a baby gender reveal spot but like what do I know about that culture, I’ve never been pregnant. The bar tenders are quick and cool- and kinda cute, especially the tall one with the long Gaston hair.

Been coming to this place for about a year now. This place never fails to disappoint. Started coming here last summer and I could always count on a strong stiff drink after a hard day of work. First time back in the winter and it is the same strong “heavy handed” drinks. It’s always good to see Zack (the bar tender) and other familiar faces. Now new food menu items have taken this place to a new level. Is this a neighborhood bar or a high end lounge? This place has been a staple for years, recommended by locals, and it’s not just a gay bar. They have cheap frozen margaritas that actually hit, and it’s only $2 extra to add a flavor. The large size is $10 (and it’s not the one shown in their photos). The spicy watermelon margarita is also really good and has a nice kick. The pop music is fun, but it gets super crowded on weekends. In the summer, it’s really nice to sit outside, though there’s no music out there.

Whenever I have to meet friends for dinner at Hell’s Kitchen which is a neighbourhood on the West Side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City, I always drop by Mickey Spillane’s to grab a glass of FM. The music is giving a good vibe which the crowd loves. The service is pretty good and fast!

Great place great people - I’ve been coming to all of there establishments for over 8 years now. Through the good and bad times this place always seems to be your bar that brings happiness and decently priced drinks and food. They welcome everyone from locals to visitors , family member and best friends. I would highly recommend checking this place out, it’s one of the few amazingly priced bars that are in Hell’s Kitchen. A new drag show on Sunday’s is just Stellar and they always practice social distancing which is always enforced according to NYC guidelines and laws. Thanks Mickeys for always proving a safe place for everyone to come to and enjoy.

The service here is not great they are friendly when you can catch them. When you do get a waiter's attention order everything and fast. They tell you "I'll be back" and it takes them about 10 min to be back. Cool spot, affordable prices but they need more waitstaff.

As I was pulling out my ID to show the bouncer at Mickey Spillane’s Bar in NYC, he told me that I was “entitled.” I had only stepped outside to smoke a cigarette, and when I returned, he didn’t recognize me—which is understandable. However, being spoken to in that manner while I was complying with his request was both unprofessional and degrading. I’ve always loved this place—it feels like home—and I’ve consistently respected the staff and the restaurant’s values. That’s why this experience was so disappointing. I never expected to be treated this way at an establishment I hold in such high regard. The interaction was not only unnecessary but also completely out of character for a place I’ve always appreciate. His name is Jacob.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Mickey Spillane’s just now—so much so that I didn’t even get to experience the actual bar. When I arrived, there were people standing on both sides of the entrance, so I walked up, ready to show my ID as usual. The man checking IDs immediately snapped at me, saying, "You need to get in line" in the most rude and disrespectful way I’ve ever heard. I hadn’t realized there was a line, but I quickly stepped back and waited. After standing in line for five minutes, the same bouncer claimed it looked like I had already had too much to drink and denied me entry. This was completely unfounded—I’d only been to one bar earlier in the evening. The whole experience was so frustrating that I decided to just bike home, which clearly shows I was in full control of my faculties. I wasn’t even able to experience the bar itself, and based on this interaction, I have no desire to ever return. If this is how bouncers treat potential customers, I recommend others think twice before visiting.

Traveled from Texas to be with friends and came here because it looked chill and everyone inside was smashing. The gentleman checking the IDs was so sweet and asked me to have fun coming from Texas. Then a gentleman in a bandana, smelling of alcohol and fumbling, came up to my friend and told us to go ahead and leave because he had a small bag on then proceeded to ask him if he had a problem. He then told us to go ahead and leave for NO reason. He then told the security sitting at the table “I kicked them out because I’m in a bad mood” and laughed. As we walked out, I informed the ID guy then bandana guy proceeded to charge up to our group and listen to the conversation. He got an attitude when I said I could hear him tell the security what he said and changed his story completely. Anyways, as long as bandana guy can be sober PRIOR to being in the clock and kicking people out for ZERO reason, go ahead and go. Music was fun for the 70 seconds we got to sing before he B-Lined towards us 😂

I had a horrible experience last night. verbally abused by white guy security, moustache and grey hair, wearing a leather jacket. ( for context I am 5’5 female). I have never experienced aggression like it and I will never be back.

Came in for a drink. Manager sat on his phone the entire time.. The bartender said 2 words and sat on her phone the entire time lmao.. To many options to go back here.

The security guards are so damn aggressive and rude as hell for no reason. Stepped outside to smoke and they wouldn’t let me back in?? Just very nasty and combative behavior. I wasn’t able to get my belongings back or anything. Used to be good but lately this bar is no longer for the lgbtq or poc.

Mickey’s Spinellies is an unsafe space. The security guard at the front was on a power trip and really bad at his job, refusing entry without reason. In one short interaction, the staff showed that inclusivity and respect aren’t priorities here. There are far better places in NYC that actually care about community and safety — this isn’t one of them.

I went to get a drink with a friend and everything was going ok until one of the Security Guards became aggressive and hostile out of no where. We went outside because the inside was crowded, the bar back wiped off the table for us - we decided to stand, and then here comes this Black 40 something bald dude yelling we can’t be outside with drinks. Meanwhile, he walked past a group of 4 people with drinks and said nothing even when following us back inside. Once inside he then aggressively approached us and told us we had to stand one place or the other not both. However, we’re in a bar with standing room only. We left immediately after that. I just wanted a few drinks with a friend but was met with such hostility and aggression for literally standing and drinking inside a bar. Terrible Experience!! I do not recommend.

I believe that working in a multicultural city like New York requires a certain level of understanding and respect for people from all backgrounds. Unfortunately, my experience with this individual was disappointing. When I tried to order something, I was ignored, and it felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Later in the evening, when my friends who had a bit too much to drink spoke to her in a way that wasn’t ideal, her reaction felt more harsh than necessary. What stood out the most was the way she treated us overall it felt like we were being treated differently simply because we were from another country. In a diverse city like New York, that kind of attitude is not acceptable. This isn’t North Carolina; this is a city built on diversity and cultural exchange. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, no matter where they’re from.

Didn't have my physical ID on me (my bad) but when I asked security if a photo of it + my passport were good enough he said "are you deaf?" When I literally am :/

On Gay Pride Day I was treated badly by the security guard who was very stupid at the entrance and said I wasn't going to enter. He was rude to me and my friends. a horrible experience where we should be welcomed for being gay

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received from the security guard Aaron. The bar itself is truly amazing and the atmosphere deserves praise, but unfortunately, I was treated disrespectfully. I stepped outside to smoke a cigar on the street, and when I tried to return to my table, Aaron refused to let me back in, saying I could only smoke on the corner. Even though I was outside the establishment and did not disrespect any rules, I was denied re-entry and couldn’t even go back in to pay my bill. This kind of behavior is extremely unreasonable and unnecessary, and it ruined the experience in a place that otherwise strives to provide good service. I kindly ask that this situation be reviewed, as I believe it does not reflect the bar’s standards or the welcoming atmosphere it is known for.

Horrible food. Wings were soggy, meatballs were cold and the waiter seemed as if he was waiting on his first table. My backside is sore from the $60 check. Never again. Ever. Save your time and money for a place that actually cares about your patronage.

The first few times I went here I loved it. The last few times it's gotten worse. To many people, bumping and pushing you. People at the front door very rude and disrespectful. Instead of talking to us correctly they're talking to you like you're a child and blatantly disrespectful. If I can give a 0 stars I would.

I would like to complain about this abusive person at the door! On Friday November 28 at 11:01 I went out to smoke a cigarette and when I came back this Unprofessional person stop me and I thought he wanted to see my ID but what he wanted was make me stand in line again even if I said that I was inside with my friends and I have my jacket and my belongings inside. He Came back to my face and he screamed to me :"Go back to the line we are full" at that point the only thing that I say was: Don't need to be laud with me and probably I hurt his Ego. Abusive and disrespectful. He falsely accused me to be drunk just because I requested respect from his Ego. I will contact the owner as soon as possible to show him the video of the interaction. I had been a great customer of the bar and from the others business from the same owner including Vodka Soda my favorite bar. All my Italian friends we had amazing evening and we never had any problems with the security guard before this weekend. And to be clean the second "guard" he try to deascalate and help me to recover my jacket.

I had a very disappointing and humiliating experience at Mickey’s Spillane’s on 49th Street on November 1st around 9 PM. When I arrived, one of the staff members — a shorter Hispanic man — told me I couldn’t roll up my weed inside (which I completely respected) and said I could do so on the other side of the fence, where smoking is allowed. The fence is very small and right by the exit, so I simply stepped over it instead of walking all the way around. Moments later, another employee — a Caucasian man — aggressively approached me and asked, “Are you slow?” He then continued to insult and demean me in front of others, questioning my intelligence for stepping over the fence. While I tried to calmly explain that I was following the instructions I was given by the first staff member, that same Hispanic man joined in on the disrespect instead of clarifying that he had given me permission. I was treated with unnecessary hostility and public embarrassment for doing exactly what their own staff told me was fine. It was unprofessional, degrading, and completely avoidable. Management should really train their staff on basic respect and communication. Nobody deserves to be spoken to or humiliated like that — especially when following directions given by the establishment itself.

What a joke!!! Don’t fall for their bate and switch of the $5 margarita!!! Especially if you order yours on ice instead of their $5 frozen.. they won’t tell you but you’ll end up paying $10 for a weak drink and they’ll sell you on a double!! Basically you’ll get a $10 drink.. mostly ice, no alcohol and a large bill for a 9th street bar!!! Get somewhere else!!

I was visiting New York City with a friend of mine and came to Mickey’s after he recommended we attend. Unfortunately, the security guards there are extremely rude and aggressive which created a problematic and unwelcoming environment. Rather than informing my friend that he couldn’t come back inside, the security guard (tall, white, brolic, and bald) shoved him (very short and tiny! Didn’t require that.) with such force that his shoe came off and he ended up in the street. This was honestly very traumatizing especially after being told this was a lgbtq+ and POC friendly establishment. When I spoke to the manager about the situation, he simply said he didn’t care and said my friend wasn’t allowed back into the bar again! Very disheartening and put an unforgettable stain on my trip.

Upon entering, my partner shows the security guard his ID. He believes he was okay to go in but apparently not and was stopped with an arm blocking his entrance. The security guard rudely scolded him and told us to wait in line. The place was packed like sardines so we had to wait outside in a line which was understandable. I went first since my partner’s interaction with the security guard was not pleasant which made him uncomfortable. I was let in and then my other friend, but when it was my partners turn he was denied entry. When he asked why, he was ignored and told to leave without any reason in particular. Other people were let in after him with no problem but only he was not allowed in. Update: We still don’t know the reason why he could not get inside nor the reason why the security guard stopped him so rudely and denied his entry.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my terrible experience with the security guard, Aaron. While the venue itself is beautiful and has great potential, the way I was treated completely ruined my night. I arrived with friends and everything was fine until I briefly stepped outside to take a phone call. When I tried to return, Aaron stopped me at the door and treated me with unnecessary rudeness. He spoke to me in a very disrespectful manner, as if I had done something wrong, even though I was a paying guest and had left my belongings and drink inside. I politely explained that I just needed to get back to my table, but instead of listening, Aaron raised his voice and acted as if I was causing trouble. Other guests witnessed the situation and I felt humiliated for no reason. In the end, I wasn’t even allowed to re-enter to collect my things properly, which is completely unacceptable. It’s deeply disappointing that such a great venue would allow a member of staff to create such a hostile atmosphere. This experience turned what should have been a memorable night into a nightmare. Management seriously needs to address Aaron’s behavior, because until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
