Opinions de The Purple Tongue Broadway
Beautiful restaurant, wonderful service, the food and wine are delicious. They also do a range of sake cocktails which taste really good. It’s elegant, cozy spot to catch up with friends in mid town west/ Hell’s Kitchen area. I hope more people can discover and visit this place for a lovely meal/ night out.
The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. My friend had the endive salad which had a distinctly mustard flavor and was very yummy. I enjoyed the pasta and the primitivo. The cauliflower looked like it was cooked well and my friends said they enjoyed their asparagus soup.
Eating at The Purple Tongue was such a cozy and welcoming experience. The staff is incredibly knowable about wine, very friendly, and the food is fantastic! Their octopus and endive salad are my favorite. It has the quality of a fancy restaurant without the pretentiousness! What’s great about The Purple Tongue is that Pete, the owner, is often there to welcome you, and you can rely on his knowledge to guide you through their expensive fine wine and food.
This is the kind of place you wished it existed in your home town. I happened to walked by 30 minutes prior to the bar closing time. I was welcomed with a very classy and genuine attitude. I was a little depressed as I live in Texas, and not completely happy about my residence town. The owner happened to be there; he welcomed me. I was able to learn why this bar is called The Purple Tongue. Very nice concept. Very nice owner, excellent wine, excellent service, knowledgeable and classy, yet fun place. The concept and decoration makes so much sense. It's fun once you get it. Kind people, kind service. Total coherence. Loved it. I hope a place like this could exist in Texas or in my hometown Chile. 100% coherence. Thank you!
The Purple Tongue is awesome! Such a beautiful place for dinner! The food is outstanding, the wait staff is kind and extremely attentive, and the environment is warm and welcoming! Everything is done so purposefully and intentionally, you can tell that the staff goes above and beyond to make their customers feel at home. I would highly highly recommend this place to everyone!!!
The high star rating is earned here! The food was presented well. This was an enjoyable meal. The server did not allow our glasses to be empty. Serving of appetizers was at a fair amount of time. As well the mains. Thanks Great meal after the theater!!
I can’t comment on the happy hour. But I can leave a comment on a Tuesday night at 10 pm. The owner and wait staff are exceptional. Service was great and the wine selection debatably better. The orange wine was great! Cheese board was also a nice compliment. If you want a taste of Europe, this is the spot!
Great food, excellent service, and chill & quiet atmosphere (we visited around 6:30pm on 7/18, which is a Friday evening). All the menu items that we ate were delicious. We sat the bar, and the bartender was extremely attentive & friendly. Also, a very cool giraffe themed interior. Highly recommended.
Dear the Purple Tongue Team, On behalf of the OKTA NY Next Generation group, I want to sincerely thank you for helping us host a fantastic Connection Night on June 21st. The space, service, and thoughtful coordination all contributed to a truly memorable evening for our members and guests. The wine selections were a hit—especially the reds from Bora’s portfolio—and the food was beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed. Your team’s attention to detail, from greeting our guests to circulating with drinks and bites throughout the night, made everything feel seamless and warm. We’re grateful for your partnership and hospitality, and we hope to return for another gathering in the near future. Please extend our thanks to everyone who worked with us that evening.
Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is fantastic—cozy yet lively, perfect for a night out. The food was delicious; we had pasta and mussels, and both were amazing. The appetizers were also a standout—so flavorful and well-prepared. Definitely pair your meal with wine. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly—don’t hesitate to ask for a wine recommendation. Highly recommend!
I recently had the pleasure of having brunch with friends at The Purple Tongue, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious, with perfect seasoning and fresh ingredients that really stood out. The pastries were a delightful treat, each bite better than the last. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and cozy, creating an intimate atmosphere perfect for gatherings. Though it's not large, the size adds to its charm. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delightful brunch spot!
Everything was exceptional: food, service, and setting. Undoubtedly one of the best brunches I have had in the the city. The setting is warm, refined, and welcoming, with beautiful art pieces on display and enjoyable background music that ensures conversations are private without adding noise. The waitress was attentive, humorous, but never overbearing. The owner/ barista takes pride in his craft and will take time to explain kindly and passionately the different coffee offerings (which were remarkably flavorful and balanced). The frittata was fresh, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. The avocado toast was delicious, with perfectly toasted bread covered with a generous amount of tasteful avocado mash. Those were topped with perfectly poached eggs that tasted farm-fresh, without any aftertaste. The pain au chocolat was a perfectly layered, airy and buttery scrumtiousness. This was such a delightful find. Will certainly be back to try the dinner menu. Update: Been back multiple times, never disappoints or wavers below exceptional in every single aspect. The attention to detail is in everything, down to the coffee which is much better than all the excellent coffee shops in the area. Eating here is an experience you owe yourselves. Regularly.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of the evening. One of the things that stood out to me immediately was the extensive wine list. As a wine enthusiast, I was thrilled to see such a diverse and carefully curated selection. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me select the perfect bottle to pair with my meal. In addition to the impressive wine selection, the restaurant also boasts a rotating art gallery every month. It was such a delight to be surrounded by beautiful artwork as I enjoyed my meal. Speaking of the meal, it was absolutely delicious. Each dish was perfectly balanced and expertly prepared. The Burrata with roasted red beets, pistachio, and fresh herbs was a standout, as was the Mediterranean Grilled Octopus with roasted eggplant puree and black olive crumbs. The Short Ribs, which were slow roasted grass-fed beef with celery root puree, were tender and flavorful. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the presentation of each dish. The Cappellacci filled with ricotta & spinach and sautéed in butter & sage was not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. To top it all off, the coffee selection and desserts were equally impressive. The matcha tiramisu was out of this world and the perfect end to a truly memorable meal. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The combination of exceptional food, extensive wine selection, rotating art gallery, and impeccable service make for a truly wonderful dining experience.
We visited an old friend's new restaurant /wine bar last night, the food was amazing. I don't exactly remember the name of the food we ordered, just look at the pictures. Absolutely stunning and Tatsey. All interior decorations are very elegant and charming. The environment is unique and comfortable. I swear I'm not writing this because we're friends. Trust me go try it out and you will love it.
We had an outstanding world class experience from the moment we walked into this beautifully designed space with a warm and majestic welcome by the brilliant owner Peter and his delightful wife Marni. The service was all about pleasing the customer as Chloe graciously set up a tasting of various wines in search of the perfect one for me! And the food was precise and perfect! Well balanced from the elegant presentation, to the exact temperature, tantalizing texture and simply delicious as the short ribs melted in my mouth! WOW! This is Michelin Grade quality! BRAVO!!!!and Thank You for this unequivocally Amazing dining experience!!!!!💝
Lovely brand new wine bar opened in Hell's Kitchen! Great wine and food, beautiful and cozy neighborhood spot, got to know the owner Peter who is so nice and very passionate about his restaurant! It's his new home, say hello when you go! Great people attract great people - all staff and guests are so nice I spent chatting with everyone at the bar :) Fish Crudo was so fresh and bright, highly recommend with a nice glass of dry Riesling! Looking forward to try more!
