Ok... this place is ridiculously good! I have eaten here for the past 3 days because it is honestly the best restaurant in the area. The coffee is great and the pastries are fresh and amazing. But they’re main menu is to die!! The chicken tacos are a must have, the tamales and baked empanadas are great too. The pork sandwich was killer! I’m slowly making my way through this menu!
Stopped in on a busy morning for a delicious chorizo sandwich and coffee. The staff was super attentive and friendly even tho they were pretty slammed. Def stop by if your in the neighborhood.
I love this place!! Definitely my go to breakfast/brunch place in the area. Their food is always on point and so flavorful!! I could legit eat their chicken empanadas every day they’re that good. Also the avocado toast is killer. The bread is always just the right amount toasted and with a poached egg on top it makes a perfect breakfast item 🤗
Amazing breakfast food and tacos!
Cute place to get breakfast or lunch. It's a mix of people parking there with their laptops, and just eating, but every time I've gone there I've gotten a table immediately or in less than 10 min. Good selection of food! Cozy atmosphere, nice staff, yummy baked goods.
I'm more and more pleased with every delicious treat I enjoy here. Today was the Crispy Eggplant Sandwich and I feel like I never want to eat anything but this sandwich ever again. Be ready for a happy atmosphere, great service, and delicious coffee and snacks!! (Oh and try the Pan de Yuca if you need a quick and immediate smile.)
Incredible friendly service and amazing food and coffee.
This place is great! they have about 10 tables and it gets crowded by about 10.30. Tables are for sharing and they have a fun and cute space. I loved the new take on some traditional breakfast dishes. I got the horchata latte, which is definitely on the sweet side, so ask for some extra coffee to go with it and smooth out the sweet. I also got the pork hash and I highly recommend this, its got a great combination of textures- crispy pork, round hominy, pickled jalapenos and pickled onions. Comes with a poached egg on top and makes for a fantastic breakfast. I asked for a side of a dulce de leche butter and I recommend that everyone gets this cos its simply fabulous. Get a pancake or something to put it on as well. My friends tried the granola and yogurt- which was really thick and very much a meal since I think they hung out some greek yogurt, and also the sandwich with avocado scrambled egg and chorizo- this is really spicy and I can handle my spice, so watch it if this is your order. That being said, it was super delicious. Great little space, good waitstaff and clean bathrooms. Its close to me too, so ill be walking over soon for another breakfast moment
First time here. Thought it was a little restaurant but it’s a cute coffee shop too! I mean horchata latte and sweet plantain loaf. Matcha is nice a bright green too. Vibe and music nice👌🏼
Love love love this neighborhood spot. A unique joy to be somewhere where every item on the menu is delicious. I highly recommend the horchata lattes (or just straight horchata) to go. If dining in you can’t go wrong, every plate we’ve had is fantastic.
Uncomplicated, consistently positive experience. Pancakes are great. So is the avocado toast + poached eggs. This place never disappoints to entertain and show friends and family the neighborhood.
Very chill atmosphere and delicious food. Buttermilk pancakes may be some of the (if not THE) best I've ever had. Horchata latte is also A+!
Met a friend for breakfast, had the Peruvian hash — hominy with shredded pork, pickled onions, jalapeño, and egg. Perfect! Iced cappuccino was also delicious. Definitely want to go back and try more things.
Colina Cuervo is a great little café on Nostrand. They have excellent coffee, including a horchata latte, and a excellent pastries and empanadas. It's a fun little space with a lot of people writing and doing other work. This is definitely a great spot to grab coffee or lunch.
Simply delicious. Everything on the menu is top-notch, and the coffee is fantastic. The staff is always so nice and I make it a point to stop by Colina at least once a week.
The horchata latte and the guava & cheese empanada are really good! This is such a great spot!
Super friendly staff and owner, casual comfy ambiance and - most importantly - fantastic food that never disappoints. I'm here pretty much every weekend and always leave with a smile on my face. Plus the prices are extremely reasonable - I love this place!
Colina Cuervo is a Crown Heights OG. The ambiance is Australian inspired, with a cozy sitting area and perfect looking cafe food. Although I eat kosher so I can't comment on their food, the coffee is magnificent. With rich flavor and a delicious aroma this is the place to get a mighty fine black coffee. The staff is warm and always down for a quick chat. Every time I walk in I feel noticed and appreciated. This is a place to truly feel at peace and at home in busy Brooklyn. Colina Cuervo is also a great place to catch some great looking hipsters. Trust me you want to be a regular here, it has good benefits.
This Cafe is always consistent and a great experience. The staff, management, menu, food, presentation and hospitality is second to none. The place is immaculate and anyone who stops by will feel at home! The community loves Colina Cuervo!!!!
The food was really good and the staff were great. I do wish they would have a laptop policy to limit laptop use because all the tables were taken by people working on their laptops and so there were none available for people who wanted to just eat in, especially if you weren’t alone.
Cute little place with strong coffee and Latino twist on a busy street. If you don't like overfly sugary pancakes, they are for you. They mixed up our order a bit but we didn't care much, it still was delicious. Some stuff is a bit unusual for our general taste but I definitely recommend visiting.
The coffee here is always amazing but also come here for the food. The menu has some thing for everyone. Healthy/ a little less healthy options. Vegan/ not vegan options. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Perfect breakfast/lunch spot that always has something for every mood. Def recommend:)
Food is excellent, service is quick and friendly. Had breakfast there twice now and will continue to as much as possible! Literally every piece of every meal (my group always shares) is so tasty and flavorful. And the icing on top is the coffee which is also delicious. Highly recommend!
First and foremost, because this place is not kosher, I can't give a fill review of this restaurant, but I loved the environment. The place has a good vibe with plenty of seating for approximately 25 patrons. All the food appears to have very good presentation, and all the patrons seemed very satisfied with the taste. The tea I can say is exceptional, and they have a lot of good blends. The coffee is also of good quality. The service is spectacular, and they were very friendly staff. Warm welcoming environment
Such good food, a new favorite breakfast spot. Solid coffee, too. Service and atmosphere both very good, too. Pork hash, bacon, pancakes, and tacos have all been great
This is a great neighborhood coffee shop and breakfast fare. Their espresso is one of the best I had in Brooklyn. The food is all fresh and really delicious. And their cheese and guava empanadas are one of my reasons to go back all the time!
Wonderful place to grab breakfast. We were greeted kindly at the door by wait staff who remembered my friend's regular coffee order. I had the most delicious buttermilk pancakes, and the Greek yogurt with fruit and granola was unbelievably delicious. Would recommend 100%
Latin American fusion brunch dishes that are delicious and lightning fast. Some of the best pork fried rice and crispy potatoes I've had in my life.
cute spot. had the chorizo tacos and a hibiscus lemonade. very tasty. good serving size.
Great food and coffee, cute ambiance :)
Only been here a couple times but I love this place. Food is delicious and their horchata coffee is a nice sweet treat!

I am in love with the avocado and eggs sandwich. Thanks so much for it! 💚 My roommates also love this place. I’ve also tried their lentil soup and salads. They are super good. I’m glad they keep up with the quality of the food since I went there for the first time two years ago.
I go here a lot because it's right around the corner. Good vibes, good food, good coffee. Also they really help people get seats which is nice, because it's a small place and busy.
I’ve been coming here for years (at least 10) and easily one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Great variety of food + drinks.
Great food and coffee, and really nice people. I’m staying with a friend in the neighborhood for a few weeks and these guys have always come through (even with a quick phone order when I have a tight schedule) thank you all!!!
I always have an exceptional experience here! The baristas are always kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. Serving Counter Culture coffee, every drink I’ve had has been solid. Their food menu really shines as well!
I only recently discovered Colina Cuervo after living in the neighborhood for over five years. It’s quickly become my favorite cafe in the area and my go-to spot for chill Sunday morning breakfast. Sit at the window and enjoy delicious fluffy buttermilk pancakes with dulce de leche butter while you read a book. Those pancakes come with eggs and bacon too, and add a cappuccino for a grand total of just $22. One of the most reasonably priced meals in the area. Don’t forget to tip the friendly staff for their excellent service too!
These guys deserve all the success that they’ve had. Friendly staff awesome food great coffee. Couldn’t ask for a better place in the neighborhood.
I get coffee here consistently and they do an excellent job with espresso drinks. The hibiscus lemonade is also really good. Food is delicious. I love the pancakes, which come with dolce de leche. Pork sandwich is also yummy.
This place is great. Their food, coffee, and pastries are all delicious. The service is also so smooth and speedy, even when they're packed! Also it’s nice to have a place with a truly unique menu in the neighborhood.
Great coffee and nice to have some nontraditional breakfast to change it up! Nice staff and convenient location.
On this cold spring morning in April Colina was the only restaurant open for breakfast. I was so please when I came across it. Not only are they minutes away from home, the warm welcome in, atmosphere and the food was a 10/10. I really enjoyed the Dulce butter pancakes with chorizo, scrambled eggs with a hibiscus lemonade. I didn’t get a chance for a photo I was too hungry and excited to eat.
This is me and my girlfriend's favorite restaurant/cafe in Brooklyn. Love the food, staff and atmosphere. The lattes are great, and there are at least 4 dishes on the menu I love. Also, from time to time they have a cheese grits with shrimp dish that is da bomb!!! It can be crowded sometimes, but never have waited to long to find a seat. There's just a good flow of people coming in and out. Been coming here for at least a year. Part of my morning routine was grabbing coffee there and then periodically throughout the week we'd come in and eat. Great spot!!!
Great neighborhood spot, I have been coming here for 3+ years now. I love everything on the menu. I usually bring my friends here if they are visiting from out of town. Nice, cozy seating area indoors and outside. I wrote today because Teddy just made a new yorker/life saving iced latte I very much needed. Tastes great. (I also really love the crispy eggplant sandwich!) Thanks to the kind and great staff always!
I love this place- I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had, all of the pastries and brunch items have been delicious and people there are warm and friendly.
This a warm and cozy place to start your day. They have great coffee. And You can find one the best carrot cake as well. There is also other delicatessen options that definitely worth to try.
No where else in the city can you get as perfect of a poached egg than Colina Cuervo. I recommend the avocado toast with chorizo AND a poached egg.
Love the dolce de leche butter on the pancakes. Whenever I’m back in Brooklyn I make a trip to get it. Horchata late is also amazing.
The coffee is so good! So far every plate and pastry I've had has satisfied me - both as a full meal or in between snack. I recommend the "ensalada de la casa", it is very flavorful and a clean well balanced plate (also it doesnt feel like you're eating mostly lettuce/greens like usually salads do).
One of my favorite spots in Brooklyn!!! Amazing food and the best horchata I’ve ever had…especially a fan of the barista with the short hair and eyebrow piercing who is always so kind whenever they take my order! Also whoever is in charge of the music has great taste. Highly recommended :)
Colina Cuervo’s food is never a disappointment. Everything is well seasoned, flavorful, and delicious. I would highly recommend their pancakes with the exceptional dulce de leche butter and their horchata and dulce de leche lattés. Also, the service is exceptional: the staff goes above and beyond for their customers. Colina Cuervo is a must-try when in Crown Heights!
The food is always fresh and tasty. My favorite is the chicken/shrimp tacos Quick service and friendly cashiers and servers. Definitely my go to spot for Saturday brunch😋
Probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I keep coming back for more! Coffee is delicious too. It’s not a cafe you’ll want to spend much time in as the seating is very uncomfortable & there’s only one outlet, so it’s not an ideal workspace. But the staff is always lovely & it’s overall a really great spot for quick meals & chats!
This is a go-to spot for my friends and I after the our spin class. The indoor & outdoor seating is first come first serve and it is recommended that you order, get a number & have a seat. The food is really good & my normal order is avocado toast with the chorizo. I prefer a hard boiled egg but they haven’t been able to get the egg right. One time they said they can do hard boiled, next they said they can’t do it & then I asked for over-hard poached egg & it was very runny. The grits are a must! The empanadas are a pass. Overall, this is a great cafe.
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE at colina cuervo! We've been here dozens ans dozens of times and can't wait to be back :) It's so cute and comfy. The only thing is it's usually pretty crowded and difficult to get a table so be prepared to take out or wait. It's pretty much self service and alot of people come to hangout on their laptops like Starbucks. There bathroom is nice and clean too. The food is so good and the quality is clear. My one feedback is it's expensive and the portion sizes are really small so be prepared for that. Otherwise it's a great casual spot or for an early morning date :) 😀
A cute cafe that’s become a favorite. It gets quite busy on the weekends if you’re looking to eat in, but there’s a to go counter and their pastries are all delicious for a quick bite. Always some of the best coffee, and highlight food menu items are the tacos (great portion and flavor on both the fried chicken and veggie), the avocado toast, pork hash, and recent favorite… their BLT with avocado. Update. They no longer have the BLT and it was one of my favorites. Sad.
Amazing place for brunch and study. The avocado toast was great. The outer part of the toast had a strong buttered- fried taste but it was good. Horchata latte was good but I think I'll take only horchata next time. I could stay long to write, which means the atmosphere was great. - Second time visiting, the salad was huge and delicious and the corn cake was yum. - Third time visiting, I got hot horchata and carrot cake. They were both nice :) - Fourth time visiting, I tried warm bowl with avocado. I didn't have to add avocado because the portion was huge! - Fifth time, I tried lentil&kale bowl with chorizo! Never disappointed with the portion and taste. It was actually a good combination with chorizo!
I love this place. Great vibes, delicious fresh food and the best guava cheese empanadas in nyc! I've been here a few times now and have not been disappointed once with my order. I've tried the eggplant sandwich (my favorite), grain salad, carrot cake, apple and guava/cheese empanada. Everything is yummy! There is seating outdoors and indoors. I've sat indoors with my laptop to work and most of the time it works out. Sometimes the place can get noisy and distracting. They always have great music- their playlists have been nostalgic, upbeat with diverse genres. The customer service has always been good. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I have come back with family and friends and recommend this gem of a place in the neighborhood. Btw- they have great drinks. I'm not a coffee drinker but friends have raved about their drinks. My teas have been refreshing! Check this place out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because everything is so good I wish the menu had a few more items. The Avocado Toast is divine and the sandwiches are delicious! The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is friendly. Every time I've been there the owner was there as well. This, to me at least, usually means he cares about the business he's running and you can definitely tell he imbues his small restaurant with his welcoming and positive attitude.
Food is great! Its a small cafe like place, so you can sit yourself anywhere. Only thing is they didn't have my favorites, the tamales the last time I went there! For tamales, just make sure you get there early enough- they run out!
Love this cafe! Great coffee, super nice and bright sitting area. The staff is incredibly nice as well! Four stars rather than five because I think their baked goods need some work (fairly dry and dense) and the tables can feel pretty tightly packed. That said, I still end up going pretty often because of how pleasant the environment is here!
I came with my friends based on a recommendation I got. It was a bit unfortunate that we came at a time when there wasn't enough seating for us. So my friends left for home. I stayed as I waited for my next meeting and ordered a latte and a sandwich. The food was good! Also the staff here was nice too! I would look forward to come again and try other things on the menu. 👍😊
The food here is consistently delicious. I truly wish they had a bigger space to accommodate more people. Sometimes I walk past wanting to go in but they’re full to the brim with customers. I’ve tried a few items from their menu and all good. I really enjoyed the pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon with this butter that they have, very hearty meal. Also the bacon was not oily. Hate when restaurants do that. I felt the portion size compared to the price of the breakfast was of good value. Another thing I love is that their menu isn’t long but then again that would lean more towards a diner which this spot is not. Definitely recommend to a friend!
Great breakfast food. The service can be improved. The Staff was not the most accommodating. The hibiscus lemonade was too bitter for my liking . The atmosphere inside the restaurant is loud by not overwhelming.
Cute spot, but they have a pretty basic menu. I got the Plato Ecuatoriano and the steak was overcooked anf had very little flavor - definitely not worth the $17. May come back to try other items.
I want to give this place 5 stars -- the service is impeccable and the coffee is delicious! However, it is FREEZING COLD in there. Why would I go eat lunch in a FREEZING COLD coffee shop in the middle of WINTER?? Is the heat off? lol
This place is a transplant trap. The prices on the laminated menu in the cafe do not reflect the actual prices. The buttermilk pancakes are listed as 16 dollars but are actually 18. They still charge for oatmilk. The service is mid tier. There are no outlets. I’ve given this place three chances but will skip it from now on.
Really cozy space. Good food selection for a cafe. It was pretty full I got there around noon. I will say I was the only person who ordered when I arrived the next person who ate in arrived maybe 15 mins after me. However they got their food before me (two people sandwiches which don’t take long but it was not regular deli sans) I ordered pancakes and bacon with 2 eggs over easy. After another couple came in after the original couple came, ordered, got their food I finally asked and she asked me what I got after I had a table number but that’s fine she came back pretty quickly with my cold that was not super hot as if it just finished which personally I find annoying but the food was so good so it slightly made up for the aggravation I wasn’t in a rush so I was not really a huge deal just noticed. But yes eat here! I will go back hopefully today was just my day to have to wait.
Have tried the pastries twice and they were super dry both times. Can’t speak to the food made to order though
I’ve been coming here since 2016, rotating between the three coffee shops on the street (now four). I usually stop by two or three times a week for a coffee and a sandwich, quick in and out, nothing fancy, and I don’t expect emotional labor from service workers. But this morning might have been my last visit. There’s one cashier who has always been rude and cold, and today was just too much. I simply asked about the price difference (about 20 cents) because I thought I had ordered a large coffee — and she cut me off, spoke rudely, and didn’t even say good morning. but from now on I’ll just check through the window, if she’s there, I’ll keep walking. There are plenty of other options on Nostrand between St. Johns and Bergen.
So I met a friend here for breakfast the other day. I walked in and waited in line (there were 4 people in front of me). I wasn't sure how the system works as when you walk in they have a counter and then in another room they have tables in chairs but no sign of how what where to order. So wasting about 7 minutes, I waited until I was front in line and of course the employee asks, will you be dining with us? Yes. Ok take a seat we'll bring the menus to you. See?! All that could have been avoided if there was a small sign telling dining in customers to take a seat and someone will serve them. Anyways, we sit down and a waitress brings over menus but runs away so fast before we were able to at least order coffees. She comes back a few minutes later, we already knew what we wanted and order lattes, plato ecuatoriano and ensalata de la casa. My friend ordered the salad which was pretty good but my skirt steak and eggs were something I've never had before. The steak was well done, chewy, had some sort of liquid sitting on it and pretty much wasn't what I'd imagined a steak and eggs to look like (yes I've had plenty of steak and eggs). Overall our experience was pretty meh. I probably won't return to this establishment as there was no wow factor.
I went here to have breakfast and the cashier/ waitress was quite rude. She barely opened her mouth to greet me. She was quite dry in her tone when she spoke to me but I brushed it off as maybe she wasn’t having a good day. As I went to be seated I heard her voice so nice and pleasant to other customers who entered the establishment. Because of her poor attitude I will never return here. She shouldn’t be picky with who she decides to be respectful to. I was so annoyed I just ate my food and left. Also, this was my second time here and I really enjoyed my food the first time. The waitress/cashier was a chubby bald chick who had such a horrible energy. I will say the food is good but the service from this person was trash!
Trekked 45 minutes on a humid day to get to this spot and was very much looking forward to it based on recommendations. However, they denied me for indoor seating due to having only a single vaccine shot (almost at second dose, and I've been to several bars/restaurants and this is first to deny me). I kindly advised of NYC governments Website clearly states only a single shot is required for indoor dining, gyms, etc., but cashier said "no its full vaccination." I showed them the Website and non discrimination section if someone shows valid proof of vaccination. They said we only do as we're told (fair enough). I calmly said I'm not trying to be difficult just thought this might be useful so you don't turn away future customers if you're going off NYC Govs general requirements. I left this review on Yelp to which someone (likely the owner) marked as funny immediately after.
1. I was here a while back while the espresso machine was being serviced and they were cleaning dried cockroaches out of it! Gross! 2. My latte tasted burned, pastries were overpriced 3. The owner is misogynistic and extremely rude to his female employees. I would never recommend this cafe.
