Beautiful bright space for a coffee, healthy plates, and pastry. The chai is too sweet, but overall the food is delicious, and great presentation. One of the few places with a lot of seating in the neighborhood.

No idea how i managed to find this exact cafe on google maps but i went here in 2019 and had a rose flavoured macaroon and oml it was the best thing I’ve ever eaten !! Genuinely think that macaroon might be my Roman Empire, i think about it daily ! I’m visiting New York again in a week and i will be coming back to this cafe !!!!

Love Black Star!! It’s a cute little cafe. Been going there for a while now, I’ve had the BEST donut there… Bagel and cream cheese is also great and not forgetting their lemonade! Tons to choose from their menu. Only thing is there’s no WiFi, very disappointing!

Now, this review is from my toogoodtogo app experience using and eating from DIG as well. Now I have been trying to figure out what is the best deal when using the APP. This is located in Williamsburg and the staff was so nice, The surprise bag was delicious and always a treat. This is my third time using the APP to eat from Black Star. The staff is friendly and the pick up was fast and quick.

This cafe is highly recomended. This cafe is where you go when you want to enjoy something good, from pastries to coffee. And if you're looking for a fire food menu, black star bakery has it, I recomend getting their burrito and the croissant sandwiches. Also one thing that gives them the complete package is there staff, complete customer service and a smile that will brighten your day.

I love black Star. I always go to the UES location. This was my first time in their Brooklyn location and it is as good. Food is great. healthy, and fresh. My favorites are the avocado toast and chai but you cannot go wrong with anything you order. The pastries are to die for. The staff is warm polite and welcoming and the place itself is beautiful and clean. A perfect coffee shop.

Best strawberry donut I’ve had in a whule. The strawberry exterior reminds me of the icing on the strawberry pocky. Not too sweet. Great bite and strawberry flavor.

I ordered the smoked salmon croissant, expecting the same quality and size as my previous visit. However, the croissant I received today was significantly smaller, as shown in the attached photos. The first photo shows the croissant next to my hand for size comparison, and it is noticeably smaller than the croissant I received on my last visit (second photo). This inconsistency in size is unacceptable, especially given the price I paid.

I’m glad I went for a walk this morning and found this new coffee shop. Not just coffee but a fresh delicious breakfast, many beautiful pastries, a coffee that came exactly how I ordered it and lovely decor. Service was refreshingly friendly and there were even plugs (but no WiFi) for my laptop. 11/10, absolutely recommend.

The service at the counter from the young girl with the light hair did not match the vibe of the others, and she was bland when handing me my order. Some of the most expensive coffee in the neighborhood. I don’t like when places default to charging you for a large if you don’t specify size—feels like they are trying to rip you off.

This is a cute place. Food is good, not amazing. I think it would be great if they could add Wifi for guests! That would really make this place amazing.

Food is good, but I wish they had wifi… Woops bakery had been at this location before and was my favorite place to work. I guess they don’t want people to sit there all day? But people do anyway and it’s never crowded. It’s not a restaurant, so idk why they won’t give wifi. If you want a cute place to work go to Devocion or Pink Frog. To add insult to injury the coffee is also bitter, does not compare to Swallow Cafe down the street.

I live just around the corner and barely go to this place. Every time I go there I regret why I get a pastry from here. I was too lazy to walk one more block for better cafe today and immediate regret after one bite. croissant is always a doughy and chewy inside. I wanted to get something small and sweet, so I got a mini rugelah and mini croissant I couldn't finish it.. the butter and chocolate they use is pretty cheap and no flavor. Go Le bicicle or lion's milk.

This used to be my favorite cafe. I’m not sure if ownership changed when they opened the new location on Driggs, but the woman that works here (I assume she’s a manager of sorts) mainly making coffee, is aggressive, rude, horrible to her staff and very clearly doesn’t handle high stress or pressure well. I’m sitting here now and she’s yelling at the poor girls serving to take peoples names and getting all flustered. Just not necessary, makes for a bad experience when your customers can hear you screaming out the names of orders angrily. Ew. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed this behavior, just the worst so I felt inclined to leave this review :)

This place was promising, with great atmosphere. The Coffee was good, but the avocado toast wasn't. The avocado was too hard to eat and you CANNOT eat toast with wooden knife! I kindly asked for a real knife, but nothing was presented. I complained and had to throw out 2/3rds of the food . So disappointing. Over priced.

This may be a nice place but we couldn’t experience it: we had to leave to find a restroom elsewhere, because the one here is only available to employees and not to customers. That’s unfortunate, since even after paying good money, one can’t linger if nature calls. Staff was not willing to make exceptions. Bakery items we tried were average.

WARNING Ordered Breakfast sandwich with egg cheese Prosciutto. It was good BUT then had to Run back to hotel to get sick. Maybe the prosciutto was bad.

If you have food allergies, DO NOT COME HERE. My sister and I stopped in for coffee and a bite to eat. She has a severe nut allergy, so we asked the chef directly if the pesto on the turkey sandwich contained any nuts. He assured us it did not. Moments after taking a bite, my sister began having an allergic reaction. When we asked to see the ingredient label, it clearly listed cashews. Not only was this a dangerous mistake—it was handled with zero urgency or apology from the staff. Completely unacceptable and potentially life-threatening.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES! I bought a turkey pesto sandwich today and asked if there were any nuts- they said confidently no there are no nuts. I took one bite and had a reaction. I asked to see the label of the pesto and it contains cashews. As I am having an allergic reaction, no one on the staff offered to refund or apologize. Instead, the man who told me there was no nuts in the pesto tried to explain that cashew wasn't a nut?? Completely unacceptable behavior.
