The service here is very friendly and polite. We went there for the first time and our experience was very good. Ambience is amazing and on top of that food is very delicious with flavours. This place is also kids friendly, they even brought the customised food for him even it was not on the menu.

I’ve been to this new Turkish restaurant twice now first with a friend and then brought my whole family for Father’s Day. The ambiance is cozy, charming, and instantly makes you feel at home. The menu is visually amazing perfect for someone like me who appreciates seeing pictures alongside dish names! While a few items weren’t available yet (which is totally understandable for a new spot), what was available was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with love. The staff are kind, attentive, and made our visit even more enjoyable. And don’t even get me started on the desserts heavenly! I’m so happy a place like this opened up in the neighborhood. We truly needed it, and I can’t wait to come back again and again.

We have visited this place with my friends on a weekend for late lunch and we really liked it. The food was pretty good. Especially head and trousers soup, which is really hard to find in the states in the first place, and cigkofte were two of my favourite of the day. Thank you Emrah chef! We tried pide, lahmacun, adana wrap, and doner plate which were delicious. The prices were pretty decent compared to manhattan prices. Also, people were pretty nice, especially manager Kayhan. Would def recommend and I will definitely come back again!

I had a takeout of large mix grill, babaganoush, acucuk (tomato), and beet salad with orange. Everything was delicious: adana, kefta, lamb kebab, my children loved chicken kebab. It came with nice portion of rice, and two sauces. Also they included plenty of fresh/warm homemade bread. Order was completed in less than half an hour. We really enjoyed nice family meal thanks to Degirmen. Food is great, no wonder they are always busy.

Kayhan Bey first recommended the wedding soup (Düğün Çorbası), and then the lamb shish kebab. Both were absolutely delicious. The mixed grill was also excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the desserts were fresh, and enjoying Turkish tea after the meal was a great touch. Honestly, this is the best Turkish food I’ve had in the U.S.! The kebabs were perfectly grilled, the Adana was full of flavor, and the lahmacun was thin and crispy—just like back home. I just discovered a real culinary treasure in Brighton Beach. From the moment you walk in, you feel the quality: fresh, authentic Turkish flavours. They have a very rich menu and everything is halal! Everything we ordered was well-seasoned and generous in portion. The bakery side is equally impressive: beautiful pastries — especially the baklava — that balance sweetness without feeling heavy. This is a place that works for casual lunches, family dinners, or ending a meal with a perfectly brewed tea and dessert. I visited Değirmen Restaurant and Bakery for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The Turkish menemen was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The eggs were soft and paired so well with the vegetables and spices. I also ordered a coffee latte, which was smooth and nicely balanced. Great combination for a relaxed morning meal. The restaurant offers Turkish, Mediterranean, and halal cuisine, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Friendly staff and good service made the experience even better. I would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

I recently checked out this cafe-restaurant and was really impressed. The interior is super cool and unique, with a vibe that makes you want to hang out. It was a genuinely pleasant place to be. I also have to give a shout-out to the friendly staff. Everyone was attentive and polite, which definitely made the whole experience even better. Just a heads-up if you're like me and love a doner kebab in lavash: they don't start cooking the meat first thing in the morning. I learned this on the spot, so it's best to go after 11:00 AM if that's what you're craving. Overall, I had a fantastic time. It's a great place for good food and a chill atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

I genuinely like Degirmen and truly want this place to succeed. It is a restaurant I would love to return to again and again — especially for the Turkish breakfast, the atmosphere, and the quality of the food. I come here often for the Turkish breakfast, but unfortunately the service feels inconsistent. Each visit, the order of dishes is different. For example, when menemen is served hot, it would make sense for the bread and simit to arrive at the same time. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. On one visit, simit and a pouch were included, on another they were not. When I asked whether they were part of the Turkish breakfast, there was no clear answer, although they were eventually brought. Overall, there seems to be frequent confusion around the breakfast service. I would also like to share some specific feedback regarding the Turkish breakfast. The amount of cheese served is quite large, but it would be much better to offer smaller portions with a wider variety of cheeses and higher quality selections. This would create a more balanced and authentic breakfast experience. Additionally, the breakfast includes only black olives, with no green olives or variety. Service can also feel disorganized. It appears there is a high staff turnover, which often affects consistency. Servers sometimes forget small but important requests, such as bringing sugar, additional bread, or following up on simple asks. I would also like to mention the service charge. Gratuity is already included in the bill, however l learned that servers do not actually receive these tips. As far as I understand, this may be illegal. Taking better care of staff and ensuring fair treatment would positively impact morale, service quality, and ultimately the business as a whole. Despite these concerns, I want to emphasize that the food is very good and the space itself is lovely. Degirmen has great potential, and I sincerely hope management listens to guest feedback and makes improvements. I would be happy to keep coming back and supporting this place.

I have visited the place 4 times and the experience is very inconsistent. First time we had cheese omlet it was great, the second time - dry. Pide is great, the tea is good. Burger, even though we asked for medium rare - REALLY overcooked. They replaced it, but the second one was the same, I think they brought us the same one - but heated. There are good dishes there, so it is a hit or miss. They do not take critisizme well, and really talk you into leaving a good review, once you do - you are not longer best friend, but a stranger.

The food was delicious, the service was very good. But the advertisement from the entrance is a scam. I entered thinking I was going to get the beef boner in $13.99 but when inside I realized that was not the price. Is not even in the menu.
