It’s always a pleasure to stop by here on a Sunday afternoon and get greeted by Alex & Emad. Always a smile, a cherry hello and tasty cocktails and food.
Mazon is really nice! Give us a few shots. We love this pub so much
Irish Breakfast is available on St Patrick's Day only. For me, the highlights of the dish were Irish sausage (pretty good), soda bread (nicely toasted with hints of caraway), black & white pudding (was my first pudding experience. It was alright, slight crunch from the oats and overall a bit more fried than I expected). The Irish chicken curry was alright (FYI doesn't come with rice—don't @ me), it was not bland but there's nothing special other than what tasted like hints of beer in the curry. The vibe is nice though, would definitely come back.
Stopped into The Playwright and had the best experience thanks to Alex at the bar! She’s an incredible bartender — super knowledgeable, quick, and so personable. Even when it’s busy, she keeps everything running smoothly and makes everyone feel taken care of. Exceptional service, great cocktails, and real hospitality. Highly recommend sitting at her bar!
Walked in as the snow storm was picking up and it was close to the hotel and other places in the area were closing. Had no idea what to expect. The burger was absolutely terrific. If you are in town and you want a true NY bar with great food, this is it. Oh, and Mazzu our bartender was great.
The bartender Alex was amazing! Upbeat, very personable and funny, while attentive to our group. If only she could of given us a taste of them ribs (not on menu) that their chef gave her ;-)
Stopped by The Playwright after a long day in a professional training and couldn’t have picked a better spot. Alex made the night. She was attentive, quick with service, and made everyone feel welcome.Even during a busy rush, she kept the vibe fun and easygoing. Exceptional hospitality — exactly what you hope for in a great Irish pub.
Spent four evenings at The Playwright due to the cold weather and the close distance to our hotel. All the staff we met were very welcoming. Comfortable and warm atmosphere. Drinks and food were excellent. Can't fault there service. I look forward to visiting them in the future. We'll done guys!

This place is my favorite place to go to! From the food to the drinks - music is always SO GOOD!!! Mazum is the MAN! He makes the best drink and is such a great person. He’s so attentive and caring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! This place is so fun on weekdays but even better on weekends!!! Such a VIBEEEE
Our waitress, Shahi, could not have been nicer and more attentive. My husband and I were both not feeling well and she noticed. Continued to check on us and even made us some tea with lemon and honey after our dinner. The owner also came over to make sure we had everything we wanted.
Had an amazing time at the Playwright Irish Pub! The staff were very attentive and well, we're so friendly and professional. The music was the perfect level and the vibes were great. I can't wait to come back and that might be the best shepherds pie I've ever had in my entire life.
Pulled up a spot to the bar and felt right at home. The bartender Alex was crushing it behind the bar and BEST espresso martini. Don’t normally stop by, but I will be again! Perfect spot to stop, especially if looking for a quick drink and a fun crowd. Music was also on FIRE!
i loved this place so much! we're on vacation and weren't sure where to go out for drinks, we walked down the street and stumbled upon this place and oh my god are we glad we did. the bartender Mazum was amazing, he provided excellent and personable service. drinks great, we would highly recommend this place to anyone of our friends visiting and we will be returning!!!

This was such a great find after our Empire state building expirence! Great food! Great staff and very reasonable price! They even made my son a special drink because he doesnt drink soda and wanted a refreshing drink other than water.
Was in town for work and flight got cancelled so I did a little sight seeing and stopped in here for a pint and some dinner. Had an extremely pleasant conversation with the man at the bar. He made some phenomenal recommendations for me to spend my extra time in the city and went the extra mile to write them down for me on a piece of note paper. On top of that the food was great and the beer was cold.
Mazum is the most talented bartender in the whole tri state area! I will continue to come to this bar forever!

A lowkey bar (mind you I was here on a Monday afternoon), with a good selection of beers and your average pub food. Food is fine, average, but the service is top tear. That dark haired beauty behind the bar? She stole my heart, I'll tell ya right now. Kind, attentive, sharp as a tack that one, tip her well fellas and you'll get a smile that'll outshine every light in NY I promise you that. Thank you to all the staff! I killed a few hours at that place, I will return when next I am in your fair city.

Mazum has always won a special place in my heart. I’ve been visiting since his early days in 2016 where he’s always treated me like family. From day one he’s always been warm, jubilant and welcoming. From the second I walk in, to the time I leave, I have the BEST service. Drinks filled before I can ask, and conversations that last all night. With the continuity you can only ask if a real friend. Most of all he’s a family man, truly caring and welcomes all. He facilitates conversations between all people to make the most memorable experiences. His charisma, dedication, and kindness always brings me back. I and many others who have had the pleasure of being his friend consider this place a home. I always think of him and this establishment first when I think of anything related to a good time. I truly value the service he’s provided me over the years and hopefully the many more to come.

A bit pricey, but honestly worth it. It's a chill place, with a very good atmosphere. The burgers are great, as well as the draft beer selection. If you go during a Knicks game, odds are you will see people watching it and cheering.
We were pleasantly surprised by this little pub in very tourist heavy midtown. They had a table for our group of 7 within minutes. For starters we had the Bavarian Pretzel which was tasty, a tender plate of Calimari, and Beer Battered Mozzarella Sticks which the kids loved. For dinner the Shepherds Pie was a favorite and the burgers were cooked to order. The fish and chips were good. The chicken sandwich and chicken strips were very well received by our kids. Service was quick and super attentive. We would definitely go again.
