Every single time I've been to this diner, it never fails to deliver excellent service. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a roll and it tasted amazing . I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have good food, and a good time.

I visit here often for breakfast to go. Prices aren’t cheap but the quality of the food is great. Good food. I get their sausage egg and cheese sandwich all the time. They use actual hot dog sausages. It’s nice. Give it a try.

It is a very nice diner in the Westchester Square area of The Bronx. The service was courteous, professional, attentive and prompt. The breakfast was good and tasty and it was served with orange and coffee or tea. Prices are ver affordable: under $20 for 2 people.

Very family oriented dinner. Everyone friendly everyone is family. Mama does home cook meals herself. 😋 must try the soups. New punkin soup. ❤️ both clam chowder soups, split, peas, Yankee bean, and chicken noodle. Prices are great because they give you great size portions. The waitress and servers are amazing. My church fam goes every Sunday after service. And other churches as well. A very blessed place to call home and Familia. Oh they also serve Italian Greek Spanish seafood dishes. 😋

This diner is my go-to spot with the family for a good breakfast. The staff is friendly, and their service is always fast and courteous. My sons are 6 & 7, and they call it "Our spot" when I ask them where they would like to go eat.

Great restaurant, my favorite is the Tex Mex salad. Plenty of seating is available. The only thing I don't like is there is a wall that separates the seating and the waitresses can't see when you need something. Other than that it's a great place with excellent service.

I had to ask for a #clean coffee cup for my mom, the one she was served coffee in had a lipstick stain on it but, we've been here four (4) times now & they are normally clean. The food is really good; always #hot which is a plus & the staff & owner are very nice people. Waiter n waitresses always deliver & make good suggestions. We will #definitely return. A slip up can happen to the best!!

I would never give 5 🌟 stars to a place that didn't earn the rating. Everything, soup to nuts including the wait staff are great here. I don't have any complaints to mention. The service here is very attentive and accommodating. Prices here are reasonable. 2 Unisex bathrooms available. Parking may be an issue as there is no parking lot.

Love this Diner! My husband and I often come here for breakfast before going to mass. It’s cozy, spacious, clean, friendly, nicely updated decor, and I love that they always change the seasonal decorations. Never have to wait for seatings like other places on a Sunday morning.

My favorite Dinner in the Westchester Square and in the East Tremont strip area. Great food sincere friendly staff. The food is prepared fresh and really fast. Ironically, we were coming off of a terrible experience with a diner in Parkchester and needed a positive diner experience when we discovered the National Diner. The place is spotless, bright and welcoming. The waitress could not have been nicer and more accommodating. The food was great...for diner fare it was far better than most. We will be visiting again and recommend it highly.

This diner is the best place at the square to eat. Sure my opinion may be bias but for good reasons. The place is spacious and kept clean throughout. The food is served before you can finish your first cup of coffee. The employees are well mannered , polite and conduct themselves professionally. It's a place that welcomes you sincerely. The cost , I give it $$. I personally love the taste of the Italian dishes. Just try it. It may not be the greatest but again in my opinion it comes close.

One of my favorite spots in the Bronx. I spend lots of money here because I enjoy the staff and the food. They also have freshly baked goods that are pretty tantalising. I highly recommend the tuna melt as well as the patty melt!!! But then again any and everything that I've eaten here has been to my complete satisfaction! I have never ever been disappointed with National.

Go there every weekend with my husband usually for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Food is good and good serving size meals. Would definetely recommend friends and family!

Waitress had a little attitude and kinda threw the menu but I ordered coffee with milk and western scrambled eggs it was good with toast and butter, Grits did not like at all.

My family and I as well as a large percentage of the local churches in the are utilize this diner for not only Sunday after church but during the week for meetings, lunches and other meals.The staff is sweet, good, personable and always ready! We haven't been disappointed!! You won't either!

The pancakes are a 10/10 strawberries we’re so fresh. Toast 10/10, my only critique is the home fries were plain tasting. The cheese used on the eggs is most likely processed cheese so I wasn’t a fan of it. Very clean and welcoming place to eat especially with children. Portions are also a good size. Overall experience was good will definitely recommend.

Good food and great service sometimes... they need to change out some of their staff members or train better because I had a waitress mess up just about everything ive ordered and then had to wait nearly a 1/2 an hr more to get the food because the waitress kept forgetting.

Recently they haven’t been busy. I understand why. I would order a hungry man breakfast for my family and I. Today I received poor customer service, and was overcharged. I asked for extra bacon which is $3. Now it’s $4.50 and only receive 2 strips. I really don’t care about that. But when I ask a question, I don’t need attitude. I’ll let my parents enjoy the breakfast. Me. I’m not wasting money there anymore.

Nice place, nice people, food is meh. Nothing was bad but it’s just not good quality food. Neither the cornbeef nor pastrami were anything special, the fries were bland, and the rye bread was so thin the sandwich fell apart in a minute. Good Oreo milkshake tho!

The waitresses try very hard to please the customers, my favorite is luna. She is a Lovely lady, kind spirt and always a genuine smile. Sometimes the food is hit & miss. The tuna sandwich I ordered was very bland & the Cole slaw tasted very acidic ; too much vinegar. My meal was not good today. . :(

The very basic dishes we ordered are typical staples in all diners (eggs benedict and spinach and broccoli omelet). The lack of flavor in the food was outdone only by the very poor service. As friendly as they were, the servers attended cell phones more than tables. The only redeeming quality was the apparent owner or manager who was very kind to us, very gentle with us, and gave us some money back as a manner of apology. On the upbeat, my one and a half year old daughter really loved the buttered rye toast!

We ordered the breakfast wraps. One with bacon, other one with sausage..they were okay but not the great food we read about. The coffee is what saved this review. The lady behind the counter was amazing and helpful. The diner is super busy with orders over the counter. Not busy for dine in orders.

I ordered from this place 2x for food to be delivered to my home, In both instances, items were missing. I recently called when this happened to express my concerns and frustration about my order missing an entire platter and was told to "relax" by the person who answered the phone. Even though the food is pretty good, the customer service needs A LOT of improvement, starting with increasing compassion and empathy towards your customers when an issue is brought to their attention.

We went for breakfast, I never thought it could be this bad. Horrible coffee, sugar jars are dirty and waiter’s are taking among themselves.

Food was terrible. It seemed like it was old supermarket bought food served in a platter. The calamari tasted old and reeked of a really bad order, the veggies came straight out of a mix vegetable bag found in any local supermarket.

We seated in there for 45 minutes and the waitress forgot or I don’t know why she didn’t serve us food we order. When I ask her 30 minutes after we seated when is our food coming she told me wait is coming. We waited another 15 minutes there was no foot for me table. Tables around me came 20 to 30 minutes after me and there food was coming to them. If they don’t know you as a regular customer you they will not serve you. And I had to kids with me. If she forgot about us it’s ok we all forgot sometime but don’t tell wait is coming. This was my first and last time there. I wish I can give the -0

Went in excited to get breakfast as Diners are very scarce here. Sat down after asking, then someone came and got me coffee then extended me a few more mins to decide but then I just sat there while other patrons came ordered was packed up and out yet I'm still sitting there, so I just got up went to the counter to pay for the coffee then was asked the girl didn't come over there..... Ah No, Not at All. Thanks for ruining my Dinner Breakfast this morning and on that not You have a good start to your day on an Empty Stomach!!!!!!

The place looked dingy, upholstery on chairs worn out; utensils were dirty with smudges on them; missong cieling tiles with others woth water stains; the table beside our table had dirty dishes sitting there and it took them a while to picked them up; the food meh; this place needs remodeling or go under new management will not be coming back to this dinner anymore.....

Ordered food and found hair, not a single strand of hair, but at least 3, after I found the third one I threw the food away. I've gotten food from here before and it wasn't too bad. I can excuse the overcooked eggs, sad portions, and simple mistakes like adding cheese even though I asked for no cheese. I can not eat from here anymore, hair in the food shows lack of respect they have for their food and customers.

The first time we ordered, instead of 2 apples juices we received orange juices. This is the second time we order from here. They forgot a whole order. The pancakes were burnt and the strawberry preserves had a tangy old taste. Also there were more preserves than pancakes. These were the worst pancakes I have ever tasted. I took one bite, spit it out, and trashed it. Also the other order had Home fries instead of french fries. I called to complain about the order. The owner agreed to give me my money back but he must have forgot to hang the phone up because I heard him say, "Why order from us then?". So that means expect to get horrible food and service from them. That's their standard. I can not speak for sit in service but delivery, this was my experience.

Went in for lunch with my sister...when it was time to pay I gave the counter person my receipt and debit card to be charged for the meal. My card was charged but there machine kept saying declined, I payed cash after that. My bank was charged even though the machine said otherwise, I was swiped x4. I called to get refunded the cash spent, after explaining the situation and they were rude and refused to give me my refund, told me to call bank to get a payment stopped that was already taken. Told me while on the phone with her that she was not gonna give me a refund because she is not the boss. She was rude and I believe language compromised. Very unprofessional, I was also told to come after 7pm when I don't even live around here to get refunded if the boss comes back to the diner if not I was told to come back in the morning. That's not how you run a business. I will never go there again. On top of all that I was never given a receipt for the cash I spent to pay for the food.

I had the worst experience ever two families that came after us had eaten and was getting ready to leave before we even got our food we got in at 12:15pm at 1:30 we still had not gotten our food I had to ask for a menu, cutlery and for my sons milk after the server brought the table their drinks and My Son still did not have anything Ten minutes later. After waiting all that time and seeing the 2nd family about to leave we asked to cancel the order and just pay for our juice and conveniently she says your food is coming right now I was just bring it out . At this point we still wanted to leave and the guy Not sure if he was the boss looked at us and just shook his head as if we did something wrong. I would never go here again the service sucked
