Every time I'm in Mt Vernon, I head south to 241st for the best pizza in the 5 boroughs!

Life-long new yorker, and Italian: this is the best pizza I've had outside of manhattan. huge slices, chewy crust, slices are hot and the sauce is perfect. The guys in there are truly sweet as well. Peppino's is how I plan on getting my family through every Friday dinner during lent.

I tried this place before but their new product really delicious and it has Mediterranean touch on it, price was very good for that quality, the staff are somewhat friendly but there is sure language barrier, but they get the job done, this is very old place almost 40 years,and they keep the good work up, I highly recommend this place for affordable and quality pizza, I will repeat this place , good work guys keep it up

So I LOVEEEEE there veggie pizza 🍕 but the crust is too thick if they make it thin it's a great pie. And there mozzarella sticks need to be cook a little more the breath feels and taste a little raw but it taste great 🍕🥰💯💎👍❤️ thanks

Large, delicious slices. Calzones are always made to order from scratch. Love this place. Make it a habit to stop here if I ever am taking the 2 or 5 train for my commute home. Staff don't take b.s. from rude costumers, so don't be shocked if you're a jerk to them, they'll fire right back.

Their food in general is absolutely DELICIOUS! From the pizzas all the way down to the pastas and chicken. The BEAUTIFUL latina in the front taking orders is so nice and welcoming. I will go back every chance I get! Highly recommended.

Hands down some of the best pizza in the Bronx, in my opinion if this place was in the Arthur ave/ little Italy section of the Bronx they would give all the pizzerias out there a run for their money and even outshine some of them. If you're in the area and are looking for some top notch pizza, look no further. I haven't tried many of their other menu items simply because the pizza is so damn good that I'm usually not even curious about the other stuff, and honestly when it comes down to it, pizza is the core menu item of a pizzeria and with how good theirs is I'd only assume everything else there is of the same quality.

I absolutely loved it. I had two plain cheese slices. It isn't terribly expensive. It's only 2.50 for plain and 1.00 extra per topping. The slices are HUUUUGGGEEEE. TWO SLICES FILLED ME UP. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Very clean place. Peppinos came highly recommended by someone I met off LetGo. And if I only had two cheese slices, and they were amazing, can you IMAGINE how their other food is? I can... But unfortunately I live in the south Bronx. We don't have good pizza like that over by me. But I do know if I want quality pizza and I have about an hour to spare, I know where I'm going !!!!!

I ordered a full tray of chicken parmigiana. It comes with a comparable portion of pasta. The pasta was absent from the order. I called Mohammed and he was so apologetic he offered to send the pasta to my location. When the delivery arrived, the pasta was still absent. The delivery person only delivered a two-liter Coke, and numerous tin plates with lids but no pasta. We enjoyed the food, we would have loved to enjoy the pasta too. I'm sure we would have enjoyed it, if it were presented.

It doesn't matter whether you stop in to the store or order for delivery, The Pizza is top notch and the service matches! I ordered half Buffalo Chicken and Half Spinach, and when I tell you, I nearly ate half the pie in one sitting. It was flavorful, and the slices were HUGE. LOVE THIS PLACE!!

I will admit, it's been about a year since I've been here since I've moved to another area, so this review is based off of the countless times I've visited up until 2022. I don't care what the reviews say, this was my SPOT. Not only was the pricing very decent (Again, this was pre-pandemic so I was paying about $2.50 a slice), but the quality and size was INCREDIBLE. This spot was definitely one of the most popular spots, right off of the 2 train. I can honestly say it was ONE time I ate pizza here where it didn't taste fresh and was greasy, but every other time the quality and pizza was A1. This was definitely my favorite pizzeria when I lived in the area and I visited it a lot. I definitely have to come back so that I can update this review! Hopefully it's still up to par as it once was (Though current reviews seem to state otherwise). I know a lot of places fell off post-pandemic, so I'll definitely give it another spin next time I'm passing by the area.

This is truly the pizza of all time. I loved the pizza. It had toppings. One of my only problems is that some of the topping were abnormally large, like nearly as big as the pizza. Not to mention it's in the middle of nowhere, however i'd say if you're looking for good pizza go here instead of the pizza tower, the pizza here tastes WAY better.

I been in this place few times in recent week, they have new items such as chicken garlic tomato slice pizza it was very different and delicious, the service fast and the pizza was hot and yummy,now when I say service this is delivery and pick up restaurant, they have few table but don't expect full service dining here , the food and drinks are very great , I never had a problem with staff then I really don't care about service much , I highly reccomend this place for quick bite

I love this place! It's by far one of the best pizza places! There's a Little Caesar's that opened up like a year or 2 ago nearby, and while I can get a pie for $6 there, I always go to Peppinos because they have huge slices and a great variety. I never had any issues with the pizza nor with the staff. They are always kind and it's my pizza place of choice. Haha, I actually am about to go there today! I only do ever get the pizza, but they have so much to offer! My boyfriend got pasta, salad and bread etc and it was so good! When I got home, I had to take a ruler out for one of my Non-NYC friends so they'd see how large these slices were, lol.

I ordered via uber eats and the pizza order was wrong and the extra specialty slice wasn't the freshest HOWEVER they were very apologetic and sent a new order! The order was correct and the pizza fresh.

This is an okay slice of pizza... Crust soft and floppy with no particular taste. Collapses even when folded. Sauce thin, with taste of garlic and oregano but not tomato. Cheese melted, but not browned. Overpriced at $3.. Nothing terribly wrong with it, but nothing to look forward to either.

Im changing my review for "Service". Although their pizza is GREAT please double check your receipt! I witness one of the employees trying to Steal my money Right in Front of my eyes. He told me $7 and I watched him with my physical eyes charge $8. When I said "Hey, wth you said $7", he said "Sorry" and changed it back, he does have a conscious AFTER he was caught, because he gave me a free Soda.

Pizza is ok. It's not the same as it used to be when it was owned/operated by Joe and John. I've been eating Peppino's since the 80s; those 2 always treated me as family since I was a 3rd grader. They still have a decent variety of pizza, many beverages and options. But like I said, the pizza is not the same as was during the hey days under John and Joe. No disrespect. Just being honest.

It depends whose making the pizza if the Spanish guys are making the pizza it's good when the owner tries its horrible with no cheese. They raise the price of everything but there portions go down with every increase.

After 10-15 minutes after eating the pizza my son and i were throwing up violently! Omg! Someone clearly didnt wash their hands!! Eat at your own risk!

The prices are incredibly high at this restaurant located in an underserved, spread out area. They never have garlic knots when you want them, which is one of the most affordable items on the menu. 241st is a major transit hub and it's a challenge to walk from the area with a lot of patty spots. This means that sometimes people can find hardly anything to eat besides Crown Fried Chicken. This area sucks.

Dude with the huge belly scrapped the nastiest slice up quickly (probably so I couldn’t ask for another) it’s a shame to spend your hard earned and be given stuff that looks like scraps.

I lived in the neighborhood since 88 and once it turned over to a new owner couple years ago it hasn't tasted the same they've been using cheapier ingredients since. No one notices because they made the slices bigger and that's all they care about. Nothing tastes good.

I ordered 4 slices from them yesterday & they took an hour & a half to come. When the pizza came, it was very hard, dry, burnt & cold. We called & complained & the lady told us she's not sending anything out because they were closing. So we spent 15 dollars & didn't eat one bite of it. Now today we called them back so they can send us new pizzas. It took them four hours this time to come & the pizza got here & its the same thing. COLD, HARD & DRY!!

I had an awful experience with the person who takes takeout orders. I was refused service, a few weeks before I called to find out what type of sandwiches they had. He was very abrupt and I responded accordingly. As a result he refused me delivery service when I called this time. This ist terrible customer service and I hope it changes. Just lost a customer.

I just got a eggplant parmesan hero from here. They leave the skin on the eggplant and don't bread the eggplant. The worst eggplant parmesan I have ever had in my life.

04/25/21 7pm Called to place a small pie, because this place is two blocks away from me, after 18 mins I call to check on the status, and they give me another 45 min wait, so I ask to cancel it instead. They tell me that they don’t like wasting food which I agree, but my kids were hungry and I didn’t want them to wait longer. The girl on the phone was extremely rude, spoke over me the whole time and ended up telling me we can no longer make delivery calls only because we canceled the order. Not to mention she hung up immediately after. This is the type of customer service no one should receive.

So I’ve ordered from Peppino’s since I was a child. Long time supporter here. Today, I placed an order via delivery and received the wrong pizza. The box had my name on it so they clearly made a mistake. I called the place, explained who I was, and the owner proceeded to inform me that I should request a refund and order the pizza again. I said okay, no problem. Next, I simply asked the owner if he wouldn’t mind sending out the pizza a little sooner being that I waited 1hr & 30 minutes for the INCORRECT pizza. The owner proceeded to say “sorry, but you will have to wait another hour for the correct pizza. We’re busy.” For 10+ years of commitment to this pizza place and the fact that THEY made the mistake in delivering the wrong pizza, this is not a response that should be given by a owner. It’s saddening to me that I called seeking assistance with their mishap & the response I received ended with “we’re busy” because you can’t be busy without customers to bring in business. I doubt they’d care, but I’m done ordering from Peppino's.

This restaurant has lost the passion for making pizza and pastas big time!!! They added a couple of new items to the menu, nothing to brag about. Pizzas are bland, pastas dull with no flavour, and desserts are not appealing. The staff behind the counter are rude, impatient, and lack basic customer service skills. I live in the area and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I order outside my community whenever I want a pie and that's a shame.

I've known this restaurant since the original owners were working and running this business but, unfortunately the people working there now are unprofessional and, the food is no longer tasty. A simple order for a Sicilian Slice was ignored and, never produced after two requests. Then on another occasion a Calzone was made without all the ingredients listed. I know people who remember this establishment fondly but, now I will have to tell them don't bother. This is definitely not the quality restaurant that I and others (including Denzel Washington) remember. Between the vagrants that now frequent this establishment and the inadequate food/service anyone thinking about buying food here should run the other way! Sad that their reputation has now gone down so far in the dumpster!

I placed a pickup order online and when I got there it was not ready. They were not even working on it. I stood there for 10 minutes before they decided to make my order. I order a spinach slice with broccoli, sausage, and extra cheese with a gingerale. They gave me a can soda i thought i was getting the bottleI asked for a receipt and I was told that since I ordered online I would have to get it that way online and that the prices are more online. As long as I have been coming here I have never experienced such rudeness. It doesn't matter how good the food is if the service is lousy whywhy should I spend my money there.

OK I remember this place from years ago... Not even close to that old feeling. No welcome as you enter. People aren't friendly. They tried to give me. A used box at first. For four slices at $20 I expect at least a new box. Then they have all the seasonings in the back where you have to wait for them to bring them to you. Now Down to the taste. AWFUL!!!!!!!!!! The 99 cents pizza taste better. Crust was soggy and oily. Cheese was scarce. Pepperoni is beyond second rate. Sausage taste like the flavor was washed off. Sorry you can't give this place lower than one star because they didn't deserve that. Better to walk up the street and get the chicken spot bland pizza.

Yesterday I purchased Pizza from this place. In the middle of the regular slice, I bit into a rusty screw-like metal that was about 2 inches long. When I brought it to the attention of staff. I was offered $3. This screw could've ended my life, and Peppino's didn't care!

We ordered wings and a peppinos special pizza which was supposed to have pepperoni, sausage,meatballs, mushrooms,onions,peppers and black olives. The wings were not edible at all and the pizza that is pictured is what we got. A veggie pizza. The dough was way undercooked and the veggies were almost raw. I called to explain that they sent the wrong pizza and the response the door dash guy got was "It's not the wrong pizza, we definitely made the right one" I sent them a picture to show it was the wrong pizza. The whole experience was awful, from the delivery person to the actual restaurants response. The only person who tried to make it right was the door dash customer service person. * Edit per the restaurants response. I am appalled that you would speak to customers this way and in seeing other negative reviews you were very apologetic, and sincere in your respnse, yet not towards my issue... I have the receipt that shows I ordered a peppinos special, not a veggie pizza so to suggest that I ordered the wrong pizza is incorrect. Also, you will not have to worry about me "taking my business elsewhere" as there are other quality places with friendly, respectful, staff that have good food as well. I was disappointed by the interaction because I was very excited to try your food, but after that experience I was surprised and upset. I hope that you can hire employees or managers that have better, more polite customer service responses, instead of going on the defensive and attacking the customer after a poor review. Maybe I just got a bad night of food and the servers at the restaurant were having a bad night I don't know, but I hope the customer service improves and that the food is better then what I experienced Have a wonderful weekend.
