First time going to this one and they are certainly practicing social distancing. I had a spinach patty and it tasted delicious. I contacted Golden Krust to offer to take more pics and videos, they declined. But three days later they took my idea and posted a spinach patty video on IG. The best Caribbean resturant in the area. A wide variety of dishes. Large portions. Great for take out, no atmosphere for eat in dinning but okay for lunch.

Not a fan of this chain restaurants & usually avoid going there because of the staff's behaviors but I must say the staff at this Gun Hill site were courteous, pleasant & definitely had hospitality training. The place is clean, the food looks fresh, taste good and the line flowed.

I frequently go to this location to get food in the mornings and I always get great service. Even in the easier mornings. I usually get my orders from Kay and Alein (I hope I got their names right) and they are always super nice and helpful.

Service was nice, the food however was a let down. I ordered a small fry chicken with, spinach rice, it was very bland even with the oxtail gravy. The fry dumplings were hard and oily as well.

Food is always fresh and delicious and the service is always fast. I come here before work to pick up patties for lunch. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

Omg this is the second time I came here and it will not be the last!! Courteous and Friendly. Food is awesome hot and fresh. So the first time I came here ordered a vegetable patty hot and fresh as well as coco bread. Today ordered oxtails peas and rice no plantains Lavern was nice enough to give me extra cabbage and she was a sweetheart asked for a side of Mac and cheese!! The counter lady forgot her name she was nice noticed I called to order on the phone she was nice enough to tell me they got duped when people order and don’t come and get the food. Another vegetable patty and coco bread. Sat in my car Mac and cheese was hot and fresh as well as the vegetable patty and coco bread. Good Food!

Yesterday September 11, I went to this location. The place was spotless. It was such a pleasure to see that, I wanted to enjoy my meal there. The workers, especially Miss Kay and Miss Laverne made me want to come back as often as possible. Keep up the great work ladies.

Always consistently delicious from store to store. Great Jerk and curry met with loads of cabbage and mountains of rice and beans. Not the place for a light salad.

For a nice home cooked Caribbean cousine at a very affordable price its the place to go. Jamaican patties are decent too, crust a bit thicker than the ones in Jamaica but still has a nice flake to it.

The ABSOLUTE CLEANEST avoided Crust Resturaunt I've been to. Their food look EDIBLE. My model ate there today..not I because I got food poisoning 2x from 2 different golden crust locations (its in my reviews..just check..not trying this franchise cooked food any longer. Bun? Yes. Tin cheese? Yes. But anything cooked by G.C. my belly can't take. But back to this location...there is an elder lady there who is welcoming and inviting. Avoid the young gyal....she think she too cute and make some of the craziest faces at customers when they not looking as I saw her do to a few while there. The place clean clean as if them sweep,mop, and wipe every thing down between customers. The food is visable and up front and look fresh every time I visited this location. I visited 4x but this is my 1st review. The other locations the food in the back an you haffi PRAY it not old and hope it's good . No cold food here. You actually SEE the steam rising from the food on display for you to choose from. Back to the elder woman, when my model ordered, she prepared my models order and the utensil she used for the meat, she CLEANED IT right after the order was done. I purchased the Jerk Chicken with spinach rice, with cabbage and plantain as sides. I also purchased Jerked Wings along with Ackee and Saltfish breakfast. This Golden Krust is the originator (primier restaurant) , and I hadn't been here for a while. As of July 22, 2024, it has a modern chic look, resembling an Apple store like appearance. At the time of my visit, the restaurant was not busy, and the service was good. The food was good, as usual, and I recommend a visit.

Food and service were good. I ordered the large stew peas and curry chicken. Both meals were tasty. However, the portion sizes are smaller when compared to several other caribbean restaurants.

Food is typically good. Unfortunately, the lines, when they get long can be annoying because there is no clear flow when you enter, there are no signs and you are left up to your own to figure out if you should join the line or ask where to start. When it gets busy, the servers and cashiers are typically overwhelmed and pat no attention to the line flow. The restaurant itself is very clean and the food is very organized but the service itself needs to be rethought.

I love Golden Krust this restaurant has been apart of my life since , I was a child. When I went to school in Jamaica. The school there all had their own personal cooks. But you had to pay for this cooked school meals. It was very delicious. It was more exciting to leave school during lunch with your friends. If you lived close to the school you go home for meals or you could buy affordable street or Golden Krust food or go to different affordable restaurant. Getting to leave school during lunch with your friends was extremely fun. That the time I was in elementary school. My after school snack when I was a high school student was spicy beef patty. At this Golden Krust when I went to Harry S Truman H.S. During my school days when school over we would buy our favorite after school foods and enjoy them with our friends. That was fun and amazing times. And now we continue this lunchtime or dinnertime tradition with the people we work and also with our families. Food is amazing when you have someone to enjoy it with. Try new foods and activities with the people you love or just love to hate. It's amazing when you find restaurants that can cook amazing foods from your own country or someone else's culture . If you like Jamaica cooking or you are just interested in the culture. Golden Krust is a very good restaurant to try just to see if the food is something you will enjoy eating ..... When it comes to traditional Jamaica cooking I believe that there are many Jamaica restaurant that are versatile and every ingredients is fresh and cooked only in the restaurants not shiped in. Traditional Jamaica cooking is what I love food that is made fresh everyday.

Didn't like the food at all. I ordered patties and bbq chicken with veg. rice. Patties had too much bread, which overpowered the thin layer of meat. The bbq chicken, which, in my opinion, was fried chicken with bbq sauce on it. I wasn't impressed at all.

Food very good but too much harassment from persons living on street. Few times I bought them food but no money cause use Debit Card. Many times I look to see if they're out front and keep driving if I see them. 5 Stars if no harassment involved. I know it's not business fault and homeless situation is unfortunate.

I was unhappy with Hominy porridge, far too sweet, too much of essence of something, no taste of nutmeg nor cinnamon. Also, we ordered steam vegetables, none came in either of the meals.

This restaurant is awesome but I experience the same problem every time I go in there. The workers are handling food without gloves. They wear hair nets but no gloves???? PLEASE STOP HANDLING FOOD WITHOUT GLOVES!!!

To give an honest review of this place I have to point out a acouple of things. Firstly I can't give a review of service and atmosphere as I had a relatively quick interaction with the staff. I'm netural on this aspect because they were neither good or bad. Secondly the food was ok, but in my opinion not worth the price. Understandably it is their most expensive dish (oxtail) but I have had this same exact dish from other restaurants which were better and at a lower price. 100% will not be ordering this from there again.

The porridge there is bland, the jerk chicken is fatty n nasty (I think they gave me food that was left over), the salt fritters are nasty n the fry dumplings are okay. The employees there are really rude why would they list something that they do not have then get angry and rush me to order something else.

I was very disapointed with the meal. The side order of mac & cheese was hard and crunchy. I almost cracked my tooth. The plaintains were cold and also hard. The oxtail was was over priced for such a small portion.

My food arrives, the uber driver hands me my food and runs off to his car and speeds off. I check the bag... 3 spicy BEEF patties and nothing else. No rice and peas, no cocoa bread and no fried plantain. The most unprofessional nasty experience i ever had, why do uber eats if you can’t execute an order properly. Rude, my refund is already in motion but i had to let yall know, these people LACKADAISICAL !

Wanted salmon. Was told it would be ready in 30 min. In the end, it was 90 minutes later. Had to pick up for co workers. Pieces were smaller than normal. Won't be back to that location. White Plains and Gun Hill is my location from now on.

It was noon on a Saturday and nothing was ready. The staff made it seem like it was the paying customers problem. Nasty attitudes. Ended up going to another Caribbean restaurant down the street with better food and better service.

I had the worst customer service experience here. I order and paid for cocktail patties 2 days in advance for a potluck lunch when I arrived to pick up my order it was not ready. They did not offer to accommodate me for my inconvenience. They just said I would have to wait for the cocktail patties to be made.

The experience started out bad this morning around 9:30. The woman working was rude from the moment I walked in. I ordered ackee & salt fish to go. I got home to eat it and took my first bite...wondering why it was so chewy. I spit it out to find paper towel mixed in. I called back the restaurant to let them know to check that batch of food because of what happened. Without even apologizing, she told me “well just come in for an exchange” and hung up on me. Food quality & customer service should be a concern for all employees, not matter who’s shift it is and she did not have concern for either. Seemed like I was bothering her by reporting something so it doesn’t happen to the next customer.

Disappointed!!!!!!! today i was coming from the airport with visitors who wanted Jamaican food. I called in to make an order, Jacquline answered the phone and somehow it seems like i was disturbing her, she asked me what i wanted, i told her oxtail, she said that was finished. I further asked her what's on the menu, she seemed annoyed and passed the phone to another employee, i told her i would like to make a order for pickup, she told me they don't take orders over the phone, they do uber eats delivery and then she hung up. I was so embarrassed trying to make an order with my visitors in my car. I went to the establishment and ordered the food, the gentleman that served me was exceptional polite and courteous. My question, does this establishment take food orders over the phone ? Food is good but this type of customer service will detract me from stopping here again.

The food is amazing, however they keep raising the price on the oxtails. Before its was $21 for a large now its $25 and they only give you 7 pieces of oxtails & its always 1 that has no meat on it just bone. when u tell them give u more they catch an attitude. I never get what i paid for here. So i stopped going. If your goin to charge $25 for large meal of oxtails give more. Because rice is cheap.

I didn't appreciate how the workers talk to customers. Particularly, the lady taking orders. She needs to get better at her customer service skills. Customer service like that will run away customers. Bad for business. I was not greeted in a nice manner and it felt like the worker was yelling at me instead of asking me. It's like the place didn't want customers. I saw one guy walk out cursing the workers because of the way they talked to him. Employees need to brush up on their customer service skills and at least learn to say "hi" or "hello," I'd even be okay with "wah gwan" before screaming "PATTY OR MEAL, MISS!" Also, the patties need work, barely any meat and they were dry. Tasties in Jamaica is wayyyy better.

I do uder on the side and I went to pick up a customers order. I had been waiting for a bit and they saw that I was on the pick up section but they kept serving customers on the line. when a customer brought up the fact that I had been there for pick up the lady literally said "so what" like what do you mean so wat the whole point of pick up is so I dont have to wait in the line and can get the food and leave quick. She kept rantting on but I couldn't understand much more of what she was saying. Will not be returning.

I went this morning to get stew chicken with vegetables and rice. It turned out that when I got home, the little bit of chicken that the lady gave me was hard, the rest was just pieces of bones. She gave me so little chicken for my almost 11 dollars order. I was so disappointed. This is the second time this happen to me. I stopped going to that place for about a year. I went back today and try again thinking they had change the way they serve costumers , but unfortunately, I got treated the same way. Very little bit of chicken and the rest just bones.

The service was horrible and they gave me a large order with 4 little pieces of stew chicken when the smallest order already comes with three. I complained about it and they decided that they wouldn't serve me or return my money. So i had to call cooperate just to try and fix things before i get upset. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. RAT DROPPINGS IN FOOD. I have been eating at this place for years, since about 2012 when I lived in the area. I've eaten everything from oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken, rice and pees, stew chicken,etc...everything. On 04/04/16, I went into this Golden Crust and asked for two spicy beef patties and two cocoa breads. I needed something quick while i was driving. While I was about to bite into the beef patty/Cocoa bread combo, I noticed black marks on the bread. I stopped my car and realized they were rat droppings. It was literally embedded into the bread. I immediately spit everything out. Almost vomited. I pulled a piece of the bread, took a pic and threw everything out. I was too far away at this point to justify coming back to complain. And frankly, if I did come back, my actions would have resulted in my arrest. Only God can imagine what's in their stews, and soups if rat poop is in their bread.

I bought a large chicken soup, it was too oily, I purposely asked for some dumplings and she only put two little broken pieces, NOT the usual longer dumplings, it was mainly potatoes and carrots for $ 14.25 with tax. The prices are outrageous, and getting higher and higher while the quality is getting lower and lower. The chicken is always dry and then covered in sauce or gravy to hide it being over cooked or dry. I have tried so many of the different chicken options and they have all been dry. The prices are getting ridiculous and I feel like we are being exploited by the owners who happen to be Italian.

Older woman there was rude as usual. She's making someone else's order, a younger lady is making mine. Her guest orders something else at the last minute and she takes my food and gives it to him, no apology, no explanation. We all have places to go but now the girl had to make my order all over again. So unprofessional and not worth it.

I went to this restaurant at 3:35 pm on 9/11/2022 and when me and my boyfriend arrived we went directly to the register because we only wanted to get patties. We were then spoken to rudely with “go order over there” by Laverne C. My boyfriend then stated to her that we only wanted patties which were directly behind her when she decides to state, “so I’m to grab the patties with my hands” knowing she was being extremely rude to us so we decided to tell her that she knows she’s supposed to use tongs to grab and package them. She then yelled “you order with her” while she continued to talk under her breath and out loud instead of just assisting and getting what we were there to purchase and pointing at her other employee which was obviously busy with a customer while Laverne was not with any customer and could have easily put on gloves and got the patties and then removed them to charge us. She continue to get loud and I stated to her that she is being rude to customers and that not professional nor lady like. She then turned to her bush coworker and told her “I’m going outside” and she walked off leaving her employee busy to take care of all the customers with no help. 2 other employees from the back of the store emerged and that is when the female employee that came to help assisted us with what we wanted and cashed us out. This was extremely unprofessional and I don’t understand how someone like her works for a company that provides food to the public! We frequent this location along with many of our family members, family, and coworkers and this is the move distasteful experience we have had and we never thought a situation like this would occur. It has honestly put in our mind to no longer frequent the location and share this experience with all of our family, friends, and coworkers. Whoever the manager is, this has go to do better than this.

Food was disgusting. I have never had a beef patty with cocoa bread from golden crust that taste like that. Ever since the owner passed away the food fell off. What took the cake were the box of beef Pattie’s in the fridge on display for sale, same as they sell in a supermarket 😂😩. I don’t even think this is one of the actual franchises. Instead of stopping her getting lured in by the ambiance and outside exterior and swing on around the corner to mamas on eastchester food is delicious and NOT EXPENSIVE. The worker inside there are so rude i order a to good order i never had a problem with ordering but when i came to check out they was saying the plate i got is 14 dollars which it suppose to be 6 dollars online and they will not give me the order till i pay the the other amounts i already told them i paid online which they didn't care so i had no choice to cancel my order they mess up my hole night and I have to go home hungry.

If you're hungry, DO NOT GO HERE, YOU WILL NOT BE FED SUFFICIENTLY and you'll definitely NOT get your moneys worth!!! As seen in the video, I made 2 small orders and recieved HALF a container of food but charged FULL price... my entire order came up to $23 and change for what you see, which came with fried dumpling with one order, and festival with the other, plus 2 cod fish fritters. If I would've known, I would have NEVER went there for food. And to make matters worst, when I dug into the spinach, it had absolutely NO TASTE!!! Disappointed all the way around!!! Well not ALL the way around, atleast the servers were sweet and pleasant!! 1 out of 10, will absolutely NOT recommend!!

Saturday April 17th 4pm. I’ll start with the food. It was very goods today. I haven’t came here in over a year because the last few. Times it was over salted. The food wasn’t consistent. But today was good. Now for the customer service. Which earns a zero star. A gentleman and young lady served my mother and I. The guy wasn’t very friendly either but Whoever the young lady was… working that shift today around that time… Her attitude was absolutely DISGUSTING towards my mother. She needs an immediate training in customer service. You do not treat people with attitude if you don’t like your job. Find a new one. Unacceptable. You never know who you are serving. She needs to be let go. It took everything in me not to walk out.

the festival was cold and hard and full of oil......I did call to recommend they stop serving those stale so call festival it's not right.......I am disappointed,.....

This location gives the franchise a horrible reputation. I ordered a medium fried chicken, cabbage, rice and peas. The fried chicken was not cooked. Pink and raw inside. The rice and peas or the cabbage had hair in it. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing. I will never return!
