Opinions de Lilia Brooklyn
Located in Williamsburg so of course the area already has a lot going on. The restaurant has a great vibe! We started with the housemade mozzarella and toasted garlic bread which was addicting... Tried the grilled artichoke with parmigiano and bread crumbs as well as the Italian broccoli and chili oil and lemon. So a great start to the meal!!! The sheeps milk agnolotti with saffron and dried tomatoes was amazing. We also tried the grilled chicken by and leg with fingerling tomatoes which was more than enough to share and it was delicious!! They have an extensive wine and cocktail menu so lots of great choices!!
Super friendly staff and a great place to spend an evening catching up with friends. We booked a 6pm patio table, so we didn’t see much of the inside, but it was packed so reservations are a must. The patio was perfect though, plenty of separation from the sidewalk and a comfortable setup. Most importantly, the food was fantastic. It’s not cheap, but the portions were fair and everything felt thoughtfully prepared with real attention to detail. If I were to recommend two things, it would be the focaccia and the agnolotti, they were the table favorites. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely recommend it.
Lilia is an outstanding modern italian restaurant. I would rate it 4.5 stars, and rounding up to 5 this time because we ordered one of the dishes a second time. The agnolotti is to die for. Perfectly balanced and very rich and complex. We also enjoyed the focaccia and the little gem salad as appetizers. The prosciutto was okay, and the arancini were also only okay. Mafaldini pasta was good. The italian job dessert was good but we expected better from all the hype. Would come back, lovely place, and great setting.
Great food and service in a very casual but eclectic setting. There were a couple misses for us but overall absolutely delicious fresh food and we will definitely return. Mozz and bread is a large portion but absolutely worth trying. Cheese was soft and flavorful and bread was thick and crusty. Little gem salad as pretty to look at as it was to eat. Grilled artichoke, I probably could have eaten 5. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Bagna Cauda was a miss for us. The anchovy dip was overpowering and I think I just didn’t understand the dish. We tried the agnolotti based on our server’s recommendation and so glad we did. Soft creamy pillows of deliciousness. Spaghetti also delicious, pasta was al dente with texture from the nuts. Escarole was another recommended dish and it was very good and a nice side. The lamb steak was our other miss. It was cooked well but if I didn’t know I was eating lamb I would have thought it was a bland steak. It had no gamey lamb flavor. We didn’t know but will try next time that there is an off the menu steak and potato dish you can order. It looked and smelled amazing. This restaurant serves unpretentious delicious food, can’t wait to return and try more options.
Overall a great dinner! The food was very tasty...the pasta was perfectly al dente and the wine was amazing. Service was timely and kind. They even helped find us a table instead of sitting at the bar 😁 Highly recommend getting the Little Gem Salad, the Mussels, the Rigatoni, and the Mafaldini! Highly recommend!
A delightful place to spend an evening. It was packed on a Tuesday. Turnover of tables was brisk. The quality of the ingredients and the cooking was excellent. As ridiculous as this might sound, one of the truly outstanding dishes we had was Roasted Ramp Focaccia with Ramp Butter. Yes, the bread. Sensational. The prawns were as fresh as can be & the chicken cooked to perfection. Service was excellent - you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Pasta in its highest form. The airy, high-ceilinged space has great energy, where casual warmth meets fine-dining poise. Soft lighting, elegant plating, professional service. The focaccia, crackling and warm, arrives with a deeply flavorful and memorable green garlic butter. From there, the little gem salad is refreshingly tart, sharp with vinaigrette and pecorino, while the celery root is earthy and bright, delivering a citrusy lift. To round out the starters, the prosciutto arrives silky and delicate, paired with a balsamic mustard. The pasta. It’s why you’re here, and it’s why you’ll return. The agnolotti, filled with sheep’s milk cheese, saffron-tinged and honey-kissed, kind of melts on your tongue. The caramelized onion ravioli vanishes almost too quickly, a testament to the exquisite taste of the brown butter and balsamic. The mafaldini is all about texture, its wavy ribbons clinging to pink peppercorn and parmigiano, delivering peppery goodness. The soft serve honey-olive oil gelato is the right balance of sweet and savory, while the olive oil cake is moist and tender. Both are exceptional in their own way. The quiet confidence, the genuine hospitality—Lilia is magnificent. It's the kind of restaurant that ruins you for all others.

We recently dined at Lilia and were genuinely impressed by the hospitality and service, which were impeccable — every staff member we encountered was attentive, polite, and welcoming. That said, the food itself was underwhelming, especially in light of the high prices. We started with the artichokes and scallops as appetizers, and while the scallops were the highlight of our meal, the portion size (two scallops for $30) didn’t feel justified for the price. For mains, we shared the sheep’s milk cheese agnolotti and the fettuccine with lamb sausage. Unfortunately, none of the dishes stood out — they were decent but lacked the depth, particularly given the restaurant’s reputation for pasta. For dessert, we had the apple crostata. It was fine but nothing extraordinary, and in my view the crème fraiche on top didn’t quite work. If it wasn’t for the service, this wouldn’t be 2-3 star experience.
The service at this place is truly amazing! The food is good, but nothing special enough to make me want to return. For the scallops, you only get two small pieces for $30. The pastas we tried received big recommendations, but they were lacking flavor. The only thing I liked is the apple crostata. I wish it came with ice cream not the creme fraiche.
I usually hear people going before they open to get a table, and was so excited that I was able to reserve online! The staff were nice and helpful with deciding our orders, and we were glad that we did not skip on the focaccia! I was way too full afterwards, so I think the 2 of us could’ve just gotten one pasta instead of 2 (or just one appetizer)!
Finally got a table here after years of having it on my list. I love sister restaurant Misi so was super excited to try Lilia. The service was excellent but the food let me down. The focaccia was flaky and dry — more like a biscuit than the chewy, moist dough I was expecting. The prawns were a chore to eat and the pastas were good but didn’t blow me away. It seemed like there was a bit of a backup in the kitchen on a Friday night and two of the dishes came out cold but the staff were incredibly accommodating and did everything they could to correct the situation.
Such a friendly staff and a beautiful space—busy but not overly loud, which made for a comfortable dining experience. We didn’t realize both the ramp butter and chicken liver dishes came with huge pieces of bread. It would’ve been helpful if our server had mentioned that so we could’ve balanced our order a bit better. I usually love chicken liver, but the plating here—with a greenish-brown piping—was visually unappetizing and made it hard to enjoy. The pastas were nicely cooked, but I didn’t love the texture of the mafaldine with peppercorns—it had a gritty bite that was distracting. That said, the Italian Job gelato was absolutely life-changing. I came in with low expectations because, well, it’s just gelato—but it completely blew me away. Easily one of the best bites I’ve had all year. I’d come back just for that and to explore more of the menu. Definitely worth trying if you’re curious about the hype.
Reservations months in advance at this local hot spot. Food is great and priced as such. Pizzas, pastas, lambs, chicken, but don't overlook the bread, it's fantastic. Food at that price point deserves a 4.5 but not 5 stars. Service and the atmosphere were both on point. Never skip dessert!
I’ve been wanting to try Lilia for the longest time and it’s seriously so hard to get a table here. So randomly on a Saturday afternoon, we ran here right when it opened at 4 PM and funny enough, a bunch of other people had the same idea too. We only waited about 15 minutes before we got a corner seat inside. The staff really tries to persuade people to sit outside but it was way too cold and windy for that, especially not ideal spring weather. The interior was honestly so beautiful, with this modern but rustic charm. The ceiling was made from rustic looking wood beams, and it felt like it was preserved from whatever the space used to be before. The textures and finishes throughout the space just felt super intentional and balanced. I already saw so many tables were reserved. They had a drinks menu and a separate dessert menu. We got a few of the dishes that are always recommended online: • Grilled Clams with Calabrian Chili and Breadcrumbs • Sheep’s Milk Cheese Agnolotti with Saffron, Dried Tomato, and Honey • Mafaldini with Pink Peppercorn and Parmigiano The Grilled Clams were honestly a 5/10 for me. They weren’t anything special, and I felt they were a little sandy, but maybe that was just the breadcrumbs. The flavor was decent, refreshing with a slight spicy kick from the Calabrian chili, but not something I’d rave about. I did appreciate that since we were 3 girls, they gave us 12 clams instead of 10 so we could split them evenly. Thank you to the staff for that! The Agnolotti was rich and creamy, with the flavor of the sheep’s milk cheese really coming through. The pasta skin was so thin and delicate, and I love combining the sun-dried tomato, a piece of garlic, and a bite of the Agnolotti. The dish had a hint of sweetness, and the overall flavor was really rich and balanced. Definitely a highlight of the meal! Now I wish there were some veggies in it, but still a solid 7/10. Now the Mafaldini, literally so good. Salty and slightly sweet, and I loved the touch of pink peppercorn because I love pepper. And omg I love love the shape of the pasta, it was so unique and cooked to such perfection. Al dente and super chewy in the best way possible. I can’t stress enough how much flavor came out of every bite. These noodles were longgggg too. Definitely an 8/10. The desserts did seem a bit overpriced, but overall I’d still love to come back for more items on the menu and to try some of the cocktails, since I didn’t get to try them this time!

The Rigatoni was solid. But the Mafaldini lacked flavor. The Agnolotti was the star of the show. The fettucini ragù was flavorful but it was a lot of noodles and not enough sauce. We also ordered a rib eye steak that came out cold and rare, which had to be sent back. Overall this place is average, but overhyped. It’s a 3/5 stars and that’s an honest review. And I’ve eaten at hundreds of Italian restaurants.

We got a food poisoning yesterday! I try to be as objective as I can: beautiful vibe, location and very kind service. The mozzarella was excellent and the beans were fine but nothing special. The clams were sadly way too chewy and overcooked and the mussels tasted old and not fresh, so we sent them back. The seabass was cooked well but not memorable. The staff was polite and removed the mussels from the bill (that was still pretty high) but unfortunately once we got home both of us got sick and we still are. Maybe it was just bad luck, but overall it was a very disappointing experience and I don’t understand the hype. I really hope the restaurant can fix this.
