Opinions de The Craic Brooklyn
Great selection of beers and whiskey. Can become a watering hole in the weekends but never too crowded.
Fabulous night at the Craic! Cool spot. Electric atmosphere. Great crowd and well looked after by the staff throughout the night! Definitely will be back again! 👍
Great bar in the middle of Williamsburg. Cozy with loungers and couches and very comfortable atmosphere. Excellent friendly service.
All the yuppies in one place, but the drinks are cheap, ambiance is great, staff is nice, the crowd? Bring your own.
Really comfortable environment with a super friendly staff. The bartenders are Irish and pour a great Guinness.
Great spot! Cozy seating, two projectors for matches, awesome happy hour deals
Phenomenal bar and employees
I love the cocktails. The fries are good, the curry cheese is odd taste.
Chill place with a pool table and state of the art karaoke machine that takes cash (and most likely card) and doubles as a photo booth. There's also couches, 1 dart board and a giant screen for watching the local game. Bartenders and friendly and great - although I've only been on weeknights, never a weekend.
While the Guinness, ciders, and whiskey selection are abundant here, I'll confess a weakness for their spicy margarita. Can get a bit crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, so bring your dancing shoes. Weekday afternoons here are perfectly peaceful, if that's more your speed.
Cozy atmosphere. Irish accented staff. Pretty friendly and quick service. Reasonable prices, considering the decor etc. Free WiFi (necessary since I got no service on my phone in this space) and a solid beer/whiskey menu.
I've only had one pint of Guinness in NYC and it was here. They say it's the best in the city, so I am too afraid to order a Guinness anywhere else. I will probably only get them from here from now on then. Good beer.
Amazing Irish bar located in a very cool area of williamsburg. The bartender Cliff was such a dude offering great chat and advice for dinner in the area. We will be returning because our first experience was so great.
Visited The Craic on some friends recommendations. What a fantastic bar. Best cocktails in NYC and the staff are super friendly. If you're all looking for a good night out I recommend you pay a visit to The Craic. Just saying!!
Great atmosphere! Beautifully decorated, modern Irish bar with unreal music. Wonderful place to go if you're missing home and a bit of an Irish accent!
Great atmosphere and style ! Loved the fact it's an Irish bar and there was an Irish barman.
Really great Irish bar with deep leather chairs and a good atmosphere
Best Guinness in Brooklyn. Music choices are mostly good and I appreciate that they cover the TV’s when sport isn’t on. Proper.
Awesome pre-birthday drinks 🍸 live music sometimes on weekends and defanitely a great spot if in Williamsburg with large tables and couch classy seating options.
Very nice atmosphere inside and out. Excellent cocktails - favs are their Mezcal Negroni & Espresso Martini
Probably the nicest interior i've seen in a bar in New York, lovely Guinness, staff and they do a great comedy gig every second Monday. I'd highly recommend this bar to anyone.
Wonderful pints of Guinness, live music to set the vibe and cool décor. Great place to go chill with friends.
Really really good food. Staff are excellent. Highly recommend
Great bar, if they added Harry Potter quizzes would be otherworldly. #sorryMK
The BEST spot in Williamsburg. Vibes are superb, drinks - incredible, and staff.. don’t even get me started! They are all so warm and welcome. The bartenders/bar backs/bouncers are all amazing and make the place feel so homey. The bartender Seamus is one of the best in NYC if not the world. Definitely 11/10 recommend visiting any day of the week
Good craic, the environment is fantastic, but you definitely need 1 more bar tender bcs 2 is not enough, we waited for about 25/30 min to get a pint!! also as a recommendation during Saturday night take away all the chairs from the bar, they are useless and annoying when you about to order at the bar , ppl get stuck there :(
Bottom Line: Best place for a hip, cozy pint in the heart of Williamsburg. Highs: There are a few bars in Manhattan that top it, but you really won't find a better pint of Guinness in Williamsburg than The Craic. The food is what you'd expect in a pub, but it's delivered quickly, calms the hunger, and doesn't cost a fortune. The atmosphere is perhaps the best part about The Craic. It's Irish-owned, Irish-ran by excellent bar tenders, but it doesn't necessarily feel like an old Irish pub. It's candle-lit, filled with eclectic art, and has alternative bands on the weekends as opposed to a trad band. A must visit! Lows: It does get rammed on weekends, and with a little extra staff they could reduce the wait time on drinks.
An underrated gem of a bar here in Williamsburg. If you’re looking for a good date spot, this is perfect. Warmly lit interior with plush seating and a cozy fireplace. The entire place feels very intimate, without feeling pretentious. It’s also fit for meeting with friends or coming for a pint after work. The staff is also very accommodating and quick to take care of you.
First class service and drinks slainte!
Cozy, inviting, and servicing food that tastes like your grandma made it. Go for a great pint of Guinness and their Irish chicken curry pie. So good.
Lovely Irish bar with a classy vibe but also not pretentious. The bartender Seamus is so friendly and knowledgeable! The happy hour prices can’t be beat. Will definitely be back!
Great drinks, cozy atmosphere, excellent staff. It’s beautiful inside and so welcoming and warm. It was the perfect place to spend a dreary evening, and will definitely be a new go-to spot whenever we’re in town!
Very cozy and spacious. They have board games (Guess Who, Jenga, Connect 4) we played Guess Who. There was a lovely fireplace and lots of seating available. We got a strong Irish Coffee, the bartenders were friendly and attentive. Love this place!
Fun hole in the wall English/Irish bar with a speakeasy ambiance. Dim lighting complemented with natural lighting thru windows and cozy & comfortable furniture. Solid selection of house specialty drinks in a space where you can easily head one another as you catch up with a friend over cocktails.
Comfortable space with great live music. Refreshing guac and chips. And I left my card there over the weekend and they held onto it and were very helpful and friendly when I was trying to locate it and pick it up. Thanks guys.
I was looking for the best Guinness in NYC, found the best in America. I heard it was between The Craic and Swift Hibernian Lounge. The Craic was by far the best hands down. Not only was it the best pint, the decor, music and banter with the friendly bar staff, made this bar an absolute stand out. Look forward to coming back.
The Craic is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a great atmosphere. The outdoor area is equally impressive, providing a comfortable and inviting space for guests to relax and enjoy their drinks. I highly recommend trying the Irish lager, which is a standout among the many great options on tap. Overall, The Craic is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a lively and enjoyable pub experience.
I have no notes for these guys. Absolutely amazing bar through and through. My fiance and I had our engagement party in the private event space and it was perfect. Fantastic service and great drinks. I cannot recommend it enough. Shoutout to Michelle for helping organize!!
One of our favorite neighborhood bars in Williamsburg! If you’re looking for a cozy vibe, Guinness, and great company - you’ve found the place. We had our engagement party here and highly recommend hosting your next event at The Craic. It was such a breeze from start to finish. The space is quite large (even has a private bathroom for your guests), has retractable TV screens if needed, and you can play your own music. The food & drinks were exactly what was needed. Service was top notch. Can’t draw it up much better.
Indoor atmosphere was dark and cozy, great for a drink in a more intimate setting. Outdoor seating was also really cute. Not so fun in the summer because of flies and mosquitoes. We got the lavender smash and it was just a tad bit too sweet. Drinks are suuuuper cheap. I’d come back or stop here if I’m in the area definitely.
Whenever I come here for the past 4 years the drinks are flowing, service is exceptional, and guaranteed good time. The staff especially make this spot, you won’t be disappointed. Should’ve wrote a review ages ago but better late than never. See you guys soon!
I celebrated my 30th birthday here at the beginning of December. The team here made it all so easy and worry-free when my other two venues fell through last minute. Michelle was so attentive and sweet to allow me and my friends literally take over the private room. We had such a great time and all my guest were raving about how perfect the night was all thanks to the help and support of The Craic team! Sound quality was great, the drinks were delicious (and flowing!), and the vibes were priceless. Thank you all again for hosting my birthday and if you ever need a place to host an event I would highly recommend using The Craic. Can't wait to come back again!
My fiancé and I held our engagement party and it was an AMAZING place to host! they have a great private spacious room with a bar & wonderful layout to host everyone. The craic manager/ team was so helpful and kind to work with, and the drink package was amazing and the drinks were delicious! they helped us with clean up as well at the end of the event! overall, super happy with the experience and would definitely recommend! Thank you Craic for making the night so special!
What a gem. Out of towners that stop by off of a recommendation. The bartender was such a cool vibe. Welcoming us in on a cool winter night, offering the best Guinness the town has to offer. Very laid back and spacious with just the right lighting to keep the night going. For sure will be back!
I recently hosted a party at the Craic (which is also my local go-to bar). Michelle and the team were accommodating and easy to coordinate with leading up to the event, and the service was excellent day of. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a space to host a party in the Williamsburg area!
We hosted our 60-person engagement party in their private event space and it was wonderful! Very spacious, private bar, and private bathrooms. The drinks were delicious and we were very well taken care of! There is no fee to reserve the space - just a minimum. Would recommend to anyone who is trying to host a large party in Brooklyn!
We did our Elopement Wedding party at the Craic and it was the best idea ever. Abby was a wonderful host and bartender and helped us during the entire night!! They let us bring our own decorations, DJ, food and even a bottle of our Chilean drink pisco to celebrate with our friends! If you ever need to celebrate anything I strongly recommend doing it in The Craic! Will be back soon! Cheers
Awesome bar! Love the energy. Beautiful space. Good vibes 😎 Came in looking for a place that had a good sour or something like that and this place listed as carrying rotating sours, and they carry rotating talea sours. Had a nice soup, service was awesome and stellar happy hour. They also have food happy hours too! Highly recommend
We had our 90 person birthday party there and everyone loved the venue and have been talking about it a ton! It was wonderful to have that entire (super cute) space, own bar and bathroom, and the drinks were delicious. And the entire event process was seamless so I appreciate that.
Went there last night and it's incredible how at home I felt, the bartender was on point, very nice and had everything under control like a boss, I can't explain the vibe you just have to come by and experience it yourself. I have a new fav spot in Williamsburg.
Second time coming to The Craic. I went to see the Euro match between Spain and France with some friends and we had a great time. Expected more people as the previous time I went they hosted the CL final, and the atmosphere then was great with loads of people. Will definitely be going again!
Good place for a Happy Hour drink... Or three. I love that they've lightened up at thr atmosphere and it's not so dark and heavy anymore.
A place with Cool atmosphere and warm crew. Decoration is on point. Food could improve a lot, but then again it is mostly a place for drinks.
Seemed like a fun place to go. Went off hours so it was empty. Nice relaxed vibe. Good flat bread and happy hour specials. I'm going back.
This place went through a complete remodel recently. It went from Irish dive to swanky library spot. They still have the pool table though which is why I usually go there. The dartboard is gone but supposedly is coming back. Only been once since the remodel but it was always a solid spot before, and now I'm guessing is just a solid spot with a face lift.
Decent beer selection. Properly poured Guinness. Low key bar tenders; efficient but not pushy. Comfortable space for a drink with friends.
Quality neighborhood dive bar with cheap beer, friendly bartenders, darts, pools, and TVs. No food but you can bring your own in from a nearby restaurant (or order in) if you so choose. Not much more to be said -- it knows what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else.
Great little pub with great staff. The Aussie behind the bar was a treat. Huge comfy couches to watch the game - and great place to go if you like soccer.
Great Scotch, and I love that they have a pool table. Bartenders are nice too. Great place to meet up with friends in this area.
Prices were typical. Drinks as expected. We obviously weren't regulars because we received no extra kindness or chatter from the bartender. Thus 4/5 stars. Super great atmosphere.
Almost a GREAT bar. The place has a great ambiance, good lighting, varied seating, nice little pool table. Great selection of liquors....and then they fall down with the beer. Although they have at least 15 beers , there is not one that is really flavorfull. It's like they wanted to make sure guinness was the most flavorful beer in the place. I don't mind a guinness, but even the craft selections and imported beers are bland. Please slice up the selection and I will be happy to return and recommend to friends. Happy to help if you reach out.
Randomly walked into this place and enjoyed the atmosphere. Pool table and nice music The service was really good and a specific drink “Good Evenin’ Ethel” was justice!
I enjoy the relaxed underground vibe of this place. Play some darts, shoot some pool hang out with friends. I wish the beer selection was a bit better but all in all a good time. Would go back
You have to go with a good group of people. Drinks are sub par. One of them felt watered down. Comfortable seating though, and if you're with a good crowd you'll be fine.
Popped in here for a drink after dinner. If you're in your 20s and really looking to hang, this is probably a great spot. But if you're not, it's a lot. Super crowded the early Saturday night we were there and a bit difficult to get the attention of the bartender, fine. The drinks themselves are fairly pricey for a neighborhood bar, which was surprising. We caught the tail end of live music, which could have been good had we gotten there earlier. What was confusing was the use of the space, as everyone really crowds towards the bar but there is a good amount of space near the tables. Not sure I necessarily need to go back?
First time coming to this place. Made my way out of Queens to give it a try because a friend recommended it. I was having a great time but there was this bartender (wont get into the specifics) who kind of threw me off guard. Would’ve been a better experience (more stars) if it weren’t for this particular interaction. All good. Hopefully, next time will be a better one.
We booked directly with the venue, but I strongly recommend booking through PeerSpace instead. We were charged the same rate yet received an hour less than what’s listed on PeerSpace. The customer service was disappointing. The bartender was openly rude to several guests, and multiple people commented on her attitude. When the clock hit midnight, she began clearing tables and blowing out candles while people were still seated, extremely unprofessional behavior. The manager appeared unwilling or unable to step in, allowing it to continue. Throughout the night, bar patrons repeatedly entered our private space, and no one from the staff attempted to manage it. For the price, I expected far better communication, professionalism, and respect for a private booking. I understand the venue is new, but these are basic hospitality standards that should be addressed immediately. Bartender Stacey should have stayed home!
Took way too long to get served at the bar. Bartender clearly had friends in and they were chatting with them and serving them before others. They finished a whole round and got another while I was waiting.
After reading all of the reviews, I was honestly a bit confused walking into this place. In the simplest way, it just felt like a newly built hotel lobby -- the space is nice don't get me wrong, but it felt scattered and I definitely wouldn't describe it as cozy as the other reviews have. A bit of personal preference I'm sure, but wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for that distinct neighbourhood Irish pub feeling.
Nice location, and usually packed with people. The prices are pretty high for a pour of whisky and some of the service was slow. A few more bartenders could help. They did have some live music , always a plus. Glad I stopped in but probably won't return. Bhí craic ann, ach níor raibh craic mhaith ann
Great atmosphere with good drinks. If you try to call they won’t answer. I had forgotten to close my tab after purchasing 2 drinks the other night. When I came back the following morning after trying to call and have them hold the card with no answer, I was told the card was not there. Not sure how it was misplaced less than 24 hours later - or if it was given to someone else accidentally. I shouldn’t have left my card, so that’s on me, but they need to get more organized if they’re going to hold onto cards when customers open tabs.
Don’t bring politics into a bar where people are just trying to enjoy a night out. The singer at your bar should stick to singing.
Bouncer wouldn’t let in all of my friends above 22 because we didn’t have a NY id… we will not be returning
Was looking for a quick stop to play pool. My boyfriend and I frequented this place numerous times, BUT this specific day we were told we weren’t allowed to play pool unless we ordered something and were asked for our ID. This has never happened ever. We never were carded or told that we had to purchase a drink to use their pool table. The crowd is usually all white, so we kind of felt...yeah you get the gist. Never will I support a business like this. Very disappointed.
Discriminated us because we were POC. We tried to get a table inside but they told us our party was too large and they were at capacity and would seat us once they had 6-7 people leave. 3 people were leaving as we were asking for a table so we decide to stay and wait for another party to leave so we can sit inside and they told us we were on the waitlist. We saw multiple party’s get seated while we sat outside even though they came in after us. Our waiter didn’t even check on us and basically forgot we were outside. If your party isn’t majority white don’t bother coming here
3 guys gathered around where I was sitting and kept asking if I lived nearby. When they left it was implied they would wait for me outside. Creepy as hell. I’d been there often until that night but have rarely gone back.
The bouncer (big guy with the tattoos and facial hair) told our friend he wasnt welcome in the bar cause he had a tote bag with a towel in it. Kicked a bunch of our friends out because of the argument it started. Not a good look for anotherwise solid spot.
Definitely not for black people. I went there with a few of my white friends and I noticed every time I went to the bathroom the some guy who worked there (maybe the manager) kept following me to the bathroom. At first I didn’t realize it but the last time he introduced himself, said he was working there for 6 years, watched me use the bathroom, (held the door open and everything) and when I left the bathroom, he walked out too. Then he tells me “this isn’t my first rodeo” and implies that I’m either there to do something malicious or scandalous. Meanwhile the white people there do coke and other drugs in the bathroom all night and nobody ever stops them. Then this guy proceeds to follow me back to my seat and whispers something to the bar tender and leaves. The next time I went to the bathroom the Bartender then follows me to the bathroom. I figure ok maybe he has to use that bathroom too, but no. He follows me to the bathroom and when I used the bathroom and leave, he also leaves. Never used the bathroom. It was very clear that I was not wanted. I looked like everyone else in there (dress wise), carried my self with more decorum than anyone in there, I didn’t do any drugs, and the only thing different from me and the other customers was my skin color. It’s a sad thing that we are still dealing with these types of establishments in 2023. Very disgusted and never going back.
Please beware when using credit cards. We stopped by this bar last Saturday and the bartender was really friendly but Ben (I think was his name) the bartender from Scotland decided to add an additional tip to the credit card slip even though we left him an almost 50% cash tip. I guess that wasn't enough since he added extra to our bill once we left. I wouldn't suggest using a Credit card while this person is working. Very shady.
Not that good of a bar and honestly quite overpriced.
We live in the neighborhood and stopped by for some drinks a few days ago. Everything was going great until it was time to leave. My friend and I left earlier while our partners stayed to close the bill. The bartender had accidentally charged us for an extra beer. Rather than admit to the error, he gave an attitude and claimed that he hadn’t charged us for a bunch of drinks (which was untrue, the bill already included ALL the drinks we had, plus an additional IPA). Rather than argue over this, we just paid the extra amount even though it shouldn’t have been on. It was not a busy night and should have been easy to correct. Then we find out once the charge posted on the credit card, that he added an additional $10 on his tip. Sucks but that kind of behavior - not correcting the bill, giving an attitude about a mistake he made AND ADDING an amount onto the tip, will definitely make us never come here again.
Bouncers became physically agressive with my friends at last call, man-handling them and pushing them out the door while they were actively calling their uber and clearly getting ready to leave. Other patrons remained inside while also waiting for their rides, since it was cold. My friends were, for some reason, targeted by the bouncer(s) even though they were acting normally. All attempts to contact management have been futile and owner failed to show up to a scheduled convo to discuss the incident. Be careful here.
The management had coordinated with my sister, to reserve a space for 40 following her wedding. It was a Saturday night in BK, and was busy, which totally isn’t a problem for us. But they took the reservation, and assured us that they could handle our party.. We arrived, found that there was no space. When we asked about it the manager pointed to a booth in the back where a birthday party was set up for someone. They decorations and everything. Pretty crappy feeling ngl. On top of that, they were rude to members of my family and unapologetic to my sister on her wedding day for a mistake they made. It’s totally okay if an establishment does not have the desire nor the ability to handle a party of that size on a weekend. But don’t tell a bride that you can do handle it and then treat her with indifference and disrespect when she shows up and finds yall didn’t do anything but waster her time. It’s unprofessional. “No” is a very easy word to say and it would have been better to hear it weeks ago than it was to experience it first hand with family friends and loved ones. It was embarrassing and confusing for my family. And I hope this place chooses to treat people with more respect in the future. Also: Happy to post receipts if the owners get pissed by this review.
