Black Star Bakery & Cafe

(Update) Black Star team kindly reached out to me and solved the issue, I will keep supporting Black Star as I always did. I am disappointed with my recent order from Black Star Bakery & Cafe. I ordered the smoked salmon croissant, expecting the same quality and size as my previous visit. However, the croissant I received today was significantly smaller, as shown in the attached photos. The first photo shows the croissant next to my hand for size comparison, and it is noticeably smaller than the croissant I received on my last visit (second photo). This inconsistency in size is unacceptable, especially given the price I paid.

Just off the L line on Bedford Avenue, Black Star Bakery is blessed to have a prime spot, basking in the sun. Wide selection of pastries and good coffee. I was suggested to try the cherry-filled pastry, and it was really, really good. Will come back to try more! 10/10

Cappuccino’s are hit or miss for me. I want foam! This place give you foam! Really great almond milk cappuccino. The place was really cozy and reminded me of a cafe in upstate NY. Love the vibes and I will be back!

Cute little place with a really solid iced latte!! Amazing natural light. Nice and plentiful seating. They have matcha, coffee, sweets and baked goods

This place is a treasure! Our hot lattes were perfectly prepared, and my apple and Brie croissant was delicious. We dined in and the vibe was great and not too loud. The bathroom was tiny but very clean. Service was fast and pleasant. Highly recommend!

What a beautiful shop! Made me go aaaaahhhh as i walked in from the steaming streets of BK. Its nice. Its serene. Its clean. The people who work here are nice, polite and warm. The person making the pastries is busy making beautiful treats yet will turn to smile at customers. Very nice place indeed! And the bathroom is clean and pleasant with plants. You can tell much about a place by the state of the bathroom and this bathroom was well cared for.

Cute cafe with beautifully presented and tasty food. We had avocado toast, apple donut and waffle, and they were all delicious. Staff is super professional and friendly. Exceptionally clean place. Highly recommended.

They have soy milk!! As someone who’s dairy averse and also keeping up with their protein intake, Soy Lattes are my go to. This is one of the few places in the area with soy milk ❣️

Breakfast sandwich was delicious with sriracha mayo!! The chocolate halvah pastry was unique and soft on the inside with a little crisp on the surface. Highly recommend and great vibes here for a lowkey breakfast and coffee.

I really enjoyed the pastries, they make a fantastic almond croissant and great sandwiches and bagels. Everything was fast, the staff is super friendly. The have a bunch of places to sit and eat, and to talk with friends or even work remotely.

It's wonderful they opened another location in Williamsburg. The breakfast menu is extensive and the food is good quality. The egg sandwiches, baked goods, and avocado toasts are all delicious. The setting is lovely with morning light flooding into the space..

Breakfast burrito and smoked salmon was amazing!

I’m glad I went for a walk this morning and found this new coffee shop. Not just coffee but a fresh delicious breakfast, many beautiful pastries, a coffee that came exactly how I ordered it and lovely decor. Service was refreshingly friendly and there were even plugs (but no WiFi) for my laptop. 11/10, absolutely recommend.

🤩🤩🤩 I had their newly released Winter Special Steak and egg Sandwich. It was really good and filling, i cant even finish the whole sandwich. I would say, it’s worth the price. I had it in an multigrain bread but they normally used brioche bun. 10/10 💯

It's a very good spot to grab coffee or a snack. Clean and urban vibe. It's a strong coffee and a good number of seats. Window bar with a hot cup, a bit of Spotify, and watch the people pass by. If you like being around people, in s chill enviro, and like coffee and black stars, then you really have to stop here on your travels.

coffee is fine, I’ve gotten multiple cappuccinos here that have absolutely zero foam. prices aren’t outrageous but definitely not affordable. it’s solidly mid but its conveniently right next to the train station.

BAD EXPERIENCE - I was a paying customer and have come several times but not anymore. They said the bathroom was closed as another person literally came out of it. When I said something, the cashier still refused to let me use the bathroom. If you're not the "right" type of customer - you get treated badly. Honestly there are better cafes that are way friendlier in Williamsburg. Like TONS. Please don't waste your money here.
