What an experience ✨ The DJ knows how to play at the listening bar and showed us the best music and vibes… The drinks are wonderful. I’m in love and I will definitely come back.
Such a cool bar with amazing vibes! The cocktails are fantastic, the music and sound system are incredible. Friendly staff and great service. Can’t wait to come back!
Lovely music focused bar with great sound system and live DJ. Space was very intimate and loved the vibes here. Drinks were super strong and they offered great selection of seasonal cocktails — orange blossom margarita was very good.
Great local spot for anyone who is looking to enjoy great music, quality drinks and pleasant conversation. Wonderful vynil selection.
Been at my fair share of speakeasies and bars in the city. I can say with complete confidence, the vibe of this place is one of a kind. The energy is warm, the staff are attentive, and you can tell they truly care about hospitality. It's got an ATMOSPHERE! It's real cozy in there. And they always play new music! Vinyl only...I love it! If you’re looking for a spot with great music, good drinks, and an atmosphere that actually lets you enjoy conversation, Honeycomb is it. A real gem in Brooklyn...
a really nice and quaint bar with a musical charm that makes you feel relaxed and cool in their manufactured ambiance. The drinks were exceptional and the bartender was naturally pleasant and courteous.🫡🇯🇵
The lighting was perfectly dim, attentive bartender, cocktails were very good and music was good as well, not too loud. They do not have food here but there are tons of restaurants around should you want to get food after or before. I really recommend this place if you are in the area!
Treat yourself to some vinyl tunes fed through a legit tube/hybrid integrated amplifier. A healthy Japanese whiskey selection fuels the vibes. Don’t miss it. Or do and leave more for the rest of us.

One of my favorite bars in NYC. Have your Shazam ready because you never know what they’ll be playing over the amazing hifi speakers here, but it’s guaranteed to intrigue. Drinks are carefully made, with good beer, sake and wine selection as well. I always like the Akashi Highball. Bartenders take turns swapping albums on the weekdays and there’s a DJ on the weekends. I’ve come here with dates, friends and solo, never had a bad time. Highly recommend
The cocktails, music, and vibes are amazing here! This was such a great accidental find for a nightcap in downtown Brooklyn! We went on a Wednesday night, and there isnt a DJ on weeknights but John plays his vinyl albums all the way through with his amazing stereo setup!
One of my favorite home away from home spots. The vibes, drinks and music are always immaculate. Highly recommend checking out if you are in the area. Nothing like it on Park Slope and it’s worth the journey from other parts of NYC
Overall, a great bar experience. The place is very nice, the cocktails are well-crafted and creative, and the atmosphere is original, intimate, and quite selective: definitely a spot that stands out in Brooklyn. We did have a small issue with our bill during our first visit, but I really want to highlight how professional, reactive, and kind the team was. They responded quickly, acknowledged the mistake, and handled everything in a very classy way. When we came back, they even offered us drinks, which we really appreciated. Mistakes can happen anywhere, what matters is how they’re handled, and in this case it was done perfectly. Would absolutely recommend, and we’ll definitely be back.
A lovely listening bar experience with tasty drinks and, most importantly for my purposes, a great system playing a wide diversity of tracks--I've heard Willie Nelson, Trouble, Camel, and more. Having gone to a lot of listening bars in the City and Brooklyn, this is in my top 3, with my other favorites (Kissa Kissa and All Blues) being more jazz-focused. John & co. have built a great joint. Highly recommended.
Wow, what a gem. There was actually a part of me that thought about not posting to keep this exactly as it feels— a well kept secret. But the vibe is just too good and the staff is too cool to not share with others. Could not recommend more highly; the vibes, drinks, and service were perfect. There’s a big trend for HIFI right now, but I really haven’t found a place like this in NYC. There are other spots with great systems but long lines or reservation requirements, and it kind of just takes away from the whole experience for people who just want to listen for a bit with a drink. For me, this place is perfect.
Great atmosphere, hidden gem cocktail bar with flavourful house cocktails and lovely music. The sound system is amazing, you get clear music permeating the room but you still are able to talk and enjoy a chat
Honeycomb in Park Slope feels like the kind of place you stumble into on a night when you’re not looking for anything in particular — and somehow find exactly what you needed. The room is dim in a comforting way, the kind of light that softens the edges of the day. Music drifts through the space with the clarity of a private thought, never competing, just existing alongside you. The cocktails come out unhurried, each one balanced in that subtle way that makes you think someone actually cared when they made it. People speak softly, almost as if everyone collectively agreed that this small bar deserved a gentler kind of conversation. There’s nothing flashy here, nothing trying too hard — and maybe that’s why it stays with you after you leave. Honeycomb is simply a place where the night unfolds at its own pace, and for a little while, so do you.

Juan and Bruna are the best servers, amazing hospitality from both. Food and drinks were outstanding. We will definitely come back again.

This place has an amazing vibe. We came on a Saturday night and were treated to an awesome DJ spinning vinyl. The sound system blew me away…the acoustics were crystal clear, easily the best I’ve ever heard in a venue. The drinks were excellent too, and the bartender was both skilled and attentive. A top-notch experience all around
I've been to Honeycomb more than twenty times, easily, in the years since it opened - alone, in groups, on dates, any number of reasons. The drinks are great, the music and sound system are fantastic, the bartenders are outstanding. And the vibe WAS great. Unfortunately in the last six months or so it has changed significantly, with the owner becoming infuriatingly controlling and ushering about who sits where. I get that he's trying to curate a listening experience and a certain vibe, but if you're gonna own a bar (especially in a high-traffic area near Barclays Center, where people are coming in to drink off the street and may not have had you in mind as a destination), you have to chill out and let people have the bar experience that they want. (This went as far as **locking the door** during bar hours the other day so that no one could sneak in un-chaperoned.) Maybe I want to sit alone with a book at the corner and talk to the bartender. Maybe I want to sit where I can catch the eye of someone cute nearby. Maybe I don't want to sit at all. This change has completely destroyed the vibes of the place, and it's a damn shame. And yes: maybe I want to have a louder conversation than you'd like. Maybe we're having fun. In reading other comments, his obsession with controlling the environment is leading to people feeling they're being treated poorly because of their race/gender/etc. Not at all cool - this really has to change.
Very loud!! but they have the best DJ. Drinks are ok. Nice place for a drink and good music.
I loved this bar for dropping in, listening to music, and heading home. Now there's a bouncer, now there's assigned seating, and I can't drop in to see my friends who are visiting without being interrogated about who I know at the bar. It's a shame because this used to be my place to relax.
update: see response from management below. As a hospitality vet & alum of soho house, starwood & various cocktail bars revered by journalists like Robert Simonson, the behavior displayed by a staff member of this so-called business (who has been mentioned in more than one unfavorable review) & their subsequent response is completely disgusting and unacceptable. Firstly, I wouldn’t dream of returning so the declaration that I’m not welcome was unnecessary. In fact, it was clear from my first visit that I was never welcome in the first place. I will gladly go where I am shown decency & true hospitality in return for my hard-earned dollars. Secondly, it’s not what you say or the rules you enforce, it’s how you do it. We were two black women having a conversation with one of their regulars (a white man). Our demeanor & volume were the same as his but I imagine they’d describe him differently due to his outward appearance. If you’re a person of color or someone who values hospitality, stay far away from this place. I'd advise Honeycomb to be mindful of what they say to guests because you never know who you might be writing to or how your business may be affected. Any establishment that doesn’t believe it’s their duty to enhance your day/evening is not one that will stand the test of time. It’s clear that either Naomi wrote the response or management is quick to take the embellishments of their staff at face value. The fact that the only times they’ve even bothered responding to a review was 1) to say their bathroom door has been fixed & 2) to exaggerate the circumstances surrounding paying guests’ negative experience & essentially blame them for said experience while nitpicking about a drink name, speaks volumes (even louder than we allegedly were). I give a lot of grace due to my service industry history, so please trust that it's bad when I have to write a review like this. Visit at your own risk. -- ended up here on my birthday after a failed attempt to get into the liberty game at the barclays center, and my time here was... interesting. pros: ambiance, location (walking distance from the barclays center and multiple train stations) cons: cocktails felt a bit limited (they had a drink called the bee and then one called the super bee, which was just the same drink with a premium spirit). i had two cocktails—one gin-based and one mezcal-based—and they tasted almost identical. more variety in the ingredients would help; we get it, the place is called honeycomb, but not everything needs to be honey-infused or intentionally sweet. also, the service wasn’t great. our bartender alison was nice enough, but she was joined behind the bar by a young lady named naomi who wasn’t the friendliest. a list of times naomi was mean to us: - when my friend turned on her flash to help light a photo i was attempting to take (the space is very dim). sure, we might've been a little obnoxious but naomi's dramatic declaration that we were blinding her could have been a simple "sorry ladies, would you mind turning off the flash?" - when my friend mentioned her wine tasted off (after barely drinking any). alison offered a repour, but naomi jumped in and said they’d have to charge us if they repoured. i worked in hospitality for years. at the very least, you could pretend to care that your patron isn't enjoying their drink before demanding she pay for another pour. - when we asked if guests could request music. there were two bartenders and a total of 7 patrons; taking a guest's tastes into consideration for a song or two would not have hurt anyone. but instead of entertaining us, she made a shady comment about only staff picking the records because “most people don’t have as good taste as you do.” ...okay, girl. i really tried to make the most of it because, again, it was my birthday and cussing somebody out wasn't really on my birthday bingo card, but naomi’s energy made my friend uncomfortable and definitely affected the vibe. owners should consider changing the name of this place to vinegar-comb if they're gonna keep naomi employed.
Honestly just wouldn’t bother coming here. The owner (I assume) was extremely weird to us while we just sat and minded our own business. Eventually after giving us a table they asked us to move so they could squeeze a few more bodies in. I know it might not sound like much but just a weird and unpleasant experience that made all of us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. There are many other establishments in this city that will treat you well, no reason to visit this one.
Vote with your dollars and do not support this place. The owner and bartenders are racist and seem to particularly have a problem with Black women and other women of color patronizing this establishment. Unacceptable in Brooklyn. I came here with a few friends. We were repeatedly told we were being “too loud”?? when we were speaking at a normal volume, and after we had not even finished one drink we were told we have to order another or leave. Other reviews from WOC confirm this behavior is consistent from the owner to the staff.
Never thought I would be treated so terribly in the modern day Park Slope night scene. My ethnic group of friends were told to quiet down while tables around us carried on louder than the music could play. Throughout our service we faced man micro aggressions that had us uneasy and feeling like we didn’t belong. Will not return. Advise my people of color to avoid this place as well.
Shame on me for not reading the reviews before visiting this establishment. Me and my friend decided to stop by Honeycomb on a Friday night as we were in the area and enjoyed the idea of going to a Hi-Fi lounge, especially since we had not been to Honeycomb. Nonetheless, we spent our Friday evening at Honeycomb. The night was going well, the bartender (forgot his name, but a lovely man with dreads), was wonderful. Me and my friend ordered a drink, seated at the bar and actively conversing with a couple next to us (it's important to note that this couple was a Black man/White woman). After us ordering 1 drink and continuing to talk to the couple next to us, the owner of the bar approached us and informed us that "we need to decide if we are going to order another drink, and if we don't we would need to leave, as there are other customers waiting outside". Mind you, there were PLENTY of customers in the establishment who had EMPTY drinks the entire time we were there and were taking up way more space in the bar and were just standing around, not actively drinking. We were taken back as to why the owner would approach us basically demanding that if we do not order another drink, we needed to leave. Mind you, we were only sitting down for about an hour at this point. Nicely, we said to him that we'll figure out if we are going to order another one. We turned around and noticed he was standing there, waiting for us to either order or leave. I asked him if he was just going to stand there and he said yes, we need to decide right then and there. Like what? I asked the gentlemen if he was the owner, he lied and said that he wasn't the owner, even though I confirmed with the bartender that he was. Crazy enough, we were thinking about ordering another drink before he obnoxiously approached us. We definitely was not spending another dime at this establishment. After we paid and tipped the wonderful bartender, he told us we were not welcome back at his establishment. And trust me, we will NOT be back. Clearly, the owner and employees that work here, are very racist. To approach me and my friend when there are plenty of Non-POC in this bar who were a) taking up multiple tables and not actively ordering drinks b) were being extremely loud (which based on other reviews of the lounge and responses from the owner to said negative reviews, that they do not "tolerate obnoxious behavior" but seems like they only apply this "standard" to people of color. Do better.
Guy at the door have no customer service skills or how to make black people feel welcome there. Was waiting on my date that was 5 mins away and he came saying I need to order a drink and I can’t be there playing game on my phone while waiting. I should order and keep bothering me. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome so I dip and went to a friendlier bar up the road.

Yikes, your business will not have staying power if you continue to single out and discriminate against the Black and Brown patrons of Brooklyn. We are here to stay, and you are a visitor. To see consistent feedback about your bartender Naomi from numerous patrons, and not do anything to change that is alarming. It is clear that the issue isn’t with Naomi, but the values of your establishment.
UPDATE: I am surprised by the hostile tone of Honeycomb Hi-Fi’s response. To be clear, there was no loud conversation and no disruption of the room. The only remark I made—quietly to my friend—was that the barstools felt heavy and hard to slide in and out and I wasn't a fan. Sharing a personal comfort observation with a friend is not rudeness, nor does it justify staff hostility. Their public reply, which accuses us of “personal insults” and deliberately “disrupting the environment,” is factually untrue and unnecessarily combative. A professional business would never! A response should clarify or de-escalate, not escalate. I stand by my original review and share this follow-up so future guests have the full context. This establishment's response gives you all the picture you need. The reply says more than any review could. Original: My friend and I stopped by Honeycomb Hi-Fi after a disappointing night of not being able to attend the Liberty game. We were hoping to turn the evening around (it was also my friend’s birthday). Unfortunately, the experience here didn’t help. Firstly, the bar itself has a cool concept, but the service killed the vibe. Naomi in particular was passive-aggressive and dismissive—from refusing a simple music request to making dramatic comments when we tried to take a photo. When I ordered another glass of wine, instead of a respectful explanation about why it tasted off, I got same passive-aggressive tone to “prove” it was a fresh bottle. Ironically, another guest at the bar chimed in and kindly explained that orange wines can taste different depending on whether you’re drinking from the settled end of a bottle or a newly opened one. His explanation was thoughtful and respectful—something I wish we had received from the staff. The energy was “nasty nice,” not welcoming. Won’t be back anytime soon until there are some changes in the vibes. As you can see she is mentioned and/or described in other reviews. I will note, her energy was definitely different with some other patrons of the bar who were of a different persuasion than my friend and me. Go at your own risk if you are into nasty nice!
