Beautiful spot; went to a release party for an illustrated book on the first acid trip and came back for an iced latte and take a longer look at the chain casts exhibition and print work on display
Charming little coffee nook. Friendly barista, and a comfortable space to work on your laptop.
A superb addition to the neighborhood!! A wonderful multi-disciplinary space selling thoughtful art books, delicious coffee + pastries and other unique books. The pastries and coffee are top quality, and the selection of magazines, books and zines is really excellent -- from rare artist monographs to contemporary philosophy and funky artist-made zines. A TRUE NEIGHBORHOOD GEM!
Nice and relaxing coffee shop tucked away on a busy street. The service here is great and they had a good amount of options to choose from. A little on the pricey side but worth it. The turmeric latte was delicious and would come back again for that. Stop by if you’re in the area!
great space for a slow coffee or to shop for gifts / books - not a good spot if you’re looking to get work done (no laptops or calls) but I still grabbed an iced coffee and worked across the street! really love the space and shop, so definitely recommend coming on a weekend or if you’re catching up with someone
Great coffee (beans are from a neighbourhood roastery). Finally a NY barista who doesn't make flat whites too milky as the other cafés do. Nice selection of pastries - like the tasty (gluten free) hazelnut cookie. And in the weekend I believe they have sandwiches too.
Head Hi is my favorite place where to get coffee. The “no phone calls - no cellphones - no laptops” policy, among with a great coffe and pastries, is one of the reasons why I like it. Head-Hi encourage me to unplug from the internet and phone calls, and instead sketch something on a peace of paper, people watch, or browse through a photo book while enjoying my coffee. Their Rum Cake is excellent. The music choices and the book corner makes the experience even more enjoyable. They have candles, fragrances and books for sale.
An absolutely quaint and delicious time in such a gentle atmosphere. The cookie and rum cake were amazing as well as the matcha tea and iced coffee. The staff was warm and friendly and delivered a quality experience.
friendly neighborhood spot: get your coffee ☕️ fix, listen to good records, enjoy chill vibes and good conversation. owner operated ✨ don’t bring your laptop 💻 just read 📚 lovely curated selection of all kinds of books!

Head Hi is a community focused shop dedicated to bringing people together to learn about music, photography, architecture, sculpture, writing, etc. Their atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful and filled with opportunities to read and explore. Staff are kind, service is thoughtful and intentional, pastries and coffee are excellent.
This place warms my heart. We had a book launch event here and I was amazed at the turnout, the vibe, the hosting, everything. Come here and you will keep coming back. Sign up for mailing list to keep up.

A peaceful cozy coffee shop. The coffee is from Parlor Roesters, just across the street.
Cute small shop across the street from the new food court at Brooklyn Navy Yard. A few tables, but kind of a smaller seating area. Matcha lemonade but the large is a 16 oz for $6.50, on par for similar places but not sure it’s an everyday spot for me

I didn't want to post any bad reviews but reading the comments didn't resteain. Your barista guy IS rude and tired. I understand it's hard to find personnel but there are still plenty friendly people out there looking for job who know how to make coffee and love to read. Dude needs more rest

Very restrictive policy. No wifi, laptops, or phone calls. Drinks are more expensive than Starbucks.
Such a pretentious feeling place. A selection of like 14 good books all on their own pedestal but be careful you can’t photograph the sensitive top secret materials! God forbid we promote any of the author’s hard work or drive additional traffic to this location. ☠️

Not a bad place, but for a venue that is about contemplation (no laptop work, no wifi), seating is extremely uncomfortable and can’t say the music and ambience particularly inspiring. Coffee was ok if not barely warm. Overall, won’t come back.
Cafe is quaint but they could definitely put a bit more effort into making their matcha lattes. Although the matcha powder is pretty good quality its subpar preparation honestly resulted in the worst matcha latte I’ve drunk in a while. It was EXTREMELY clumpy to the point where I could feel powder all over my mouth. Considering they only put 1/2 teaspoon (max 1 teaspoon) of matcha it’s disappointing that so much of it settled at the bottom as powder. Ideally they could resolve this by sifting their matcha into the bowl and then whisking till frothy. The cafe was mostly empty when I came but the barista only whisked my matcha for about few seconds (this definitely also contributed to the clumsiness). Overall this place has good vibes but they could definitely be more detailed oriented towards their matcha as it was a bit disappointing to pay $9 for what I received.

I took a seat outside for less than 5 min waiting for a friend to get off the bus and grab a matcha latte and 2 different baristas came outside to tell me I can't sit there. That i have to order something first to be able to take a seat. I have seen so many people take a seat and not order a thing. Now I'm going to have to tell her we can't catch up at this spot and find another coffee shop. They did me a favor being so damn rude because the coffee is overpriced and the matcha is horrible. Good luck getting new customers with your lovely customer service. I bought NOTHING because they wouldn't let me wait for my friend.
